“I Would Have Crawled To That Workout”
May 31st, 2020Hall of Fame receiver Michael Irvin has been a busy man scrutinizing the Buccaneers.
It’s like the thing to do these days — to be Bucs fans because you’re rooting for Tom Brady and the Bucs have so many damn weapons you just have to watch.
Joe caught Irvin on WFAN radio in New York and Irvin had a fun take after seeing reports and pictures of Tom Brady leading private workouts with teammates in Tampa.
Irvin particularly didn’t like seeing Chris Godwin absent from the pictures that emerged, or even other Bucs who didn’t make it. In Irvin’s mind, they should have at least been nearby to worship and watch Lord Brady.
“I would have crawled to that workout,” Irvin said, referring specifically to Godwin.
Yeah, Irvin noted Godwin might have had a great reason for his absence, and Irvin is a Godwin fan. But he said going forward every Bucs receiver should adopt a motto of “You throw, I go,” when it comes to Brady working out with a football.
As Joe has written previously, it’s downright stunning how seemingly everyone, everywhere, has a microscope on the Bucs.
Irvin wants the Bucs to win big but doubts they’ll be able to unseat the Saints, and he thinks they’ll have a rough road in a loaded NFC.
Irvin added he hopes Brady gets the inner satisfaction that will come from a strong year after leaving Bill Belicheat’s bosom. “Just to give him that peace,” Irvin said.

Better watch out, Michael…….Joe will dub you “workout-crawlin'”

Sure, but legally they were at the max # of players that could’ve been there per Florida law.
Not exactly. 10 guys sitting on bleachers 50 yards away and rotating in wouldn’t exactly be one group of 20 congregating. –Joe

Ten here, ten there, not sure how the ordinance is written but I think TB has the right idea…..
Don’t antagonize the authorities anymore!
Even if only to save Joe some virtual ink when reporting on him.

Godwin had an interview where he talked about his grandmother having COVID and he was with her so, I’m assuming he didn’t want to infect anyone without being tested first.

I thought Godwin was in South Africa?

Godwin ain’t got no rock to crawl for, Mike. Put down the pipe. I highly doubt you and TMZ and BSPN have no clue how many other practices Tom has had than Berkley. I hope Tom has the offense practicing and working out In some way or another on and off field.
If anyone was thinking different, I think Tom really wants it this year.

Hey guys hope you all are safe in Buccaneer land. I wanted to take just a few minutes to tell you guys something I am not sure that you know. My family is very deep with the Buccaneers. If you witnessed the 2019 draft, the young man who selected Devin White as our first draft pick is my nephew and he passed away from his cancer a few months back. My family has been around the Buccaneers all of our lives and it was a great honor to see him up there at the podium picking Devin with Big Nasty’s beads on. I only mention this to you folks so you realize who I am and to explain what ended up happening to him. If you google In the current/Kacey Reynolds you will see what ended up happening during his unbelievable experience with our favorite team. I also wanted to say that the Buccaneers are truly the best team in the NFL. God Bless Kacey RIP. GO BUCS!!!

@Mort, don’t confuse number of people gathering with Florida law. None of that is law–it’s an executive order and eminates from CDC/WHO recommendations. Yeah, prudent to follow it, but it only carries weight under a Governor’s emergency “powers.” However, under the same guidelines, if they maintain social distanciing, there is nothing to even be critical of, other than by those who just want to control people.
Nice to see an article without all the pre-cursor names for Brady.
