“I Don’t Give A Sh** About Possession Time”

September 3rd, 2020

Bucco Bruce Arians showed his 2019 frustration today.

Once upon 2015 in Arizona, during Bruce Arians’ last winning season as a head coach, his Cardinals racked up 30.6 points per game without the talent base currently on the Tampa Bay offense.

As as Joe detailed earlier today, if you score 30 points a game in the NFL, you’re going to the playoffs every time.

So Joe asked the head coach this morning about this absolutely loaded Dream Team Tampa Bay offense. And Arians’ voice got more intense and his 2019 frustration flashed.

JoeBucsFan.com: Back with Arizona, your team in 2015 averaged more than 30 points a game, and every team that’s done that in the last decade has made the playoffs. Is there any reason why you think this team can’t score 30 points a game?

Bruce Arians: No, I don’t. I don’t see any reason unless we turn the ball over. We would have scored 30 last year, but we gave the ball away so many times, and gave so many drives away and missed so many kicks. If we play the way we’re capable of playing, the 30 points, for me, I always call it production time; it’s not possession. I don’t give a sh** about possession time. Possession time doesn’t score any points; it’s what you do with the ball when you have it. So if you have it 30 minutes, you should have 30 points.

#BlameJameis. And Joe’s ok with that, Jameis did give away the ball like it was Halloween candy a mask at a hospital entrance. And Matt Gay was maddening more than he was dominating.

It’s a true new day in Tampa Bay, a day for no excuses — and averaging 30 points per game.

Seriously how can anyone like this POS?

He is literally the most classless coach I have ever heard in any capacity.

Again he takes zero accountability for anything, this guy SMH.

  2. bojim Says:

    Ditto!

  3. Smashsquatch Says:

The Pats used to march down the field with dual tight ends leading the way. The benefit was that they were able to disguise the play call. Then Hernandez went into killer mode and they shifted into a death by running backs approach. Once again the Pats had a system capable of cloaking itself. Now it appears Brady has the best of both worlds. The Bucs now possess a posse of backs and tight ends which will further reduce their predictability. I think we’re going to see a lot of two TE sets. The result could be a huge advantage in time of possession. A fresh D will no doubt be licking their chops. Arians will soon learn to love the benefits of time of possession. Especially when the wins start piling up!

  4. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Starting to believe that Gay will be on PS

  5. bojim Says:

To the article. Not to dog boy.

  6. Buc50 Says:

@Ndog come on man. He can’t throw the ball and coach. I like Jameis too but the turnovers were his fault.

  7. Ndog Says:

Then why did they go out and get four running backs, a right tackle that can run block and a tight end that can run block? Don’t worry I’ll answer for you they understand how important a running game is to offset all the passing we did last year to make us less predictable yet they’re going to blame the quarterback knowing good and damn well he had no running game so we were predictable That’s why it’s his fault and he damn well knows it.

  8. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Fast improvements on offense personnel…QB, TE, RT, RB, Olive depth

  9. lambchop Says:

    @Ndog,

Will you ever admit your loser QB was part of the problem? Or are you like the “classless HC” and blame everyone except your lover?

    Pot meet kettle, dumass.

  10. Aceofaerospace Says:

Couldn’t have said it any better myself coach.

  11. Pat Says:

I think Ariens would’ve been happy to roll with Jameis Winston but when Tom Brady came available you go with Tom Brady obviously. It’s not so much about blaming Jameis-although he did throw a lot of interceptions – it’s more about Tom Brady. I think the Bucs made the right move.

  12. Youngbucs Says:

Ndog and all you other 🤡 need to stfu!!!!! BA has no ties to Winston every new coach all the time goes to a team and replaces players. He evaluated winston and had seen enough and who can argue that. Be realistic how many regimes is winston supposed to survive?????? The Bucs are building a team that’s what it about finding someone better than what you have. At every position possible!!!!!

  13. lambchop Says:

    @Ndog,

Fournette became available. That pickup would have been done last year even more so than this year if he was cut. The Shady pickup is good but nothing like Fournette, so I don’t understand your 4 RBs take. You think 2 RBs in the draft are anything to write home about? We also drafted a ton of DBs in the draft and that only started clicking after VH3 was pushed off the boat.

