“You Felt Ray Lewis Kind Of Energy”
July 27th, 2019Lots of Bucs fans hear former rock star general manager Mark Dominik’s analysis on radio or TV and immediately think that if Dominik likes a player, then he’s going to be horrible.
Joe sure hopes those fans are wrong.
Dominik was co-hosting on SiriusXM NFL Radio yesterday and couldn’t contain his gushing for Buccaneers savior rookie linebacker Devin White. (a rarity for Dominik).
And it’s not just the film, Dominik, an NFL personnel man for 20+ years, was dazzled by his in-person time with white.
“Having a chance to meet him at the Combine and sit there and talk to him, you know, this is really lofty, but you felt Ray Lewis kind of energy,” Dominik said of White. “You’re like, wooo, this guy’s a different type of feeling. You’re wow, this guy’s intense and it’s about ball and being on top of things. And just, you know. he was intense.”
White, the No. 5 overall pick, and DT Quinnen Williams (No. 3 to the Jets) are the guys Dominik said he’s most excited about to see how the integrate to their teams and impact immediately.

…No $$ and bad team ..WHY is Licht still the bucs gm??..
July 27th, 2019 at 4:23 pm
It’s petty, but I really wish Devin would have chose #52 to continue as a torchbearer for legendary middle linebackers like Ray and Patrick Willis. I get that most of these new generation players want to be trailblazers, but it kinda sucks seeing all these wacky non-traditional numbers being worn all over the league.

Makes sense if he’s met ray Lewis and white. Cant wait to see this team play a real game
July 27th, 2019 at 5:10 pm
Hopefully white works bucs have not had an intelligent leader at the LB since Nickerson left…

Look tweedle dee and tweedle dumber

Man I think White is going to murder it…….just not like Ray Lewis đ

I think about Lewis,Urlacher,Brooks along with a few others that appeared fast manning the middle of the field. Then I think to myself this distinguished young man is a 4.42 freak athlete. The position to my recollection has never seen that type of speed. The potential is limitless.

NOSBOS
Urlacher and brooks were garbage nobody’s carried by d-‘linemen…. brooks is popular but hardly a legend and not intelligent enough to compete with mike Tyson or vince young at jeporady…. 55 won a pathetic 5 career playoff games zero without riding sapps coattails…. no one confusess popular mediocrity with greatness …
July 27th, 2019 at 7:38 pm
NOS Patrick Willis ran a 4.38 at his pro-day I do believe. Granted, Devin is nowhere near as polished as a true linebacker as Pat but he compares almost identically in terms of athleticism. Let’s hope he doesn’t wreck his feet and retire at 29 or 30 like him also.
July 27th, 2019 at 7:45 pm
@tmaxcon How can you type, much less submit, a sentence that contains both Brooks and âgarbage nobodyâ? Youâre nuts… and blind. Just nuts…
July 27th, 2019 at 7:50 pm
tmax i didn’t realize one weakside linebacker on a 53 man roster could single handedly carry a team to multiple superbowl wins… I suppose Dick Butkus was a chump too right, seeing as how he never played one snap in a playoff game in his 9 year career…
Possibly the most brickheaded take i’ve ever seen in my life
July 27th, 2019 at 8:12 pm
Tmax will laud Hardy Nickerson as being the only LB in Buc history worth a spit with his career 8 playoff games and a record of 3-5 with no superbowl hardware or appearances but HOF Derrick Brooks with a DPOY and a superbowl dagger int for a touchdown is a garbage nobody….
you can’t make this stuff up!!!!!!!!!!!
July 27th, 2019 at 8:19 pm
Hey by the way, while i’m totally dismantling your credibility, Hardy totaled 25 career playoff tackles in those 8 games. That’s about 3 tackles per game, big guy. I love Hardy as much as the next guy but dam dude… come back to reality.

Westchap
Brooks was never great just popular just like the failed tenure of the one dimensional clown dungy
July 27th, 2019 at 11:32 pm
Ladies the has beens had one good season the rest were failures…. raise your standards folks setting your goals for just being better than Cleveland is pathetic…. winning in postseason consistently is legendary not getting lucky one year because a generational dt carries a bunch of back ups to the promise land once… and let’s not kid ourselves the has beens sucked in postseason every year so it must have been because their head coach knew all the opponents plays….. sapp unfortunately was surrounded by unintelligent back ups….. but even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then

Hey fanboy…. championships matter not meaningless pro bowls, dpoy and good guy awards…. how many playoff wins did the Tampa’s version of vince young have without sapp carrying him….. LET ME HELP YOU. .. ZERO

PriMech54
you must be a mccoy fan because you always point to meaningless numbers while making excues for the has beens post season failures…. 5 freaking play off wins in a career is pathetic period pal… Go storm…
July 28th, 2019 at 12:40 am
So let me get this straight it was not the fault of 55 (Vince young), dungy the clown, McKay, lynch (best years in denver), barber overrated system specfic bum cb who hung on way to long and might be worst tv guy since ed from mr ed… so based on the nuthuggers of all the one year wonder has beens failures all fall on Dilfer and James who was not born for most of the failures post season games and yes 2 playoff victories in 6 years is embarrassing with a generational player like sapp… Dungy the clowns bucs were mentally weak post season failures and the pathetic 2 play off wins prove that. .

T’Pau-lovin’ Bucs’ ex-GM Mark Dominik clearly needed to give us a little more heart and soul.
