Major Vegas Odds Shift On Brady To Tampa

March 15th, 2020

Sage of Tampa Bay Sports Ira Kaufman put down the fork this Sunday afternoon

The Sage of Tampa Bay Sports, JoeBucsFan.com columnist Ira Kaufman has been working the phones.

And in typical Kaufman fashion, he reached out to one of his oddsmaker friends.

There has been a seismic shift in wagering odds today when it comes to where Tom Brady will take his first snaps this fall.

Kaufman just sent this Joe’s way: A quote from Jay Kornegay, VP of sports operations at the Westgate Sports Book in Las Vegas on the Bucs being co-favorites with the Patriots at 10/11 to feature Tom Brady under center this fall: “The news coming out of Tampa Bay is indicating the team and Brady are a likely choice for the both of them.”

Right now, Joe is confident this potential Brady signing is up to two entities: Team Glazer, and Brady and his wife.

Team Glazer will offer the moon, perhaps even a three-year guaranteed contract, with a third season falling off if Brady retires.

  1. Rojas Says:

He’s probably going to use Tampa as leverage. I doubt he’s coming here.

  2. SteveK Says:

Bring Brady to Tampa, and let him win a super bowl at home to walk off.

  3. MadMax Says:

    Yup!

Told yall months ago it was a great idea! Coming to fruition!!!

    Here comes Brady!!!!

Now a beefy O line prospect and a great catching RB prospect is in the cards.

    Wirfs
    Clyde
    Ezra

Dugger and Claypool if we can somehow fit them in the equation.

  4. Dapostman Says:

    Tom Brady’s record @ Miami is 8-10.

I understand it’s a division game but I would have thought he would have a winning record in Miami being the Dolphins haven’t exactly been a thorn in his side. Maybe the Florida heat?

    Buyer beware!

  5. Bucs fan in Napa Says:

I think Brady would love to play for Bruce. There are talented weapons, he’ll be away from Mahomes/Lamar, and he’d love to prove to the world that he can take a perennial loser deep into playoffs without Belicheat.

It’s up to Tom to sweet talk Giselle into green lighting the idea. Giselle will say no and the buck stops there.

Teddy will be consolation prize. No way Teddy makes it through a season without getting injured. Bucs will not draft a rookie qb. The Bucs will implode. Arians future will the be in doubt.

The vicious cycle of losing will continue for the Bucs. It’s the only constant in what has become a crazy, unpredictable world.

Make sure to wash your hands.

  6. Mike Johnson Says:

I hope he does not come here. New system for an old man with old legs and a plethora of injuries. But it would not surprise me one bit. We are known to make major mistakes in our desperation to win. Brady will not last one season here. Not behind our Offensive line. He’s gonna be the next Sweezy only bigger. Guaranteed money to get injured. He’ll get his millions for nothin and his chicks..for free baby.

  7. #1 Pick QB 2 Cent Brain Says:

Counting on Vegas as a source is laughable

They make odds in the hopes of making money but let’s not pretend they are infallible

  8. Buccos Says:

Glad you dont live around here loser!^^^

  9. Ndog Says:

If this happens this has to be the dumbest franchise in all of sports bar none!

So we pay top dollar for a 43 year old washed up player that no one else wants. Sounds about right for this franchise.

I am physically ill thinking about this happening.

  10. rrsrq Says:

Then you got JW going to NE and wins a SB

  11. DanBucsFan Says:

Keep Winston as backup for a year or two. I would imagine he can learn alot from TB12

  12. Dave Says:

    hush up NDawgNig

  13. Hethrew 30 Says:

Yeah Ndog, the Bucs would be so stupid to take a wild shot on unknown Brady instead of keeping that sure bet Winston for a sixth year. He is in the twilight of his NFL greatness, but Winston has never had a greatness and probably never will. Weren’t you all happy about how Arians was here and knew what he had in Winston…you know…someone who finally understands football? I guess you changed your mind now that your love interest is not the man under center. Yup, BA is now clueless, Brady is washed up…gee, why do I want to be in that court versus let’s bring America’s turnover machine basket case back?

  14. Hethrew 30 Says:

    Whoa Dave…not cool at all.

