Mike Evans On Chris Godwin

Mutal respect.
This is a perfect example of why Mike Evans is a class act and he may be the best draft pick the Bucs have had since Ronde Barber.
Why does Joe write that? Well, Joe hopes Barber gets in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He should. He’s close. And you won’t find many more class acts than Barber. He’s a perfect combination of class and skill.
Evans is right up there. We all know Evans is on a Hall of Fame track. And his attitude is the same as Barber’s.
Here’s an example. Joe knows that the Bucs’ biggest cheerleader for fellow receiver Chris Godwin is Evans. When Godwin was a rookie, Evans told Joe that Godwin is a No. 1 receiver — and this is coming from one of the best No. 1 receivers in the game.
Earlier this week, Evans spoke about how fired up he is that Godwin is expected to return to the starting lineup this afternoon in Denver.
Evans is a Hall of Famer, both as a player and a teammate.

Evans loves Godwin on the filed to reduce the double coverages on him.
Ditto Godwin.
And BOTH on the field opens up routes for the $3 or #4 WR.
The perfect definition of synergy…

I remember watching the kid play BBall and Football at Ball High in Galveston when he was in HS. Never met him but I heard good things about his demeanor back then. So glad to see that he carried that on into his professional life.
A lot of athletes don’t.

Evans’ on field demeanor is not classy.
He gets frustrated and rattled way too often.
He likes to complain to the refs too much too.
Other than that though he’s damn good.

I used to listen to Vincent Hackson on the raduo. Smart guy. Great radio voice. Knows the game. Someone needed to shock him every time he said you know what I mean. That will druve a listener nuts it about like an ummm person or a Canadian that ends every sentence with A.
