Two Injuries For Demar Dotson

October 6th, 2019

Demar Dotson is not going to have a happy 34th birthday next week.

A Buccaneer since 2009, Dotson left today’s game injured and it seems like it will cost him at least one game.

“He came in with a calf and battled it all game long,” said Bruce Arians after the game on the Buccaneers Radio Network. But it was a hamstring injury in the game that knocked him out, Arians confirmed.

Backup right tackle Josh Wells, a sixth-year journeyman acquired this summer, came in and looked bad in a hurry.

At 34 with a bad hammy, that’s not a good recipe for a 6-foot-9 tackle who already has a calf issue.

Joe knows many Bucs fans love to hammer Dotson, but he is a better pass blocker than most and the Bucs don’t appear to have anyone good enough to replace him.

Wells looked HORRID ….the trenches on both sides of the ball will have to be addressed in the draft….but that is what I was calling for last spring…

  2. Buc in Nashville Says:

He has been hot garbage on a hot garbage line anyhow. How much worse can it get really?

  3. tmaxcon Says:

Dotson injury is a blessing…. move on sir to your next career

  4. 813bucboi Says:

    Stick a folk in him

    GO BUCS

  5. DB55 Says:

Joe there’s always someone better to replace them especially when we’re talking quarterbacks

Just listen to your posters Joe. Not one of them (Bandit) can come up with a name but they sure as chit are confident that they can replace Jay Miss with a real qb.

Dotson should have been put out of his misery years ago but we drafted CB, DT and TE instead of oline so there you have it and here we are.

    Thx god!
But I agree he is a good guy!

  7. Buc believer Says:

Knowing the way Licht works this injury will result in a contract extension along with a big fat raise and signing bonus.

  8. Pelbuc61 Says:

That means Licht will probably draft another LB and kicker.

  9. buc15 Says:

I’m sure his feelings got injured as well

  10. Dapostman Says:

Been a good warrior but father time is undefeated. We need to see that tackle we got from Pittsburgh.

  11. #1bucsfan Says:

    He’s bin done for awhile.

  12. JimBuc2 Says:

I like Dot. Dude is a warrior and deserves respect. I just really feel bad for him that he’ll never get the SB bling. That is a shameful indictment on Licht ignoring factual evidence on the guard spot next to Demar. Good on ya Dot, but Father Time has caught up with you. Thanks for a great run.

  13. Jean Lafitte Says:

Well let’s just hope Josh Wells settles in.

  14. Jonathan Limpchimpi Says:

By all accounts a good man…made himself into a NFL player from basketball roots. He looks pretty stiff out there. If this is it…very good career.

  15. TexBuc Says:

Thanks for your years with the Bucs but time to see what we have on the bench worth developing.

  16. orlbucfan Says:

Stick a fork in all the haters/yahoos of a good player.

  17. Marcus Says:

What is wrong with Jerald Hawkins?

  18. unbelievable Says:

As much criticism as Dotson deserves, we will all be crying for him to come back when we see his replacement against Carolina next week.

We have zero depth on the o-line. Zero

  19. Capt. Tim Says:

Its criminal that we we dont have some young Tackles that we’ve been grooming.
We invested time and money in Leonard Wester, among others.
    All gone
Now our backups are Wells and Hawkins.
    Both new to the team.
Guess Wells will get to learn as he plays. Better hope Donovan stays healthy
