New Bucs Uniforms Unveiled In April

Coming this April…
For the people who are hot and bothered about new uniforms, you’ve got to suck it up for a few more weeks.
The Bucs announced today that the team will unveil its new uniforms in April. A specific date was not mentioned.
“We have heard the feedback from our fans loud and clear and have been working with the NFL and our league partners at Nike to usher in a new look as we enter this next decade of Buccaneers football,” said Buccaneers owner/co-chairman Ed Glazer. “We look forward to revealing more details in the near future about our official unveiling event which will take place later this spring.”
Joe has low hopes, frankly, if Nike has their fingers involved. When has that outfit produced a “new” uniform that wasn’t an eyerake? (The Bucs’ current uniforms are Exhibit-A.)
Joe said it before and will continue to write the following: there was no need to change uniforms in the first place. The classics were iconic and reminded folks of the style that the Steelers, Packers, Cowboys, Giants, Chiefs and Redskins proudly wear, which, ironically, have not changed in decades. If the Bucs had to change uniforms, then they should have gone back to the creamsicles.
It doesn’t take a plastic surgeon to figure this out.
The “new” uniform should be an old uniform. Don’t fix something that isn’t broken. There was nothing broken at all with the Bucs classics.

Great news! I have not bought Bucs merchandise since the current uniforms came out. Make them good again, and I’m all in.

Yeah agree with Joe on this.
I like the idea of bringing the orange back but worry they will do more harm than good with this lol. Then again the bar is set pretty low from the last uniforms.

I still love the creamsicles, the looked great. The garbage that Nike puts out will probably be another bad mistake. I agree with Joe, just bring back the old uniform that set us apart.

one compliment i’l give to our current uniforms:
i legit get fired up about how bad they are today — the same as i did when they were first unveiled in 2014.
won’t be mad with creamsickle, and i won’t be mad if it’s more of a modern ‘revert’ to our 2002 style. i know it’s famous last words, but surely anything has to be better than this….

They can’t possibly be worse, oh yeah we’re talking about the Bucs. Of course they can mess it up. I like Leroy’s 63 jersey starting off their newest video video though. Fingers crossed they don’t screw it up. Not feeling confident in them however. Hopefully they take it old schoolish, the alarm clock numbers must go.

The red and pewter were greats. Some history. Kids had trouble drawing the original logo. The orange was too 70s. Yes, the Steelers et al have endured, but their stuff goes back to the NFL’s beginning. They needed to change the pewter color because last pewter looked terrible on TV when it got sweaty. I think all know the numbers are a goof, but the new logo and the helmet are a keeper. They will keep some orange for heritage. Expect the biggest changes in the how the jerseys are laid out.
To me, the only ugly Bucs uni right now is anything with a #3 on it.

Oh and btw…back in the day most fans hated that ugly creamsicle color. Orange goes with nothing.
I’m a big fan of the creamsicles, but I also have a pretty good memory of how much they were hated.

Hopeful but as Joe reminds us, it’s Nike designing the new unis. Don’t expect too much. Hopefully, they’ll get rid of the dark brown and incorporate more creamsicle orange with some gray like University of Tennessee.

From what I can tell, JOE is a proponent of either going back to the original creamsicle uniforms or a return to the Super Bowl uniforms. Isn’t that basically what WE ALL WANT? — What is it that you want, in your expert opinion??

Watched my well-worn DVD of Buc’s Super Bowl over the Weekend. Now those were good-looking uniforms. Not a fan of creamsicle.

Apparently there is a whole of folks that are too young or were not fans when the OG Creamsicles were worn. Most people hated those uniforms including me. Those uniforms which look identical to the University of Tennessee were terrible. The late 90’s uniform change were very nice. I fail to understand why they were ever changed to the alarm clock numbers.

Would I like to see the creamsicles come back? Would I like to see the SB era uniforms? Do I want to see something new? All I know is, the glazer boys and Nike will screw it up whichever direction they choose to take. I have very little faith in them making the right decision.

They’re still going to be designed by Nike, the same people that created the current abortions. Nike is too worried about being SJW’s to do a good job on anything other than hating America, so this will be awful.
Also you know that from the preview where they are still obviously sticking with red as the primary color. If they had any sense they’d go back to Bucs orange, instead of redtide red.

I’d go right back to the original 76 uniforms.
Nobody ever lost a game because of a uniform.
Those looked great IMO.. especially the orange jerseys are home. Came within 10 points of the super bowl with those.
But, I know that ain’t happening. Just fix the horrific lettering and embarrassing color combos.

Please no on the mostly orange. Let’s show off the one color no team uses, pewter. A dark grey would also look sick, mix that with some blood red and some white accents. Helmets can stay the same, have no problem with those, chrome face mask were a great idea and I dont even like chrome.

I have some inside info, and it will blow your minds! Here it is:
They are going to modify the uniforms to help Winston. All of the receivers are going to have a a big sign on the front and back (since Winston got his eyes fixed…but still not sure he can read)….
The sign will say “Throw it to ME!” Along with the Lasik, Licht is sure this will cut down on the turnovers. It just takes two years to work, but the fix is in.

The video hints at possibly a red jersey. Considering that 9 other teams have red as their primary(8) or secondary(1) color, shouldn’t be holding our breath for anything that sets us apart from the rest if that is indeed the case. Hoping it’s not.

I hate to always harp on the Glazers’ incompetence, but how can they say they’ve heard the fans if they haven’t solicited our input? The last time they made uniforms they thought were cool, we ended up with the current disaster. Hope history doesn’t repeat itself.

i’m guessing it will just be a “reworking” of the uniforms and helmet…
but if they we’re bad ass, we’d go with pewter and orange and scrap the red as a primary color and turn it into a secondary color, that’s lightly used…
the pewter and orange colors are distinctly buccaneer colors…
own your colors, and own your stadium…
it shouldn’t be that difficult…

i’d be very impressed if they could leave the current helmet as bad ass as it is…
they could start with an all white helmet…proof would be that the skull within the bucs flag on the helmet is the base color of the helmet…then lay good decals in pewter, red and orange where they should be…
then on throwback day, get ill, strip the helmet back down to it’s white base and go bucco bruce

i’d venture to say most fans would be completely satisfied with the ability to have a throwback game or two per season…
that’s really all that’s necessary with the old creamsicles gem…

there’s big business at large here…
lot’s of money made on sports merchandising…
not like years ago…
now people dress for the game or the bar, etc…
so any logic on how this plays out is just that…logic…
how it really plays out is, are the financials of the matter totally workable for said parties…
like i say go pewter and orange…i say rip the seats out of ray jay and make them all orange…
if the seats don’t need replacing at this juncture my plan is just not cost effective…
so then you keep red as the primary color…
so reality is it ain’t about what looks best for us fans on our players…
it’s about moola…just ask nike…
ps i would be shocked if we take our secondary ship logo and have it trump the all powerful skull flag logo…visually how can you say it’s a more powerful image…plain and simple – it’s not

I want Orange more than red. But i would go a slightly deeper shade of Orange. White helmet with traditional stripes down the middle in pewter. Orange flag with skull.