The defense came to play the 2nd half of last season, what happened to your lover boy the last 2 games? Do you also remember the Seattle game where your lover coughed up a fumble all on his own when the ball slipped out of his hands? That loss was squarely on him as good as he played. Winston will always be a “Yea, but….” player.

The Bucs had to move on based on his salary demands. He wrote his own pink slip with the demands, his check yo sheets accountability, and the way he ended the season. Oh yea, Freeman’s best season was better than Winston’s. 30 INTs? All 30 INTs are someone else’s fault? LMAO. Go to the Saints blog and root for your lover there and stop crying and whining. Tired of your crap.

  14. Couch Fan Says:

Angry the Coach isnt taking accountability while refusing to hold Winston accountable for the issues he’s had since college. Yup, typical Ndummy rant.

  15. TSmitty3000 Says:

With Fournette, the Bucs should be able to run a 4 minute offense to run clock at the end of game. The Bucs haven’t been able to do that in ages. I’d rather use the remaining resources to get depth at EDGE or Defensive line

  16. Geno712 Says:

Love this coach. Top 10 coach in the league with a top 10 Quarterback and top 10 defensive line.

    Expect good things.

  17. bucsfan951 Says:

THIS NPUPPY MELTDOWN IS BETTER THAN ANYTHING THAT IS ON TV.

THANK GOD THE BUCS GOT RID OF THE CANCER NAMED JW AND WE CAN FINALLY BREATHE AGAIN!!!

  18. Jerk04 Says:

N pup. Zero doubt you are the biggest moron I have ever seen on here. Thought you ran away crying and quit. It’s called roster improvement. Every franchise does it. If you can upgrade your roster you do it. Also somebody made a great point earlier. He is pushing all his chips in now cause he finally has a good hand with a great QB. Winston is and was a turnover machine. He has same problem in college with lesser talent he was playing g against. Your guy is a loser. Arians does what all coaches do. Talk up their players until they move on from them. It’s called building or trying to help confidence. Would you have preferred he got up week after week and said what POS Winston was. I wish he did but he didn’t. That’s called class. Your boy sucks. Arians has improved the roster every chance he could. Would we be a super bowl contender with same roster as last year minus Winston plus Brady. Maybe maybe not so he got better where he could. Haul ass and go back to dressing your girl up in Winston jersey and helmet and asking her to turn around so you can pretends she’s is Winston. That’s if you can get a girl. Ok all done with you now. Bye bye cry baby

  19. Hodad Says:

Ndog, give it up. Jameis is a third string QB now. He’s lucky there was no preseason games this year, because he would’ve lit up the scoreboard, for the other team!! That’s what he does best, turn the ball over. Arains is just stating facts. Something you seem to have a hard time grasping. Since you love you some Jameis, I’m sure you’ve been following him at Saints camp. How’s he doing? I haven’t heard coach say he’s taken the #2 spot from Hill, how come? If he’s still 3rd on the depth chart with 5 years of starts in the NFL over Hill then I guess he sucks.

  20. Cannon Says:

I think that its refreshing that a coach totally buys in the core axiom of winning games…

score more points than the other team

    lots of points

  21. ©MadMax Says:

This needs to be our theme song….the throat singing that the Mongolians have perfected is amazing…. (hope you allow this to post Joe’s)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jM8dCGIm6yc

  22. ©MadMax Says:

We gonna feed from sooo many wins this year….my goodness. Put your betting money on our Bucs and thank me later.

  23. Cobraboy Says:

I love Arians as thre Bucs head coach.

I do understand that the Winston butt-snorlelers hate Arians.

They like ther player more than the team. Must be a casual fan Madden thing, or something.

Turnovers prolly cost the Bucs 3 points a game.

  24. Ndog Says:

So yes Fournette was available. So you’re telling me before this year no one was available better than Peyton Barber no one was available that is better than Dare, no one’s available is better than DeMar Dotson? Really no one was available last year to make any other spots any better no one huh at all?

