Caleb Benenoch To Sign With Patriots

September 17th, 2019

Smiling

This is too much fun.

As Joe has written and said so many times, nothing in sports comes close to the never ending soap opera of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

This morning, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport Twittered that booted Bucs tackle/guard Caleb Benenoch will be signed by the New England Belicheats today. Per Rapoport, nine teams were in the hunt for Benenoch but the Bucs’ 2016 fifth-round pick preferred to play for legendary offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia. Smart move.

Man, Bill Belicheat loves to scoop up ex-Bucs. Why is that?

Benenoch could jump in the starting lineup quickly.

On Sunday, the Patriots were down their starting center and right tackle. And then they lost starting left tackle Isaiah Wynn to a toe injury in the first quarter against the Dolphins.

Oh boy !!!! this will be good….LOL….maybe the Patriots saw that he was really good for the first 2.3 seconds….and that is ALL Brady needs

  2. Youngbucs Says:

Another fat blob that can’t play in the heat or run block better watch that side of the line very closely Brady.

  3. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I will be surprised if Benenoch turns around to be a good Olineman…..he was terrible for us….no matter the coaching.

  4. StonedBuc Says:

Brady will rip him a new one first missed assignment

  5. doolnutts Says:

Figures.. The way the Patriots do things he’ll end up in the pro bowl. HAHA

  6. VA Tom Says:

You gotta admit it’s fun! Good luck CB. Thanks for pointing this out Joe. That’s hilarious. I hope he earns a starting spot.

  7. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Wonder if Joe will ever post……..”got rid of Benenoch for no good reason”?

Things are certainly looking up when the Patriots sign our rejects…..

  8. casual observer Says:

My guess is that he won’t last long up there.

  9. Colonel Angus Says:

Americas Pro Bowl Guard Caleb Benenoch!

  10. Jean Lafitte Says:

Only shows how desperate all teams are finding offensive lineman. Especially ones experienced regardless of how bad they may be. Actually Benenoch probably wanted out of Tampa and played like crap on purpose. I wouldn’t put it past any of todays football players. They want out so they play bad or act like total creeps like AB, M Fitzpatrick, or J Ramsey. Even that 1st round turkey DE Taco C who wants off Dallas because of his lazy work ethic has relegated him to backup. Tom Brady’s gonna get smashed and will wish soon enuff that he should of retired.

Every player that is lucky enough to exit the black hole that is Tampa bay Buccaneers football is truly blessed. The only thing more embarrassing than the on field product the glazers field is the ignorant fan base that actually believes this is a competitive franchise and that the irrelevant small town retirement community is a desirable destination for actual football players.

  12. Steven007 Says:

It’s clear you don’t live here trollmax, because Tampa Bay is not a small town retirement community by anyone’s definition.

    Steven007

Clearly you’ve never visited an actual city. But nice try little fella….

  14. firethecannons Says:

Lol! that is crazy news, he was pure junk for us. Now he is next in line for a superbowl ring! Pats must be desperate–just saying–he was that bad. Now I have a reason to watch Pat’s games (their dominance is repulsive). Hope he gets blown up over and over like he did here.

  15. tmaxcon Says:

    Little stevie

Tampa isn’t even the 4th most important city in Florida much less comparing it to an actual city. Tampa’s home I love it but just like those washed up has beens with one good year low standard bucfan calls legends the city is what it is just as irrelevant as the nfl franchise it hosts.

They say one mans trash is another mans treasure

  17. Ghost of Darrell Henderson Says:

I wonder if the Joez or one of the stat geeks could explain to us the financial ramifications of the Benenoch – Patriots deal.

Unless I’m wrong, the Bucs are on the hook for CB’s whole salary. Therefore the Pats would just have to pay the NFL minimum and the Bucs pay the balance.

How would that effect the Buc’s cap space?

  18. DB55 Says:

Thanks joe. Got a good laugh out of this.

  19. AlteredEgo Says: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

Ghost…pretty sure CB cleared waivers…he starts over

  20. 813bucboi Says:

    pray for brady!!!!….lol…

    GO BUCS!!!!

  21. Ghost of Darrell Henderson Says:

I believe that any player on the roster for Game One salary is guaranteed.

    I could be wrong.

That’s why I was so upset that they cut him when they did.

  22. orlbucfan Says:

What exactly is it with Belicheat and the Bucs? He spied on (and got caught) the team when Dungy was here. Just about anytime a player is waived and/or released guess who picks them up? Guess Licht isn’t as bad a GM as the howlers on here believe.

  23. Steven007 Says:

Trollmax, your endless redundant word salad doesn’t really mean anything because we all know where it comes from. But nice try old man.

  24. Sport Says:

Tmax – you have confirmed your status with this thread. Its clear you suffer from a miserable life. You therefore are seeking company, as misery loves to do.

Now that its been clearly identified, go get some help. Seriously, eliminate all depressants and seek counseling immediately. You are a mess.

    In BA I Trust!

  25. ChipBuc Says:

What a depressing view of Tampa you have Tmaxcon. Guess it sucks to be you if you live in Tampa.

  26. Adrnagy Says:

Tackle ? Bucs played him at guard. Seems the patriots sniff something was wrong and they can correct his play. So what ever. Move on.

  27. Sport Says:

If my post makes it out of moderation….

Or Tmax – you are just uneducated. Either scenario fits, Just a different solution. Being on educated is very fixable.

  28. Costa Rica John Says:

Is this how Brady finally ends his career….One missed block by Benenoch and Brady gets hit and injured. You just never know.

  29. unbelievable Says:

Good coaching versus Buc’s coaching…. lol

  30. Mike Johnson Says:

Now sit back and watch Bellcheat and his boyz turn this kid around and have him starting within a yr or so. The Pats always seem to take other teams rejects and turn them into winners. Why is that?

  31. D-Rome Says:

Let’s see, he’s not good enough to play in Tampa but he’s good enough to play for Bill Belichick? The guy the Bucs signed, Josh Wells, was available for the Patriots to sign. Did the Bucs downgrade with that move?

  32. JimmyJack Says:

D-Rome not entirely true. The Patriots just suffered injuries this Sunday so they may not have been looking for a OL at the time we signed Wells.

And for the creep above you are a confirmed weasel and a coward. There are plenty of watch parties and draft parties and tailgates for you to tell us to our face how low standard or trash you think our city if. But you never will. You come off having such a strong opinion but you are too yellow to represent yourself with the internet to protect you. You are exactly what is wrong with this country. You would never make it in the real world with that attitude. You are nothing more then a internet phony & a coward. Have your fun little boy. I been where you are when is was 14 and I’m sure others have too. Difference is we grew up.

  33. BuccaneEric75 Says:

The Patriots make O-Lineman look good. If I was a conspiracy theorist, I would say that Arians made the call for him to be cut, and Licht asked Belichick to sign him as a favor so that he plays well and Licht’s draft pick doesn’t look like a bust. I’m not a conspiracy theorist, though.

  34. Old School Athlete Says:

    @jimmyjack
Nice post and I agree. I’m tired of all this irrelevant small market talk. I’ve lived in 5 major sports markets and can tell tmax or anyone else there are much worse places to live.
Also time to stop complaining about the Glazers not caring. They’ve paid 5 coaches not to coach, gave BA a 4 year deal, let him hire a huge staff, built a practice facility that’s as nice as anything in the League. They care a lot.
As far as the Benenoch signing, I am surprised but not shocked. In football, truth is stranger than fiction.

  35. Cobraboy Says:

    Could end Brady’s career… 😉
