“Tom Brady Has Lost It”

September 18th, 2020

Sad analysis.

James Jones is losing his mind.

The former Packers receiver who now makes a living hollering on NFL Network about football says the evidence is there for all to see, if they choose to see it.

In Jones’ words, “Tom Brady has lost it.”

The season-opening game against the Saints last week convinced him that the park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring Bucs quarterback’s best days are way behind.

Jones rattles off a bunch of stats from Brady’s past 10 games which, to Jones, demonstrate Brady may not be any better than Baker Mayfield. He pointed out in New England, Brady’s slippage was blamed on rotten receivers. “Now he has receivers, it’s miscommunication,” Jones added.

And Jones asks, when are folks going to hold Brady accountable?

You can see the clip of Jones hollering on “Total Access” this week in the NFL Network video below.

We’ll see. My money is on Brady and the Bucs.

  2. Buczilla Says:

One so so game against a top 5 team in that team’s stadium and he’s lost it?!? I waited for “out of sight out of mind” (not to mention the long list of other failed quarterbacks that we’ve had) to prove that he belonged, so I’m cool with giving the best of all time a handful of games to show that he’s still got it. Geez, some patience folks. 😜

  3. Scurvy Dogs Says:

James Jones is an @$$ clown. He has some the worst takes in football.

  4. Joeypoppems Says:

I miss the days when the media ignored this team lol.

Brady is fine. I was impressed by his deep ball. Seemed like every time he threw one there was DPI. If those are caught a different picture is painted.

Panthers D is a good “get right” matchup for the O

  5. Bucsfanman Says:

So Jones compares Brady to Baker Mayfield and we’re to take him seriously?!

  6. Patrick in SC Says:

People use those justifications for him because they’re valid justifications. He did have garbage to throw to. There is miscommunication with the receivers last week. Those are real things. Dumb take by someone who needs to learn how to use his inside voice.

  7. EA Says:

No one would have thought that a 43 year old QBs best days are behind him, thanks JJ, that’s some real insight.

  8. Blogtalkfootball.com Says:

They said the same thing a few years ago after Brady had a bad game in Kansas City. He needs to string together some bad games before I buy it.

  9. Dreambig Says:

I rewatched a good part of that game and my biggest take away is the Saints are damn good. Bucs were hanging in there but kept missing by inches, like a perfect Brady pass on a slant to Miller, hits him in stride but Millers knee hits down right before the 1st down marker. That kind of stuff kept happening. The Saints were balling and we just were not there yet. This week beating the Panthers is critical. I think we will and all will be back on track.

  10. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

LOL…except communication has ALWAYS been the issue with the Bucs, whether it is offense OR defense.

  11. Bruce Blahak Says:

What is that loud mouth on TV for? Absolutely horrid analyst. Shut the a**holes up this week when Bucs blast 50 on the kitties

  12. Roy T. Buford Says:

Too funny. Yeah, James Jones HAS lost his mind.

So, some say after five years of failure given every opporturnity, guys like Jameis Winston are clearly Hall of Fame players and just need more time, more chances.

Meanwhile, the GOAT is washed up after one game during a pandemic with a new team, no pre-season. When he still put up 239 yards, 2 TDs, and had a very rare pick 6.

Uh…thanks for playing James. See ya Monday morning.

  13. Roy T. Buford Says:

Another thought to go with James Jones losing his mind. A search did not reveal a similar article on a very slightly younger fellow GOAT named Drew Brees, who also did not have good day (not much numbers, but no huge mistakes helped his team win). So if Brady has lost it in one week, Drew Brees should be be immedidately put away. Not.

    **Suckas!!

  15. Clean House Says:

    5109 yds – gone
#1 passing yds per game- gone

    Turns out he was ballin

It’s kinda hard to stomach isn’t it Jameis haters?

Well sit back and enjoy the stagnation and misery of Door #2

    Next time check yo sheet!

  16. Clean House Says:

Poor little Joe can’t handle my takes of late?

Just ban me for having a consistent opinion.

Just come out and say it!! Make the ban official

    A censored football blog!!!

  17. Mitch Says:

I don’t pay attention to most of these entertainment sports shows on TV because a lot of what they say is scripted to the point that they may not actually agree with what they themselves are saying.

  18. Youngbucs Says:

They really pay these people to be on tv smh. You guys know who knows football? Tony Romo he’s watched the film I’ll go with his knowledge!

