Wirfs The Monster

April 24th, 2020

Beast.

The Bucs already have a defensive lineman who is beastly strong in Vita Vea.

In fact, on one remote South Pacific island, Vea has legendary status for lifting boulders that few natives have ever seen hoisted.

It seems now Vea may have competition for who has the most ox-like strength on the Bucs.

Behold video of new Bucs offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs tossing around weights that could hold the size of two smallish NFL linebackers.

This dude Wirfs is just a freak. That’s all there is to it.

Enjoy!

Great Pick… should be stellar for years

Now we need a RB, S, DT, G/C, WR, QB

    In THAT order

  2. 813bucboi Says:

    beast indeed…

he’ll get plenty of practice with speed rushers against SHAQ…..

i like the video of him jumping out of the pool…that was amazing…lol…

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  3. 541BucsFan Says:

813, Good call. He’ll get Shaq and JPP in practice. Should get him ready for the real thing.

  4. Ivan The Insider Says:

I think we’re finally going to see a major improvement to our Running Game. This guy has the athleticism to really maul people. He still has some improvement to make, but once he gets a bit more polished he could really help open up some big holes on that right side that Dotson never could.

  5. SkBucsFan Says:

The guy is a monster for sure. He stated he saw the record for the hang clean everyday posted in the gym and decided as a freshman that he was going to break that record. And he did! BA needs to show him a Lombardy and tell him not to touch but to go get his own.

  6. SkBucsFan Says:

    “Lombardi”

  7. Perimeter Blocker Says:

Looks like Tarzan! Please don’t play like Jane!

  8. james west Says:

wow prediction, perennial pro bowler after a couple seasons, maybe all pro, but we will see i could be wrong but hoping for the best, and him jumping out of that pool, man unbelievable, if i had not seen it with my own eyes, i would not have believed it

  9. DanBucsFan Says:

As much as we probably don’t want to do this, we gotta give Licht and B.A. credit where credit is deserved. The roster is arguably top 5 in the Nfl, and that is REAL.

  10. Sarasota Garey Says:

Hopefully it all translates to the field.

  11. Tampabuscsbro Says:

get a safety or Epenesa if he falls there. THEN get our running back in round 3.

  12. bucshot Says:

What a time to be a Bucs fan…..feels like Christmas baby!

  13. ©MadMax Says:

I still cant believe he fell out of the top 10 and we landed him.

But here’s the deal big strong men….all that weight is going to wear on your cartilage over time. Try to go easy in the weight room and dont get caught up in competitions. Be strong but be wise! Save the heavy for the field!

  14. Bucco bruce Says:

Joe, from what I hear wirfs will take over Donovan Smith’s Left end spot and Smith will move to the right end.did you here the same.Tampaaa

  15. SOEbuc Says:

Let’s not forget going up against man-beast Iowa teammate OLB Anthony Nelson in practice. That’s great practice for Nelson.. Excited to see what Nelson can do with more snaps in his sophomore year.

  16. Rod Munch Says:

Licht has done a good job picking o-lineman so I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt here, but this guy doesn’t look like a tackle to me, he looks like a guard. I know there have been reports that he might end up being a guard, but just physically looking at him, he looks like a guard. His numbers however are very good, being 6′ 5″ and 320, but he doesn’t look that tall or big, not sure where the disconnect is. I’m not the only one, Warren Sapp asked if his arms look short, which again is what I thought, but his combine measurements are fine. Again, not criticizing the move, Licht has done a good job scouting these offensive lineman, so I shall defer to him and the experts, but just throwing the thoughts in my head out there.

  17. Joe Says:

Smith will move to the right end

News to Joe and am sure that is news to Donovan Smith.

Joe isn’t sure how many times he has to repeat/write/say it, but Smith told Joe years ago that he cannot play right tackle.

Now the Bucs could move on from Smith next year. Do know the Bucs’ opinion of Smith is different than fans’ opinion of Smith.

Pretty sure the Bucs want to confirm Wirfs can play tackle on the NFL level first. Seems premature to want to dump Smith for a guy who has never taken a snap in the NFL.

  18. 1nebuc Says:

    @bucco Bruce and @joebucfan

I heard this morning that we can expect for him to compete at left tackle and beating Smith out and then Smith moving Smith to the right side. I wanna say it was Bucky Brooks or Louis Riddick who said it.

  19. ItzOK Says:

It makes me wonder why the bucs don’t sign one of the strongest men competitors. Oh that’s right because they Don’t have the feet or agility to play tackle. So instead you over draft them and they have to play guard. They can still resign Dotson cant they? I have a feeling the Bucs will need him.

  20. Doctor Stroud Says:

The Bucs might take the “platoon” approach to the draft and select another Tackle, but then again, that didn’t work out too well for INXS-lovin’ Bucs ex-GM Mark Dominick. Like most things, it only works if you know what you’re doing. Original Sin!

  21. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

I dislocated both elbows watching that video!

  22. Jason Mclaurin Says:

Wirfs speed and strength is a can’t miss for a LT. Right now it looks as they drafted him to play RT or G though. IMHO he should replace D. Smith. If I were Arians I would ask Smith to move to RG or trade him if he isn’t willing to be a team player and make the move. We need team first guys right now for this All In team

  23. gracelivin Says:

Wirfs has played all but 3 snaps of his football career at RT, Donovan Smith is plenty serviceable at LT, I have coached for many years and most ya’ll just like to complain. One thing you tell linemen is to not chase after missing a block as it usually results in a penalty especially in the run game, you just move on and look for another man to block. I do agree he doesn’t do this as well as I would like but he does make most of his blocks and protects pretty well in Passpro. Does he get beat yes but every tackle in history gets beat at times especially with a QB who holds the ball.

  24. DaBux Says:

Best part of his profile? He’s nasty.

We need more nasty on our team.

  25. Bucco bruce Says:

    Thanks Joe and 1 nebuc.

  26. teacherman777 Says:

We still have “rock feet” Cappa!!

    Another safety? Another RB?

We wontbe build the best O-Line in the NFC South?

    Why??

Cappa needs 2 more years to develop on the bench!

Hes too tall and slow to play guard!!!
