Bringing Patriots Way To Bucs

April 22nd, 2020

Gronk said he can handle it.

The thing that lights up fans worse than changing uniforms or raising ticket prices to games is one simple word.

“Distractions!”

This drives fans wild. Any perceived distraction. You know, closing a car door, a sneeze, a gentle gust of a breeze. And God forbid there is a camera not from a news organization at training camp! That’s one step from Jonestown-like mind control.

Former NFL suit Michael Lombardi has stated Tampa is a city where it is tough to win in because of the embedded distractions.

New Bucs tight end Rob Gronkowski was asked about this. Don’t worry folks, Gronk said. There can be young, nubile, tanned women all over the place wearing limited clothing, the Gulf, fishing boats, dive trips, rasslin’ matches, bars of all sorts, clothing-optional establishments and beach bars that sometimes straddle the line between the two.

Gronk promised: He will not be distracted by the sun and fun and exotic women of Tampa Bay when it’s time for football.

He learned from the master Bill Belichick about tuning out life and locking in on football.

“I don’t think that will be a distraction at all,” Gronk said of the region. Gronk knows about Tampa well as he said he used to own a house in Tampa. “If anything you can use that to your advantage and enjoy the sunshine a lot more.

“I have learned many things with the Patriots organization and that is one thing: To block out the noise. One thing I am going to bring with me is to block out the noise. There is no reason to listen to all the hype, listen to everything that is going on, go out there and fall into all of the distractions.

“You have to stay focused. You have to stay with the program. You have to stay mentally sharp and physically ready at all times. You cannot let the distractions get to you. You just have to block them out.”

When Gronk said he can use the distractions to his advantage, Joe is guessing he’s going to blend in big time with the fun and sun of Tampa Bay so that it becomes sort of norm it is for fellow residents.

It’s good to know a pro like Gronk can focus on football when the time arises. Joe hopes he passes that trait on to his new teammates.

Really excited for these two guys to raise the standard up to where it needs to be.

  2. El_Buc941 Says:

Joe why would he need to pass it on to his teammates?the only new guys here are tom and gronk and the draft class. The rest of the team has been here for how long now and none of the current players have been distracted with such?

  3. DB55 Says:

What a bunch of bull! I guess everyone forgot about Revis! Bucs are a lost cause.

  4. El Buco Realisto Says:

At this rate, they will still need Rodney Harrison to come out of the booth to play safety, and they could dig up Junior Seau to play linebacker, then maybe they will win one playoff game!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy it now sheep!!!!! Their will be a huge price to pay!!!!!!!!!!!

    go bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Godlovesbucs Says:

If the payoff is winning meaningful football games in January then it is worth the price. So far the price is 70 mil and a 4th round pick. Other than that what is the price??? Not resigning winston? I keep hearing people say the price is huge, but as of yet they have not hampered the future of the franchise in terms of long term money or future draft picks. They have yet to trade away young players for old players. They have only legitimized playoff hopes for the first time in 10+ years. Whether or not they fall off a cliff when they leave will come down to how they draft for the future.

  6. KnoxvilleBucsFan Says:

Won’t be a distraction but don’t look now Percy Harvin announced today he’s good to go again and a dream of his was to always play with the GOAT! A healthy Harvin catching 5 yard passes from the TB12? Dream Team?

  7. unbelievable Says:

Well, I like his answer at least.

Hopefully that holds true and he really does focus the way players on the Patriots do. Because we do know for certain that Tampa does NOT have the same football culture that New England has had.

  8. Steven007 Says:

55, apples and oranges and you know it. Revis was coming off a major injury and basically rehabbed here. And even still had a decent season. Bears no relation to the current situation.

  9. Bucs Guy Says:

Work hard during the season, play hard during the off season.
Does anyone believe Gronk will play more than 1 year if the Bucs win the Super Bowl?
Does anyone believe Gronk will still play after Brady retires?
    Me either on both.

  10. McBuc Says:

Anyone see anything on Julian Edleman to the Bucs? It’s on Facebook, so it’s probably a rumor. Lol

  11. rrsrq Says:

    Logan Mankins next

  12. Kgh4life Says:

I don’t like the phrase the “patriot way”. Even thought the acquired two of the greatest players in Patriot history, the locker room at Gillette Stadium was completely different, especially when you have Belichick leading the way. I want Brady and Gronk to ushering in the Buccaneer way.

  13. Robert Says:

Dbag55, npuppy, el bucista, lil pappy you sure can tell why hates the change in shades of the team

  14. StonedBuc Says:

When you win games the ladies will want to to have sex with with you. Thats what gronk is bringing to the locker room… No more paying for strippers.

They thought mons was dope before they were winning hahaha….

  15. StonedBuc Says:

How long until the space ship at oddesy is renamed after gronk?

    ????

    Brady + Gronk= playoffs!

    What’s the cost?

  17. Robert James Says:

Will be interesting to see JOE interviewing and asking questions to Gronk and Brady and asking about “Belacheat” and the past.

  18. bucdawg Says:

It seems that Gronk and Brady will fit ito the personality of Tampa Bay really well. They may well help lead and develop a team that already seems to have a stacked locker room, and by that i mean a group of mature young men with HIGH CHARACTER focased motivated players . Sure they have to gel into a TEAM and mature into a winning attitude and i think BRADY and Gronk are the balance they need.

  19. JoeFromSoFlo Says:

Its going to be great seeing every positive thing the bucs do this year automatically attributed to a 43 year old QB and a retired TE WWE Champion

  20. Phil Says:

He didn’t just own a house here he own a really, really nice house here.