  15. Jean Lafitte Says:

    Ndog …you are a moron

  16. Rossta 61 Says:

You got to be kidding me! I like Tom Brady, but he’s on the downside of his career we’re trying to build a team and just bring him in here for a year or 2, but what do for the future, wake up Buc fans and smell the roses! This is not a good for the future of this team, unbelievable! Look what happened to Joe Montana when he left the 49ers with the Kansas City how did that work out

  17. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

If I thought this could possibly happen, I would love it. But…I just do not believe Brady wants to leave New England.

  18. Hethrew 30 Says:

The only thing that will make me unhappy about a Brady signing is if he pulls a Brees and is down on the Bucs drafting his eventual replacement. But I don’t see that. We’ve seen Brady and Belichik mentor two guys to fall in after Brady…first was Ryan Mallett, who left for big money but had a bad attitude and failed. That’s not on the Patriots (much as I hate them). Then there is Garropolo, who is doing a fine job in SF. So imagine Brady mentoring a guy like Herbert or Love, who are in reach of the Bucs. If Brady wants more power than money, so much the better. Would you rather him call the plays or Leftwich? Would you rather Brady decide on a RB or Licht? It beats Winston wanting his own WR (Bobo) and Kicker (Aguayo) from his Hunting Ground days. The RayJay would INSTANTLY be sold out Sundays and the Bucs would be the talk of the NFL. Unorthodox yes, but Brady can shape a winning culture (something the Bucs have talked about for years but never could do) while he is here. And, he’ll be gone in a few years anyway and probably leave the Bucs in better shape than when he got here. Just sayin….

  19. Hethrew 30 Says:

I think Brady has pretty broken any NFL record he wanted to. He has been the man in NE forever. He is married to a supermodel who makes more than he does. He will never need money again. He can have any broadcasting job he wants when he leaves football. He can probably run for political office and win in a landslide. The only thing he has not done is: 1. Play on another NFL team. That has to be mystical to him. 2. He has never really been out from under Belichic’s and Krafts control. He’d probably like to see that. 3. He can dabble in the peronnel business, even the GM a bit, without actually doing it.

Dare I say these are make Brady tick, what motivate him now. I think he DOES want to leave NE for all of the above reasons. Think about it. And Bonzai, you need to hold the door as BA breaks his foot off of Winston’s backside and shoves him through it.

  20. BucEmUp Says:

Brady without Bill equals an average qb with no rings

  21. TexBuc Says:

Yup talk of the town till Tom takes a few big hits and is done for the year.

  22. Hethrew 30 Says:

I may seem unhappy with Winston all the time, but I need to be fair, and give him his due. He is the longest a QB has ever remained in Tampa and not improved. He provded to us that one can pass for a lot of yards and still lose multiple games with multiple turnovers. He proved to us that if you have questionable character in college, it is best not to take a chance on him becuase he WILL screw his owners, GM, coaches, teammates, fans…and someone else. He has shown us again that if you aren’t getting it at year 3, best to move on then. Thanks Winston, for wasting five years of Bucs fans lives. Now git!

  23. JustBucNwin Says:

The only thing he had to prove is that he can win without Bill…for that alone I see him leaving NE! Tampa makes the most sense, we have weapons, a players coach, a defense ready to explode, and a team with one of the longest playoff droughts! All this a recipe for Brady to Tampa! Not to mention all the things the sunshine state brings…

  24. John.L Says:

    Brady 2020!!

  25. Hethrew 30 Says:

Yeah, Brady was constantly on IR. He will be a QB his O line will actually probably risk it all to protect. He makes everyone around him better. He will be Fitz effect times 10.

  26. Chuckstutz Says:

The heck with brady. Give me jamis so tired of all this nonsense. No way will I want to see new England’s left over take the bucs over. He will be overpaid for what he can do here. Sonora tommy boy. Bring jamis back where he belongs.
    Case closed.

  27. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Brady simply doesn’t make really good sense……..age….and in particular, money……It would make it very difficult for us to keep our defense together and it would probably be necessary to draft a QB to groom.

I don’t think he’s washed up…..and probably has a couple of good years left…..most importantly, he’s not ready to quit.

