Desires hate from Bucs fans.
Mr. One Tackle, former Bucs stud defensive tackle, is bummed about playing the Bucs Thursday night.
Oh, to be sure, GMC, who spent nine seasons as the Bucs anchor on the defensive line, really, really, really wants to play his former team. However, GMC is bummed about the matchup Thursday night.
And why is that? GMC, now with the Stinking Panthers, told the Charlotte pen and mic club, per Tiffany Blackmon of NFL Network, that he wanted the game to be at the Den of Depression, not in Charlotte because he wanted to get booed.

Now, c’mon. GMC is no dummy. He knows the loud cloud would love nothing more than to use GMC’s own Batarang, drag him out of the Den of Depression and dump him into the Bay. Why the fans hate GMC so much is still a mystery to Joe, but whatever. We’ve gone round and round on this before.
Joe doesn’t think a whole lot about this because some players actually get off when opposing fans boo them. Professional athletes are sometimes the strangest creatures. They look and dig and pry for any sort of benign comment and twist that into “hate” enabling them to work themselves into a froth and go out and bust heads.
Perhaps that is the angle GMC is working here?

Maybe the Glazers can have cardboard pewter rings printed and passed out to fans as they walk into the Ray Jay for the Panthers home game, because that will be the closest McCoy gets to having his name on the Ring of Honor

I am one of those disgruntled fans Joe doesn’t understand. I need to get over GMC but his #93 drama made me tune in to his game tape to see how he did… same old Geraldini shooting upfield while the back runs right into the gap he just vacated… same old Batman pretend rushing with a lot of hand checking when double-blocked. The only difference is how little he played given he’s in the second rotation. It was just sad when compared to how ManBeast Suh was making stops on 3rd and 1 and wreaking havoc with his new mate VV. We can all move on… there’s nothing left to see here.

Was never a true GMC-basher, but comments like his could entice me to become one. GMC ate up being the ‘face of the franchise’, which is fine. But he shouldn’t be all that surprised that Bucs’ fans aren’t exactly thrilled about him signing with our arch-rivals, the Panthers, just to spite this organization. Simple fact seemed to be that he didn’t fit into the plans of the new coaching staff, especially at his $13 mil pricetag. Happens all the time in the NFL, that’s why it’s looked at as a BUSINESS. Get over it GMC. You’re on a 1-year, $8.0 mil contract with them. Be grateful; they’ll be the ones who dump you come December.

Joe – I don’t think think anyone here hates Gerold McCoy. We were just frustrated by his lack of productivity compared to his compensation. No way was he worth $13 Million dollars. I honestly don’t think he is even worth the $4 Million Carolina paid.

No I hate him ^^^^^^used to dislike the fact HE thought of himself as a superstar and the organization sold him to the fans as such. Just because he was a pretty good player on a crappy team does not make him a superstar. As you see in Carolina he isn’t much on a team with really good players. Now used as an expensive $8 million situational player which is pretty much what he has been for the past five years.

I say when he comes to Tampa, we give him the silent treatment. He’s clearly wanting to be booed for motivation. Let’s pretend he’s not even there. Nobody make a peep that week when he’s introduced.
It’ll work out well as to not motivate him anymore than he’ll already be (in fact it could have the adverse effect by giving him the silent treatment) and it’s not rude as to boo him, since he did give us some good years, was a pillar in the community and a good (not great or iconic) player and great person overall. And he doesn’t need to be cheered w/ the way he decided to exit.

Suh is the DT we all deserved and needed. Even if he left after a few years like he did in Detroit, he at least provides a nasty, tough, mentality and in his first game, #93 flashed more good plays than we’ve ever seen from McCoy in a season.
