Donald Trump Calls Team Glazer “Fantastic People,” Expects Tom Brady To “Surprise A Lot Of People”

“Tom, I’m telling everyone we’re friends. And tell the Glazers you want a raise, the stock market now reminds me of Shaq Barrett.”
It’s not every day that the President of the United States jumps on two radio shows and talks about the Buccaneers.
Perhaps that’s not a good thing. But it’s certainly a fun thing.
This didn’t happen during the Josh Freeman-Mike Glennon-Josh McCown-Jameis Winston-Ryan Fitzpatrick-Jameis Winston era.
President Trump joined something called The Hugh Hewitt Show, a political talk format, and out of the gate was quickly asked about Tom Brady and Bill Belicheat for some reason.
Trump mentioned that Belicheat would be as good as any military general, and then he talked about his good friend Tom Brady amidst a talented Bucs roster..
“Tom, you know, Tom picked a team where they have a very good offensive line and supposedly great receivers, great receivers,” Trump said. “And he did that on purpose. He didn’t pick a team just for the dollars. He picked a team that really supposedly has some real talent that hasn’t quite gotten there, and in a long time. So I think Tom’s going to be an interesting person to watch.”
When Trump joined sports radio man Clay Travis, his Brady chatter included Team Glazer.
“He probably wanted a change,” Trump said. “He wanted a change, and I think he had plenty of teams to go to, and he picked one with – from what I understand – a good offensive line and very good receivers,” Trump said.
“He looked at that closely. I think he probably had other choices where they had players. I think his biggest thing is he wants to win, and from what I know, and I know [Buccaneers] ownership, they’ll do whatever they have to because they are fantastic people – the owners of the team that Tom is on now.
“I think he’s going to do well in Tampa Bay. I think he’ll do well. I don’t know why it would be a surprise, but perhaps it will be. But I think he’s going to surprise a lot of people. I think he’s going to do great.”
Man, Team Glazer has gotten so much darn publicity for the Bucs out of this Brady signing, even more than the last time their quarterback was in the offseason spotlight — for illegal use of the hands in a fast-food drive through.
Joe’s starting to wonder how many Hollywood types, itching for something to do, will be in luxury suites at the Den of Depression for the Bucs’ home opener against Carolina.
Brady seems to be the ultimate magnet.

My experience is totally different. The vast majority of fights I got into or almost got into were under the influence of alcohol. I’ve never had a fight smoking weed…too mellow.
So the ultimate expression of this…decades ago I was covering a Tennessee football game. The crew was hosting a blowout party that night and I was the only “air person” invited. I was honored and looked forward to it.
When my cameraman and I arrived at the party late because of the game…people on the first floor were drinking George Dickel and raising hell…pushing that fight envelope..upstairs the folks were rolling doobies and trying to cop a feel with the young ladies…upstairs has always made more sense to me than downstairs.

I hear ya man. Nothing is set in stone, but the 90% that I referenced above would almost assuredly keep that 10% that was “acting the fool” in check. From my experience (too much fortunately or unfortunately? “Shrug”😀), the dummies trying to start trouble while they were intoxicated were not tolerated.
Hell, booze, weed, whatever, wouldn’t even need to be involved. Get the folks in this thread together for 4 hours with some decent food (Hooters would be sublime) and I would almost guarantee you that we would get along.
I’m sorry that your experiences don’t mirror mine (a few bruhaha’s certainly but nothing too crazy) with booze, but that is what makes people interesting. We all experience different things and get to share them which each other.