I have no doubt that he would be vast improvement at QB……but we would need to step up our Oline & RB situations in the first two rounds and would need to probably replace JPP or Suh……

  28. TexBuc Says:

The only thing that will be the same here in Tampa for Brady is the shape of the football. No viable run game and does anyone see any WR that is great in getting separation? The one guy who was is now a Titan (Hump). A WR play the same position but there are all different kinds that play the position i.e. some are good in space, maybe slow but excellent separation, fast and can separate, and then some good at going up and getting the ball. Most importantly just because our leaky defense played well down the stretch does NOT mean they will continue the next year anyone remember 2016 to 2017.

  29. TexBuc Says:

And does anyone see a pass catching RB on our roster?

  30. Eric Says:

The Bucs going to take her to prom but the Pats will end up getting her at the end of night! Some clowns love pain smh!!

  31. MadMax Says:

    Tool….Schism

    “I know the pieces fit”

  32. Hethrew 30 Says:

And if not heard, the NFL will proceed with free agency. Franchise tag deadline noon tomorrow and legal tampering begins then. BRING ON BRADY!

  33. TexBuc Says:

Did anyone see adjustment to game plan at halftime?

  34. Jonathan Limpchimpi Says:

Bracing for a “2nd place” finish a la:

    -Bill Parcells (twice)
    -Bo Jackson
    -Brett Favre

  35. TexBuc Says:

Did our coaching staff ever win us a game by a excellent game plan or by out coaching opponent?

  36. Hethrew 30 Says:

TampaBayBucFan…I doubt Brady is in it now for money. He just doesn’t need it. It is about self-actualization. Like the Prez, he is not looking for riches, but it is the power and feeling of doing someting on the bucket list. He would probably sign for the tag money price….age…not a factor if the Bucs draft the future that he helps build. Another ego thing. I have never seen anyone, HC or player, push team mates harder and at the same time, set the example always. Like Brady.

  37. Hethrew 30 Says:

TexBuc…no. But we saw what Brady and company did in the SB against ATL.

  38. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Well, because of the greedy NFLPA, the Buccaneers have only 15.5 hours to re-sign JPP, Nassib, Suh, Barrett, Beau Allen, Rakeem Nunez-Roches, and Kevin Minter.

There are going to be a lot of free agents hitting the streets this year.

  39. TexBuc Says:

We are NOT signing Brady and COMPANY we are trying to get BRADY.

  40. AlteredEgo Say: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

Brady hasn’t given 5 milliseconds thought of playing in Tampa… his people are only using other options as leverage… TB will sign a creative deal and own that town until his dying day!

  41. Hethrew 30 Says:

If Brady signs tomorrow, I’d bet Shaq, JPP, Suh, and Nassib all drop their price to stay and play with him. I’ll bet FA RBs and OL will want to be part of his offense. Season ticket sales will go from under 30 current to over 40. Every home game will sell out. The Glazers get their Sizzle. Licht and BA say “Hey we tried on #3 and get accolades for bringing in the most famous QB in modern times. The lid will blow of off local sports fans. JoeBucsFan will FINALLY be able to write about a real America’s QB. Brady will be doing commerciials left and right wearing his Bucs colors. The Bucs would be a dark horse candidate for a deep playoff run…with a chance to play the SB in their own stadium. The plusses are endless. Brady is a force multiplier.

Keep it up with the negatives…no way do they compare.

  42. Hethrew 30 Says:

Signing Brady on his own is better than keeping Winston, having BL call plays, and JL draft personnel for his offense.

  43. JimmyJack Says:

For one I do not think the fans or media will be happy if we go to free agency for our QB and it’s not Brady at this point. It will then appear(reguardless of what their plan actually is) that they wiffed on Brady and had to settle for a lesser QB.

Say what you want about your own opinion but I can’t see that not being the narritive…..That the Bucs wiffed on Brady. The Bucs have let Tom Brady name get leaked like this so they gotta get him now if they run off Winston or it will just look bad.

Now if they bring back Winston it’s different. The whole Brady story can easily be seen as a smokescreen or negotiating tactic. That will change the narritive and the Bucs won’t look bad.

To me all this tells me is the Bucs know they are getting Brady or they are negotiating with Winston. We either keeping Brady or keeping Winston. Otherwise the Bucs just look stupid.

And O don’t think Brady is coming here. Bruce’s QBs take a lot of hits. It’s always been that way. I’m very skeptical Tom wants to sign up for that.

