Sweet Offense (In First Half)
September 27th, 2020Maybe because Joe watched the full game and the stench of the offense in the second half is fresh in Joe’s memory, but damn, park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring Bucs quarterback Tom Brady had a nice game when you read the box score.
Brady finished with just at 297 yards with three touchdowns and no picks.
Good things about Brady’s game stick out (aside from the second half offensive sewage):
* His pass to Mike Evans towards the far left corner of the end zone. Joe was hyped for this. For reasons not quite clear, Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston ,could never get this type of pass down with Evans. Brady already has it. This is a very good sign.
* Joe loved the pass design of the one-yard touchdown catch by Evans. Brady threw to Evans just behind the line of scrimmage to the left side. It almost looked like a bubble screen as Evans curled behind Chris Godwin who blocked for Evans on the play and cleared traffic for Evans to cross the goal line. That was a cool play.
* Really good thread-the-needle passes to Scotty Miller and O.J. Howard down the sidelines. Joe doesn’t think Jameis could have pulled those throws off.
Maybe Brady needs to have a sitdown this week with his offense to not lose focus in the second half. That shouldn’t be happening.
But yeah, Brady had a good game. The first half, that’s what he was brought to town for. Just good, solid, dependable play.

A lot of penalties and a few drops in the second half. Not Brady’s fault.
September 27th, 2020 at 8:37 pm
That offense needs to get A LOT better in the second half! That ain’t no playoff team if you go off the second half!
September 27th, 2020 at 8:38 pm
A nice clean game from Brady. Awesome job on those deep throws. A LB trying to cover Godwin? Great read!!
And I love love our Redzone offense. Its time for you Byron critics to give him some credit. A few other areas might be fair to question Byron on. But you gotta admitt he knows how to punch the ball in from the Redzone!! Getting 7 instead of 3 is a very big deal.
September 27th, 2020 at 8:38 pm
I watched the NFL Redzone while waiting for the Bucs’ game to begin. The games were pretty much all exciting, since many were not decided until the last possession or so.
To my memory, the Bucs have had very few games in recent years where the result of the game was NEVER IN DOUBT, like it was today, at least to me. Especially on the road!
What an unbelievable change for me, as a Buc fan.
While the offense was not hitting on all cylinders in the second half, did anyone feel that Brady and the offense were about to have multiple turnovers thus gifting the opponents the game, or at least a chance to get back in it.

Evans only two catch’s is ubsurd.
September 27th, 2020 at 8:40 pm
And our offense was really only bad in the 3rd quater. They did a nice job in the 4th moving the ball and chewing up clock. We were up by 3 scores. Thats all you gotta do to win.
September 27th, 2020 at 8:42 pm
If we can’t clean this O up, we likely won’t score as many points in the RayJ this year totally, as what DT pays in taxes on the average, over the last 15 years. Pitiful.
September 27th, 2020 at 8:43 pm
Scotty Miller with a really nice catch but couldnt come up with another big play. Missed opportunity down the sideline and another drop.
He has to keep developing and getting better. Hes not there yet.
September 27th, 2020 at 8:44 pm
Correct me if I’m wrong but if Brady’s pass to Evans was behind the line of scrimmage, then it would not have been a TD pass…..it would been an Evans run.
September 27th, 2020 at 8:46 pm
So….I’m incorrect….it was a forward pass behind the line of scrimmage…..I correct myself…
September 27th, 2020 at 8:47 pm
I can tell you why Jameis could never throw that route..his go to type of throw that he was best at was essentially a pitcher throwing a fast ball.lots of zip but never a ton of upper trajectory on them, which is why linebackers could often. Get their hands on them underneath. when you can put a bit more touch and drop the ball in from over top it’s a lot more forgiving, you can. Give your guy more time to adjust to it, and easiertk get it over the underneath coverage
September 27th, 2020 at 8:49 pm
Donovan Smith loafed again on a stunt where Ali’s guy swung around to Donovan. Same old habits. Get him the F out of there. He showed NO EFFORT to sustain a block on that play.
Weakest Link. Good bye!

