Cairo Santos Gets A Job

Congratulations to the second-best Buccaneers kicker in training camp this summer. (We hope!)
Cairo Santos wasn’t special last year with the Bucs after he stopped the suffering Chandler Catanzaro inflicted upon Tampa Bay fans. So the Bucs proceeded to draft rookie kicker Matt Gay, who won this summer’s kicking competition with Santos.
It sounds like a happy ending. But that could change in Week 8. That’s when the Bucs will head north to take on Santos’ new team. The Tennessee Titans signed him today and placed 10-year-veteran kicker Ryan Succop on injured reserve.
Joe is happy Santos landed on his feet. However, this feels like something the football gods have orchestrated as they always seek — and find — ways to torture the Bucs faithful.

I used to think the kicking game was fairly simple. Then along comes Jason Gump. A wasted second round pick, a kickers carousel, chip shots missed, games lost, Jason Freakin Gump.

T- 4 days left for lames like berto Ndog, trust me he won’t have much to say after Sunday. Also I noticed some of you dimwits took offense to me saying joe “days are numbered” the other day. Well they are, if spinning the negatives is the only way he is capable of going about trying to convey a message about this team to his audience. See, that’s going to prove a lot more difficult starting Sunday. Either he’ll find a new format. Or this whack @$$ site will die. Highly doubt he has the balls to allow this one.

Jason Licht answers to BA at this point. BA wanted Gay and Santos was let go. This is BA’s team and Licht is essentially making perfunctory decisions. BA is the ultimate decision maker when it comes to personnel. I’ve been in the anti Licht camp for 2 years but it’s pointless to complatat this point. If team isn’t successful the blame will be shared.

I don’t recall a more pessimistic doomy “what if” X 1000 type vibe on JBF compared to this offseason. There’s so many “this is how this could go SUPER bad and make us all depressed” type stories lol.
I get it man. This team has been really hard to follow. Must be even harder to report on. I hope they throw you guys and all of us a freaking bone and go win some damn games and look like a good team for once.

Tennessee won’t be trying FGs when they’re down 21 points. Shrimpy Santos can have fun with that. I am glad he found a job. Gay IS the answer and has shown every reason why he is. To assume otherwise is psychiatric in nature.

You are wrong:
Cairo was the better kicker in the Camp (he hit 91% of his kicks and Gay hit just 80%).
The Bucs only signed Gay because he was drafted and is cheaper than Santos.
