Sore subject for Tom Brady
Cameron Brate isn’t ready to needle Tom Brady yet, but Peyton Manning had no problem doing it today.
As the two warmed up before The Match II, a charity golf event that saw the duo of Brady and Phil Mickelson lose by one stroke to Manning and Tiger Woods, Manning got in a little trash talk to a reporter with Brady standing within earshot.
Manning was asked who he would have liked to bring as his caddy, if they were allowed for the event. The legendary QB only seemed interested in getting Brady’s head.
First he suggested Brady would have chose Rob Gronkowski to caddy for him because Gronk is his lapdog. “Because Gronk does whatever Tom asks him to do. Gronk go wrestle. Take a year off. Come play in Tampa with me later. Caddy for me.”
Manning then said it’s hard to get in Brady’s head. “Do you bring Eli [Manning to caddy]? Could do that. Do you bring Nick Foles? Maybe.”
Brady then piped in after he heard Foles’ name. “That’s a cheap shot.”
Manning continued and said the caddy he really would have wanted is Bill Belicheat to rub Brady the wrong way.
“I would have loved that,” Brady said of hid old coach caddying for Manning. “That wouldn’t have got in my head.”
Perhaps the most interesting barely-football-related nugget to come out of broadcast was the on-air chatter that before the event Brady played 18 holes, did a workout and then ran in the parking lot of the South Florida course. It’s seems like he likes the Florida heat, which bodes well Bucs fans.

Manning has the best personality out of so many athletes. It’s crazy that the athlete with the least personality is his brother. Without Peyton, that game was a snore. You either need trash talk or fans to hype a game nd his personality rubbed off on all 3 of them.

You missed the best joke of the day when Eli tweeted the quote from Bill Murray in Caddie Shack. I’d keep playing the heavy stuff isn’t even here yet. Eli seems like the quiet ahh shucks Manning, but that was a well timed funny tweet yesterday.

Agree, It was really cool to have something live to watch! I loved being able to hear all the conversations. I know having fans is a huge money maker but its kind of cool to not have all the yayhoos yelling and just be able to listen to these guys.

Yeah I saw that blast from Manning Hodad, it made me spew part of my Amber Ale when I saw it, must’ve been on the 15th or so hole, right before Russell Wilson donated 300K meals as everyone but Eldrick got withing 12 feet on that par 3. It was fun to watch something live for a change. Liked hearing old Charles Barkley chime in as well asking for golf tips.

Was fun to watch before work. Loved how it was raining, got a hole in one while golfing in the rain in the pnw. Wish I could of watched it all afternoon
