Report: NFL May Come After Bucs

April 24th, 2020

NFL to bust Bucs?

It seems Bucs quarterback Tom Brady’s innocent goof of driving to a wrong address may cost the Bucs right in the Team Glazer wallet.

Now Joe mentioned yesterday by way of the creator, curator and overall guru of Pro Football Talk, the great Mike Florio, how certain people within NFL circles were not happy that Brady was going to visit Bucs offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich ostensibly to work out, but walked into the wrong house.

The dude who owned the house told (sold?) his story to TMZ and it went from being unknown to internationally known in minutes.

This got folks with the NFL peeved, Florio noted.

Now the NFL is involved.

Per heavy metal headbanging Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, several teams complained to NFL warden Roger Goodell about Brady’s slip-up and as a result, La Canfora hints the NFL is coming after the Bucs.

Usually such “discipline” involves forfeiture of cash. As in six- or seven-figures.

For example, a decade ago during the NFL lockout, against explicit orders from the NFL not to communicate with players, then-Bucs coach Raheem Morris went on local radio and bragged about how he called dirtbag tight end Kellen Winslow.

Joe assumes Winslow wasn’t using a hands-free device to field the call.

Morris was slapped with a $250,000 fine by Goodell.

Of course, the unannounced walk-in by Brady came days after one of Tampa mayor Jane Castor’s goons ran Brady out of a park where he tried to work out.

Brady has been in Tampa barely over a month and already there have been two incidents, one which might hit Team Glazer square in the savings account.

Gee, Joe doesn’t remember Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, costing Team Glazer any petty cash.

What if they suspend him? He has a history already. Would be fitting for the Bucs.

  2. Aceofaerospace Says:

No Mr Pick-6 only cost the Glazers’ wins.

  3. Rod Munch Says:

Tom Brady has really become ‘Florida Man’ since he got here…

He’s already been confronted by the authorities for daring to be outdoors during a lock-down, and he’s committed a home invasion. Good thing that home invasion wasn’t in Polk County or we’d be resigning Winston right now.

  4. Jerk04 Says:

Winston sure did cost the Glazer’s cash. He cost the glazers money by many fans refusing to attend games because of Winston’s character and crimes. Butts in the seat equal cash to the glazers. Time to move on. Last line was completely unnecessary. Move on Joe. Your man crash flamed out and is jobless. You were wrong about it like a lot or other QBs you slobbered over.

Focus on the players we have Joe. Plenty great ones For you to focus on these days.

  5. John Says:

Correct. America’s Quaterback, Pro bowler , Jameis Winston only cost the Bucs Yeas of time and money AND WE CAN’T FORGET the large sum of $$$ Winston use to pay off an Uber driver in order for him to not be charged with a felony

  6. Ivan The Insider Says:

I’d prefer my QB to break meetings rules than grab someone’s crotch in an Uber. Just sayin’.

  7. Jon Says:

Maybe this says more about Florida than it does tom. This place is nothing but trouble for a number of reasons. I’ll leave it at that

  8. 813bucboi Says:

    bring it!!!!

when the nfl has it out for brady, he always sticks it to them in the end…

    ask deflatgate

    GO BUCS!!!!

  9. 813bucboi Says:

as a BUCS fan, i love….brady aint just talking the talk…he’s walking the walk…..he trying to win NOW at all cost…..lol…

i can see why other teams are pissed tho…lol…

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  10. Youngbucs Says:

And guess what it’ll be money well spent!!!!!! Go Bucs

  11. ItzOK Says:

Stupid people in this city need to learn to keep their mouths shut. Glazers should embrace the fines and just keep paying them who cares we are trying to win.

  12. JGhotier Says:

Thanks for burying this in all the draft hoopla (even though more eyes are potentially on it, it gets drowned out by more important matters…the NFL Draft), because who really gives a sh!t about this? So dumb…

  13. Youngbucs Says:

You serious joe Winston been a money pit before he was drafted lol

  14. Youngbucs Says:

Can’t even put his face on the stadium you serious ????

