No Biscuit; Kareem Hunt Joins The Browns

February 11th, 2019

No biscuit

UPDATED 2:42 p.m. – A top young running back in the game was available for the taking, but the Bucs will be sticking with Peyton Barber and Ronald Jones for now.

This afternoon, 23-year-old Pro Bowler Kareem Hunt, the woman-hitting, fired-in-November Chiefs running back, was signed off the street by the Browns. He’ll bolster Cleveland’s already solid rushing attack as the Browns continue their march to NFL legitimacy.

What a whiff by the Bucs.

They need help at running back — a theme for the third consecutive offseason — and Hunt eventually will be cleared to play after his shameful hotel hallway assault was caught on video. Likely, Hunt will get a six-game suspension from Roger Goodell and the NFL. He was not arrested for the incident after a police review.

Per ESPN, Hunt jumped quickly into daily counseling after the Chiefs cut him. Understandably, he doesn’t deserve to have the video end his career. It was ugly but not Ray Rice heinous.

So were the Bucs bidding for Hunt? Joe sure hopes so. Otherwise, score it as the first official bad call of 2019.

Team Glazer has said previously it believes in second chances, which is admirable. Bruce Arians says he’s all about second chances based on his experiences as a young man. And it’s easy to argue Hunt has a cleaner record than the face of the franchise. Therefore, Hunt seemed like a fit for a Bucs team so yearning for help at running back.

Again, Joe doesn’t know if the Bucs were bidding for Hunt. But the famous Arians credo feels right on the money this afternoon: No risk it. No biscuit.

**Update – NFL Network is reporting Hunt could earn $1 million and change this year, aka Jacquizz Rodgers money.

    I’m livid

  2. Sunday_44 Says:

I guess coming to Tampa just made too much sense.

Splitting carries with Nick Chubb next year?

    Really?

  3. El_Buc941 Says:

Wow $1mil?! Well maybe Hunt isn’t the RB BA and Licht are after… After all BA did say this team isn’t in rebuild mode so it makes sense to gets a proven “Bell” cow back, lol, pardon the pun. Goes to show you the Glazer’s have higher standards than saving money.

  4. Bruce Blahak Says:

shame on you all, sign that trash?…the NFL needs to get tougher on these idiots…just ban them all. They’re black marks on the NFL image, that can’t handle anymore of this stuff.

  5. BringBucsBack Says:

“A top young running back in the game was available for the taking,…”

“…score it as the first official bad call of 2019.”

”And it’s easy to argue Hunt has a cleaner record than the face of the franchise.”

“No, Thanks. We’re confident with our evaluation process and the guys we got.” -Licht

Heck no they weren’t in “the biding”.

  6. Dewey Selmon Says:

If Winston didn’t get into a hassle with women the Glazers might of signed off on this. Hunt could of solved out kicking problem also. lol

  7. Kgh4life Says:

This sucks, however, the video involving Kareem Hunt was pretty brutal i wouldn’t be surprised if he got a 10 game suspension instead. Probably the reason Licht decided not to sign him.

  8. Jean Lafitte Says:

Pretty bad when decent players choose Da Browns over the desperate Bucs.

  9. Joe Says:

Pretty bad when decent players choose Da Browns over the desperate Bucs

Was that even a choice? Can’t put a gun to a GM’s head and say, “Give me a job.”

  10. Donuts Says:

Bucs NEVER had a chance at Hunt. He was going to go where he was comfy and John Dorsey drafted at KC him so that makes sense.

Hunt is a good RB. Bucs problems were more OL than RB. This OL is soft like tissue. I also believe there will be a “Hunt” in every draft but it’s up to the Bucs to find that guy. Clearly an area of weakness for Bucs franchise.

  11. Jean Lafitte Says:

    Joe,

true …but I’m pretty sure that Licht reached out, but again maybe he didn’t.