In conclusion Winston is coming back!!! Bruce has been wispering to him all off-season. Winston will start to hit his potential with limited mistakes in 2020!!!

Like Will stons career what a roller coaster ride this off-season has been all ready.

    GO BUCS!!!

  44. MadMax Says:

^ @Hethrew…. but some people just dont get it.

Also maybe a discount on a FS veteran prospect

  45. Hethrew 30 Says:

True Bonzai, but I am betting about 10 am tomorrow you see Barrett, JPP, Suh, and maybe Nassib and Allen all signed. They will know by midnight tonight if they have Brady. They may already know.

  46. JimmyJack Says:

    Typos**

  47. Hethrew 30 Says:

    MadMax…true.
    And that would be nice.

  48. TexBuc Says:

BA’s version of the 4 Vertical Offense sacrifices QB protection for multiply receivers going out with 2/3 of them running long time consuming routes. Want to know why Chris Evans exploded this year? The Slot WR in this offense is our defacto TE, in motion wham blocking before releasing into mismatches. I like BA and the reason it took so long for him to get a HC job was his offense exposes the QB to HITS. Steelers fired or did not renew his contract due to Big Ben constantly being exposed to big hits and Andrew Luck retired early due to the many hits he absorbed when BA was his OC. BIG Tom Brady fan but he has never stood tall in the pocket and absorbed hit and hit for the long ball if anything he will go down by himself when he see or feels pass rush.

  49. Hethrew 30 Says:

If the Bucs don’t sign Brady, it will be disaster to go back to Winston with this fan bas after five years of hm. It will be like a lifesaving drug in ready to administer and then someone steals it and the patient dies. If Brady doesn’t come here, Teddy and Rivers would be fine…along with a few others that wold be more complicated, but would still provide more hope than winston.

  50. JimmyJack Says:

Bonzai……I’m no savant on this stuff. But as I understand it those players are not free agents until the 18th.

Still a couple days where they can get signed. Also we didn’t sign Suh last year til after the draft. Guys like him and JPP may not be in a rush to sign.

  51. Hethrew 30 Says:

TexBuc…get what’s between the white lines out of the top billing and focus on all the optic and business plusses…think you are reading the football game and QB hits too deeply into it.

Who the he11 is Chris Evans?

  52. Tbbucs3 Says:

All you Brady lovers are wasting your time.

Brady is clearly going back to the Pats and using the Bucs as leverage.

Can’t wait till I see #3 out there week 1 in the new uniforms.

  53. Adrnagy Says:

Brady will resign with patriots and make one last run at a 7th super bowl.

Jameis doesn’t not want to come back due to the circumstances, will enter free agency and wants to prove everyone wrong and keep his show on the road.

Bucs are down to teddy and rivers.

  54. boldnewera Says:

    @Hethrew at 8:25 post…and MadMax all along,

Starting to think forward, grounded, bigger than the many…others.

Question now is…what is TB12’s wish list of accompanying acquisitions?? First/second/third RB of his choice? RT of his choice? Yada yada. There WILL be a list.

    Onward and upward!

  55. Hethrew 30 Says:

I can’t stand Brady personally…because he has always beaten my team. Make your enemies your friends. Better yet, put them (like Suh and JPP) on OUR team. I think he’ll likely go back to the Patriots, but only a fool would not see him signing here as HUGE.

  56. TexBuc Says:

    Hethrew

Sorry I cannot type and think at the same time I meant to say Chris Godwin.

  57. JimbobBucsFan Says:

I don’t know what sort of person Tom Brady is.  I doubt money is his first priority, though.

After winning 6 Super Bowls together I wonder how Brady and the Patriots see each other now.

I hope Brady is not using the Bucs in some kind of ego battle with the Belichick.  I remember very well how  Bill Parcels played the Buccaneers, TWICE, and left us standing at the altar, brokenhearted

  58. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I believe all our free agents hit the streets at 12 noon tomorrow, just like all the other teams.

  59. Hethrew 30 Says:

Boldnew…I think Brady would want to draft an OT…no brainer there. I think he would want a RB in FA. Hyde, Riddick, maybe Drake. But…NOT R. Jones. He’d bring Joe Thuney with him from NE, right? Think Thuney would not say oh he11 yes! Or Glascow from DET.