  15. Youngbucs Says:

Gotta feed the trolls thou I get it

  16. DBS Says:

Gee I guarantee he cost them a bundle in other ways!!

  17. Ricky Ricardo Says:

Joe, Winston cost them regular cash not petty cash. When half your fan base hates the qb and refuses to go to the game it becomes much worse than the potential fine this may lead to

  18. Rod Munch Says:

The anti-Winston triggered idiots on this board are assuming in how they just can’t think about anything else. Winston lives in their head 24/7. We literally have Tom Brady and Gronk playing here and these dopes post more stuff about the NFL’s leading passer than they do about the new guys in town.

Tells you everything about the weak-minded dullards that are so prevalent here.

  19. Youngbucs Says:

Rod munch do you notice how joe throws them a bone. Had to add the Jameis line and the fact that he did is crazy Winston is a black hole for profits.

  20. alaskabuc Says:

I’m far less concerned with Brady mistakenly entering the wrong house than I am with Jameis putting his hands in the wrong crotch.

  21. Youngbucs Says:

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^ yea I agree

  22. PSL Bob Says:

Really, we’re going to start comparing off-field screw-ups between Winston and Brady? Winston is gone, so forget it. In another article Joe posted today, BA said Brady wants to win at all costs. Remember deflate gate? He’s going to bend the rules where he can. Not what I’d like to see, but at least he’s not stealing or sexually assaulting someone. Let it ride folks!

  23. DBS Says:

Go back a couple articles a see who started it off. Of course. Ndog.

  24. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I wonder if Byron has a mattress in his front yard and a stripper pole in his den.

  25. King C Says:

Joe’s still trolling with the JW as America’s quarterback stuff..

anyway this story is fake news
J.La Canfora has no credibility – he said John Harbaugh was gonna leave the Ravens last year

  26. Pm permanently moderated Says:

I think it gets those clicks. If Joe was writing for clicks, this site would have a much different design in addition to a daily rumors column. Joe writes about what Joe finds interesting. This Brady thing has been a discussion on many national networks. And it’s not only entertaining, it’s interesting. –Joe It’s hard to believe that anyone really thought drafting a wr or lb in the first was a great idea. I mean unless you are a casual fan. Stoking rants is good media ever since Howard stern invented it. Good media, crap football analyses.

  27. Hawk Says:

*If* Brady was heading to Leftwichs’ house, then Leftwich should pay the fine. Not the Glazers. He’s the coach. He should know better, and set an example. Then Licht should drag him over the coals for such a stunt.

  28. I Bleed Pewter Says:

F U Joe, you’re the one who brought attention to this. You butthurt Winston the simpleton apologist. I knew when I read your BS the other day it would bring trouble just by they way you taunted it almost giddy at the fact. I hope the Bucs never give you anymore exclusives. F’n backstabber Nobody’s butthurt. This is a national story on many networks. Joe’s not giddy. Joe cares about adhering to Joe’s mission, to share what Joe finds interesting. If it’s not appreciated, there are many other sites out there that would appreciate your patronage.–Joe

  29. mark2001 Says:

The biggest cost to teams isn’t things like this…though it seems rather foolish. What really costs teams is having starters suspended… that usually costs wins and sometimes disrupts team chemistry. And of course that costs fan ticket sales and attendance, from a more tangible perspective. Just saying.

That being said, it is simply degrees of stupidity.

  30. Clean House Says:

What is the philosophy behind these insane rules?
If people want to talk and practice their craft with each other, they should be allowed to!

Isn’t that part of competition? Working hard for your goal?

The whole premise is quite insane.

  31. Couch Fan Says:

Im fine with this. Brady trying to get with his new coaches early is a great thing. All about eatin those W’s.

  32. TheRealDrew Says:

Well, the stay at home Nazis are everywhere. I kinda get the no contact for player and coach, if the entire NFL is doing that….competitive advantage. Better just be money, not picks.

