Let Brady Be Brady

September 20th, 2020

Riffs on Tom Brady.

A Hall of Famer thinks he knows why park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring Bucs quarterback Tom Brady struggled last week at New Orleans.

That man is “The Playmaker,” Michael Irvin of NFL Network. This morning, Irvin used his national platform to suggest maybe, at least in this stage of his career, Brady is not a good fit for Bucco Bruce Arians’ wing-it-deep offense.

Instead, as Irvin explains, let Brady be Brady and let him dink and dunk his way down the field.

Joe knows that last week former Bucs quarterback and Belicheats offensive assistant Chris Simms said the first drive the Bucs had at New Orleans, where the Bucs looked smooth as silk, came straight out of the Belicheats’ playbook.

When Brady tried to run Arians’ playbook is when Brady began to struggle, Simms said. It seems Irvin agrees.

You can see Irvin’s full take in the NFL Network video below.

Watched this segment live and couldn’t agree more.

Its funny he says that when brady had major success with the deep ball last week. Dink and dunk? He got picked trying to dink and dunk!

  3. Mike Says:

Let’s see if Bucco Bruce gets out-coached again this week

I was very concerned about Tom Brady, in this offense.
Hopefully, we get back on track today, because if not, and Carolina beats us, it will put us 0-2 in our Division, and that will be hard to overcome.

  5. Buc N A Says:

Our QB has forgotten more about football than the current Offensive coordinator will ever know. Not exactly a recipe for success.

  6. DBS Says:

Let Brady do what Bradt does. Be successful. Something the Bucs don’t know how to be.

    I agree with you.

Meanwhile why must we always dis other teams. I hate Sean Payton…not a fan of Brees…dislike the Saints…but damn…I have to give them props when they deserve it. They have assembled perhaps the second best team in football. Until someone unseats the Chiefs I give them and Mahomes props as best.

So we played arguably the 2nd best team in football…in their house…with them being together forever…how long have Brees and Payton been together? I’ve lost count. Very few changes. We have a revamped team especially if you consider how many 2nd year players are in the mix and a 2nd year coach with a brand new QB. The first game for these guys to be together.

Chicken Littles can we at least see how we fare against Carolina before writing the Bucs obituary?

    Amen, Michael!!

Through six quarters I would say reports of Brady’s demise were greatly exaggerated.