  60. TexBuc Says:

    Hethrew

Defensive Coord. develop whole game plans on whether he thinks his pass rush will be effective against said team.
Some QB’s cannot consistently pass without the extra half second a good running games gives while the defenders are waiting to read rush or pass. I believe Winston’s ability to make positive passing plays without a consistent rushing game is his best attribute and yes his INT’s are a issue that must be reduced.

  61. Bucs Guy Says:

It’s Favre 2.0. Using the Bucs as leverage to get more money from where he really wants to go — Pats or Raiders.

  62. Hethrew 30 Says:

TexBuc…I think you are right, and I defer to that expertise. But I think the need for the owners to shift the narrative trumps the whole thing.

  63. Adrnagy Says:

    Raiders all in for Jameis

  64. Hethrew 30 Says:

And Boldnew…think they would put Smith on the RT and draft the OT for left side, and maybe have a FA for depth…but is indeed someting Brady would be pretty high on…great questions. Imagain if they announce him tomorrow…and the FAs would line up to come to Tampa. Kindof like with Lovie and Schiano ran things (NOT!).

  65. Hethrew 30 Says:

    Raiders all in for Jameis.

    AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA AHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHH HAHAHAHAH

    Oh, my side hurts.

  66. JimbobBucsFan Says:

As for the Glazers what is their priority?

Is it merely filling Rayjay stadium? Is it to to put the Buccaneers back in the national spotlight once again? Or is it actually to win another Super Bowl, sooner than later?

I can only hope that the real goal in any decision will be all about winning.

  67. SpiritCrusher Says:

Did I really read someone say that TB has had a plethora of injuries? Anybody who doesn’t want brady here is a FSU homer, hoping Jameis will magically stop losing games for us. I like the guy and hopes he succeeds but his time as a starter in Tampa, is OVER.

  68. Adrnagy Says:

You might laugh now. But next year when Jameis goes to pro bowl and playoff your head will be up the toilet.

  69. VegasBuc Says:

If TB12 comes to TB, draft Wirfs in the 1st and Eason in the 2nd to learn a couple years behind him.

  70. TexBuc Says:

Glazers trying for another hail mary super bowl go for tom brady and the coach jon gruden who they fired wins the super bowl in tampa with the QB the Glazers said move on from. That would be the ultimate irony…..lol

  71. JollyRoger Says:

Signing Brady would rate right up there with the Bo Jackson debacle.

  72. Tbbucs3 Says:

I can accept the Bucs moving on from Jameis, don’t agree but whatever.

But this team better not sign Teddy Bridewater after 5 good games. He is the definition of bait right now.

Outside of Jameis the Bucs FA options should be……..
    1. Derrick Carr
    2. Tom Brady
    3. Philip Rivers
    4. Andy Dalton
    5. Worst case scenario Teddy Bridewater.

Simply not turning the ball over doesn’t automatically mean you’ll win football games, which is what some fans seem to believe on here.

  73. JollyRoger Says:

Jameis has another 14 years in him with unlimited potential and Brady might have a year at best. It would make zero sense to mortgage our entire future for a QB who would likely not even make it through the entire season. WHAT A JOKE!!!

  74. adam from ny Says:

    what if:

brady honestly just needs a clean break from the hoody and it’s just time he moves on…

maybe he isn’t gonna be sleazy and use the bucs as leverage…

what if the sleazy one is the hoody and TB is a stand up guy?…

    ???

    what if…

i’m upping my odds to 10%

  75. Tbbucs3 Says:

Bucs made the same mistake when signing Josh Mccown after he played very well for the Bears for 1/2 a season.

  76. adam from ny Says:

what if brady finally wants to say to bill in a roundabout way…

“hey bill, look my c*ck is a big boy c*ck now and it’s bigger than yours”…

maybe he wants to shove a title down the hoody’s throat

  77. Tval Says:

It’s not like he had tons of help last year from his wideouts.
As much as he’s lost a step, he, still, had a solid season. Brady isn’t going ANYWHERE. The Bucs better be smart before they end up with Dalton or Carr. Lmao!!! Bruce will be DONE!!!

  78. TexBuc Says:

    adam

Just read article from another site which goes that Bill B wants Tom to go with the Bucs. With many saying Bill B is nothing without Tom. Tom coming to a 7-9 team to crash and burn would just make Bill B smile inside.

