Let’s see? My answer would have to be the one who makes the most, longest, and can hit consistently from 60 yards in throughout camp and during the preseason.
Gay had a 3 step approach in college. It will be interesting to see if they need to shorten up that approach. I’m not convinced that lead to any blocks. That usually has to do with trajectory H/D. His start point is about the same as other kickers he just take 3 choppy steps instead of two longs ones.

It better be Matt Gay.
By the way Joe, I’m surprised you haven’t reported on Daisy Mae passing away. Did I miss it or does that not interest Joe?

Of course we all want the best an most reliable kicker just for a change and, as a brazilian fan, my vote goes to Santos
Go Bucs

A great QB is only as good as his Kicker.

Whoever looks better in camp? Of course youd love the draft pick to be the guy because he is cheaper and under contract for longer… and younger.
But i dont care as long as the better player wins.

GO BUCS!!!!

As of today anyone not saying santos is out of their skull

Whoever wins the job

Picking a player to split the uprights consistently from any distance is a wild stab in the dark.

I don’t know.
How can anybody know?

The worst possible choice to kick in the Den of Depression is a young untested kicker who suffers from depression.
He also has a problem with blocked kicks due to his 4-5 step approach.
Santos was not too bad, just lacked range.
Gump is too stubborn to shop for a real kicker on the waiver wire.

Does it really matter? Seriously…..

Which ever is more accurate from long distances.. That will give the Bucs hope for scoring more points each game…. less blow outs!

M. Gay has kicked more FGs in the past 2 years than Santos has kicked in 4. Gay’s leg is proven to be CONSISTENTLY stronger than Cairo’s.
I won’t even go into 50+ yd stats.

Matt Gay…and bring in the other Matt (Bryant) to start until he is fully ready and for the long kicks and kickoffs.
Yes…keep 2 kickers going into the season.
July 22nd, 2019 at 5:16 pm
And there is no way Matt Gay will clear waivers.

Ghost of Darrell Henderson Says:
“Santos was not too bad, just lacked range.”
You clearly do not know Santos. The only reason he didn’t miss more kicks is because he didn’t have a full season to do so. He is horrible.
Matt gay is unproven, but we can give him his shot, and if the coaches feel he needs time, they can bring in Matt Bryant.

martinii Says:
“…can hit consistently from 60 yards…”
LOL. You don’t ask much, do you, lol?
60 yards is the max for most kickers.
