Loud and clear.

It seems either the Bucs are trying to run off Vernon Hargreaves or are lighting a fire under his tail.

Hargreaves was the 11th overall pick in the 2016 draft and he showed promise his rookie year. It’s been downhill after that. Hargreaves has only played in 10 games in the past two seasons due to injuries and noted defensive mastermind Mike Smith determined Hargreaves was no more than a nickel corner two years ago.

(Smith had an interesting knee-jerk answer to his defense getting skinned each week; blame a defensive back and force him to change positions.)

There may be some merit in Smith’s critique of Hargreaves and we will soon find out. In the past two years, the Bucs have drafted four cornerbacks in the first three rounds. That doesn’t sound like a team happy with any of its corners.

Now the 2019 draft occurred just days after the Bucs exercised the fifth-year option on Hargreaves’ rookie contract. Of course, that is not guaranteed. The Bucs can still cut Hargreaves after this season without penalty before the start of the new league year in March.

Joe believes a clear message was sent to Hargreaves using the good cop/bad cop method. ‘We will have your back if you play well this fall but if you don’t — see ya!’

And it appears Hargreaves has gotten the message. On his Instagram account Sunday, Hargreaves had an interesting yet simple post in the wake of the Bucs having a heavy secondary draft this past weekend.

NEVER PANIC

This will be his reamaining chance to stay healthy and prove he was worth the option year. It will also show whether guys like Carlton Davis, MJ Stewart (already moved to S we here, but still shows as a CB) were bad picks…less on Smith (which doesn’t matter anymore) and more on Licht. I do note none of the 13 UDFAs signed are CBs, though one is a S. Maybe Joe will provide more insight on all these guys today.

  3. Big Stinky Says:

This article just helps to prove what a joke this franchise has become from the owners down to us fans. Why are we still rebuilding after Jason Licht has been here for 6 years? Arians is our 3rd HC since he got here. Fans blame how bad we have been on coaching so we change coaches every couple of years. Truth is, JL is a bad GM. How can we have SO many positions that still have to be upgraded after 6 drafts? It’s because Jason and our scouts don’t know how to evaluate talent. It seems like year after year we draft players that are just not that good to begin with. So far, Mike Evans and OJ Howard seem to be the only elite players Jason has gotten us in 6 drafts. I think Godwin is good as well but we will get to see just how good he is this year when he becomes the #2 WR. I have been reading some of the recent articles and comments from fans and how they think coaching is the reason we still suck. They think that things are going to change now that Bucco Bruce is here and they probably will on defense. But, they are also going to change on offense as well. I don’t expect to score as many points as we did last year so we have to get better on defense. These owners are a joke. Koetter set offensive records in 2 of the 4 years he was here so what do you do? Fire him! That makes no sense at all. All we needed was a new DC and staff, and probably a new GM as well, people who could evaluate talent. Drew Lock falls to us in the 2nd round and we take a CB that would have probably been there in the 3rd round. Again, makes no sense to me. JW3 is not worth $30+ million a year no matter what you guys think. He makes too many mistakes and can’t see a guy that is wide open. He decides ahead of time that he is going to throw to Mike Evans and he throws it to him NO MATTER WHAT. It doesn’t matter if he is in double coverage, JW is still going to throw it to him. We wasted like $11 million per year for DJax to run downfield so Mike Evans wouldn’t get double teamed all the time. But JW is not that good at throwing the deep ball so teams knew that really wasn’t a threat. Watch what happens this year with a new OC that isn’t as good as DK at calling plays. JW will probably regress and the Bucs will still sign him to a new contract because we didn’t get Drew Lock. If you think we are hurting for salary cap space now wait until next year. The window for making a run in the Playoffs is closing fast for this team and we STILL need depth at a lot of key positions because of Licht. Our OL can’t run block so we can’t tell how good Barber or ROJO can be. The secondary is young so I still don’t expect them to be much better than last year. We don’t have depth at LB. I hope these guys we got on the DL in the draft at least give us depth at that position. Blitzing more should at least help get pressure on opposing QB’s which should help. I just don’t expect the new staff to miraculously make us a Playoff team since we still need more talent. I just wish we had gotten a better DC while Koetter was here but even that probably wouldn’t have helped since Licht was unable to get much talent on that side of the ball. How much longer are we going to give him to build us a winning team? Hopefully, not much longer.

