Arians Lobbies For David In Pro Bowl

Coach has his back.
Despite being one of the best linebackers since he entered the NFL, Bucs linebacker Lavonte David has always taken an unfair backseat.
While David shines year after year, he always is overshadowed by 34-defense outside linebackers who get after the quarterback. This year with a move to the inside as the Bucs flipped to a 34 front, David seems reborn and is arguably having his best season since former Bucs commander Greg Schiano was around.
Since coming into the league in 2012, Davis leads all defenders in solo tackles (696) and fumble recoveries (14).
Yet getting to a Pro Bowl is usually struggle because he doesn’t have enough sacks, just one this season.
So Joe asked Bucco Bruce Arians last week what David means to the team.
“Oh, I can’t put that into words — or money,” Arians said. “It is amazing. Great leader. Great player. He takes young guys under his wing. He is everything you want in a leader.”
So when Joe asked Arians with the season David is having if he would be surprised if David didn’t make a Pro Bowl, Arians didn’t mumble.
“I’d be shocked, yeah.”
Arians believes the move inside will help David make the Pro Bowl this winter, since he won’t be compared to outside linebackers who are sack artists.
“It should help him a bunch, I hope,” Arians said. “He should be there.”

My favorite Buccaneer by far. He’s finally playing in an aggressive defense again and he’s had a great year. I think his leadership role has been elevated since McCoy is gone and I sense a chemistry building on this defense and I love it. I think the front office should do whatever it takes to keep this defense together next season. David will lead these guys to great things I feel it.

LVD is just as good as DB55 (HOF). The only difference is human. We’re all different. He also is friends with GMC. As is ME13, JW and Donovan (OL). Suh won’t be here next year. LVD is one of the two team leaders and highly respected by his fellow teammates. The fact he hasn’t been selected to the Pro Bowl shows what a joke it is. Ka-ching, you know.

if buc players and coaches spent as much time on trying to win games than worrying about meaningless pro bowls and subjective popularity lists maybe they would not be the laughingstock of the sports world for a better part of 40 years….. at the end of the day the only thing that matters is on field results… lvd has had decent season but his first decent since schiano so why reward a slacker that plays well every 5 or 6 years…. glazers have trained low standard bucfan to worship meaningless awards and accept losing with excuses and smiles…. pro bowls are a distraction from losing that low standard bucfan clings to like their crackpipes at the motel 6

LVD been my favorite man on defense since after his rookie year. Heavily underated through the years of bad defensive players and coaches.

He should be and everyone said moving him to 3-4 would put him in the probowl but he’s not getting the sacks so he’ll unfortunately be overlooked again

typical bucfan confusing his mancrush with actual greatness…. lvd has had 2 good season and makes a play or two here and there. he has never been dominate and he has never been underrated quite the opposite he has been given free passes… his mentally weak arse has captained / co-captained some of the worst defensive units the world has witnessed… no free passes… he is popular mediocre player which makes him a hof in low standard bucfan minds. anything excuses to distract from losing
