O.J. Out

October 25th, 2019

Injury report update.

Well, at least we know up front why Bucs tight end O.J. Howard won’t be targeted in the passing game Sunday.

Per Jenna Laine of ESPN, Howard has been ruled out for Sunday’s game with the Titans. No surprise after he skipped practice yesterday with a hamstring injury.

Also out are right guard Alex Cappa and linebacker Jack Cichy, per Bucco Bruce Arians earlier this week.

One man not ruled out, per Arians by way of Laine, is outside linebacker Jason Pierre-Paul. But that doesn’t mean he will suit up either. Per Laine, Arians floated there is a possibility JPP could be activated for Sunday’s game. Officially, JPP is not on the active roster.

Arians did not speculate about the chances JPP will play Sunday, if at all.

The loss of Howard hurts bad. Joe knows the Bucs were keeping Howard back to block. And with the sieves backups the Bucs have starting on the right side of the line and no Howard, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, might just be running for his life.

Again.

When you are injured…you don’t play am I right? So calm down and let’s get the win without him!!

  2. Dewey Selmon Says:

This has trade all over it. Win Sunday and he is healthy, lose and he’ll be gone by Tues afternoon. Patriots under bid or he would of been gone by now. They are trying to drive up the price. if any TE gets injured Sun on a team that is in contention we could get something out of him, but it’s not going to be a #1

  3. Sharthappens Says:

Wake up ladies. He is not playing because they don’t want him to get hurt before the trade deadline.

  4. Grt1 Says:

A number 1 pick is definitely in play . Old and slow Sanu got a second rounder. Howard will definitely bring in a 1.

  5. Ndog Says:

Give it up, Jameis could get hit within one second every play and people would still blame him regardless of whos out.

  6. Tampabuscsbro Says:

Lol Ndog. You’re essentially the resident lol cow around here. You do realize that Winston cannot deal with pressure. there are QBs right now that have been in the league much less time then Winston playing behind much worse offensive lines then Winston that deal with pressure and have much better pocket awareness right? but for some reason these godawful performances Winston has are always someone else’s fault. It’s never on him to you.

  7. Dewey Selmon Says:

The more I think about it i wonder if the Bucs are gearing up on draft ammo to jump some teams to select a QB?

  8. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Let’s see what Tanner Hudson can do against starters…I know fans are down on Perriman but I’m glad he is back.

  9. StonedBuc Says:

Lol tanner hudson is not an nfl TE he will be ragdolled by DEs…auclair is the man for this game

  10. NPRSageBoy Says:

Makes perfect sense; BA can blame OJ when JayMiss $hits the bed with another 5 pick game.

  11. Son of Kobe Faker Says:

“OJ goin to pull a Ramsey

OJ and his agent knows they cant get paid with 13 receptions and BA and his organic lovechild Leftwich is here to stay

    going to get traded

OJ will get yearly 100+ receptions and 1300 yards

OJ just couldnt wait for gameflow to occur”

    Son of Sam

    unleash auclair!!!!!!!….lol…

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  13. Pewter power Says:

We have the most dramatic fans ever. If they dont see the injury then it must be fake.

  14. Bosch Says:

Another non-contact injury. Bucs are good at that. Coming out of the bye week even.

Actually when you watch the games, which you clearly don’t, when he has a pocket, ie the Rams game he actually tears it up but sure blame the fact that they get him hit every play on the QB.

  16. zzbuc Says:

Trading OJ, is one of the most stupid moves we can make…….Flat out stupid…….Well if u check last 2 GM on Bucs history would make sense, most of their moves were stupid……..

  17. Pewter power Says:

Bunch of geniuses listening to the Joe’s…basically if we lose this game their bright idea is to get rid of the veterans on the team and blow it up to get even younger inexperienced draft picks in here on a team that is suffering from lack of experience and mistakes from young players…..that’s just brilliant.

  18. Tampabuscsbro Says:

Ndog you keep blaming the O line but there are much more inexperienced QBs playing behind much worse O lines then ours that can deal with pressure and make good decisions in the face of said pressure.

  19. Bucamania Says:

    More targets for Scotty Miller!

    Get Tanner Hudson the ball.

  20. buc15 Says:

I’m excited to see Hudson get some snaps.

  21. tmaxcon Says:

    pewter power

why in the hell do you get so damn attached to garbage…. let them all go… you could blow this minor league franchise up every damn year and produce the same results as the bums you think are good and can’t live without…. not many keepers in the entire franchise from owners to janitors…

  22. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

TampaBucsbro – What young QBs playing behind a worse o-line than the Bucs is out performing Jameis??? Names and teams please!

  23. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I guarantee OJ will not get traded, people. Wake up.

  24. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

The Bucs are 27th in the league in pass protection:

Denver – Joe Flacco is young and lighting it up?
Arizona – Their rookie is not doing much of anything
Miami – Josh Rosen tearing it up or something?
Jets – Darnold is seeing ghosts apparently and looked god awful last week in his 2nd game
TN – Well Mariota just got benched.

So tell me again about these young hot shots tearing it up behind horrible offensive lines.

  25. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Sorry not just horrible, but “worse” offensive lines.

  26. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    @Tampabuscsbro

You blame Ndog for believing in a player? Listen, there is nothing wrong with that. I admire Ndog for wanting to believe.

It’s far better than giving up on a player whose success means the success of our team.

The trolls laugh at Ndog. The true fans admire his strong belief.

  27. Pugs&Bucs Says:

Dalvin Cook… 28 touches, 171 yards and a TD last night.

But no bigs. OJ Howard “fell” to us.