  4. Buccaneerscotty Says:

I like some of our undrafted players. Some of them had grades to get drafted would be nice to read about it here . Jason is better with this than the draft….

  5. Loyaltotheend Section 312 Says:

What an awful GM, what an awful draft and offseason.

I hope this team proves me wrong but I have a feeling this will be a train wreck in 2019

  6. FairMinded Says:

He’s entering his 4th year so really not sure why Licht exercised the 5th year option now. Could have done so at the end of this year

  7. Wright Says:

Actually fair-minded, the NFL has an early May deadline the season before to declare the 5th year option.

  8. Defense Rules Says:

Seriously Joe? VHIII would have to light the world on fire this season to be retained at $9 mil next year. Our salary Cap situation won’t be much (if any) better next year with potential new contracts for Jameis, Barber & a number of 1-year ‘try-before-buy’ FAs coming due.

Based on who we drafted (speedy CBs?) looks to me like VHIII just got relegated to nickel this year, IF he can stay healthy. And you know what they say … ‘Two nickels are a dime a dozen’.

I keep hearing about how bad our draft was , well every other year it’s ohs and ahs about some players and we chit the bed… hopefully with no ohs and ahs this year it’s a good thing…white and Edwards can tackle and they are fast as all get out…plus let’s see what Dean and others can do , if we have to build a better back end I’m all for it but I always feel you work your way from front to back..but in today’s NFL I guess it’s a passing leauge and I watch good lines get burned by QB’s all the time so let’s try the other way..esp. since we needed help back there more than any other positions…they better fly to the ball , weather it’s in the air or in someone’s hands ! That’s all I can hope for

  15. AlabamaBucsFan Says:

I don’t think any CB could have done well in Mike Smith’s defensive scheme. No doubt, this is a make or break season for many of the Bucs DBs.

  16. Alanbucsfan Says:

This draft wasn’t an indictment of Hargreaves.
Bowles scheme will involve alot of blitzing secondary which requires speed and corners that can cover one on one. The Bucs didn’t have the personnel to make this work effectively before the draft. They drafted speed, cover guys and ball hawkers – hopefully they drafted the right guys to make this work.

  17. isrBuc Says:

When your GM is in a position where he got nothing to lose and the mantra is “win now”, the hole is just getting deeper.
GM cannot be short sighted but in this case he knows he’s either winning or going home. This is a big problem. Whatever happens record-wise this season, next season will be even worse in cap space and glaring holes. If we’ll pay JW we will have no DL whatsoever. are we really going to “win now”? does anyone buy it?

  18. Buc'n Enough Says:

    Bi Stinky ; ISR BUc,

I agree with you 100%! Even worse, they are wasted the careers of Mike Evans and Lavante David and a few others as they have wasted the talent of Gerald McCoy. No matter what you think of McCoy, he is a talent ( drafted 3rd overall ) that they have failed to build on over the years. How can the Glazer Stooges allow JL to continue next year if the Buc’s bring home another Buccaneer Cove last place trophy? Next year will be a bigger cap hell than this year and JL has proven he can not draft or manage a cap or evaluate talent.

  19. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Imagine if Jason Gump had drafted Laremy Tunsil , the best player in the draft instead of VH3, but there is a roster of the current bucs team that should not have been drafted but the franchise destroyer jason licht has done it. Licht reminds me of bran from GOT, like what is his purpose

  20. tmaxcon Says:

Another year where bucs are happy collecting udfa and other teams garbage to ensure that glazer clowns achieve their goal of yet another basement title for the UNDISPUTED MOST EMBARRASSING SPORTS FRANCHISE ON PLANET EARTH….. The only positive for low standard bucfan is you can still celebrate underachieving has beens with one good year as legends

There is not one single aspect of this small market minor league franchise that has hope….