  12. Guzzie Says:

Hunt is from Cleveland, he probably wanted to sign there to get his life together, doubtful he even wanted to play anywhere else, the video wasn’t that bad, not like knocked anyone out, mostly pushing, then that kick that push the lady to the ground, brutal is Rice and Mixon knocking a women out

  13. Robert Says:

He got thrown under the bus for that video.

the whole poundmetoo movement has gone too far. they were stepping to him!

we should have gone after him.

  14. Robert Says:

yeah, ray rice flat out sucker punched the hell out of that girl then went to dispose of the body.

  15. __TGH__ Says:

    SMH… its a Bucs Life.

  16. Tampabaybucfan Says:

It will be a long and disappointing FA & Draft because it’s most likely we won’t get any of the players really needed (OK, maybe one or two)
But, at least we got the coach we wanted…..that’s a good start.
I’m hoping he’ll make every player just a little bit better and some a lot better.

  17. Mike in MO Says:

Send this year’s second round draft pick and Mesean Jackson to the Browns for Nick Chubb.

  18. D-Rome Says:

So were the Bucs bidding for Hunt? Joe sure hopes so. Otherwise, score it as the first official bad call of 2019.

Completely agreed. I don’t want to hear any of this SJW #metoo talk about not giving a guy like that a second chance. I watched the video of the incident. Kareem Hunt should not have done what he did but that woman knew *exactly* what she was doing that night. She knew exactly who he was, which is why she was *very* vocal in making sure she said the name “Kareem” several times.

  19. Pittsshore Says:

Who cares He will never see the field again. We all know what happened to Ray Rice.

  20. SOEbuc Says:

No surprise. Would of been nice but I really don’t think the Glazers and Licht wanted two franchise players that have had serious problems with off field incidents including women. Glazers and Bucs are a classy organisation and I think they have a lot of confidence in PB (I do) and are going to resign him, pick up a good FA RB (not Bell) to split reps, and give second year round two RoJo a second chance.

  21. Pittsshore Says:

Hey Joe. Why are you not reporting on the NFL.com article about how bad JWs mechanics are? That’s enlightening? Joe will get to it and add more perspective. –Joe https://www.joebucsfan.com/2018/11/mechanics-failing-jameis-explains-ex-buc-qb-buccaneers-blog/ Straight from Arians mouth. Although, you can’t teach ignorant to be smart and Arians will be back pedaling on his positive comments about JW when he first came on board.

  22. Bucsfanman Says:

Look at the bright side. Whoever they do bring in will at least in theory be available when the season starts.
The real problem is the OL.

  23. StoutGospel Says:

UN-F*CKING BELIEVABLE!!! What the hell was THIS GUY sayin?!?! Hunt was the priority for the Bucs, and that the gang in the front office needed to GET GOING!!!!

And for a million measly bucks plus!?!?! Sure John Dorsey drafted him in KC….but damnnnn! Licht sitting there kickin’ it on the short bus! (ohh, well we didn’t him…) SURE! Jason.

I’m livid too @DB55! And with the leash that BA was given, the supposed PR hit from signing Hunt by the Glazers was likely nil, so EVEN LESS EXCUSE!

    Stooges…

  24. Justafan Says:

If the Browns are signing Hunt, then we should trade for Duke Johnson.

  25. rrsrq Says:

Let’s see what Monken does with a running game, Browns skill positions are scary. Chubb, Hunt and Duke Johnson in the backfield. Njoku at TE and Calloway and Landry at receivers, they have given Baker a lot to work with. Will Duke Johnson become available, likely with the suspension looming, probably not.

  26. NPRSageBoy Says:

And we are to believe that THIS is a playoff team? No Risk it, no Biscuit my A$$.

    Go Bucs?

  27. lurker Says:

    Smh
    At Joe, not bucs

  28. First Down Tampa Bay Says:

Hmm come to Tampa and get nearly 100% of carries or go to Cleveland and get 50% with Chubb?

    Great choice Kareem…

  29. Waterboy Says:

Nice pickup by the Browns. Nice 1-2 punch to help take pressure off of Mayfield.

  30. Buclife954 Says:

Tampa was interested but backed off when told he will miss most of the season (10-12) games can’t be mad at that yeah it sucks but basically only have for 4-6 games ala playoffs then he’s free!!!

