The Bucs have a new cheerleader! He’s a dude!
The full 2019 squad was announced yesterday.
As usual, it’s a first-name-only presentation of the cheerleaders on the team website, where they are shown in poses for solo pictures. “Lorenzo” is the first male cheerleader in team history.
“I couldn’t be more proud of these athletes and the culture of inclusion and diversity that we have here at the Buccaneers,” Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation chief Darcie Glazer Kassewitz told Buccaneers.com.
This Lorenzo is one very accomplished guy. Phil Dunphy would be proud. Dancing, stretching and laughing with 30 special young women every week. And then there’s Joe, resigned to watching Ira Kaufman mow down chicken wings and beet salads at JoeBucsFan.com world headquarters.

We as a society have taken this garbage WAY to stinking far! Now we have male cheerleaders and female coaches!! Darcy Glazer sating she couldn’t be more proud because it shows the Bucs have a culture of inclusion and diversity!!! I am going to F…ing puke! Women doing men things and men doing women things is not diverse, it’s against the natural order of things. My God society is doomed!

So many people out in the world worrying about what somebody else is doing when it has no affect on them. A male cheerleader or female football coach doesn’t infringe on your way of life in any way, so why care?
Do you also have a problem with female officers, judges, politicians, doctors, or scientists in general? History tells us that when the first females in each of those categories were hired, plenty of scared little men said the same thing as Buc Believer.
And if you think women and diverse groups haven’t been a major part of discoveries throughout time, you’re more thickheaded than I thought. It’s your version of society that only recognizes and rewards men (and I can guess what they look like, I’m sure). So yeah, that version of society is doomed.

BucsDan… nope no problem with female judges, police officers , politicians, scientists, etc… but there ARE lines that nature has put into place. Sorry to offend you or any other liberal on this site but I don’t want to see a male cheerleader prancing around the field on a Sunday. Hats off to Lorenzo! He resembles Keenan McCardell. The poor guy gets to hang with all of those beautiful ladies all day Sunday & at 2-3 practices during the week. I’m not mad at him.
Does anyone know if these cheerleaders are paid now? I played in the Bucs’ band back in 1989 (it’s last year) and not only were we NOT paid but, Hugh never even showed his face to gave a “thanks” for appearing at all home games, 2 rehearsals weekly & a couple of “functions” outside of Bucdom. He did however comp us 2 free tickets on game day. We appreciated that but honestly, it was no skin off of his back. The stadium was rarely half full & I’m sure if sellouts were possible, that slimball wouldn’t even have given us that!
We’ve been deprived of a good owner(s) much longer than a 10 sack DE.

Call me ole school. But..I’m not fond of men cheerleading with pom poms. Now I’m all for a group of guys getting together over a few drinks encouraging their team on. I’m all for inclusion. But where does role reversals end? Today its acceptable for men to be women and women to be men. I personaly am like Lynard Skinard..I can’t change.

Organized cheerleading began at the University of Minnesota on November 2, 1898 at the University of Minnesota. Organized cheerleading blossomed from there and WAS ALL MALE until 1923 when a few women were allowed to participate at UM. It wasn’t until the 1940’s, when many men were off to war, that women were allowed full participation to fill the gaps in other colleges. In other words, it took male cheerleaders to go off fighting for America before women were allowed.
My guess is that you Homophobic Hotheads, had you been alive back then, would have been up in arms about women upsetting “the natural order of things” in 1923.
So, before you declare yourself “old school,” read a little history …

Come on people. I swear some of you will just complain to try top get company to join your misery. Is this really the first time you heard of a male cheerleader? The first time you heard of a female coach? Let people be who they are. How does it hurt you? It’s enough to whine through the draft process and during the season. I can both relate and understand that especially since our season usually is over before the end of November, but there is nothing to complain about in this article. One has to wonder though if they will discriminate against him/her/i am really unsure by making him/her/ I am really unsure use a separate locker room and or bathroom and shower?