  19. Hodad Says:

Jones as a former player knows it isn’t always a steady decline, sometimes it’s a fall off a cliff. Not saying that has happened to Tom, but you can’t deny watching these young mobile QB’s tearing it up this past Sunday. They looked like Rabbits, where QB’s like Tom, and Rivers looked like turtles. Having the ability like Mahomes, Murray, Baker, Manchu, Watson, rolling out of the pocket can not be over stated. We’re old school. Old coach, old pocket passer, we can’t run any misdirection with Tom. Everyone knows he’s not going to keep it, and run for a 40 yard TD. We talk about the O line, but you’re not going to keep your QB from getting sacked if he can’t move. Like the turtle, and the hare we’ll see who gets over the finish line after the next 15.

  20. Rick Says:

Brady will bounce back. But he’ll have to adjust to make up for Smith’s lack of effort. I re watched the game and , my goodness, definition of a loaf. Brady tried to stuff the ball in double coverage because someone is breathing down his back. Someone pointed out the Buc’s run scheme and the second Godwin goes into motion the front seven of the D stack up in the box.

  21. Wayne PEREZ Says:

Who is this ahold he doesn’t know squat he talks ou t of his

  22. Bucsfan951 Says:

This meltdown that CLEAN HOUSE is having is almost as amusing as NPUPPYS meltdown. Grab your popcorn and sit back, ladies and gents. This is gonna be a good one!

THANK GOD THE CANCER IS GONE AND THIS TEAM CAN FINALLY BREATHE AGAIN!!!

Check yo sheets, he’s 3rd string!

  23. ClodHopper Says:

Every year. Every single year the goat goes through this talking point in September. Funny thing is one of these years they’re going to be right and when it happens they’ll say “I totally called it!!”

  24. ClodHopper Says:

    “Scorching hot take”

Hot takes are lame. I’m interested in a calm reasoned discussion so I can learn things. Anyone can have hot take. The easiest damn thing in the world is to have a hot take.

With one exception: Hot takes from us laymen in the comment section is fun. Hot takes from professionals who are supposed to be smarter than us is just pigeon fodder.

  25. Wesley Says:

    The overreacting is ridiculous.

  26. TOM Says:

Look how many people reponded to his stupid remarks. And thats why he’s on TV.

  27. Buccfan37 Says:

He is what he is. Brady looks like a 43 year old QB. He should be as good as his surrounding group of offensive players. Super Bowl material seems a stretch after one game this early on.

  28. PirateBootyBritts Says:

Coming from a player that “never had it” in James Jones.. give me a break brother

  29. Capece is Kaput Says:

My biggest concern with Brady was that his arm was done. The Saints game showed me his arm is still good. The stuff that is going here is just getting the kinks out, what am I really comfortable doing, where is everyone supposed to be kind of stuff. I still think we are a 9-7 or 10-6, probably one and done playoff team. Which is a big step forward for this team.
I still expect us to get better as the year goes on, but the big time fantasy number’s from Brady or the receivers and scoring 30 a game stuff I never bought in to. .. but I can tell you people this, you better mentally prepare for Brady to probably throw 16-20 picks this year. I expect it to happen and it is really not that big of a deal in this type of offense. When it hits 30, then it is a problem.

  30. Etzel Says:

Bring Jaboo back. Get this weak-arm crybaby tf outta here!

  31. Etzel Says:

People thinking a 43 year old QB will play better as the season goes on… Hahahaha. Not after the type of beatings he’ll be getting every week.

  32. Etzel Says:

Hope you boomers enjoy jacking off to your Tom Brady fathead as this team wins 6 games (or less!!!)

  33. Bucsfan951 Says:

^what was JW’S win percentage as a starter? Wanna bet it was 6 games a season?

How’s that JW fat head above your bed? Need me to send you some cleaner to take off the stains?

  34. ClodHopper Says:

    Capece

I agree with every word. That was well thought out and explained

  35. Bucsfanman Says:

Etzel- First off, get your generations right. Second, judging by your posts, I can only assume that you are the one who indulges in pleasuring over a singular player. Incidentally, one not on our team!
I also must assume that you are NOT a Buc fan.

  36. ClodHopper Says:

I don’t always pleasure myself to the Gen Xer but when I do he’s wearing Uggs and eating seaweed.