  31. SOEbuc Says:

Ray Lewis murdered two guys. Won the defensive player of the year and the super bowl the year after. Players might of been slowing down cus they thought they would get shived. HOF now and was doing TV at some point or another. Not balling my eyes out about Hunt I just think that’s funny to throw out there.

  32. DB55 Says:

Just a reminder that a guy who was suspended 4 games for cheating (peds) won SB MVP and I’m not sure the media ever mentioned his suspension after week 5 unlike some other’s who are literally introduced with/by their suspension on every single game and or article/interview.

  33. Issaic haggins Says:

Worst run game in the NFL and Licht is once again getting cute !!!

  34. Issaic haggins Says:

Monken just out GM’ed Licht and it’s not even his job

  35. Mort Says:

He won’t be able to play for half the year anyway. Whatever.

  36. JimmyJack Says:

I would not have minded Hunt but with all the baggage there were just too many reasons why it might not work out.

Did get a lot of course out of all the fans saying we “have” to sign him.

At the end of the day it could have been about the suspension. We need a back who can come in and give us a real chance at 16. Realistically the Browns are a much better fit the Our Bucs.

  37. Phil Says:

This is a big time miss. Hope we don’t have any more.

  38. JimmyJack Says:

Issaic……How do you even know Hunt was in play? Maybe the Glazers said they didn’t want him………..you don’t know that. Like me and even Joe you dont know what happened.

You’re post is pretty lame bro.

  39. The Coroner Says:

Official medical diagnosis on not signing Kareem Hunt: Flatus Cerebrus (Brain Fart).

  40. 813bucboi Says:

    man….that one hurt…..

looks like the browns are in win now mode…..while the bucs and their fans are stuck in wait and see mode….

    #REALISTKNOWSNOTHING!!!!…GO BUCS!!!!

  41. Bobby M. Says:

I think the rumor about Leveon Bell has some merit. Makes no sense to pass on Hunt for $1 million unless you’re certain of another option. Probably the best bargain on the market which what Licht and the Glaziers are all about. They are eyeing another RB in free agency, via trade, or the draft.

  42. pelbuc Says:

Bucs wouldn’t need Hunt if Licht knew how to draft. Rojo was a wasted pick like Aguayo, ASJ, Hargraves, Stewart, etc… Time to cut the losers and bring in some FA linebackers, Oline and a RB. Adios GMC, DJax, Kwon, Gholston, Curry, Unrein and pray some team is stupid enough to want the Bucs’ no. 5 pick.

  43. StoutGospel Says:

Wise post there….@Pelbuc! Well said sir.

  44. Anonymous Says:

The Bucs are stupid freaking stupid for not getting Kareem Hunt. How could they let Cleveland beat them to the punch? The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a chance to make the football team better and they didn’t unreal. You win games in the NFL with good football players Kareem Hunt is proven forget the draft nonsense this unreal and they say they want to win.

  45. JimmyJack Says:

813 I fail to see how not signing the RB with the most baggage means we are not in win now mode.

Reguardless to ease your pain just scroll over to the Free Agency list and look at the a ialable RBs this year. It’s very deep bro. It’s easy to assume we will sign somebody from that list. Realize that whoever we do sign should produce more then Hunt would have and you should rest a little easier tonight.

    GO BUCS!!!

  46. 813bucboi Says:

maybe duke johnson is on the trading block…..or maybe we are going after LB….i dont know what to think…..maybe thats good…maybe thats bad…..

like grimes, “this whole situation just f’ed up my vibe”!!!!!!!

    #REALISTKNOWSNOTHING!!!!…GO BUCS!!!!

  47. Jean Lafitte Says:

Could Le’Veon Bell be enticed? Explain to Jameis, who’s thinking “Big Contract” that Bell could help save his Buccaneer career. Maybe we can find room.