I agree with tickrdr.
Seriously, once it became clear the Bucs were headed for a solid win, I was happy the O sputtered because I enjoyed this D just whacking people around.
I am not kidding.
If the Bucs D shows up like thre last couple if weeks, they should be in every game they play this season.
Remember when Chucky said he wanted to go 3-1 each “quarter” of the season? Well…
September 27th, 2020 at 9:02 pm
You people are celebrating a good half of offense against a team that could get zero pressure and have zero DBs. Wow you have some low expectations.
September 27th, 2020 at 9:07 pm
Ndog to be fair some of the more impressive plays today were where their db actually had fantastic coverage and our guy still came away with it. Look at Howard and Miller’s long catches. Can’t defend much better than that. Just perfect ball placement and amazing catches
September 27th, 2020 at 9:24 pm
Npuppy we are celebrating a win. Not crying over a player not on this team. And constantly being a complete azzhat because the team let him go. If you are so Unhappy leave like you threaten to because you are not a fan and we all know it.
September 27th, 2020 at 9:25 pm
Brady continues to make some throws that Winston probably doesn’t but Brady missed some very very easy passes for big yardage that Winston makes all day long !! Not overly impressed w Brady so far , about average !!!
September 27th, 2020 at 9:26 pm
NDog is the biggest POS this site has ever had!! God bless his boyfriend!!
September 27th, 2020 at 9:31 pm
Ndog Bucs win and we are happy. Bucs win and you are upset.

Be careful your bias is showing. Those throws and catches last year would have been described as “forced” or “bailing him out” or he just ” threw it up”.
But this year they are “perfectly placed”
UNBELIEVABLE

Still can’t get out of JBFAN moderation?
September 27th, 2020 at 9:33 pm
So you people want me to root for a QB who I’ve hated for 20 years and a coach I hate?
To me you are the traitors for turning your back on our QB while rooting for the Patriots QB, cause he will never be the Bucs QB
September 27th, 2020 at 9:33 pm
Oh don’t get me wrong when I saw the throw to Howard I was kinda worried and thought maybe wasn’t the wisest throw, but damn was it ever beautiful
September 27th, 2020 at 9:42 pm
Ndog thank you for admitting that you indeed hate the Bucs, players and coaches. That took a shred of courage to admitt it openly to us all.
And this also proves the hyprocrite statement as you claimed to be agaist Buc haters before. Now you are a hater. Confirmed fact. Thznks for confirmation.
GO BUCS!!
September 27th, 2020 at 9:46 pm
Sad to see the Buccaneers go lights in 2nd half vs a very bad Broncos team. Donovan Smith is not a reliable Left Tackle for an aging immobile slow BRADY. Justin Herbert or Jalen Hurts Etc. Woulda been nice to see holding the clipboard as an apprentice to TB12. This offense cannot match up against playoff teams right now. Protection has to be better but PAPA Bwucie BWUCE Is SOOO STUBBORN that he will continue to run the downfield options and get Brady killed and put us in 3rd and long. One week Fournette One week Rojo ok so it’s Bioolar RB and hey everybody LeSean is in the game on 3rd down that means we are throwing to him you don’t have to cover anyone else. At least Gronk saw the ball more Cameron Brate man his family members don’t even know where he is. OJ thanks for showing up for 1 play a game as a 1st Rd Draft pick we refused to trade.
September 27th, 2020 at 9:50 pm
Ndick…why don’t you just go away like you said you would?
September 27th, 2020 at 9:54 pm
My favorite NPUPPY quote…
“ Unfortunately 76 I might be done with team forever as watching them play no longer gives me joy. And it pisses me off.”
WHY ARE YOU HERE AGAIN??
September 27th, 2020 at 9:55 pm
He did go away once said he was done. But lied and came back. If he leaves again he will be back. Count on it!
September 27th, 2020 at 9:59 pm
FYI NDog … Winston is NOT OUR QB!! Just Yours!! In more ways than one!!
September 27th, 2020 at 10:14 pm
Joe
Look at all these nslob comments and mine gets cut
What a joke
September 27th, 2020 at 10:28 pm
Yes JimmyJack I hate people who have no idea what they are talking about but truly believe they do.
September 27th, 2020 at 10:33 pm
You guys only hate that I post cause you KNOW I’m right and you can’t stand it . There no debating that Brady is 100% dependant on the oline being perfect AND us having a very good running game AND the defense giving him a short field AND the WRs bailing him out. He can’t create anything and is 100% dependent on others. That is a downgrade cause our former QB would have dominates under those circumstances AND could still make plays AND still had a future.
But you guys enjoy this win over a HORRIBLE football team with all their backups in who is winless. Congrats.
September 27th, 2020 at 11:35 pm
Geez, the difference a good, risk averse, QB can make is stunning. Out of sight, out of mind, imo got a bad rap off the field for doing foolish things, but I don’t think that he is a bad kid. My issue was always with the “wtf is he doing” plays that he could just never shake. If our offensive line can ever learn how to properly run block and Brady starts to gel more with his receivers, we’ll be damn scary on offense.

