Cappa’s Back
October 30th, 2019After breaking his arm in the second quarter against the Saints — and playing through the injury to the final whistle! — Alex Cappa got two games and a bye week to heal and he’s back at practice today.
That’s the word via the Tweetings of Greg Auman, writer for the pay-per-view site TheAthletic.com.
What a warrior Cappa is and what a welcome development for an offensive line that played poorly against the Titans on Sunday.
Per Bruce Arians talking yesterday on WDAE, a running game is critical to the Bucs, or any team, being successful in Seattle, where Tampa Bay will try to save it season on Sunday.
Cappa, Tampa Bay’s starting right guard, will have fresh legs and perhaps return a level of cohesion back to the O-line, as The Earl of Watford era mercifully hits the pause button.

One speckle of good news at least…

I hope hes 100%. He was starting to really play well before he got injured.

You cant heal a broken arm in 3 weeks!!! Pushing and pulling with 300 pound dudes how is that going to hold up…..well good luck against Seattle, not sure how much he’s healed
October 30th, 2019 at 12:22 pm
It must have been a fracture because human bones take 6-8 weeks to heal …
October 30th, 2019 at 12:32 pm
Cappa sucks, Marpet is slightly better. Jensen is over paid, and average. D.Smith takes more plays off then he makes, and last but not least old man Dotson. If Dot isn’t being flagged for holding, he’s giving up a sack. The whole line is below average except for what Licht paid them. Then you add the turnover machine QB and you have the dumpster fire Licht built, your Tampa Bay Bucs!!

so thats why we didnt make a trade….lol…
GO BUCS!!!!

Kid is tough as nails, I’m more than fine with him being our starting RG going forward. Here’s hoping his presence gets us a W in Seattle.
October 30th, 2019 at 12:46 pm
Cappa is an ironman for sure.
October 30th, 2019 at 12:50 pm
Beat the Seahawks and Cardinals and the Bucs go 3-1 against NFC West. Trick or treat.
October 30th, 2019 at 12:53 pm
Isn’t that kind of fast for a broken arm?
Must have just been dislocated.
October 30th, 2019 at 12:56 pm
@Hodad
Marpet is one of the best at the position.
Cappa is a second year player who has been playing very well.
Jensen is above average, and you can’t overpay for a good center.
Smith does take some plays off, but all players do. He’s still slightly good.
Dotson is the weakest link.

Could have been a dislocation. Pop it back into place and only takes a few weeks possibly.

Breaks take anywhere from 4-8 weeks depending on severity and how large the bone is. There are two bones in the lower arm, radius and ulna. Both are fairly small, with the ulna being smaller and shorter. Most likely that is the bone. When/if he returns to action Sunday, that will be four full weeks for his return, which is also the same prognosis for the smaller non-weight bearing bone of the lower leg, the fibula.

What ever happened to Gerald Hawkins the OL we acquired from Pittsburgh on cutdown day?
October 30th, 2019 at 1:08 pm
We’ll never know, but I’m guessing fracture means a crack in the bone and not displaced (broken in two, basically). He’ll have a cast on it. It won’t be healed, but the pain will be to the point it’s manageable, again I’d guess.

My thoughts as well. There are fractures and there are fractures but we call them all broken bones.

You can dislocate an elbow, or a shoulder, maybe a wrist, finger.
Not sure how you dislocate a bone.
October 30th, 2019 at 2:28 pm
Cappa continues to develop and become more of a bad a$$ every time he gets reps. We will need to draft a OT in the high but the one thing we can see is how well the OL coaches are teaching him to be a better OG. Couldve been Benenoch and Dusty Dotson starting this year. We’d be 0-7 in that situation.

look dude I don’t mind being called an a$$hole or maxipad but calling me Jason Licht is a little much pal…..

I think Jason Licht was Ndog. It’s so nice to not have to visualize Ndog sniffing Jameis’ jock anymore.
October 30th, 2019 at 3:09 pm
Maybe pass on first down to set up that running game. Maybe not.

Tmax funniest thing you’ve said since I’ve been on this site

“I think Jason Licht was Ndog”
I thought the same.
Also always thought JW’s running style was “Baby Giraffe”, but it’s got to be hard to run while Ndog has your balls in his mouth….

Marpet has all you sheep fooled. He’s average at best, only looks good compared to the crap around him. How many pro bowls has he been to? How often have you heard anyone outside of our fan base say he’s one of the best guards in the league? Crickets.
