Ex-Bucs QB talks Tom Brady.
Yesterday, Joe brought a video to readers’ attention of FS1 sports personality Colin Cowherd leading a bandwagon of folks thinking the Bucs will make the Super Bowl this year.
One Cowherd colleague at FS1 isn’t climbing on board.
FS1 and SiriusXM Radio talking head Nick Wright doesn’t see a whole lot of changes for the Bucs, except perhaps a lesser offense than last year. That’s right.
Wright, in a PFF tribe video, was asked if the Bucs would have the No. 1 offense this year. He recoiled at such a thought.
“I would be shocked if they had the No. 1 offense,” Wright said. “… I am more bearish on Brady. I clearly think he is on the downslope. And I think the Bucs, record-wise, are not going to be drastically improved from last year.”
Former Tampa Bay quarterback Bruce Gradkowski didn’t exactly buy in to Wright’s words about Brady, but he too thinks the Bucs’ offense will take a step back, offering that the Bucs ought to be a “top-10” offense.
For background, the Bucs had the No. 1 passing offense last year and even with a woeful run game, were good enough to be a No. 3 offense overall.
“He’s going to have a good offensive line around him,” Gradkowski said of Brady. “He has weapons around. I don’t see him being the No. 1 offense overall this season but definitely a top-10.”
Unless Brady ages before our very eyes, Joe just cannot see the Bucs being the No. 10 offense this year. If RoJo is as improved as Bucco Bruce Arians claims he is, and with the addition of Shady McCoy, just how are defenses supposed to stop this team short of turnovers?

Well clean house, Winston Always admitted it was HIS FAULT and that IT IN DEED WAS ON HIM…
Drug addicts also admit they are drug addicts but THAT doesn’t change the FACT that they WILL INDEED be needing and looking for drugs every single day.
Just a comparison but why would we be better off keeping the guy who admits he loses the game and is a turn over machine?

If we look at Net value of offense. 33 TDs and 30 INTs doesn’t give you a whole lot of net value in offensive production. Granted people around here do not realize this and have extreme cognitive dissonance worse then anything I have ever seen around here.

I believe Winston will be one of the best in the league eventually…and I’m almost certain he will get a ring.
However, I’m not upset we now have Brady.Not one bit.
I do believe the Bucs need a follow-up plan though.

See, this is the part that some just can’t comprehend. Where you are ranked offensively has ZERO importance. Great, we threw the ball from here to Timbuktu! The result? Nada.
I would rather us be 30th and have the wins. And before you try to scold me, YES I do realize there is a correlation between offensive production and winning. My point being that a 3rd place offense was not a clutch/winning offense.
Brady won’t throw for 5,000 yards! Who cares?! That is not sustainable anyway, and lopsided to boot. He also will not turn the ball over at a high rate either.
I’ll trade “3 yards and a cloud of dust” for high-flying top 5 offense if it means we are winning.

If I recall, of the top 5 QBs in total passing yards in the NFL last year, NONE of them made the playoffs. Oh, it was the poor D or the lack of run game you say. Well, 4 of the 5 were in the top 6 in the league in INTs, with Winston leading the way…by far.

@Bonzai, Winston easily had one of the best receiving squads in the NFL. I’d bert you agree there. As a turnover machine, he’s up there with guys like Rivers, Goff, Prescott, and Ryan, who also threw for a heap of yards last year. So what makes you think, after 5 years he will be the best in the league? How can he possibly be better than guys like Pat Mahomes? I just don’t see it. Were he two or three years n, maybe, but not only has he not improved, as time goes on he’s shown he won’t improve.

This is why if we don’t get to the superbowl this was a bad move to bring Brady in . All I’ve heard that every lost was Jamies fault so with Brady it’s a garoteain superbowl appearance . Remember Brady is going to make the defense a number 1 defense and Brady is going to make the offensive line like the Cowboys of the 90s . Brady is going to make Ro Jo a 1,800 yards rusher . Brady going to give us the best kicker in the NFL . And Brady going to us the best kick returning in the NFL as well . This is the mindset of our fan base 1 guy is going to make all this happen . This is why the Bucs has been at the bottom for over 10 years and yall still don’t understand that defense wins championships .. I know Patrick Mahomes gets all the credit but their defense was good last year especially in the playoffs they stepped up when they needed to and they ran the ball when they wanted to .

His coach is not like Bruce Arians who believes my way or the highway . His coach puts him in position to win by putting his playbook around his hold team what they do best . That’s why he had to go. He did all of this to himself. Notice o didn’t say losing football games. You know why, because it’s a team game. No 1 overall picks are and should e held to a higher standard. His performance is that of Ryan Fitzpatrick in the NFL. Heck our offense was better with Fitz than JW.
It sucks for every Buc fan that it didn’t work out. But you have to be daft to think he was going to suddenly turn it around in yr 6 and become a great situational football player.

I seen yall blame him for the Greenbay game and we was winning late in the 4th quarter and Jamies never saw the field after we scored the td to put us in the lead . BUC1987: QB’ s in this league mature, grow, and become better at different times times. I would have expected Mr.5000 to come to camp this season with ball security and turnovers being the most important parts of his game to work on!! youngbucs The quarterback position is the most dependable positions on the field . The eagles won a superbowl with Nick Foles and what happened when he left Philadelphia . What happened to Matt Casell when he left the Patriots . It’s a proven fact that if you can’t play defense or run the ball when you need to you are going to lose . What happened when Drew Brees didn’t have a running game how did those season look . Are what about the Rogers and the Packers with no running game he missed the playoffs twice . Defense will for ever be more important than a offense . I’ve seen good defense and average offense can win a superbowl but a good offense with a bad defense you will not win regardless who the quarterback is . Dan Marino was a prime example of that and Moon and others .

Replace an average quarterback prone to making spectacular plays (both good and bad) with the best ever and these morons think our offense will be worse?!?. Brady is still a top 10 quarterback and I’m guessing that he snubbed Nick and Bruce for an autograph when they were kids or something. That, or they need to lay off the weed or booze before showing up for work. Reading these stories makes me happy that I avoid these talking head shows like the plague.