  79. Wesley Says:

Tbbucs3 – Your seriously comparing McCown to Brady?

  80. Tbbucs3 Says:

^ Was comparing Mccown To Teddy Bridgewater

  81. Buczilla Says:

Brady is not coming here but it’d be damn foolish not to try and sign him. We are going to get stuck with old a$$, not good anymore Rivers, broken, never good Bridgewater, or schizo playing, average at best Jameis. Jameis is is the best out of this sorry lot and I’ll be fine with him and a rookie for this year.

  82. Greg Says:

With smoke there is fire. @ Hetrow30 i am with you if there is a slim chance TB is considering obviously there would demands to uggrade the OL which is needed regardless. @Ndog not sure what film you are watching but a ” washed up 43 year old” is on another level than your guy is or will be and he will be for at least two more years. TB brings with an improved OL a chance to bring a deep playoff threat!

  83. 813bucboi Says:

    Teddy

    GO BUCS

  84. Wesley Says:

    Tbbucs3 – ah gotcha

  85. TexBuc Says:

    Interesting stat

    2019 season QBR per ESPN:
    Tom Brady 53.7
    Jameis Winston 53.7

  86. Big_Buc$ Says:

Everyone keeps talking about Brady signing with Tampa. Its funny well we shall see if Tampa will or will not. Funny all the teams that were linked to pursuing a soon to be 43 year old QB has dropped fast considering its 24 hours before legal tampering. If you move on from Jameis I hope we are drafting a QB. I’m not sold on a 42 year and 38 year old who clearly are in decline case and point look at their play. Brady gets alot of credit for 6 super bowl titles. I respect them but what is overlooked is the teams all had a top 5 defense and a solid running game. I’m just not sold that Tampa will be an elite defense in 2020 but I hope im wrong.

  87. AlteredEgo Say: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

Jameis played just well enough to force the Bucs to trade up in the draft to grab the QB of the future!

  88. Ivan The Insider Says:

BREAKING NEWS: Tampa Bay Buccaneers resign Winston to 3-Year, $78 million deal with $35 million guaranteed. Includes a 4th year team option.

    Just kidding. Bye bye Jameis!

  89. AlteredEgo Say: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

Jameis is in the 3 year 45 million a year market place, one year guaranteed

  90. Buc4evr Says:

The Bucs are being used yet again. Sign Shaq, tag Jameis, and draft a QB or try to bring in Teddy to compete. Getting a 43 Year old QB with our lack of a running game and a mediocre oline is going to get Brady injured by week 4.

    Should be an interesting week.

  91. El Buco Realisto Says:

What are the vegas odds for ole stale biscuit still being head coach next year?????????

    go bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!

  92. JimmyJack Says:

I love all the talk about the Bucs being used. Behind closed doors Bruce knows for sure if You is coming here or not. I’m pretty sure of that. If you don’t think they know I’d say that’s naive.

And not like it hurts Brady or nothing but they could be using his name as a means of leverage in their own negotiation.

I also like JimboBucs comment as to what the Glazer’s are thinking here and would they want Tom Brady just to fill seats and get that prime time money……..That is a Scarry thought that’s crossed my mind but I don’t believe Bruce Arians would have come to Tampa Bay to be part of a publicity stunt. He’s got one goal on his mind and has not been shy at sharing it.

  93. Anonymous Says:

Not interested at all in Brady coming to Tampa Bay would rather have Winston and his interceptions than a 43-year-old quarterback doesn’t matter Who he is.

  94. T REX Says:

The comment by Dave should be deleted and his IP should be perma banned.

    No acceptable behavior.

  95. HomerSimpsonRocks Says:

Ira Kaufman is a very distinguished voice in Tampa Bay Sports. That’s really the best photo you have of him?

  96. BrianBucs Says:

BRADY!!! BRADY!!! BRADY!!! BRADY!!! BRADY!!! BRADY!!! BRADY!!!

ANYBODY but America’s Human Turnovers Machine, Mr. Pick 6

  97. RGA Says:

While the offensive weapons are intriguing for Tom Brady, the offensive line not so. Winston has had very poor protection in his 5 years here, not much of a running game either. Winston is tough as nails and I doubt Brady can withstand that kind of abuse, at his age he could not take the beating if getting sacked 50 times a year and hit and punished much more.

