“He Was Unbelievable”

April 23rd, 2019

America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, is putting real football smiles on his new head coach, renowned quarterback guru and two-time NFL Coach of the Year Bruce Arians.

Spring practices with real football activities kicked off today at One Buc Palace, real OTA sessions. Arians was asked after practice about Jameis and he didn’t hold back his excitement.

“Knock on wood, yeah. He was unbelievable,” Arians said of Jameis. “It’s like I said, some of the reads he was making. That last throw getting back, that was the fifth read in that play and he was on it so fast. And he could tell me why. It’s one thing to throw a completion but tell my why you did it. It’s nice. It’s really nice.”

It’s one April practice. But it feels awfully good.

Is this underwear football?? or are they in pads going full speed. Also didn’t Koetter always say stuff like this as well?? These coaches all lie quit buying into Joe

  2. ncbucsfan Says:

Let’s go Jaboo!!!!!! Get them boys right Bruce!!

  3. ncbucsfan Says:

I don’t care what y’all self-team-hating idiots on JBF talkin bout…..I’m excited as hell about this team. Bruce knows Jameis got the tools and has been misused under Koetter!

  4. ncbucsfan Says:

Quit being followers and posting pessimistic BS about how below-average this team will ne in 2019 and flood the comment section with optimism and hope!! Damn, I hate looking at ya’ll freekin sheep post all the time about how we ain’t gon be sh*t!! Why post at all? Moderate that nonsense everytime Joe, lol!!

  5. Figures Says:

6-10. All the optimism in the universe isn’t gonna fix this terrible defense which is changing schemes on top of it.

So be all excited as you want all the way to last place again.

Bet my house on it. Although most of you couldn’t do that because you live with your mothers.

  6. pick6 Says:

bruce is pumping up egos all offseason to get excited for august, but i have a feeling he will use training camp as a time to humble some guys and focus them on improving their weak points.

as a wise man (i hope) once said to his team, “we aint s**t yet”

  7. Lubby Smith Says:

Of course he looked great, he was playing against the Bucs d.

  8. Don_RyJo Says:

More and more, I become convinced that NFL players (ESPECIALLY QBs and kickers) are delicate little flowers bundled in layers of neurosis. I read these comments a lot and see a lot of people making the argument that Arians is blowing smoke up our asses and providing inflated assessments of the players. Fine by me! Let him. The delicate little flowers need their egos fluffed in order to have the confidence to succeed? Then goddamn fluff those egos! F~ck it, get Tony Robbins on the payroll! Whatever it takes. Just gimmie some January football in Tampa Bay!

  9. DB55 Says:

Imo what was unbelievable was JW’s pc. For the first time that I can recall he seemed relaxed and genuine. You guys love smiley faces well there you go JW’s smile dare I say is better than Mr. McCoy’s. And JW is high energy with a nothing-can-stop-us attitude. I love it!

  10. Billy_43 Says:

    5th read.
    Maybe if he skipped 2-4.

    I’m a Jamie’s supporter. Always have been.
Blowing smoke is exactly what that is.

    Regardless I like hearing it.

  11. pick6 Says:

@lubby, a funny but important point! this offense has shone brightly in every offseason since Josh McCown looked like an unstoppable cyborg vs Lovie’s Smith’s defense in 2014 minicamps. Every year we’ve gone on to watch the defense give any QB who dropped back a Drew Brees-like completion percentage.

i believe bowles can and will be different, but after believing something similar about mike smith and even lovie smith before seeing the opposite, i would be foolish to assume it before i see it

  12. Pittsshore Says:

Yeah but dumb people crumble when the real heat is on, as in during a real game. That is who JW is… an idiot. I hope we draft a smart QB in the draft.

    “BA is a communicator

    Klueless is a bifocaled introvert

JW3 wants to be coached and learn and Klueless wasn’t good at teaching

    BA is what JW3 needs

Kobe still thinks we need a dual threat runningback (Marlon Mack) to make this offense #1 in the NFL

BA knows our Defense suks…we have to score, score, score”

    Kobe Faker

  15. Pittsshore Says:

Kobe: you were saying the same crap about Dirk when he came onboard. The “QB” whisperer. 😂

  16. Todd Says:

    @ncbucsfan

Thank you for your POSITIVE post! I’m in non-violent agreement with you. The self-loathing pretend Bucs fans with no life who project their own negative outlooks on life due to the fact most still live with their parents due to no means of viable income just SUCK!