Heck, the red zone offense improved last year. That was an immediate upgrade over Koetter’s offense.

Who dat in first place in the nfc south?
September 28th, 2020 at 12:08 am
Hey, Ndog, did yo check Jameis’ sheets?
Not for stains. For stats.
September 28th, 2020 at 12:10 am
Ndog, has it ever occurred to you that this D is playing lights’ out because they know The GOAT won’t turn the ball over 2-3 times a game, not to mention pick-6’s…
Has it yet occurred to you that the D didn’t want Winston back…at any price?
September 28th, 2020 at 7:16 am

HahhahahahahahahahahhahahahHhahahahahhahahaHa! Thanks that was hilarious!
September 28th, 2020 at 11:56 am
I counted about 3 bad throws from Brady, and maybe another 2 that were questionable.
The rest were right on the money.
Also 2 drops by receivers / tight ends.
Need to get this offense firing on all cylinders for a full 60 minutes thought. A half game won’t cut it against better teams like the Packers and Saints.
September 28th, 2020 at 4:46 pm
Ndog how many wins does jameis have this year? I thought so..
Please leave this site and let us true buc fans enjoy our team..
If you miss jameis so much please find a saints support group.
September 28th, 2020 at 6:49 pm
NDog…. you may say Brady ain’t this or ain’t that!!! But one thing that’s for damn sure is that Brady is 10 times better than your Lover!!
September 29th, 2020 at 2:36 pm
They did that same bubble screen to Mike Evans against the Giants last year too…. Got to be careful getting too comfortable with that play… That is an EASY pick 6 if the defense knows it’s coming!! They better line up a little different or something next time… Or use a different receiver
September 29th, 2020 at 2:44 pm
Ndog…. As much as I hate to respond to an idiot, I have to point out that Brady depending on his teammates to ya know, get open, block for him, have a semblance of a run game…. You know that is how football is played right?? It’s a team game… I liked Winston and I thought they should have found a way to keep him as a back up.. I do think the guy can play… But he’s inaccurate, tries to do too much and is just to risky with the ball!! I mean no matter how much you complain you can’t take away his turnovers…. That was the one thing I noticed about the game Sunday is that while Brady took too long in the pocket sometimes, he didn’t take any unnecessary chances!! … In that Panthers game YOU KNOW Winston throws the pick 6 to put the Panthers ahead!! He did it last year in the same circumstances!! Then he battles back and just when you think he’s finally going to learn how to close out a game… He throws the pick to end it…. I liked Winston man and he had a lot of heart… But you complaining about that all the time while the bucs are winning is kind of pathetic dude!! Or chick or whatever you are?? …. I’m assuming that you are black and that is why you care so much because you are a racist… And if your not black then with a name like Ndog you are just a wanna be!!!