  21. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I think we will go with 5 CBs & 5 Safeties this year because some of the players are versatile.

CB…..VH3, Davis, Bunting, Dean & Ryan Smith

    S…..Stewart, Evans, Whitehead, Edwards, Brice

With the 2 CBs we will draft next year, VH3 doesn’t have much of a chance.

  22. tmaxcon Says:

Nobody builds a basement titile contender like the glazers… the results can not be disputed nor can you rewrite history because you’re too mentally weak to handle reality….

  23. louden Says:

    @BigStinky

    PREACH MY BROTHER, KEEP PREACHING

    @Bucsfans:

Just read what BigStinky wrote above, he is exactly on point EXACTLY

That is why i refer as to this “professional” team as the lousy Suckaneers.

They absolutely have to hire an intelligent Football Mind, who is able to evaluate talent and is able to build an actual competetive Football Team.

ever cussing and giving great analysys, Steve White Ex-Defensive End of the Buccaneers and writer for SB Nation, comes to mind…. in terms of scouting.

  24. Hodad Says:

Actually VH will probably get his 9 million since Licht, and the Glazers rate success by signing players to second contracts, rather then winning. Marpet, Smith, David got paid with all the losing. Winston’s option picked up, McCoy hanging around, Dotson, garbage Grimes last year. All get rewarded no matter the record. Spence, Bond still around getting paid, what a joke Licht has been. Now this draft. A monkey throwing darts at a board could’ve done better.

  25. tmaxcon Says:

    Tbbf

Ler me help you fix that type o you made

I think we will go with 5 CBs & 5 Safeties this year because ALL the players are fragile and suck arse

  26. AceOfAerospace Says:

I’m glad there’s so many experts here to tell me how stupid the professionals are. I hate mayonnaise and I don’t understand why it has to go in crab cakes, but man I love crab cakes. Maybe, just maybe these picks are part of the recipe to make the finished product. If these picks make an awesome crab cake, I’m happy, but I gotta wait until they’re done. Hopefully they’re done sooner rather than later, because I’m hungry, but I’m gonna trust the chef until then. I have no choice, but I do have hope. Go Bucs.

  27. volbuc1 Says:

Totally agree with Big stinky as well. Well done!

  28. tmaxcon Says:

    AceOfAerospace

The on field results have proven that a mentally handicapped third grader can run a franchise better the the so called failed experts you are attempting to defend…. sports is a results only business and the results prove this franchise is beyond help and hope…. bucs could not compete in the XFL, CFL or Pop Warner league with glazers calling the shots….. one good year and that expired super bowl trophy just proves that the sun shines on every dogs ass occasionally not that there is hope in Tampa

  29. AlteredEgo Says: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

Trent Dilfer or Chris Simms for next GM….the salary cap bean counting can be handled by a specialist ….talent evaluation combined with Lichts “look at me..look at me ” picks has been a disaster and the good players he drafted will be in the 2nd half of their careers when the next GM rolls into town….this franchise has not made ANY real progress under Licht

  30. OneBuc55 Says:

The message is plain and simple…

    “Step up or step aside”…

Licht did a great job of getting BA and Bowles everything they asked for in this draft…

Go Bucs, as always it’s us against the world

  31. Alanbucsfan Says:

Alot of you sound like people that are deep in debt and figure they’ll never get out of it and resign themselves to die broke.
If you don’t change what you are doing, then results will not change.