How refreshing it was to read a positive post like yours.

Are you going to be at the draft party?

If so, I’ll buy you a beer!

We’ll figure out how to recognize each other.

    Todd

  17. Kobe Faker Says:

    “You must be mistaken

Kobe Faker and Jenna Laine drove Koetter out of Tampa”

Lol way to many haters on this site that call themselves Bucs fans. He wasn’t waxing poetic about how he threw the ball or throwing accurate but about his ability to pick up the playbook man someone of you need to get over yourselves because you think you know more than you really do and it’s getting embarrassing

  21. firethecannons Says:

Yeah this is a good post-good to hear!
I am well aware of how limited Jason Licht is–dude performs epic fails every year but hoping for some divine intervention. He trades down and gets some picks then uses them on kickers and cornerbacks with no int’s in college and no height and slow; uses those piks on outside linebacker and misuses that player in a 4-3 system. Licht gets a first round pik vh3-press specialist and next 3 seasons the dude plays 15 yds off. So many fails so now it is best for Licht just to go with top of the draft talent and stop with the bargain basement looking in every corner for the next “winner” No more extreme small school bargains. My new name moniker will be “Fed up Buc”

  22. Slugglife Says:

If it wasn’t for negatitivity this message board would be empty.

No reason to make predictions on wins and losses or go along with espn predictions. The roster isn’t even set yet. Probably a bit early to predict 4-12 or 5-11. Have a beer.

  23. SenileSenior Says:

I have been here supporting the Bucs for the quarter century or so now. Yes, I have endured the past eleven years of disappointment the same as everyone else. Yes, I was hopeful and adopted an optimistic attitude when Lovie Smith took charge. Yes, I did the same when Dirk Koetter took over. I am happy to do it again with the new regime under Bruce Arians.

Why not! That is what fans do. Put the past out of your mind as much as you can. Let us at least give the new coaches a chance to show us what they can do between now and September 8th when we open at home against the 49ers.

If you have ever had a bout with depression in your life you will have learned something of worth. Even though there were times when you couldn’t believe the sun would ever shine for you again you had to outlast that feeling. Do the same with your feelings toward YOUR TEAM. Make it fun to be a fan again just because you can.

If you need an emotional boost find your way to one of the draft parties available this Thursday night. You will be glad you did!

figures–some of us have faith in Bruce and his staff to give us a respectful year–and my house is a little five bedroom house with a pool–how is your above ground pool doing.I hear the dolphins are looking for fans.

  25. Lord Cornelius Says:

    lmao @ “bifocal introvert”

And yeah Kobe’s consistently sh1t on Koetter for years.

Good report today / nice to hear something positive lol

  26. BucEmUp Says:

I liked when Bruce said soemthing along the line of, “Both qbs were like 9 for 10 or 10 for ten so that was great. Db’s were all playing off coverage so…but great to see”

Off coverage was ALL WE PLAYED FOR FOUR QUARTERS EVERY GAME!!!!

    It was coaching!

  27. rrsrq Says:

I’m upbeat. I’m positive. I’m ready for a winning season, that being said – the previous regime I always questioned their coaching. Had no faith in them. Players digressed, players were put in position not to succeed. I believed that changes with Arians

  28. Eric Says:

    So far so good.

    Bruce knows his stuff.

Naturally it means nothing till it translates on Sundays. But for now we’re in April not September.