  48. Not there yet Says:

A bunch of teams missed. Dude gets to choose where he wants to go and not sure why people complain about a guy choosing to go somewhere except here. Bucs will get the running back situation resolved because I’m sure they realize they can’t be successful without a good run game.

Every year fans are desperate for rookies and free agents. I want to see what the guys already drafted can do, licht has to be somewhat on the hot seat going into this draft

  49. Sam Says:

Look…Hunt is a great player but the Chiefs organization dumped him because he was dishonest to them about the situation. Why would you want another guy like that on this team…..?

  50. JimmyJack Says:

That’s why you should never pigeonhole your thinking into one player.

It doesn’t matter which player you want. There could always be a reason why they may not consider the Bucs. And yes, a lot of times these guys are going to whoever ponies up the most dough but it’s naive to think every players signs for that one reason every time.

It ain’t Madden where you can click a name and he’s instantly yours. The narritive that the Bucs wiffed is nothing more then opinion.

Nobody chatting here knows what the process was that brought Hunt to Cleveland. Nobody knows how many teams were actually interested, what kind of money was involved, or what Hunts reason was for signing with Cleveland. Nobody knows nothing except speculation here.

  51. ncbucsfan Says:

Hunt will be face a 10-12 game suspension from.the league, not a 6 game suspension. Nonetheless he could’ve been a valuable addition.

  52. JimmyJack Says:

Not There Yet. Good post. Fans do this every year with every big name player that signs.

Heck I remember them doing it last year with Robert Quinn. Then a week later they were all proven foolish when the Bucs reveled their plan for that position and got JPP.

I think Quinn had a generic year for the Dolphins too…..basically doubling the foolishness.

But fans will be fans ……..Here they are doing it again. Obvisously not learned their lessons.

Just wait and see if Honey Badger stay in Texas or, God forbid, one of the other 31 teams trade for P.Peterson.

  53. 813bucboi Says:

    jimmyjack

    maybe im over reacting….lol….

i just feel like when teams really want to win(now), they’ll do anything that they feel necessary to reach that goal….

-bears were 5-11 right along with us and they gave up alot to get what they felt would get them over the hump…..

-cowboys gave up a 1st round pick for cooper….

-rams took a chance on talib and peters…2 well know knuckleheads(at times) along with suh….send draft picks away….

-cowboys were trying to win and they went after greg hardy a few years ago….

now i know those moves above involved trades and no one putting their hands on a female(except hardy) but those are just examples of teams saying, “F it!!…we’re going for it now!!”…..

i just feel like the glazers care more about image than winning SOMETIMES….not all the time….

regarding FA and the draft, i dont think any of those players are better than hunt…..

and if we sign bell i would fall over…lol…not because i dont like him but because that tells me the glazers were scared of the back lash…..

2 things are certain in sports, winning cures all & nice guys come in last….

    #REALISTKNOWSNOTHING!!!!…GO BUCS!!!!

  54. tmaxcon Says:

Too bad last time bucs brought in a rb with women issues they won super bowl. Would not want that to happen again now would we

  55. 813bucboi Says:

i guess @notthere and @jimmyjack has talked me off the ledge….lol…but i still feel like grimes….lol….

    #REALISTKNOWSNOTHING!!!!…GO BUCS!!!!

  56. BigMacAttack Says:

Leave it to Licht to screw this whole thing up again. Garbage free agents followed by a busted draft. Smdh

  57. JimmyJack Says:

813…….There a good chance that Hunt had multiple team after him and didn’t really consider the Bucs. Someone up above said that Cleveland is actually his hometown. That may not be just a coincidence……But nobody knows.

It’s nice to want a player but I always remind myself that you don’t know how realistic it is.

  58. JimmyJack Says:

    Big Mack……Bad post.

Every free agent RB that is not Hunt is garbage? You’re wronger then Rod Munch bro.

Their will probably be 10 Free Agent RBs that put up better numbers then Hunt.

Have a good evening my fellow day drinker.

    GO BUCS!!!

  59. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

Thank God we’re not adding ANOTHER bad BAD person to the team. Half the fan base is already holding their collective noses…….