Bucs changed coaching staff because Koetter and company were failures. Now they are matching personnel to fit coaching schemes. Arians has successful track record. Bowles record is mixed- depends alot on personnel- which is probably why they drafted secondary heavily.
Defense will be heavy on blitzing from all different directions

  32. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    CB – Kyle Fuller NFL Draft: 2014 / Round: 1 / Pick: 14 (Chicago)

Apr 29, 2017 – The Chicago Bears will decline their fifth-year option on cornerback Kyle Fuller for the 2018 season.

    Vs.

    CB – Vernon Hargreaves NFL Draft: 2016 / Round: 1 / Pick: 11 (Tampa)

Apr 29, 2019 – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today the team has exercised the fifth-year contract option on cornerback Vernon Hargreaves

Hmm, I wonder which one is more effective

  33. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    *Apr 25, 2019

  34. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Kyle Fuller did not play in a single game in 2016, so the Bears made the predictable and correct decision to decline the fifth-year option in his contract. Then, Fuller rebounded to play better than ever before in 2017, paving the way for him to get paid.

  35. JustaBucfan Says:

It doesn’t matter. Sometimes I truly believe some high drafted players play mediocre to get out of Tampa on purpose only to land on another team and play better. Think about it. What’s the best way to get off a bad football team? There are no repercussions for it. These players know they will be picked up by another team. Heck, even today players can decide they want off a team and demand a trade or they just don’t show up. There is no punishment for insubordination. The employees and agents are running the show while ownership and coaches are complicit.

  36. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Altered Ego…right on with you with chris simms and he loves the bucs and would be 100% all in with it and studies the game

  37. Defense Rules Says:

@BigStinky … “Koetter set offensive records in 2 of the 4 years he was here so what do you do? Fire him! That makes no sense at all”. Uh, what didn’t make sense was that we hired him in the first place Stinky. Do you really believe that Koetter would’ve been hired as HC if it were not for his ongoing relationship with Jameis? Glazers & Licht panicked when they realized that retaining Lovie wouldn’t get them anyplace. But then dual-hatting Koetter, a brand-new HC (as HC AND OC) was the kiss of death. And no one could ever convince me that the Glazers & Licht didn’t know who Koetter would bring along as his DC (personally think that Smitty was hired as much as a HC mentor to Koetter as he was a DC).

And as far as “The window for making a run in the Playoffs is closing fast for this team” I can’t buy into that, simply because the window was never open. Bucs have had lousy teams since 2009 for a good reason: they’re a poorly-constructed team. Meh GMs. Meh coaches. Meh players (with a few quality players thrown in for diversion). We OWN the NFC South cellar for a reason. There are no windows in that cellar.

  38. Defense Rules Says:

@OneBuc55 … “Licht did a great job of getting BA and Bowles everything they asked for in this draft”. Now THAT’s humorous. Licht did EXACTLY what he was told. This was Bowles draft more than anyone else’s.

  39. BucsFanSince1976 Says:

Mike Webster HOF , Zach Thomas 7 Pro bowls , Rodney Harrison back to back Super Bowl Wins , Hardy Nickerson , Kam Chancellor , Richard Sherman , Kevin Greene HOF , Dick LeBeau HOF , Larry Centers , Tyreek Hill , Jordan Howard and I could go on and on. These Players have 1 thing in common , they were all 5th Round Draft picks. The Bucs lost one of the best slot WR’s when Hump left , and had a clone of Hump in Hunter Renfro available to them and they pass for a FREAKING KICKER after one of the most EPIC FAILS in the 2nd Round in history 3 years ago picking a FREAKING KICKER.
There is no statistical correlation between having a great kicker and winning games , absolutely none. Why? Because success in the league is driven by how many FREAKING TD’s YOU FREAKING SCORE , and last time I checked , THE DAMN KICKER DOES NOT SCORE TD’s.
So many players were still on the board that could have really helped this team fill holes that are GAPING in this roster that the GAY PICK defies all logic and reason . Vegas has the OVER / UNDER on your BUCCOS at 6-6.5 and that sounds about right , especially with a 7 week ROADIE on the schedule. See , even the league wants this franchise to stink. JASON LICHT IS THE WORST GM IN THE NFL……………………….PERIOD.

