Bizarre Bucs
October 2nd, 2019Yes, the Bucs are unpredictable.
Not even hot dog eating contest-protesting, mock draft-scowling, L.L. Bean-wearing, Second Amendment abolitionist, Mike Florio-arguing, parrot-insensitive, chewing-with-his-mouth-open, soup-gulping, California train-romancing, anti-football proliferation, outhouse-admiring, airline-napping, steerage-flying, Yogi Berra-worshiping, urinal picture-taking, video game-playing, Taylor Swift-listening, pickpocket-thwarting, Bucs-uniform-frowning, Allie-LaForce-smitten, Big-Ten-Network-hating, pedestrian-bumping, olive oil-lapping, popcorn-munching, coffee-slurping, fried-chicken-eating, oatmeal-loving, circle-jerking, craft beer-chugging, cricket-watching, scone-loathing, college football-naïve, baseball-box-score-reading, NPR-honk, filthy-hotel-staying, fight-instigating, barista-training social activist Peter King of NBC Sports can figure them out.
However, King has detected a potential tell that things just may be different for the Bucs this year.
You figure out the Bucs. Lose at home to the Giants when they can’t make a chippy field goal, then score 55 points on a defense that had held foes to 16 points a game this year. They’re 0-2 at home, 2-0 on the road. Jameis Winston has a couple of big-league receivers in Chris Godwin and Mike Evans. I watched a lot of their beatdown of the Rams, and what impressed me, frankly, was Winston not blowing it after throwing the pick-six to narrow the lead to five points with eight minutes left. That’s new.
Look, Joe is beyond geeked about the win on Sunday. But let’s see the Bucs string a few of these together.
You know, this year the division is just greased for the Bucs to do something. Pouty Cam Newton is down and out for who knows how long. The Panthers don’t look like a playoff team. The Dixie Chicks are circling the drain and Dan Quinn is on the watch list for Black Monday, if he makes it that far. And of course, the Saints are without Hall of Famer Drew Brees for who knows how long?
If the Bucs can beat the Saints this coming Sunday in the Big Easy, Bucs fans just could be in for a helluva ride.

Sundays game is huge. October is usually the month that buries the Bucs.

Protect the quarterback, run the ball and play def.
If the def can hold opponents to 24 point or less this will be a miracle season with or without 16 interceptions

Sunday’s game is important. Keep the momentum on the road!

A Sunday win puts us in the picture. A loss and it’s 2 games down to the saints and a steep hill to climb the rest of the way. THIS GAME IS HUGE!

Hopefully we will have Devin White, Dean & Ryan Smith back…..
We look to be fairly healthy……the keys to this game are very simple.
Stop Kamara…….protect Jameis……run with Rojo……no turnovers.

Bucs will be 4-2 at the bye!!!
After the bye week, the Bucs will welcome back JPP and the newest member of the Bucs, Patrick Peterson!!! That is when the NFL will take notice and see the Bucs as serious playoff contenders!!!!
Bucs 31 Aints 17

Congrats to Winston on winning NFC Offensive player of the week! Nice job!

Beat the Saints at their own game. Quick, short passes and run the ball. Draw them in, then go deep when they realize they can’t get to Winston fast enough. Just like they use Brees.
This one is all on the play calling and the defense.

BBonzai:
Agree 100%. Beat Sean Payton with his own methodology. Win in the Big Easy and the world is our oyster, as the Great One used to say. That would of course be Jackie Gleason. One of my all time favorite movies is The Hustler starring Gleason, George Patton and Paul Newman as Fast Eddie from New York. A true black and white epic film. “Eddie, I can’t beat you. Pay the man!”
Go Bucs! Beat them Aints!!

This has been a fun week for everyone except Todd Bowles. Its time for him to figure this stuff out. Minter has been making splash plays but I’m hoping White might make a difference. I hope Ryan Smith will. Suh, Vea, Barrett and Gholston, yes Gholston have been balling out this season. Lets hope for Bowles to bounce back

Martin Fennelly…not a fave but…he had an interesting take either yesterday or Monday.
We all want to win…that is a given. But when we win all we get is bragging rights. At least I’m still waiting on the SB check that goes out to FANS of the winning team.
So when I determine why am I cursing at a TV screen or standing up and screaming in joy. Why do I enjoy that bond at RayJay when watching “our” team.
It simply boils down to sports being our entertainment.
So riddle me this…is this years Bucs team entertaining?
Fennelly says yes.
I say HELL YEAH. I love this team. Start with the players…they are individually entertaining for me. They have style and now that JW has finally grown up they have class.
Learning more about Suh I realized how smart and classy he is…not just a mean machine….how about two WR’s who revive a debate I haven’t seen since the old great Steeler teams.
Which WR is #1…Swann or Stallworth? Different styles but both terribly effective. We can say the same thing about ME and Godwin! And we get a huge additional benefit from these guys also being class acts. Playing a position that includes the biggest prima donnas in the game…BOTH of our stars have a lunchbox mentality and have sublimated their egos for the good of the team.
This team is already entertaining the hell out of me and I guess it can go without saying how entertaining BA is.

Now looking for consistency an discipline. A lot of us knew it was coaching an not talent an even talented players still need development which the last coaching staff didn’t do an the previous one before that. Cut down on the penalties an play consistent good football an this team is going to END THE DROUGHT

Fans keep saying get White back. But as far as I’m concerned Minter has been playing better.