You guys can say what you want but you know deep down you’re wrong you know deep down they did nothing to help Jameis out the past 5 years in the running game or on defense or with the kicker but now magically everything is happening for the great one isn’t that funny? You could say oh it’s cuz he came here and everyone wants to play with Brady. Guess what James had plenty of people that would have came here for him too I’m pretty sure Dalvin Cook would love to be here instead of OJ drops/oops Howard or they could have signed Adrian Peterson instead of going with Peyton Barber, but no they stated with the undrafted bums for Jameis, yet now every single player that becomes available they scoop up for Brady I guess its just luck right.

Do you even hear yourselves or are you not really fans and have no idea what’s really been going on with this team?

  25. Unbuc'n Believable Says:

” … and missed so many kicks.” BA does not forget!

  26. Couch Fan Says:

Do you even hear yourselves or are you not really fans and have no idea what’s really been going on with this team?
    ————–

I cant do anything but laugh at this question. You are so obsessed with that 3rd string QB over in New Orleans that nobody in the NFL wanted. But somehow WE are wrong… LMAO

  27. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Ndog

It’s all a Buccaneer Deep State conspiracy… to send you to the funny farm.

Btw, Jaboo is holding a clipboard for the Saints, and only two or three people here care.

  28. Youngbucs Says:

Ndog nobody wants to play with jameis. It’s a two way street no one flocking to play with a turnover machine open your eyes.

  29. Jeffbuc Says:

We drafted a runningback in the second round for jameis. Ndog your an idiot. Do you think we drafted him to have a horrible rookie season. Everyone thought he was the 3rd best back in that draft. Why does that not count in your keeping score. A early second round pick is a big investment in a runningback. More than we used this year on any of the runningbacks we brought in. You speak nonsense and just pick and choose things to fit your narrative. But leave out we drafted Howard who was suppose to be one of the best tight ends coming out in 10 years. Drafted Godwin, Jones, market ,Smith

  30. ©MadMax Says:

NDOG, THE BLU BLU, THE BLA BLA,….WTH…THE MU MU, MOO MOO the constant wha wha wha constantly….so stupid! And I just made more sense than that schlub. funny

  31. Bill_T Says:

On the Saint’s official depth chart, Winston isn’t there, either as 2 or 3. What’s up?

He is literally the most classless coach / poster I have ever heard in any capacity.

Again he takes zero accountability for anything, this guy SMH.

Sounds like yourself bro. It as if you worked for Arians and got fired or he stole your lunch money. Maybe stuffed you in a locker or something.

  33. Cobraboy Says:

@Bill_T: not sure any depth chart today is official.

I’d call JW second-and-a-half string. Seems he and Hill are 2-3/3-2 depending on the source.

But fact remains JW ride the pine unless Brees gets hurt. I suspect Hill gets more snaps than Winston for “gimmick” plays.

Unless the Saints come up with an int/turnover “gimmick” play.

  34. 813bucboi Says:

    ndog

    what dont you understand!!!!!

as BA said:”We would have scored 30 last year, but we gave the ball away so many times, and gave so many drives away”

we were able to establish the run game because teams were putting 8,9 men in the box begging for JW to throw because they knew:

as joe said it perfectly:”Jameis did give away the ball like it was a mask at a hospital entrance”…🤣😂😂

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  35. Ndog Says:

Like usual you guys have absolutely nothing to retort what I say cuz you know I’m 100% correct but that’s ok cause that’s what people that have nothing say do.

  36. Couch Fan Says:

Correct nobody wants to retort to your Jealous school girl like reply (and not to mention factually inaccurate). “But you didnt buy me anything when we were together” LMAO.

  37. Ndog Says:

    Whats inaccurate? I’ll wait?

  38. JimmyJack Says:

Fornette would never have signed here if Winston was here. And that’s a fact jack!!

Bronk would laugh at coming to a Winston team as well.

Mike Evan’s would just about be done with this crap too. He’d be counting the days.

Suh was talking to other teams he was done….Then we signed Brady and he got on the first flight to Tampa.

JPP would be gone too…..And there’s no way Shaq would be getting set to sign a big extension in 2021 with Winston.