  40. OneBuc55 Says:

    @ Defense…

It’s the truth…no since in whining about it…I love my Bucs, but I hate this whinny a** fan base…

  41. Doctor Stroud Says:

Why couldn’t the Bucs apply the same philosophy (“run off” or light a fire) at the QB position, the most important position in football?

  42. Bob in Valrico Says:

Agree with Big Stinky on a lot of his points. The one problem we have is that won’t go away if We sign Jameis to a huge contract, will be salary cap hell will not go away. You only have to look at Green Bay who were 13-18-1 in the last two years. Clear case of putting one big egg in the basket and having to throw out some other good eggs to make room.

  43. Petra...Sec147 Says:

I am disappointed, I certainly thought the Bucs would spend at least one of their first 3 pick addressing Dline but I guess it’s like coach says you draft for need you get fired ?

  44. 813bucboi Says:

if you want to make the secondary better, draft dline…especially when its one of the deepest drafts for dlinemen in recent history…..

    GO BUCS!!!!

  45. Destinjohnny Says:

I don’t think anyone we drafted is going to beat Vernon out sadly enough

  46. Miguel Grande Says:

I think the Glazers should consider offering Chris Simms the GM job and send Gump packing.

The NFL is about to redo the way they consider the salary cap and will allow teams to shelter one franchise player’s contract from the cap.

  47. Bobby M. Says:

Hargreaves believes in himself….but that’s the flaw of all these guys. They are 1000% convinced that if the team they’re on doesn’t want them, another team will….especially for a guy drafted in the 1st rd. To some degree he’s right….until he’s wrong and then its over and they never saw it coming.

  48. Big Stinky Says:

    @Defense Rules

Come on Brother! You act like Koetter was the worst HC in Buccaneer history. Did he make some mistakes? Sure he did! He also set records twice for a team that has been around for 40 years, FORTY! As far as Smitty goes, the defense was good enough in 2016 to get us to the Playoffs in Dirk’s first year as HC. We were only one game away from making the Playoffs that year and Jameis played like chit at the beginning of the year. He threw SO many interceptions in the first few games we lost at LEAST one or two of them just because of him. Dirk was the BEST OC the Bucs have had since Les Steckel in 2000 and we fired him because the defense couldn’t hold a lead. That is the DUMBEST chit I have EVER heard of. All we needed to do was hire the DC we just hired and bring in his own staff. Licht is the main reason Smitty took the blame for how bad our defense was the last 2 years. Like I said, his defense was good enough the first year to make the Playoffs. What happened you say? Licht went on a “Weapons for Winston” mission and neglected the defense. The players he got on defense were mediocre at best, just like MOST of the players he has drafted since he got here. And YES, there was a window for us to make the Playoffs if we had kept Koetter and got Bowles to bring in a new defense and some better players on defense that don’t just quit when Winston starts throwing INT’s. I will admit that the window may have closed with Leftwich as our OC, but I guess we will see. These skilled players on offense aren’t going to be together much longer since you can’t pay everyone. We already lost DJax and Hump this year and will probably lose Godwin too when his rookie contract is up. We lost seven games last year by 7 points or less and a better defense would have probably gotten us to the Playoffs. Dirk was NOT the problem no matter what you think, defense was. And Licht not knowing how to build a roster doesn’t help matters. Drew Lock fell to us in the 2nd round and we passed on him. I bet he turns out as good as JW and would have cost us a lot less over the next 4 years. We could still probably have gotten Bunting in the 3rd round since we STILL need CB’s after Licht has drafted four of them in the last 3 years with not much success. How can we STILL be rebuilding after 6 drafts with Licht as GM? This guy has NO clue what he is doing and it shows.