  33. Miketb19 Says:

I could careless about either of those incidents there both up tight BS anyways put together by people whose a**es are so tight that when they fart only dogs can hear it

There’s no harm in trying to meet your new coach at his home how is that a big deal it’s not people are making it a big deal

And same thing goes for the park thing

It’s all over hyped bs and once Brady starts his beat down of the rest of the league it’s going to be a moot point anyways

Haters gotta have something to hate it’s in there nature

  34. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

America’s Crotch Grabber has already had to pay off two women, er, settle pending litigation without admitting liability. A little different than walking in the wrong house and working out in a park during COVID-19, wouldn’t you say?

  35. permanent_moderation_doghouse Says:

They need to change these f**king rules… I get that the union doesn’t want to set precedents that end up requiring guys to work year round, but they could ease up… Maybe allow each player 1 personal meeting with an assistant coach every few weeks, no physical drills, but give them the ability to keep up on the mental aspect of the game… I mean, don’t these guys get paid enough that giving them some work – like maybe up to 20 hours of playbook and film per week – would be completely reasonable? Still allow them to rest their bodies plenty. But I guess they have a CBA for another 10 years, so this stupidity isn’t gonna change.

  36. DoooshLaRue Says:

    Anywho……. Muncher is all…….

    GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

  37. bucshot Says:

I here for the comments on this one…….and not disappointed!

  38. Steven007 Says:

Rod, it’s what Youngbuc said. Joe simply trolling those guys.

  39. Steven007 Says:

    Doosh, never gets old!

  40. hmm Says:

Guys Guys its ok Brady is white. Nothing to see here

  41. ©MadMax Says:

The Brady hate is even more real now…so much about nothing!! But whatever, hate us all the way to the Superbowl!

BL probably wasnt even home and told Tom to just walk in and get the playbook…smdh.

  42. ©MadMax Says:

    @hmm, go fk urself racebaiter/cardpuller!

  43. TheRealDrew Says:

I guess using the German abbreviation for national socialist gets your comment rejected

  44. Ivan The Insider Says:

    SERIOUS QUESTION…

Since Jameis was mentioned in this article…

Anyone think there’s a real chance that Jameis is on his way OUT OF THE LEAGUE?

I’m happy the Bucs moved on (as a life-long Bucs fan) and I certainly wish Jameis the best elsewhere, BUT…

He has to be concerned that no team is interested yet. The Bucs very well may have been “bidding against themselves” if they ever thought of resigning him to a new contract.

So who here thinks it’s a real possibility that no team signs Winston and he’s not going to make a roster this season?

  45. Tums Says:

I mean what else can you expect when you bring in a qb with a suspension and cheating history.

  46. ©MadMax Says:

@Ivan, JW is going to play baseball….(inside info)

  47. Buckin ayee Says:

Lol Racists get so defensive over the tiniest mention of color 🤣. Very telling

  48. Dan McLaughlin Says:

What restrictions? He didn’t break any law

  49. Pm permanently moderated Says:

I think the idea that these are strict rules are ludicrous. If the nfl did it they are idiots, and they are hurting the Carreras and money of their players. If the nfl pa doesn’t stand against this, they are idiots too.

Don’t get me wrong, the shield can do this, but there is a pretty significant question as to weather the government can really shut you down, or if it is an advisement. I have a feeling we will find out by the Supreme Court in the next five years

Go watch some more News dude lol. You have no idea what teams have talked to Winston. How Could you talk intelligently about this subject without being witness to or hearing any actual conversation? That right you can’t and literally don’t know wtf you are talking about, like most fans of this team and the NFL in general. What sad little lives some of you have..