    Go Bucs
    Go Jameis

  29. Jeffbuc Says:

Let’s just hope Kyle Murray falls to us and get this 5 year failed experiment over with. And have 25-30 million in cap relief next year. With 4!years of a qb friendly contract. With a qb who is actually friendly to the teams success. Every year same hype. Jameis did something to transform his body. Worked with a new qb guru. Looked better this year than he ever has. He has such a firm grasp on the playbook and team. His work ethic is through the roof. This is the year he makes the step. Look at all the other great qbs turnovers through there first two years then three years then four years. This year joe will be digging up stats of qbs in the 70s and there 5th year turnovers. Or the right side of the line killed us this year. He didn’t have any time. Humphries leaving must have hurt jameis without his security blanket. We all know teams are excited to play jameis. They disguise a coverage pre snap and bait him right into interceptions with showing man and and passing the receiver off into zone. And he throws right to a linebacker or safety. And they know they get there two a game mandatory ball that just misses the receiver by five yards and hits a safety right in the bread basket. Seems like every game the defense drops 2-3 interceptions or his turnovers would be historically bad. But yeah he looks good in April in shorts let’s all get excited. So I don’t dont need another puff piece on jameis until it really matters like in November. That’s when I want to hear he is having his best season ever. Until then this is just the 5th year of bs let’s get bucs fans excited only to be saying in October if we can win 4 straight we’re only one game out of the wild card. I have been doing a lot of film study this offseason. Going back and watching 4 years of games I have recorded. And it’s hard to watch a lot of games. There’s more games I say man he cost us that game. If he doesn’t turn it over there and we just get a field goal it’s a different game. So blah blah blah

I get the need to keep it positive, but more importantly Bucs fans need to keep it real. I wish we had a better team to talk about, but the results are what they are. 5-11 two years in a row, QB in year 5-the too overall pick. We have a lot to be excited about.

I hope Jameis displays enough consistency and production to give us a chance at playoffs. You don’t condone paying the “4th best QB in the division” 25-30 million per year. No, you draft another QB- on a rookie contract- until you hit on a guy that is better than 4th best our division. Simple as that.

  31. SteveK Says:

Great post, JeffBuc- I hear that brother!

  32. Jeff Says:

JW gonna blow up this year. Make sure OJ is on all of your Fantasy teams. It’s gonna be fun to watch.

  33. Eric Says:

Were not drafting Kyle Murray if he did fall to us, silly boy.

Get some help, that kind of pent up hatred isn’t healthy.

  34. Wausa Says:

    Agree SteveK
Jamies has been given a very difficult situation with bad coaching bad defense bad special teams and bad running game

He has great talent and is a winner
I can’t wait to see what BA does with this team

    Paragraphs.

  37. DB55 Says:

    @eric

I’ve called for drafting Haskins at 5 as cheap insurance if JW don’t cut it. I’d suggest red-shirting Haskins for at least a yr and if JW blows up like I expect him to we can keep or trade Haskins.

But obviously no rookie QB will come in and be better than the NFCS QBs who have all played in SBs. Not too many division can say that.

If Murray goes first and NYG jump in front of us for Haskins then we have 3 good players on the board.

The media will tell you we have too many holes to draft Haskins. I say that’s a shortsighted view, you get ready for next year BC you have too many holes. Unless we draft the Defensive ROY then it’s all the same result.

If we finish 5-6 wins who’s our QB in 2020? Blaine Gabbret? God help us all!

  38. Joe Says:

I’ve called for drafting Haskins at 5 as cheap insurance if JW don’t cut it.

Burning a No. 5 overall pick on a guy you hope never walks onto a football field is “cheap?”

    In what world????????????????????????????????????

  39. Eric Says:

You guys would never wait for Haskins or Murray to develop anyhow.

  40. Onetrickpony Says:

Ah, I just love kool aid time.
    Drink up guys

  41. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I bleed red and crap pewter, and I ALWAYS support the team.

But Bruce Arians is not the team. Bruce Arians has been all hype and bad moves so far as the roster…outside of getting rid of Jackson. Every other move he’s made has made the roster worse, not better. I challenge anyone to prove me wrong.

That said, I realized something. Arians is a man who is acting like he expects to make more than seven picks.

This weekend is his chance to win me over. I hope he does.

  42. Pete I Says:

Means nothing in the scheme of things. Let’s see Winston perform for 16 games…for once.

  43. Bucsfanman Says:

This is the “show me” year. If there’s a coach out there who can help Jameis it’s Arians.
Fix the defense, run the football and this team can be successful. If Jameis can clean up his game, that’s just gravy!

  44. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

Whether you are a Jameis fan or not, I think you know that you can count on this…

Jameis is not going to whine and complain about the schedule. He is going to FIGHT… and hopefully get the others to fight too.

Cheap contract, rookie contracts are cheaper than 20+ mil per year.

If he never walks on you trade him. I mean the Bucs drafted VH3 at 11 so….
