So, About Vegas
April 24th, 2020Thursday night was supposed to be one of the most special nights in Las Vegas history.
Given what that town has seen in its days — Sinatra, Rickles, Dean Martin, Jay Leno, the Stanley Cup Finals, championship boxing matches too many to count and then (ahem) other entertainment Sin City has to offer — last night was supposed to be the icing on the cake.
It was to be a giant party on the Strip to celebrate the NFL’s debut in Vegas as the Raiders just moved there. And the massive party was also to celebrate the NFL draft.
Joe knows suits that work for MGM Resorts and Joe was told that upwards of 600,000 people were expected to cram into Sin City.
But then came The Sickness.
Vegas will get its draft party, in 2022 the NFL announced.
New Bucs offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs admitted tonight to the Bucs’ pen and mic club that he and his family were stoked about going to Vegas. But since they couldn’t go, Wirfs said he and his family tried to bring a little bit of Vegas to his east-central Iowa hometown, Mount Vernon. Population 4,506.
And yes, looking at the background of this video, it sure does look like smalltown Iowa.

Wanted CEH sooo much.
Tough to imagine he would have made it to us at #2

Bring out the red carpet for Wirfs!

Joe
“Thursday night was supposed to be one of the most special nights in Las Vegas history.”
Is it me or did we steal the 2021 Super Bowl from Las Vegas when they didn’t think they’d have time for the stadium. NFL history is going to be made at Ray Jay on February 7, 2021 🙂
April 24th, 2020 at 12:23 am
Rams. Vegas has yet to be awarded a Super Bowl.

Hoping we can get a running back in the draft, trade OJ to Jax and the 7th round for Fournette
April 24th, 2020 at 12:29 am
We need Anthony McFarland Jr in the 3rd. Watch this guys highlights. Kids has the speed and can catch outta the backfield
April 24th, 2020 at 12:33 am
Bleacher gave bucs an A + for Wirfs
He even played more right tackle so perfect need filled
Its a shame about Clyde . Dang chiefs got richer .
Think we go BC or FSU running back now
April 24th, 2020 at 12:36 am
There’s four more rbs that are good…who cares! We got the biggest freak in the draft!
April 24th, 2020 at 12:46 am
Bucs MUST trade up if they’re going to get a game-changing RB otherwise they’ll be stuck with the 5th or worse ranked RB in the draft. I posted this earlier in the week. That’s the one problem with thinking you’ll sit back and get a stud RB in the 2nd. It’s not happening at the 13th pick of the 2nd round.
There will be a massive run on RBs in the 2nd round tomorrow night. Bucs have to be willing to move up if they’re going to grab a back that’s not just a big gamble.
They should trade up for Swift or Taylor and be done with it.

Agreed Bird, looking good so far. Started when we moved on from QB
April 24th, 2020 at 1:29 am
I’m not against moving up to get the back they want but I don’t think many of those 12 teams picking before the Bucs have a big need at Rb. Maybe NE and Miami. JK Dobbins looks like the most complete back to me in this draft. However I think Swift will probably be the next back picked.

Thanks for the correction Joe. But still. History at Ray Jay in 2021.

4 Safeties and 3 Rb’s in best 25 left. We will get one
April 24th, 2020 at 1:49 am
I’m hoping for Swift. Fingers crossed, he’s my favorite of all the rbs.

I will be the first to say this Joe:
With GB drafting QB Love, I will predict when TB retires in 2 years that by then some of the best free agents will have come on board to join TB. Licht will then hand the keys of that Buccaneer juggernaut of a team over to Rodgers by trading with GB and taking on the last 2 years of his contract.
Why not? Rodgers will only be 39 in 2 years, a lot younger than Brady is now. Then finally, we long suffering Buccaneer fans can have 5-6 years in a row of the Bucs being perennial contenders. What a great offseason this has been so far, now go get us a RB Licht and Let’s Go Bucs!

Bucs biggest NEED at this point is RB. Right now we’ve got RoJo and … uhhh, pretty much it. There are several quality RBs who SHOULD be available when we pick in Rnd 2. Simple … grab one.
Then in Rnd 3 draft a DLineman (DT or DE). Move some money around after the draft or trade someone and pick up a veteran Safety in FA who can start opposite Whitehead.
April 24th, 2020 at 8:38 am
Go get me winfield Jr in the second rd. I want that jamal adams type of safety to solidify the defense. RB’s are a dime a dozen
