My memory of John Jefferson…They’d show a lot of Chargers games nationally, because of their high flying offense…Chargers were in the red zone, Fouts went to throw the ball away to the back of the endzone. Jefferson jumped up, what seemed to be a 48” vertical, and caught the pass intended to be thrown away.

    Happy Born Day Mr. Clapton!

Even though I really respect your taste in music.
I’ve gotta disagree with you on the best though.

Eric Clapton writes in his biography:

“Everyone was gobsmacked. I remember thinking that here was a force to be reckoned with. It scared me because he was clearly going to be a huge star, and just as we were finding our own speed, here was the real thing.” No one can kill it like Jimi Hendrix.

You guys in the media sometimes don’t reveal your all of your intel to the public for various reasons.

As a fan I don’t remember ever coming upon one red flag being raised concerning Austin Seferian-Jenkins before the draft. (Not saying there was not one “out there” somewhere, I just didn’t see one.) I was happy when he was drafted precisely because I thought he would be great in Koetter’s offense. It was all “on paper” and “in the tapes” as people say.

Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck are the three greatest rock guitarist of their generation in my book. Other people may feel that way about someone else. Only God knows who really was the best.

  6. Bucs4821 Says:

@JimbobBucsFan – I haven’t listened to the podcast yet. There is no single ‘best’ guitarist. There are only favorites. For what it’s worth, my favorites are David Gilmour, Jeff Beck, Ed Van Halen, Ritchie Blackmore and Yngwie Malmsteen. I also love Uli Jon Roth, Al DiMeola, John McLaughlin, Allan Holdsworth, Eric Johnson, Jimmy Page, Hendrix, Angus Young, Michael Schenker, Randy Rhoads, Steve Howe, Alex Lifeson, Clapton, Joe Walsh, Mark Knopfler, Joe Bonamassa, Keith Richards, Stevie Ray Vaughan… that’s the *short list* 😉 Not that I follow guitar and guitar players even more obsessively than I follow the Bucs!
