Winning At Home
May 31st, 2019Yeah, there are several things the Bucs must do to somehow flip this floundering franchise.
Maybe hiring Bucco Bruce Arians helps? Maybe America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, puts this team on his back (hard to do when the defense weekly throws up on his back)? Maybe Todd Bowles is Houdini and gets rookies and a bunch of green youngsters who have yet to prove anything to play like Pro Bowlers?
Joe can point to a very easy, simple and glaring item the Bucs can correct to deliver the powers that be at One Buc Palace a lasting contender.
Start winning home games for crying out loud!
In the post-Chucky era known as the Lost Decade, no NFC team has a worse record at home than the Bucs — and it is not even close. The Bucs, since the 2009 season, are 29-51, which is appalling if not embarrassing.
And ya’ can’t blame that on an oil slick. On that note, the Bucs shouldn’t have their hands out asking for charity, they should have been mailing rebate checks to season ticket holders.
This year, if the Bucs don’t change things up, they likely will have the worst NFL home record in the post-Chucky era. Only the Browns have a worse home record since 2009 at the Factory of Sadness . Barely. Cleveland is 28-50-1 at home since 2009.
Cleveland is thought by many to be a contender for the AFC North crown this fall. The Bucs? There is a reason the Bucs are moored in Buccaneers Cove (last place in the NFC South).
If the suits at One Buc Palace want the Bucs to take over this town remotely close to how it was in the glory years, start winning some homes games, huh?
Is that too much to ask?

‘several things the Bucs must do to somehow flip this floundering franchise.’
Jake Fromm; one of the top RB; bolster the o-line; and 1 or 2 punishing pass rusher

Just win. I don’t care if its in Tampa or a home game in London.
To start off with, I’ll take a strong identity to hang my hat on. The best offense between the 20’s or the almost worst defense (In history) is not working for me.
Lets be a team no one wants to play and kick their ass.
In BA I Trust!
P.S. Bird, good one. I have to say, its definitely been better post draft, table slamming, Zach intern hiring though. 😉

A mooring suggest that the place in buccaneers cove has been visited before and is a well known place where anyone can go. This cove they are currently in, however, is untouched and a vessel can only secure safe haven with a very large anchor.

@Joe … “If the suits at One Buc Palace want the Bucs to take over this town remotely close to how it was in the glory years, start winning some homes games, huh?”
Quick question back Joe … Exactly how are they supposed to do that in MAY?
Bucs have 2 home games in Sept against the 49ers & Giants. BOTH games look to be winnable at this point, BUT … it’s ONLY May & this team has a LOT of growing up to do in the next 3 months to be competitive with anybody. Thankfully we’ve got a very experienced coaching staff to help that process along.
The NEXT home game isn’t until Nov 10th, against the Cardinals. Another potentially winnable home game, especially since by then (more than halfway through the season) the Bucs offense AND defense should have both matured considerably. We also take on the Saints at RayJay in November … could be a tough one.
Then THREE more home games in December … Colts, Texans & Falcons, with an away games to Detroit squeezed in there. All 4 of those games could be very tough, but by then we’ll know what we’ve got. IF we hit December at 6-6 and we finish with a flourish, we’d have a chance at the playoffs (10-6 or maybe even 9-7). Even 8-8 would be a dramatic improvement over the last 2 years.
Win 4 out of 7 home games and we have a winning home record. And 4 of those 7 games are against teams who each had losing records in 2018 … with a combined 19-45 record. Chin up Joe, anything’s possible … in May.

Must be an old photo.
The place is packed with depressed fans!

I remember going to the Steelers game last year at RayJayJay. Based on the number of black and gold jerseys in the stand, I’d say the home team DID win.
Does that count?
Fans need to get out and support our Bucs at home.

“Bucs shouldn’t have their hands out asking for charity, they should have been mailing rebate checks to season ticket holders.”
Statement of the year!
Bird- The Glazers and this organization should be called to the carpet any chance we get. I have no problem with Joe blasting this inept ownership. It seems like they have been in a downward spiral ever since their father passed away.

We will know better what we have got when the pads go on in July. Right now in touch football we appear to have plenty of speed and athleticism and capable coaching, but the proof is in pads. Time will tell.

We have all heard about the benefits of fighting for positions and we have more competition now on defense than in recent memory. That should make all our defensive players a lot better. We could use some better backups at DT and BA may deal with that when other teams cut down. We’ll see. Suh has replaced the loss of GMC!

Maybe new uniforms with normal numbers would help bring ppl to buy the merchandise to enjoy wearing it to games to cheer. Maybe the uniforms are part of the problem too…

It wasn’t to long ago the Bucs were media darlings touted to turn things around. Turned out to be more of a curse than a blessing. I’m glad all the attention is on Cleveland this year.

I think I might start attending games wearing a BP shirt

Was this photo doctored? The only full house the Bucs has witnessed is thru a card game. Nope its not the uniforms. Its the players. Arians and Bowles will not be hittin the trenches. I’m just anxious to see the hype follow up. Yes, these new changes have a good feel. But we’ve had this feeling before. Remember when Koetter took over? I won’t call many of you out. But he and his staff were billed as the, Second Coming. And we all know how that worked out.

Hey Defense Rules, give me a drag off that spiff before you throw it away. Your delusional post indicates you are a serious user when you post
Example: “IF we hit December at 6-6 and we finish with a flourish, we’d have a chance at the playoffs (10-6 or maybe even 9-7).”
Seriously, one has to walk before they run. This team/franchise needs to have a non-embarrassing season before talks of playoffs are justified. Haven’t seen many of those lately. BA arriving on a jet-plane and a bunch of DB rookies aren’t enough to justify your post.
