“The Legend Of Swamp Ass Is Real”

August 29th, 2019

“Ali, there’s a reason you’re not center any more.”

This is a real story about summer quarterback play at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, and it’s something to think about when folks talk about home field advantage/disadvantage.

Ex-Bucs quarterback Chris Simms broke down the QB play in the Bucs-Browns preseason game. Joe has the video below, but it’s cued up to the spot where Simms talks about how challenging it can be to throw the football during summer games in Tampa.

It’s raw, it’s real, and it’s not suitable for all audiences.

Simms dives into the reality of the humidity and the sweat from the centers deep-buttocks region. “The legend of swamp ass is real,” he explains. And he noted how he had his Bucs centers change their pants at halftime.  Simms is certain this contributed to Baker Mayfield’s horrid night against the Bucs.

There’s plenty more. Simms’ delivery is priceless, and he does get into the play of Jameis Winston and the Bucs’ “right guard problem.”

Chris Simms seem to have finally found his Niche! I think he is going to have a long, successful career as a sports broadcaster.

let’s not forget that linemen sometimes pee right on themselves during the game, rather than go into the locker room to urinate…

    thus causing lock-ness-monster ass…

a level up from the basic standard swampy tush

Uh this isn’t new news to any team that plays in Florida Joe.

  4. RODNEY ALLEN Says:

When i work on my cars during the summer i have to change shirts ever so often during the day cuz it gets so saturated it starts soaking my jeans along with the swamp ass so i can only imagine playing football

  5. Defense Rules Says:

Cue Rod Munch … excuse #47 in the Defense of Jameis. BTW, never saw anyone use this (or any other excuse) in Defense of Trent Dilfer. Or any other Bucs’ QB for that matter. Hint: for $21 mil, learn how to deal with it. No excuses.

Baker just sucks. No reason to explain away an arrogant, self-serving, “leader”. If his last name was Winston he’d be considered a scumbag by our media and half these hater buc fans. This clown has talked more trash than Tom Brady. 🙈🙈🤣🤣🤣🤣. Entitlement is a problem with some young men, like, Baker. I could see him killing someone while driving drunk before winning a playoff game. Some guys here like that though it seems.

    The soggy bottom boys.

  8. Slugglife Says:

And then the QB licks his fingers. Seen it a thousand times.

I think Favre was a serial finger licker.

  9. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

Can’t quite remember who the commentator was, and who the center was……during a game years ago, the camera focused in on the Bucs’ center’s wet pants and the commentator said something like “tropical rain forest”…..

This is as funny as all get out.

Simms does a great job for NBC. I’d like to see him move farther up the ranks. Its refreshing to hear someone on TV who actually knows football AND can communicate well.

A lot of former players on TV know the game, but they are horrible on TV.

This is a very good point. Who among us would be foolish enough to say Joe Montana doesn’t know football? But he was/is turrible on TV.

  13. Bojim Says:

Naw. Baker just got his nose a little close too often.

  14. Rod Munch Says:

Yeah my girlfriend has this problem.