  28. Tampabuscsbro Says:

Man the Jameis defense force is out there today fine I will give you names. Kyler Murray and Daniel Jones face pressure as much if not more then Winston and can deal with pressure much better then our QB with anxiety problems does. both of them are rookies Winston is a 5 year veteran. While not a rookie the Texans QB Deshuan Watson played behind a horrible O line last year taking more sacks and hits then anyone else in the NFL to the point he couldn’t get on a plane after a game due to a punctured lung and still managed to deal with pressure coming at him. That was his first year in the NFL as a starter he is still taking a lot but his O line has been playing much better this year.

Also this whole not being able to deal with pressure issue of his is effecting us. on half of all sacks he holds on to the ball for way too long and in too many instances he ends up walking into defensive linemen that could have been avoided by making better reads or having better pocket awareness.

  29. Tampabuscsbro Says:

Also for the record I have been a supporter of Winston in the past. He isn’t getting any better a QB that is going to blow every 3-4 games isn’t one we can win with. it’s time to move on.

  30. Alanbucsfan Says:

    Buccaneer Bonzai-

    I believed in Jameis
I want to believe in Jameis
I like winning and hate losing
    Sorry, Jameis

  31. Tampabuscsbro Says:

Same Alan the people in here don’t like us for saying these things cause it’s always someone or something else as to why he cannot stop turning the ball over and making such awful decisions.

  32. Pelbuc61 Says:

    Please trade him.

  33. Ndog Says:

I love the bad decisions comment. Like getting hit as you throw or ball going off of someone’s hands or still trying to make a play when your down by 14 is a bad decision. You people do realize that Jameis has more TOs than he really should because at the end of games he does not shy away from putting the ball up cause he cares more about winning than his numbers. Last week was a perfect example as the last two picks he just put up to give his guys a chance. A QB that cares more about his numbers than his team doesn’t do that. Many many QBs would never do that but he does cause that is how much he wants to win. Over the course of his career he probably has 15 picks for this reason and no that does not excuse any of his mistakes but it does point out who we have and you want someone like him on your team bottomline.

  34. lokog Says:

even though I would like to trade oj and get some picks it would be stupid to trade him because our gm cant make good picks id rather they pay oj instead of jameis

  35. Tampabuscsbro Says:

Okay Winston still holds on to the ball for way too long and cannot make good decisions even if he had a Line of all pros he would still blow games because he is not consistent. also okay Winston wants to win so badly but every time he tries to go out there and play super man he ends up making an awful decision that puts his team in a worse spot that gives them even less of a chance to win.

  36. Ndog Says:

So when he got time in the Rams game was he horrible?

  37. Alanbucsfan Says:

    Ndog-

Nobody is accusing Jameis of lack of effort.
He’s just not an NFL quality QB- He’d be great in Arena League or maybe Canada.
He’s in his 5th year, he is who he is
I’m a Bucs fan and Bucs ain’t winning consistently with Jameis

  38. BigHog Says:

Some of these fans are absurd, some know nothing, some just plain jack asses

  39. Marine Buc Says:

After several seasons with the Bucs we are still talking about OJ Howard’s potential. How many more years are we going to talk about this guy’s potential? No doubt he is an amazing athlete but I don’t think he is a very good tight end or football player.

  40. Pewter power Says:

Same idiots were here talking about moving on from rojo and were dogging vea for getting injured and unfortunately too many people think they know how to be a gm, wouldn’t want any of you fools to be gm at the trade deadline for my team, it looks so easy to you because you dont get paid to do it you just watch. Thought Dorsey for Cleveland was the best gm with this super bowl roster? You guys dont know how to gm you just know names.

Licht probably knows this corner situation will sink this roster so why make a playoff push if none of you think they have a playoff roster, why trade away draft picks?

  41. The Coroner Says:

Well. He certainly didn’t hurt his leg running for touchdowns.

  42. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Thx Bucsbro for trying to defend your stupidity. Ok Bruh, Daniel Jones has 6 TDs and 7 picks for a 75 QBR. Basically he sucks unless he plays the Bucs secondary every week. Also, his line is better than the Bucs. Murray has 7 TDs and 4 picks. Not very impressive. Jameis has 12 TDs and 10 picks and you damn well know more that many of those were due to no fault of his own. I will take the QB that scores TDs at basically double the rate of the other guys. If this team had any defense at all Jameis would have about a third of the turnovers he has. He threw two picks last week alone during desperation time at the end of the game. He threw two picks that were due to a pass rush that was able to hit his arm as he was throwing. Look, I get it, you hate Jameis now. But the facts are the facts. Daniel Jones is looking like a reach and a bad pick now, Murray is a total question mark. The fact that you mentioned Jones proves to me that you don’t really watch football.

  43. Waterboy Says:

Pro Bowler Jameis Winston will be running from ghosts regardless of who’s in there.

  44. firethecannons Says:

auclair in place of oj blocking

  45. BA FAN Says:

Auclair is the best blocking TE we have and I am glad he will get to show it this week. He is not quite as fast as OJ but doesn’t throw up one hand to catch passes like OJ this year (which has resulted in two tipped ball interceptions this year), and he will get a lot more yac than O.J. (who avoids hits like a sissy running out of bounds). Those who criticized Jameis for holding the ball too long have not looked at the fact that last game the Panthers usually rushed the Bucs only with their front four (because McCoy was a monster at DE and was putting lots of pressure on Jameis—proving Tmax and his buds were dead wrong that he was soft and washed up due to age) so the Panthers had seven players covering our 3 resulting in nobody open and you would have looked indecisive too waiting for someone to get open too. When Jameis is protected the result is he can beat top teams like the Rams! Wake up doubters.

  46. TexBuc Says:

OJ ran 4.51 coming out of college which is what Mike Evans runs so just line him on the outside as a WR.

    Just my vote