  60. HeavyE Says:

Damn, How DUMB can We be???????

  61. Dewey Selmon Says:

Hunt probably wanted to stay close to home for the family to watch over him. His father, uncle and numerous cousins have all been or are currently in the penitentiary. Look it up.

  62. Bucsfanman Says:

I don’t understand how some can be so upset by this. Big deal, he was a diamond in the rough and put into a good situation. Who’s to say it wouldn’t be ROJO 2.0 if he had been drafted by the Bucs.
Lets just slow our roll. There are a bunch of FA RBs that are available still. We act like we just passed on Barry Sanders or something. Besides, don’t you think we need to improve the line first?
Consider too that he wouldn’t even have been available in the first place. Step back from the ledge!

  63. 813bucboi Says:

    jimmyjack

    your right…..

    #REALISTKNOWSNOTHING!!!!…GO BUCS!!!!

  64. Fred Bickley Says:

I wanted Hunt too, but get some perspective, Hunt is not for this year, he is for next year. 6 game suspension, meaning he can’t even practice, he wasn’t going to be a driving force for this team this season anyway, and he will be available next year once he has reestablished himself. He is injury insurance for Chubb. We nee an actual back to start the season and get into a rhythm with Jameis to see what we have in him before next year. Waiting on Hunt can’t be an excuse for this team.

  65. TOM Says:

Well, thanks Licht you did it again. Wasn’t worth a mil at 23 yrs. old. Boy, what a great evaluater you are. I don’t care how good the HC is this team will go nowhere while Licht GM. What a great start to 2019. Licht you are a total waste.

  66. BucEmUp 7 Says:

Hea going to ve suspended half the season, he was a product of a really good offense..Damian williams, james conner , alvin kamara. man I cant wait for slow season to be over

  67. WillieG Says:

Maybe the Bucs ownership found their moral compass? Or they have different rules:

You can grab a stranger’s crotch but you can hit a woman you know after she hits you!

  68. Loyaltotheend Says:

Bucs already have one player (Jameis) who has lied to the team don’t need another

Besides Licht is gonna give Jones any opportunity to prove he’s a good GM

  69. Buc believer Says:

Starting to really lose faith in biscuit man and the season is still more than half a year away.

  70. BucdUp813 Says:

I LOVE HOW ALL YALL WILL ACCEPT KAREEM HUNTS ACTIONS BUT NOT JAMEIS…..

    “BUCS FANS”….

  71. BrianBucs Says:

If Hunt would have been signed here, we could have had a very abusive backfield – the Sexual Abuser and the Physical Abuser.

  72. The Real Malloy Says:

Yeah, I’m good with this. I’m not one to be thrilled about Jameis, but I understand that he’s getting his 2nd chance (or 3rd chance) because of the talent level and investment. That being said, no thanks on Kareem Hunt. There are plenty of other RB’s out there. There is a reason we never took Ray Rice and I’m behind this. Get someone to pair up with Peyton and we’ll be fine with this staff and a couple OL upgrades.

  73. Defense Rules Says:

@Buc Believer … “Starting to really lose faith in biscuit man and the season is still more than half a year away.” Is it just me, or is there a certain irony in a JBFer with the handle ‘Buc Believer’ saying that he’s ‘losing faith’ in the Bucs coach?

Free agency doesn’t even start until March 13th (over a month away). The draft doesn’t happen until April 25th (well over 2 months away). Our new coach and his staff is still analyzing what needs to be done to FIX THIS MESS. LOTS of opportunities on the horizon to right the ship. BE PATIENT Buc Believer.

  74. Buc believer Says:

@Defense Rules… yeah you are right! Just a bit gun shy from all these years of bad coaching and bad players acquisitions and releases. Let’s see how it pans out.

  75. westernbuc Says:

    1) He’s from Cleveland
    2) Dorsey drafted him
    3) Our QB has been accused of sexual assault twice.
    4) He could miss ten or twelve games

If we’re truly in win-now mode, what good is a running back that won’t play until we’ve already been eliminated from the playoffs?