Thinking any players were lining up to come play with Winston is actually kinda disturbing……..Get me one name if that’s true? One freaking name. You cant cause you wont……The best you could say is Grimes hahajaha…..After that it’s the same old as it always has been…..dudes coming to play at the clubs and collect checks like Djax and Swaagy or that OL from Seattle that played 1 and a half games………Dude you just played yourself with that dumbass comment.

The proof is in the pudding. The absolute best you could say is Suh. And your touched in the head if you dont realize he came he because of Bruce and Bowles.

In JBF land there’s dumb comments(guilty) and then there just plain irrational nonsense……..Tell realistico and Kobe I said hi down there in the pit of despair.

  39. Ndog Says:

    Adrian Peterson done next!

  40. Couch Fan Says:

I’m not going to waste me time trying to show you the errors of your illogical statements. Its much more entertaining to hear you say/imply idiotic things like the Bucs never did anything to help Jameis. LMAO

  41. Ndog Says:

Exactly Couch you have nothing and you know it. NEXT!!!!

  42. Couch Fan Says:

Oh and I cant forget you’re questioning other peoples fandom while riding the jock of a currect Saints 3rd string QB while bashing everything Bucs. Yes. the stupidity is strong in you.

  43. JimmyJack Says:

Ndog……That just figures with you bro…..You name a guy who didnt never sign here. A guy that chose a better team with a better QB.

Good grief man you are a disgrace. Absolute fantasy land.

  44. Piratic Says:

    Prod ND until he implodes!

Either way, after this season, he’ll be gone. A person can only take so much before they crumble, and this deluded jock-holder is already on the brink!

  45. jerk04 Says:

PUP you really are an idiot. Not ONE franchise in all of football signed him to be a starting QB. Not one franchise in all of the NFL signed him to be a 2nd string QB? Nearly every single player on the roster from last year or previous years has thrown him under the bus. Everybody on the team and every other franchise in football is not nearly as smart as you PUP. Do you hear yourself? You think you are so smart and have everybody in a corner with your “Facts”. If he is the person you say he is he would be starting somewhere in the NFL. You are a complete moron. And you put zero accountability on him. Whose fault was it he grabbed the uber driver? Oh it was her fault. I may by he was reaching for himself and missed and grabbed her by accident. That would be believable.

Go Away moron. Your takes are tired, repetitive, and comical. You are a bigger joke than your man crush. Deal with it, nobody wanted your boy in the NFL or his teammates. 5 years and brought this franchise nothing but embarrassment on and off the field. Probably much like you do to your family. NA NA NA NA Pup

  46. Ndog Says:

I love you guys constantly move the goal post no one’s talking about where he signed once he left here what I’m talking about is the lack of support around him while he was here I don’t know how that could be any clearer they did not provide him with a running game they did not provide him with a kicker they did not provide him with a defense yet now they’re doing everything for the old man it’s not about where he signed or didn’t sign it’s about what they did or did not do. How can I be more clear about that it’s not that hard really.

When all you have is to talk about where he went or didn’t go that just proves you have nothing to retort the facts that I’m saying. You have nothing but to say but about where he landed when it’s irrelevant, what did they do when he was here, nothing but give him “weapons” no offensive line, no running game, no defense, no kicker.

Yes JimmyJack AP didn’t sign here because we didn’t sign him because that’s the whole point I’m trying to make we didn’t do anything to help our last quarterback.

  47. JimmyJack Says:

Jerk everything you just said is all proof that Ndog was wrong about Winston. It just is what it is. He’s a demoted now back up QB. Cant play good and consistent enough to even compete for a job…..This always change in Sports but for the next year, maybe more, Ndog been proven wrong……To be fair I was a Winston fan and was wrong as well.

But for some weirdo reason this guy so smashed in the head he thinks he’s being proven right day by day…..Its speechless really.

Hey for what it’s worth this guy was lapping up Bruce’s words whenever he was making some excuses for Winston to the press…Ndog was quoting him all day when it was words in his favor. Now that Bruce says stuff against Ndogs opinion he lashes out and calls names………Hypocrisy at its finest.

