Ryan Jensen No. 87
June 2nd, 2020Prickly Pete Prisco of CBS Sports recently had his annual top-100 players list. Joe already brought you the top Bucs player on Prisco’s list, Tom Brady.
And at No. 87 is Bucs center Ryan Jensen.
You might be surprised to see his name here, but he was really good in his second season with Tampa Bay in 2019. His pass blocking inside will be big for Tom Brady.
Joe fully agrees with Prisco. Jensen was arguably the best lineman on the Bucs last season.
Now two years ago, Jensen was just, well, OK. It was the first year of a contract that at that time made him the highest-paid center. He didn’t exactly live up to his salary in 2018.
Later in the week, Joe will bring you Jensen’s own words explaining why he didn’t have such a great season in 2018 and how and why he bounced back last season.

Wow. And if Wirfs can lock down the the right side. Nice.

A good chunk of the 2018 season was probably due to the fact he played next to the worst starting right guard of the past 5 years in the NFL. It’s Genuinely amazing how bad Benenoch was. There was 0 reason for not starting Cappa after game 4 he was that bad. We could have literally signed Earl Watford off the street and he would have done a better job.

Oline Candidate #1 for the probowl this year.
The National game effect will be huge for many of our players.
In BA I Trust!

I’ve been unable to take Prisco seriously ever since I read his first article. Putting Mike Evans at number 45 on the list mentioned above is just further proof of his buffoonery. I guess he wins though since I still read his damn lists. ðŸ˜

Lol. 45? Evans is in like the top five WR almost every year.

Tampabucsbro- NEVER! You can NEVER utter that name! I have seen cereal boxes block better than that guy! LOL!
Was Jensen “good”? I don’t know. I thought he was OK. Pass blocking shouldn’t be the ONLY measure of an OL. Show us something in the run game, that’s what I ask for this coming season.

I believed BA mentioned in an interview that Jensen was the best on the line last year. If Cappa can improve and build upon his play from last year, and Wirf lives up to his draft stock, we’ll have a top 10 offensive line.

Nice. I thought Jensen had a solid season last year. I’m glad to see he is earning that high salary he is getting.
Now it’s time for LT Smith to step up and do the same…

Here we go again Joe… Can you please tell me what in my last post could have triggered your idiotic software?
Just give me one word that isn’t proper… SMFH!!!
