Good At Third And Long
November 21st, 2019Here is another example of Bucs offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich getting the job done, even though his offense looks about as smooth as sandpaper.
The Bucs are one of the NFL’s best offenses on third-and-long. Yes, it’s true. This comes from the good people of NFL Films as they compile data for BSPN’s NFL Matchup.
The Bucs are No. 10 at converting first downs when it is third-and-long. The Bucs convert 28.2 percent of such down-and-distances.
This is why it is hard to judge Leftwich. His offenses flat out flunk the eyeball test. Yet you look at raw numbers, and there isn’t a team out there who wouldn’t have their offense strive to get the same production.
No matter how you slice it, there is really just one area of this team that drags the whole organization down week after week. It’s the secondary. Why this wasn’t addressed before the trade deadline is a mystery.
Call it, Tampa Bay’s version of Jimmy Hoffa.

A more imaginative first down play and we wouldn’t have to deal with 3rd and long?

its not BL…
ITS JW!!!!!
BL has the offense #4 in yards and #6 in scoring…#10 at 3rd and long….
if we had a QB that didnt turn the ball over so much, we would be #1 in yards and #1 in points….
GO BUCS!!!!

We are always in 3rd in long.

the funny part is, folks will pull out all type of stats, numbers and theories for JW but when it comes to BL, they’ll talk about running barber….lol…ignoring the cold hard facts….lol…
#4 in yards
#6 in points
#10 in 3rd and long
#3 has to go!!!!!!
GO BUCS!!!!!!

Even better at getting into third and long situations.

Look at who’s 4th, hmmm gonna be a long day with our secondary.

Winston and the offense have a lot of practice at 3rd and long situations.

I think we need to hire Raheem Morris. It seems he has the golden touch, since it was him that turned around the Falcons secnodary.

Leftwich is clueless. Teams that run the ball the higher % of the time have the better records. You can’t run the ball 6 times in any game and expect to win. I believe two of those runs were GL too. He’s another Koetter and Bowles is proving to be another Mike Smith.
Bowles can’t figure out that maybe he should double Kamara and/or Thomas on every pass play. I mean what is he afraid of that Traquan Smith might go off. Totally inept. It seems the more these coaches have gotten paid over the years the stupider they’ve become.

@Joe
It’s not hard to judge Byron bubba gump’s offense if you can see past the smoke and mirrors stats. It’s like being some dumb, ignorant, entitled, rich guy who has also had the luxury of beung the recipient of nepotism because his dad was formerly a successful driver in a past life. You get to drive a brand new Ford GT 40, Ferrari, or a Lamborghini at a local county raceway or dragstrip because daddy handed you the keys. And even though you’ve never raced a day in your life, your bound to eventually win some races just thru the virtue of the finely tuned machine you’re manning the accelerator to. But just because you have the horsepower under the hood in the form of the best WR tandem in the league and what could be also, the best TE tandem in the league (if OJ’s wheels hadn’t been blown off this season so far) doesn’t make you a bona fide playcaller or driver worth a sh!t. That Bill Walsh in the making comment was the last straw for me. BA is sincerely full of his own BS and this Bucs fan, AIN’T BUYING the BS he’s selling, PERIOD. WE ALL HAVE EYES HERE BRUCEY AND WE DAM SURE AIN’T BLIND.

lol ..all these stats that make things look brilliant when we’re constantly being told that stats are for losers. Joe’s hypocrisy is even biased. smh