  98. Ivan The Insider Says:

    MY FINAL PREDICTION:

BRADY PASSES ON THE BUCS and resigns with New England. His reported interest in the 49ers proves that he wants to somewhere he has a realistic chance or winning that 7th ring. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that the Bucs are missing too many pieces right now to be considered a Super Bowl contender, let alone a shoe-in for the playoffs.

BUCS LET JAMEIS WALK. They don’t tag him nor extend him. Arians has had enough of the turnovers and inconsistent play. He’s ready to move and forces Licht & Glazers to let him bring in another QB.

BUCS SIGN TEDDY BRIDGEWATER. Teddy ends up being Winston’s replacement. They’ll sign him to a 3-Year Deal worth $28M/year.

JAMEIS DOESN’T LAND A STARTING JOB. He’ll end up signing as a backup for about $18M. Most likely signing with Pittsburgh.

The Jameis-Lovers FREAK OUT. They won’t be able to sleep for several nights that their hero has been sent to walk the plank right outta Tampa.

Other Jameis-Homers won’t know what to do with themselves knowing they can no longer play the ‘race card’ as to why many Bucs fans hate Jameis when those same fans celebrate and welcome another BLACK QB with open arms.

Welcome to Tampa Bay, Teddy Bridgewater!

It’s kind of sad really…does not honestly bring me pleasure because I like all the guys here and respect the vast majority whether they love or hate JW.

But the poor JW supporters desperation in showing. We’re now suggesting that Giselle is the reason Brady won’t come. Why?

These people do NOT live like us. Figure it out. Cobra did yesterday…I’ve been trying to explain.

Why on earth would Tom Brady spending the next fall/winter in sunny Tampa have an effect on Giselle? For more than a half dozen years she was the highest paid Supermodel in the WORLD….she doesn’t just think of the US like we provincial Americans…she is a WORLD traveler!!

She can get to LA in about the same time it takes to get from St Pete to a Gators game if you count game traffic and a lot LESS time than it takes to get to an FSU game. Miami is as close as a drive to Brandon from St. Pete when you have private jets. NYC…a few hours away. But oh the horrors she may have to spend time in a penthouse Condo on Harbour Island watching glorious sunsets…when she’s not spending time in the Glazer Vinoy Marina on a nice yacht.

If you haven’t watched…sports celebrities and others in LA travel by helicopter…sadly in Kobe’s case of course…and in private jets…sadly for Payne Stewart. They are willing to accept the risk.

JW MAY go somewhere and win a SB…good for him and the team that takes the gamble….he MAY not even land a starting job. NOBODY knows for certain what will happen next unless there is no change in JW’s performance then of course next year may be his last at least as a starter.

It’s clear though that he and we all need a fresh start. I wish the best for him and for us and am finally relieved to move on from this division in the fan base and disappointment and in all honesty…outright EMBARRASSMENT!!!

5000 YARDS YEE HA…what else…horrid rep coming out of college…first year with the Bucs backs up that horrid rep with another BONEHEADED move and then lies about it…gets suspended virtually ensuring ’18 was a lost cause.

That Cincinnati Bengals game…eating W’s…trying to attack an official…starting a stupid fight against NO that gets ME tossed…the list is just too long!!!

I get the JW lovers…but again as Patty Smyth sang..”Sometimes Love Just Ain’t Enough”. 28-42…five years…history making turnovers…I still concede he has a great arm…works hard…huge heart and cojones..incredibly motivated…but until he stops CHOKING both on and off the field as in press conferences and moronic comments in schools…it’s just too much!

Dave is becoming a regular poster now. He needs to get a life.

  101. RGA Says:

St. Pete, Tell me a better QB then Winston in the history of the Bucs franchise? This should be good.

  102. CPN Says:

The best choice is getting rid of Winston, Ndog.

  103. JimmyJack Says:

St Pete that was a heck of a rant bro.

But dang you got a distorted giew of rich/famous people. Their still people bro that gotta put their pants on the same way we all do. And we all different. And they all different too. Some of them care where they live. Some of them not as much. Some of them don’t mind relocating to a new city. Some don’t wanna leave their home.

