In the mind of the gang on “Good Morning Football,” seen weekday mornings on NFL Network, Bucs receiver Mike Evans summed it up perfectly.
In just a handful of days while America was locked down at home by “The Sickness,” the Bucs transformed themselves from a franchise largely forgotten and mocked for losing ways in the post-Chucky era to being the talk of the NFL.
All thanks to the signing of Tom Brady.
(The park-violating, home-invading came shortly thereafter.)
TV network suits went from, “Marge, check the fine print on the TV contract. Maybe we can find a way not to waste electricity on this team” to “Damnit Roger Goodell, I need the Bucs every Monday night you can spare!”
Team Glazer could not have planned this better. They couldn’t have dreamed of the run and the splash this team is getting.
It has been the perfect storm. First they got Brady, who probably has the highest Q-score of any NFL player. Then, almost overnight, all sports were shut down due to The Sickness. Suddenly, outside of the NFL draft and free agency, there was virtually nothing to discuss on countless sports TV network hollering shows and sports radio shows — both national and local.
Ira Kaufman even did a hit on Toledo sports radio to talk about the Bucs and Brady. Holy Toledo!
It was the NFL or dead air. And what was news in the NFL world? First it was Brady signing with the Bucs. Then it was the Bucs trading for Rob Gronkowski.
How the Bucs became the darlings of the NFL was fodder for chatter on NFL Network this morning.
“They are a household, nationwide team right now,” co-host Peter Schrager, a closet Bucs fan, said.
In fact, folks who don’t like the Bucs are going to have a rough offseason, Schrager predicted. He noted Bucs chatter is just starting.
Now the question is, will the NFL season start on time?

My wife came off the golf course wearing a Buc hat…….a golfer confronted her and stated……”So now that Brady is there, you’re a Buc fan”……she said, actually…..No, I’ve been a fan since I married my husband in 1981….”….he didn’t believe her….so he said….OK…..who was the Buc’s first Quarterback….she said…

2020 doesnt understand that Trump is owned by the King and Prince of Saudi Arabia and doesnt care about them (the people) at all. What civil or human rights has Trump expanded or protected? Name one legal or legislative ACTION to protect the second amendment. Not just words and talking points…like he did in Virginia. ACTIONS! Good luck with that search. lol

dumbnuts….congress legislates, not the Pres….he removed some of 44’s oil drilling regulations, making the US the top oil-producing country in the world (Saudi’s hated it so much they tried to ruin our domestic drilling by opening up their spigots a few months back attempting to tank the price per barrel)…if you’re feeling like your “rights” are being trampled upon during this over hyped pandemic, then talk to your governor, mayor and county commish. 45 isn’t perfect, but he’s a hell of a lot better than the alternative.