The guy is becoming more and more deranged in his opinions. ……But when all the dust settles he factually is wrong and always was……..But just like a politician you can always make a excuse to try and cover up the most blatant of infractions……Its called the easy way out. Spinless

  48. jerk04 Says:

Moron talking about where he signed proves the point he isn’t what you say he is. If he was as good as YOU think he is then he at least one other franchise would have seen it. You cant explain why nobody else signed him as a starter or even a primary back up can you? I know it was Arians fault he isn’t a starter somewhere else. Its crazy how delusional you are.

  49. Ndog Says:

These aren’t opinions these are facts, I don’t know how you can see it any other way. Did we sign people then no, are we signing them now yes those are facts not opinions.

Name the quality veteran running back we signed in Jameis is 5 years here?
Named the offensive lineman that we drafted in the first round in Jameis’s years here?
Name the run blocking tight end we brought in as a free agent during Jameis’s years here?

  50. Ndog Says:

Jimmy Jack I admitted a long time ago I was dead wrong about Arains I was super excited when they hired him then I realized very quickly he was full of crap and he was a liar and he proved to be the case then and he continued to be the case now. I knew the second he said are running backs are fine on our secondary fix he was full of crap and he hasn’t stopped lying since.

  51. gotbbucs Says:

    @Ndog

Signing free agents is a two way street. Who says they weren’t trying to make moves to improve the roster last year but players didn’t want to come? Signing Fournette last year would have cost the team at least twice as much. Does Gronk come out of retirement to play with Winston? Hell no.

Winston had zero recruiting draw. Players around the league knew his game and didn’t want to be a part of it. Players want to win, Winston is not a NFL winner. Real recognizes real.

This team right now has the drawing power to get good players to come and play for a 3rd of what the market says they are worth, and you want to cry about it.

  52. JimmyJack Says:

Ndog AP didnt sign here and you used him as a example of a player who wanted to come here and play with Winston.

The problem is he didnt sign here…….So how in the heck is that your example? He didnt come here fool. He didnt choose Winston…..He chose a better offense a better coach and a better QB…..You see the logic? Of course you dont your freaking irrational…….So he wanted to play for Winston so bad he snubbed him……..What a stupid freaking point you just made…….if you even had one.

  53. Jmarkbuc Says:

“ When all you have is to talk about where he went or didn’t go that just proves you have nothing to retort“

Thing is, dumb ass… no one cares but you.

    #clipboardholder

  54. Couch Fan Says:

You have nothing but to say but about where he landed when it’s irrelevant, what did they do when he was here, nothing but give him “weapons” no offensive line, no running game, no defense, no kicker.
    ———-

Thats because this is an ignorant statement. And only credible in your mind. The Bucs upgraded parts of the team every year that the Saints 3rd string QB was here. They upgraded all those parts of the team, drafted a kicker and RB, signed O-lineman. Did every acquisition work? No. And not all the acquisitions may work this year either. But continue with your inaccurate, “They did nothing for Jameis” BS.

  55. El Buco Realisto Says:

What a clown ole stale biscuit is!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess he does not “give a sh!+ about being a sloppy penalized team either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    go bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  56. JimmyJack Says:

Ndog I’ll name the RB we signed here……AP…….Yep the guy we wanted that chose to play for a better QB.

Ill tell you the lineman……Sweezy…….The guy who came to take a year off.

And you want a run blocking TE? Dude you dont know a thing about this team if you think Dirk Koetter was looking for run blocking from his TEs…….I swear Winston destroyed you as a fan bro. His roller coaster ride was too much for you to handle.

  57. Couch Fan Says:

are we signing them now yes those are facts not opinions.
    ——–
This is a flat out lie to say Bucs didnt sign anyone. You are now flat out lying to prop Winston on a pedestal just so you can slurp on his nads a little bit easier. Just pathetic… LMAO

  58. Buczilla Says:

I love how candid this dude is sometimes, but it’s time to put up, or shut up.

  59. JimmyJack Says:

Gotbucs…..Its nonsense to even argue about signing a RB last year. Its irrational nonsense. Anybody crying we didnt sign a RB last year is completely clueless.

