It’s hard to believe the Falcons traveled to New Orleans and Carolina the past two weeks and left without allowing a touchdown.
So Joe had to turn on the game film.
Oh, boy.

“BoyDog” was the glorious nickname bestowed upon 2011 Buccaneers first-round pick Adrian Clayborn, the defensive end who had a strong rookie year but couldn’t stay healthy and was launched by Lovie Smith after another injury in Week 1 of the 2014 season. Former Bucs head coach Raheem Morris said he was convinced that Clayborn was half man and half canine.
But Clayborn, 31, proved to be a survivor. After three seasons in Atlanta, he ran off to the Belicheats and won a Super Bowl. Now he’s back in Atlanta and has been a significant part of the Falcons’ shocking resurgence over the last two games, upping their record to 3-7.
Clayborn has three sacks and four quarterback hits in the past two games. But more important, the Falcons increased his playing time. He moved from truly part-time guy to more than half the snaps against the Saints and Panthers.
Frankly, Clayborn looks damn good.
No, Joe isn’t fearful of Clayborn against the Bucs. After watching that film, Joe is fearful of the entire Falcons roster. How does a team go from crap to dominant, albeit in just two games? It’s almost like what happened to the Bucs in the middle of the 2016 season.

Clayborn was a low effort, often injured guy here. He had to go, and I don’t regret it one bit.

The list of players Lovie decided to let go is long and depressing. As a bucs fans we regularly see what we think is a struggling player leave only to have a solid to a strong career elsewhere. Lovie Smith set our rebuild back a decade or more with who he released or traded away.

Listening to 92.9 in ATL this am, and the homer hosts of the 3-7 Falcons are talking about how bad the Bucs suck..specifically and vociferously about JW and our defense.
We are a laughingstock, even to a 3-7 team.

The resurgence of Atlanta is due in large part to Raheem Morris taking total control of the defense, and Dirk Koetter calling plays, instead of Dan Quinn!
We will play 2 angry fired ex head coaches this week.
Unless we play our A Game, look for them to run up the score, and try to make us look bad.
It might get very ugly Sunday 🙁

See this is why I severely dislike many of you posters. When he was here y’all hated on him. “McIceCream never had any help, blah blah blah” but no that he (unlike Fran trakenton) has a SB ring no one remembers ragging on him.