  51. Beeej Says:

    snitches get stitiches
Yes, so the story is all over national media, but Joe is a snitch. Got it. It happens. It’s funny. It’s telling (in a good way). If the Bucs get punished, it’s certainly not going to come off the salary cap and this certainly doesn’t feel like a lost draft picks situation. –Joe

  52. mark2001 Says:

Ivan…I think you can cross any team off the list that drafts a QB. You wouldn’t want Jameis influencing your draftee…and compete with him, taking snaps, and slowing down his development.

So likely, it would be a team with a solid QB, looking at him to compete for the number two position with another vet…. and there aren’t many of those teams out there. Tampa is one so far this weekend, but he burned his bridges here. And we might draft a young guy to

So will he be a backup for a team this year? I don’t know…wouldn’t bet on it one way or the other.

  53. Trench War Says:

    Buckin aye

if you find humor in people throwing around the race card you’re a racist

  54. mark2001 Says:

MadMax…if Jameis is pitching, I’d be very careful if I was the ump. If you throw the ball to the wrong guy consistently in Baseball, that would mean the ump might get beaned a half dozen times a game. Tough on the umpire, but at least he can’t run the ball back for a pick six.

  55. BigHog Says:

There is Black …and then there is White….there are those who can and you have those who can’t…more especially in this country the color of the skin has always made a difference since day one….it’s ingrained in the fabric of this country like the Coronavirus ….you see how people keep bringing up a plate of crab legs …never charged and this uber thing ….he paid mony to…let it be known the white man been paying off women for many many years. Sone more
upset over the uber driver than Stormy D….the one thing that bugs me about the uber driver is how can one grab that thang when she setting on it …you may try but she setting on it …anyway no charges by the law but BLACK BALLED by THE SHIELD! The black and white truth ….BIG HOG!!!

  56. ©MadMax Says:

    @mark, good one lol

  57. Petty Officer Buc Says:

Who is this Winston guy people keep talking about? Did he once play in the NFL or something?

  58. David Says:

He can’t go see the OC???
    Why?
Two people can meet, that is not violating any virus rules or regulations right now.
He can’t go over there to get the playbook and discuss the offense?
    Flocking ridiculous

  59. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

It wasn’t a violation. The arrangement was for Tom to pick up some items while Leftwich was not home…so they never intended to meet. No rule breaking at all.

  60. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

And actually, there is no proof he ever even made it to Leftwich’s house.

  61. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

So far as Winston…it ain’t over until it’s over. I have a feeling he has an offer from ateam that does not want to tip their draft plans.

  62. Craig Says:

Better than invading an Uber driver for off season fun. The NFL will bitch and slap the Bucs collective hand, because it was a playbook, not training. Training is part of the CBA and is part of the reason pre-season is so bad, even though we have the King of pre-season, Ryan Griffin.

  63. donuts Says:

This is a fine situation for franchise…no missed games.

  64. westernbuc Says:

First, Jameis cost Mike Evans some cash after his stupid stunt on the sidelines. He also cost Bucs fans with his turnovers, finger-licking, and off the field allegations.

Second, are NFL teams forbidden from meeting off-facilities? I was under the impression they couldn’t meet at facilities and needed to follow local ordinances.

If Goodell fines the Glazers/Brady and/or Leftwich, that’d be insane.

My guess it’s teams that are mad that Brady/Gronk are running things right now

  65. Buc4evr Says:

Yeah Sean Payton is probably the only one in the “NFL circles” that is complaining to the NFL front office. People in Tampa need to shut the hell up when it comes to Brady and Gronk.

  66. Drew Says:

I DO NOT find it interesting, NOR do I care. I only care about the Buccaneers winning a Super Bowl.

  67. Caleb Wilson Says:

Love this site…i check it everyday and read almost every article. BUT IF YOU CLULD JUST STOP MENTIONING WINSTONS NAME THAT WLULD BE AWESOME! He doesn’t play for the bucs anymore, his overall record is a losing one, and he has zero relevancy with the current bucs. Please just give it up already. Time to move on joe.

  68. Mike in LOL Says:

Brady in Tampa will make the Glazers hundreds of millions – Fine us all you want NFL!