Its not hard to see what the plan was last year. To fix the defense. It’s what we had to do to switch to 3-4 and also because Bowles inherited a historically awful defense……We had to put all our assets into the defense if we wanted to prepare this team to win……And that bears out in all the signings they made and the way they draft.

It is very very simple to see what the plan was. Unbelievable somebody is upset a year later we didnt draft a RT last year when our defense was vomit inducing.

  60. Ndog Says:

    ⬆️

So there it is finally so It is crystal clear to everyone that our quarterback last year had to sacrifice himself and get kicked off the team because we had an inept defense the first half of last year and no running game, no kicker. He’s the one that gets kicked out cuz we all know if we had a defensive first half of last year we would have won 10 probably even 11 games and he would still be here yet he gets ripped here daily by people saying it was his fault when it’s obvious, including the post above, that he wasn’t the problem I think I made my point, Thanks Jimmy Jack.

  61. jerk04 Says:

I love the way PUP cheery picks his question. Name a first round line man bucs signed name a blocking TE in FA name a defensive player we signed in FA. Draft position often dictates what player you are taking.

They LOADED Winston with weapons. and he couldnt take advantage.,

The year Winston was drafted we selected 2 line man to protect him. Brought in one of the best centers in the league. Used our first overall to get him the best TE in the draft. Loaded him with WR’s. Signed D Jackson who went off with Fitz but Winston couldn’t connect with. On defense brought in a ton of talent on the line and LB in draft and FA.

You try and narrow down the field with your stupid questions to fit your narrative. And we had to overpay for some of those guys cause nobody wants to play for a turnover machine. Your guy failed. Plain and simple. Great players make everybody around them great. Look at the OL Brady played with. They were great when he played with them and once they left in FA and got big dollars they failed. Your guy didnt make anybody around him better. Some were great in spite of him.

Answer my question. If your guy is as amazing as you think he is why dint one other team see that? Just answer that question and try to keep a straight face as you type your BS.

You and Big House who is actually funny, unlike you, love quoting his stats. Fitz had amazing stats the games he started because of the weapons and system. Yet you never want to talk about that. Players wanted to play for Fitz and were pissed when they brought Winston back. Then lost the job to him aagin. Your boy is a failure, plain and simple. No go back to sniffing his jock and leave everybody else alone to get excited to have a great team, and a HOF QB and an even better person at that position. BYE BYE PUP

  62. Couch Fan Says:

Once again your point is false. The Saints 3rd string QB didnt get kicked off the team because of his turn over issue. The same turnover issue he’s had since college. All he had to do was NOT turn the ball over more than anyone else in the league and he couldn’t do it. I love how you give him credit for all the positives but completely ignore the turnovers. Once again Ndummy showing how pathetic he truely has become.

  63. Couch Fan Says:

    QB got kicked off*

  64. BacktaBucs! Says:

I waited impatiently for years for Winston to get booted out of Tampa Bay. I never expected how much better Ndog’s reactions/post would make it feel!

N’Dog’s the guy that is still screaming that Betamax is superior. Carriages are better than cars. Taxi cabs were heads and tails better than this Uber nonsense (wait maybe NDog prefers I don’t mention Uber).

  65. JimmyJack Says:

I’m all good if you think what I said was some divine wisdom that proves you are right.

The facts will stand where they lay. Fartbrain QB who pushed for an all time INT record. Made so many boneheaded choices he got himself demoted……….We can back and forth all day but that fact will hold its ground.

Points fingers here and there. That’s not how it works. It is possible to evaluate each position seperatly…….A concept you apparently got no idea about………But at the end of the day that’s exactly what happened. Bruce coach this team and said we need to upgrade this position and that……And I’m sure he was pleased with some positions……all separate evaluations.

The verdict is in and Bruce said I cant win no ring with that QB. And now he’s irrevelant……..And it probably mistly came down to one game. The Texans game. Cause in the NFL alks you get is one game…….In a way ya only get one drive.

  66. JimmyJack Says:

You put a real FG kicker on this team and that Texans game is for a playoff berth……No it wasnt for a playoff but if you go back to the vibe of this team and fanbase from that time that game meant a lot.