  49. Erik Hesson - Fine Artist - City of St Pete (formerly known as 'The Kwon Alexander of Bucs Fans) Says:

    VH3 is now a back-up or slot guy only…

Our CB Depth Chart will be as follows, IMO:

Left corners: Carlton Davis w/ Jamel Dean as back-up (or vice versa)

Right Corners: Sean Bunting/ Devante Harris as back-up (dude can ball) or Ryan Smith as back-up

VH3 will be competing for playing time in the slot against our other athletic Safeties like Justin Evans, Jordan Whitehead, & Mike Edwards

*We’ll see how it plays out obviously, but I think VH3 will struggle to see any playing time with all of those (possibly) better options…

  50. Defense Rules Says:

Big Stinky … For the most part I agree with you that Koetter was the best OC since Steckel. Problem is that he wasn’t JUST the OC; he was ALSO the HC. You can’t pick & choose … he was BOTH. He wasn’t fired because of how he performed as our OC. He was fired because of how he performed as our HC. Well, unless you consider back-to-back 5-11 performances the mark of a winning resume.

And no way IMO that Todd Bowles would’ve come here without Bruce Arians being HC. From what I’ve read elsewhere, he was offered other DC positions … BETTER DC positions. I still feel that he’s our ‘HC-in-waiting’ and THAT’S why he came here. Contingent upon one thing: FIX THE DEFENSE. It’s pretty obvious (to me at least) after this draft who made those selections. The guys drafted are all tall speed-burners & good cover guys. Sounds to me like that they gave Todd Bowles EXACTLY what he wanted. Still convinced the 5 defensive guys were hand-picked … by Todd Bowles … to create his hybrid defense. And yes, they did it AT THE EXPENSE OF THE OFFENSE (NO RG & NO RB). Pretty much the reverse of what transpired under Lovie BTW.

  51. wideleftandright Says:

Whoever evaluated him as a number one pick needs to have their butts punted far away from scouting.
The guy is slow as mud.

  52. AlteredEgo Says: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

Forget about where VH3 was picked….can he be a starter and contributor in 2019 is all that matters…he was a very good CB in college…fingers crossed the defensive backfield will gel as a unit this season under new coaching…
“there ain’t no hope in football”

  53. Tony LA Says:

    I love the sheep commenters.

If Joe had written that the Bucs had done a terrific job adding talent to the defensive side of the ball everyone would be chirping positivity and “Go Bucs!!”

It was a non-flashy draft that gave us a probable Pro Bowler captain of the defense, tremendous depth and competition at all DB positions, and two solid depth/rotation guys along the D-line. Add in a kicker who has extreme long range in the vein of Greg Zeurlein and you have an improvement in numerous areas.

Add in solid defensive coaching and a proven system that should make several already rostered players better…

Add in a coach who has a history of working and developing great QBs…

I’m stunned by all the negativity and realize it’s just the mindset of this particular sub-section of Buc fans.

    Go Bucs!!

  54. louden Says:

    @TonyLA

    bla bla bla..

6 years or so of Licht mismanaging the Suckaneers led to a Roster full of holes and with questionable talent (every intelligent football guy will tell you, the Roster is rotten) plus Cap Hell…

you talk about cometition @ the CB/safety spots?!

well guess what, they were rotten last year, and now there come some players in to compete with the rotten ones?!

tells me: if the new ones are good players, there wouldn’t be much cometition because the new ones should be better than the rotten ones..

but, the Suckaneers decided to pass on starting-caliber-players, on positions of Need, while drafting undervalue players …

instead: the, resign rotten LT Donovan Smith to a big contract…

    typical Suckaneers..

fans that want an actual competetive Football team should decide to boykott this Suckaneers until they decide to get an intelligent Football Mind that is able to evaluate talent and building an team..

this is a soryy @ss of an “professional” team..

  55. louden Says:

i will repeat it here untill the 2019/20 season will be over:

the Suckaneers Roster build through all the years by sucking-@-his-Job GM Licht
is the main reason the Buccaneers won’t change their Suckaneers ways.

realy all the years since Gruden: every single GM simply sucked (for me the man responsible for the Roster, with comunications to the HC)..

