Another Lavonte David Absence?
August 5th, 2019Practice at One Buc Palace kicked off early this morning and it looks like three absences in a row for Lavonte David, who had been nursing a swollen knee.
David has had well known shoulder and ankle issues through his career, but a knee might be a new thing for him. Bucco Bruce Arians alerted the media Saturday night that David had a knee issue and didn’t like practicing on it inside the Glazer Shed.
Well, the Bucs are outside on grass today.
Joe will update this post after practice.
Been looking for Lavonte David all morning. Still haven’t seen him (doesn’t mean he’s not here, just haven’t seen him) but did see Justin Evans who has yet to practice this summer. David missed last two practices with swelling in a knee. pic.twitter.com/ZHZtRSWIzI

Didn’t a knee injury interrupt his consecutive games played streak? I recall Lovie pulling him against his will. Maybe old age is rearing it’s ugly head.
Who’s my favorite player? Mr. 54

He could be inside getting treatment. As long as he get in for a few drives this preseason he’ll be good for game 1. I just hope they’re not hiding something major or something that nags him all season.

He will probably not play against the Steelers. He has nothing,g to prove in preseason. Make sure he is100% for the season opener.

Even if David does not play at Pittsburg we have a healthy Cece who is a great inside LB who needs more reps with the first string Defense and Minter is an excellent ILB who already knows BA’s scheme and doesn’t need the reps but can step up if Cece gets hurt. Let David get completely well and keep a whirlpool for him to jump in after every game he plays this year. He will be fine.
