“It Is Awful. It Is Brutal!”
June 18th, 2019You can almost smell “The Rock” saying the following:
“It doesn’t matter.”
It seems Will Brinson wants to see the Bucs succeed. He’s looking for a way to see the Bucs succeed. Against his better judgments he’s trying to find a way for the Bucs to succeed and make a run at the playoffs.
But Brinson, of CBS Sports, just cannot get past the Bucs’ schedule.
Appearing recently on CBS Sports HQ to go over 2019 win projections for the Bucs, Brinson believes the Tampa Bay defense — a lack of a pass rush in the wake of Jason Pierre-Paul’s injury and way too many young defensive backs — will drag the team down, though he is totally geeked about America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, playing for Bucco Bruce Arians.
But Brinson is slapped cold in the face every time he looks at the Bucs’ schedule, which includes no home games in the Den of Depression for nearly two months and a trip to play in London.
“It is awful,” Brinson said. “It is brutal!”
Todd Fuhrman, a gambler of some repute and a numbers guy, isn’t as doom-and-gloom on the Bucs as Brinson. He’s willing to lay cash on the Bucs finishing over 6.5 wins, but not much more than that.
You can watch and listen to the discussion between Brinson and Fuhrman in the CBS Sports video below.

No pass rush, young secondary it will be tough to win more than 6 or 7 games with that schedule. Looks as if the NFL doesn’t want them to succeed. Must be something to do with the owners.
June 18th, 2019 at 9:22 am
The schedule is not as worse as last year, having folding lawn chair suspended and losing over 1/3 of defensive starters over the first few games!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No excuses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hold them accountable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The sheep and local media have said for months and months how ole stale biscuit and his merry band of unemployed coaches are such upgrades!!!!!!!!!!! Let us see it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or they can be fired at the end of the year for a proper “rebuild” !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let the sheep see the “real” problem finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2019 will reveal answers to the sheep, the the “real” fans already know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
June 18th, 2019 at 9:23 am
Our schedule is always difficult. We play in the NFC South
June 18th, 2019 at 9:43 am
So the excuses are going to start already. And who did not know “The schedule is to tough” would not be the first? You either have it or you don’t. Good teams find ways to win.
June 18th, 2019 at 9:45 am
Already have $500 on the over. Easy money
June 18th, 2019 at 9:58 am
The Bucs seem to play better when they are “away” so the schedule probably isn’t a big detriment. More worried about inexperienced backfield, loss of JPP, right side of o-line, kicker, and RB.

Anything type of talk about Anthony Nelson?
National media have no clue he’s on the roster. Local media don’t talk about him much. But how badass would it be if the standing poppa grizzly bear came out swinging on the d-line. His film shows he’s not a chump and that he is worth a fourth round pick. Vea, Suh, and Nelson? That’s some serious power and if Nelson can show up that’d be f-ing sweet.
June 18th, 2019 at 10:50 am
Its all a crock..a Bunch of BS. To be the best you gotta beat the best. On the road, in the snow, in the heat, In the rain..wherever and however. IF…this
yeam cam get to 8-8, it will be an accomplishment. I say 8-8. My wife says
6-10. And she’ always better than me at predictions. Batter up Mr. Arians.
Your sh** talkin days are almost over and…Good Luck.