BucsFans that want an competetive team should boykott this Glazer-Clowns-“Professional”-team, and demand an intelligent Football Mind who knows how to evaluate talent, and that is able to actualy build a team..

  56. louden Says:

    O-line: rotten
    >> will lead to bad rushing game (especially short yardage)
    >> will lead to Jameis being i much more pressure
    >> will hurt the Passing Game
    —————–

    WR/TE
only realy good ones that are not so easy to replace:

    Godwin, OJ Howard, Mike Evans

    rest is (easy) replaceable
only one injury away from being less than average = WR/TE corps..

    no good deph..

so Offense isn’t in very good shape (=SuperBowl Contender Talent)

don’t get me started with the Defense..

just let me tell you, that besides the QB – the two Lines define a teams backbone..

the O line is rotten (Dotson is lacking and old, even if some dump people are still talking him up, as if he is an good RT – don’t give me sh.. it about some gradings by some sites – he’s simply just not good – lacks strengh, get overmauled way too often in run an pass game..)

RG: is it possible to get worse?
    Marpet: i’m good with him
    Center: meeeh,
    LG: pfffff
LT D.Smith = Dotson , maybe average, easy replaceable, could have had drafted many many better players instead of Smith back in the time..

but Suckaneers suck @ drafting.. and @ evaluating talent..

so they even decided to throw alot of money @ Donovan Smith
and thats one of the reasonswhy Buccaneers are in Cap Hell, even though they got sh.. itty Talented Roster..

MLB’s have lower value, which means you can get easily an capable MLB per Draft or FreeAgency, while pass rushers come at a premium cost (Fa, or generall high draft pick)

this year – many grat D-liner were available (Clemson guys, and the DT Suckaneers weren’t drafting, will be one heck of a player barring injurys..)

and a good DT makes whole defense better (against the run and pass), thats why they havemore value then MLB’s and this guy was a freaking sure shot of top talent, while our new MLB may have great Potential, and looks to be a giod player, the DT had more value >>> better prospect (pretty much best player available) and we only have/had VitaVea and McCoy as good DT’s..

as all teams tend rotate a lot, you can be very happy to have 3 very good ones.. especially since injurys happen all the time and MCoy is nearing the End of his career…

why is it that i can see it, but the guy getting lots of money to do it for are living is too stupid to realize all that?!

year after year i complain about things like:

getting rid of good players (Michael Bennett as Steve White always said he should have played more)
Matt Bryant (one of the best Kickers in the NFL)

and now some fans even want to cut McCoy
(when he should easily still be worth at least a 2nd round pick)
he is old but good – maybe not very good, thats debatetable, but he is way better than anything the Bucs have at DT besides VitaVea.. but Vea is adifferent type of player/DT..

and they spend too much money on too weak players like Dotson, Donovan Smith, Jensen

    and in terms of drafting:

very often, there is still good talents 8n the board, but the Suckaneers just seem to like lesser talent..

year after year i say: draft this one if available, and the Suckaneers even get the oppertunity, but they decide to get another future Suckaneer and the player i wanted goeson to have good career…

realy year after year the same BS..

    @ Big Stinky
We could also add that the Glazers need to go. The Bucs will never have a winning franchise with owners that are more concerned about money than winning. How coddled were they as kids to show up to owners meetings and not feel embarrassed and sheepish? To feel the ridicule in the room and not want to prove everyone wrong?

The Donald would be a better owner. At least he has pride.

I had to choke back a laugh when I read, “The window for making a run in the Playoffs is closing fast for this team”.

This team will make the playoffs (maybe) if there is a horrible plane crash between two of our Division rivals. The playoffs are not even on the Horizon.

And, for those Buc fans who can’t stand/understand all the negative talk, try and watch this star-crossed franchise since 1978 (for me). We are the Cleveland Browns of the last 10 years. Watch the Browns hand our azz to us this year.