Yeah sure they can afford to pop on a jet. Don’t mean they wanna go through the hassle………Like it or not if they got a lot going on in LA or wherever their life will be more easily managable actually living their…..Some people will see it as more of a hassle then others will. No telling how they feel. Maybe Tom and his model wife are the type of couple that don’t like spending time apart. Maybe they don’t wanna be apart for half their time. Money won’t change that bro hahaha. Or maybe they don’t care maybe they prefer having time apart.

Point is they are still people. Believe it or not they actually will have a preference based on what most important to them……..How do you know this model lady aren’t scared of flying? Or that Tom doesn’t get lonely at night? Money don’t change everything bro. It’s not magic.

You gotta be one of them people that says so and so should take a couple million less cause it’s no big deal for them and they don’t need it. Do you even realize how much money that is. Haha very distorted view.

    ***END COUNTER RANT***

Dave’s comment was horrible but blacklisting IP addresses does not work. Keyboard warriors are so brave in saying things they would never say in public.

  105. JimmyJack Says:

RGA that’s just a lousy question. It should factor nothing into the Winston decision.
Like that Robot movie where the dead guy says…..”That is the proper question”………You only hear that response if you ask who is the best QB for the Bucs in 2020.

If this decision is being made based on the fact that Winston is better then Vinny somebody has their head up their rear.

  106. SOEbuc Says:

They have to introduce the new jerseys when Brady steps to the podium.

  107. ItzOK Says:

My ideal scenario could the bucs sign Brady and pay Jameis as a backup if he has no other market to start some other place. I doubt a young talented player like Jamies doesn’t find work in the NFL. I think this is all job to drive Jameis’ price down to resign with the bucs. The worst case is Brady goes back to NE and Jameis signs someplace else and the bucs are left with nobody but Blaine Gabbert. I think Licht is playing a dangerous game by not just signing Jameis to a 1 to 2 year deal.

  108. AncientasBuc Says:

Wrong TB- it will be Bridgewater.

  109. JimbobBucsFan Says:

Actually I believe Bruce Arians and Jason Light have been operating off of a major plan ever since Bruce Arians convinced the Glazers he could come out of retirement and bring the Bucs a Super Bowl championship. Everything they have done since BA walked into One Buc Place says this to me.

This plan had all of the contingencies for how they would rebuild, how to turn the culture around and how to make a run for the Super Bowl within three years.  This plan included trying to “fix” Jameis the first year.  This plan also included contingencies for what they would do if they failed with Winston.  The major alternatives were in place.  All contingencies  were modified in January of this year as  required.

This is what Arians meant when he stated “We have plan.” at the combine.

We are going to see some more pieces fall into place very soon now.  I am very excited. Finally, speculation about Winston’s fate and who will be our QB will be over.

No tight ends means no Brady

  111. Big O Says:

No potential running game no Brady

  112. Bucemup Says:

Man the negativity is real. I’m pretty sure the name of the game is win. Fans want to see wins. How many wins does Jameis have? Arm talent, drive, ect… at the end of the day talent and results have to line together. To the diehard Jameis fans. What have you seen from him that will make you feel that he’s close to turning the corner as a QBs? Potential? Youth? That doesn’t mean improvement. It’s all about results. We can make many excuses for why it hasn’t happened for him here. The eye test tells you he can’t go 3,4, or 5 games in a row with clean turnover free football. The stats may look sexy but what’s the end result? Turnovers will get you beat. I really believed in him once upon a time. I’m a Bucs fan first and foremost. Enough of the losing! Enough of the pick 6. Whoever is our Qb I’ll support but let’s not act like getting rid of Jameis is the worst move in the world.

  113. Hethrew 30 Says:

    @boldnew…agree…time to climb.

  114. Gman Says:

Of course the goober Bucs fans think this is a great idea….there is a reason that there are no other suitors for TB12….only this poorly run organization with their low IQ knuckle dragging fans would think this is a positive.

  115. Aceofaerospace Says:

This reminds me a lot of Bill Parcells…twice.

  116. Steve Says:

    Forget Brady’s age.
Even with 1 arm he’d be better than Jameis.

  117. WestChap Says:

    Please. Please. Please.

And if it does, I’m willing to bet he’s more interested in some trusted vets as new faces on the OL than milking every last dollar from the Glazers.

  118. Buc1987 Says:

Peeps who keep saying it’s for leverage for more money from the Pats are the most clueless fans on planet earth.