“Smells like you could use a shower stinky.” lmao
June 18th, 2019 at 12:46 pm
Tell you why it’s brutal.
Because we’re the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Donald Goodell and the rest of the NFL try so hard every year how to find ways to f-us-over.
June 18th, 2019 at 12:48 pm
8-8 or higher. Nothing below 7-9 unless Jameis goes down.
June 18th, 2019 at 1:08 pm
I expect a lot of close squeaker games with the Bucs winning their fair share of them.
June 18th, 2019 at 1:21 pm
If Arians has a winning record in year 1 he should be given an ownership stake in the team
7 wins tops with this qb, this o line defense and a first time offensive coordinator
June 18th, 2019 at 1:34 pm
Looking at schedules and forecasting results is a fools errand.
Look at last year! JW suspended…tough games..two on the road…and we were expected to be 0-3 by virtually EVERYBODY.
2-1 seems a LOT better than 0-3. Hopefully if we get a good start early this year BA will keep the team on track. The schedule is actually easier the second half.
June 18th, 2019 at 1:54 pm
Y’all whine about the schedule every year and more often then not it doesn’t definitely anything about the season. Like last year when we got past the part of the schedule that was the bad part with flying colors. We then proceeded to finish at 3-11.
For those sick of this crybaby nonsense I will share with you why our schedule is very favorable.
-Quick start and a chance to start 2-0. 49ers might be our easiest game followed by a short week to prepare for CAR. The CAR game is a massive favor for a division opponent because they have no film on us and now time to study our style. The is a mega advantage. If I’m Bruce I’m studying Carolina film starting a month ago.
-Great setup for our home stretch. We are backloaded with home games and if we are any good we will take advantage and finish strong. Year after year the final few games of the season are proven to be the most pivitol.
-We play no team coming off a bye. This is a major gift. We also have a late bye which is a great advantage.
June 18th, 2019 at 1:58 pm
As far as the tough part of our schedule it should not be difficult at all to come out of it without any hiccups if we are any good.
One of those games is after a bye vs Tenn. Don’t know Bruce’s record coming ng off a bye but we’ll coached teams usually win those and that’s why I expect.
Win that and win your neutral site game and we’re already at 2 of 5 wins.
Aren’t that hard……For a good team.
GO BUCS!!!
June 18th, 2019 at 3:47 pm
@jimmy joke
finally you said something that makes sense!!!!! Well coached team do well with a bye week, and to and extent, opening day, as teams have extra time to prepare!!!!!!! Head Coach Koetter was 4-1 in that respect!!!!!!!!!!!! (2017) bucs and miami had the bye week as opening day because of the hurricane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2019 will reveal answers to the sheep, that the “real” fans already know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
June 18th, 2019 at 4:00 pm
Take the Jags & Falcons and put some ducats on their super bowl runs
June 18th, 2019 at 4:43 pm
To whom it may concern,
Every so called “expert” in the media claimed the Bucs were gonna fall to 0-3 last year. We shocked the league. I believe we can shock them again.
June 18th, 2019 at 4:49 pm
realist
and with all that extra time, dirk and smitty still couldnt figure out how to be better than 5-11!!!!!!!!!!!!…..lol….
smitty is now trying his luck in Foosball……lol…..
word on the street, his defense still sucks!!!!!!…..lol…
GO BUCS!!!!!!
June 18th, 2019 at 4:52 pm

June 18th, 2019 at 5:08 pm

smitty ran the defense he knew and had experience in lol…..he ran the same type of defense in ATL…..
you werent singing that tune when teams were “choking teams out”…lol….you were very happy with his scheme back then….what happened?….LACK OF COACHING & DEVELOPMENT!!!!!!!!!!
The Buc Realist Says:
September 2nd, 2017 at 7:46 am
@Joe
why the panic???? Is this the same defensive line on the defense that as Warren Sapp described as “choking out teams”????????? is this not the roster with your “beasting Robert Ayers”???? Why were the Bucs top ten in sacks but the QB pressure was lower???? The answer is Coaching and scheme!!!! That is what made the defense work last year!!!!!!
GO BUCS!!!!!
June 18th, 2019 at 5:11 pm
realist
prove it…..
who made smitty run the 43?…..list your source…..or did it come from the same street that said smitty was trash after the 2016 season….
GO BUCS!!!!!
June 18th, 2019 at 6:05 pm
Oh He|| yeah!
I’m all geeked out now.
We might win an extra game and a half than our normal 5.
Yippppeeee!
June 18th, 2019 at 6:22 pm
Personally though, I think we should just start tanking. Sadly this annual journey has morphed into a race to the bottom. But hey, at least we’re always a finalist to win the drafts most coveted #1 pick. There’s that.
I really have only one question during this lull.
“If we finish last in our division, does that mean that JW is the 4th best QB in the division, or the worst QB in the division?” ..bothers me to no end
June 18th, 2019 at 6:44 pm
813bucboi Says:

I don’t think anyone will notice. In fact, I’d bet that Smitty has an innie.
June 18th, 2019 at 7:28 pm
Anybody see any cold weather games on the schedule? Go ahead I’ll wait.
June 18th, 2019 at 8:26 pm
For those of you calling the schedule talk “excuses” – educate yourselves.
The guy in charge of making the schedule says the Bucs were absolutely screwed.
There are stat geeks calling it one of the more difficult traveling stretches of a schedule any team has faced in league history with 6-time zone changes in 7 weeks.
It is an injustice. It is a disadvantage. Every year, the surprise teams are the ones who had the weakest schedule based on miles traveled and opponent winning percentage (look it up before blowing hot air as a retort).
In short: it ain’t the Bucs year to win 11 games, unfortunately.
I would be extremely happy with a 9-7 team on the rise.
June 18th, 2019 at 10:27 pm
used To have season tickets for the family.
We live in north Florida and a schedule like this makes it impossible for us to get season tickets this year.
Just no way.
We need the home games to be spaced out or we just can’t do it.
Total bummer.