You telling me that’s the performance we can expect from a QB in a meaningful game? Do you really think you can win a title with that crap? Winston proved he is nowhere near being able to carry a team to a title. It was a freaking joke man……And for you to up and excuse a performance like that shows you have dirt for standards. You dont know a thing about football to excuse that pile of crap.

All good if you wanna still think the guy can have hope to finish his career strong……but no….you wanna play like you know better. Pretending like we all stupid…….Well guess what mumcambo? We all saw that game and saw Winston play like a rookie with brain damage…….it was freaking embarassing…….We all saw the same thing Bruce did which is why Winston was fired.

Your the lone fool that dont get it.

  67. gotbbucs Says:

    @Ndog

I hope you’re trolling because nobody is this ignorant.

Tell me how throwing interceptions on the first play of the game has anything to do with the rest of the roster? Tell me how the defensive players standing on the sideline forced Winston to throw pop flies on the boundary that got returned for 6 over and over again?

    Get real.

Winston could have had any number of HOF running backs behind him and he was still going to make lazy reads and float out routes for pick-6’s.

Building on Winston is building on quicksand!

  69. Clean House Says:

    I agree with nDog

There was no urgency to get JW the pieces he needed.
Jason Licht could have gotten Adrian Peterson but refused.
In fact he was training with our offense that offseason over in Houston and the guys were building chemistry and really excited.

Shocking, the other genius clean house agrees with PUP. Never would have seen that coming from another Winston nut hugger

Clean…please…let’s get the history right. Actually most thought Peterson was pretty much washed up. As I remember, I was among the few that thought he would be a good signing. Many fans thought he was all washed up. I don’t remember that even Joe thought it was a good pickup at the time. So don’t say that he was an obvious improvement on what we had in the running game.

Jameis was just another guy that we needed to upgrade. And we had our chance and did so. Let’s let it rest at that.

  73. Aceofaerospace Says:

If you guys would just ignore him, he’ll return to the Saints fan page.

  74. Asdf Says:

People wonder why Joe still talks about Winston.

Massively polarizing on the boards, creates a ton of engagement and drives ad revenue.

If you want winston to stop being mentioned, just walk away from the keyboard. Otherwise the Joe’s will feed this rage money machine as long as they can

  75. Oneilbucs Says:

youngbucs This is not how you build a team bro . You don’t build a team with a 43 year old quarterback and a bunch of players that has 1 year deals bro and they are old . Building the defense you have to start with the defensive line first . Then you start with the offensive line wich I like the pick with the offensive line . You always build inside out .

  76. DoooshLaRue Says:

    Ok Howard.

I could see some talent in Jameis; he had a good strong arm and given enough time, he was decently accurate. However, a big part of the game is tempo, so hanging on to the ball too long results in sacks and fumbles. He was definitely guilty of that. It also resulted in the offense taking a beating trying to keep the defense from busting Jameis’ ass. Another big part of the game is the ability to read the defense. I’m sorry dude, but JW failed miserably at that. That’s half the reason he hung on to the ball, cuz he was trying to figure it out. I don’t think he took advantage of what was available in the off season; KNOWLEDGE. That’s why QB’s like Brady and Rogers and Mahomes are as good as they are. They eat and sleep football. They watch hours and hours of film. They study defenses. They seek out knowledge from coaches and players who have been successful against other teams’ defensive strategies. They spend countless hours and days studying and preparing for their next game. They live and breathe for the game of football. I’m not sure that football was JW’s first love. I’ve not seen anything from him that tells me he has that kind of passion and commitment to the game enough to elevate him to the next level. It’s just my opinion, but I don’t think JW will be able to conquer the mental aspects of football.

I’m really not trying to bash you or Jameis. I wish him well with his new team. But when you talk about him not having any weapons, my mind keeps going to Evans and Godwin. Two of the best WR’s in the league. Barber, RoJo, Scotty Miller, Brate, Howard. All great players. I agree with the kicker situation, but that doesn’t play any part in 30 interceptions. Tom Brady won the superbowl with less weapons than Jameis had in any of the five years he played with the Bucs. Hopefully, Jameis will figure out why he didn’t succeed with the team and what he needs to do to fix it.