  76. Buccaneerscotty Says:

How you y’all feel of me hit and kicked your daughter? Just saying that I am glad we passed….

  77. Buccaneerscotty Says:

How would ya’ll feel if he hit your daughter? Where is your Edit button?

  78. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

So Robert hates JW for off the field actions but apparently beating and kicking women is ok by him. Cool!

  79. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Hey……there’s a 1st round WR that just became available…….Ray Carruth was released from prison for the death of his pregnant girlfriend…..
Other than the fact he’s 45……

  80. Mike Johnson Says:

Somebody here calls Hunt trash. Possibility or not..NFL fans will forget all about his past when he rushes for over a grand and some chnge next season.
Winning is all that maters in this league. Jameis wins a Soperbowl and all will be forgiven and forgotten. Besides ..ok I won’t go where I was going.

  81. BoiseBucFan Says:

Guys, remember….It’s the Browns. They’ve built a brand making the wrong decisions. This will NOT work out for them.

  82. joestang Says:

Hey Joe you have to remember this is the Bucs. They never grab a top notch player its always the cheap bottom feeder free agent that sucks. Just keeping up with tradition. Ron Jones should be the face of this losing franchise. I cant believe he is still with the team along with Licht. They deserve each other.

coming from a buc fan your entire post is laughable….

browns have a better record than bucs in recent history and unlike the bucs they do NOT own the worst winning percentage in NFL history…

browns have hope bucs do not and you know that .

  84. BucEmUp 7 Says:

Bucdup….EXACTLY!!!! Everyone is quick tomoverlook Hunts proven action wlbut ready to crucify Jamris for allegations against him with no evidence, arrests convictions….nada.

    Cant fake stupid

  85. WinnipegBucsFan Says:

Hunt will be suspended for the first 6 games of next season minimum. Doesn’t help us much in the immediate future. We need a day 1 starter. Maybe we sign a player. Maybe we draft one. But whoever it is needs to be able to play week 1

  86. Jonathan Lipnicki Says:

Hunt is a heck of a talent…no doubt about it. With the cloud still surrounding Winston…it’s a tough go. In fact…with the Chiefs already trying to win the PR battle with the Tyreek Hill situation…protecting Hunt would have been too much to take on.

  87. stpetebucsfan Says:

Agree with D.R. and Jimmy Jack that was a great series of posts. Of course too much logic in them for many folks here.

The dumbest most incorrect post in this thread….

”And it’s easy to argue Hunt has a cleaner record than the face of the franchise.”

Only an idiot would argue that. 87 can vouch as I’m sure I’ve upset him a lot over the past year because of my upset that JW was out with two thugs…blackout drunk at 3AM just a year after almost jeopardizing his #1 selection with his Tallahassee hijinks.
I’m far from a JW nuthugger. But that is just an absurd comparison.

Guess what…he did not PUNCH women…he DID NOT kick them when they’re down. How do you compare stupidity with mindless violence against women? Geesh. Some of you guys would sign Jack the Ripper if he could run or pass the football!!!

This wasn’t just about that video!!!

    https://www.cnn.com/2018/12/04/sport/kareem-hunt-previous-incidents/index.html

Kareem Hunt has been accused in three violent incidents this year

Of course he went to counseling after three incidents…that have been reported…how many others does he have in his past that went unreported. It is clearly a PATTERN!

I feel sorry for Kareem Hunt. He clearly has ISSUES. Hopefully therapy will help. I’m not talking about punishing him I’m talking about protecting the Bucs!!!

There is no ONE RB who is going to turn this franchise around. There are a few who might deep six a season for us because of their attitudes or behavior. Hunt seems to realize his career is hanging by a thread. My son lives in Ohio and is a huge Browns fan. I wish the best for Kareem and my son. Hope it works out.

But I shall not miss him here in Tampa or chastise the Buc management for their RISK ASSESSMENT.

  88. Defense Rules Says:

Joestang … RoJo is still on the team because of MONEY, that’s it far as I’m concerned. He was paid $7 mil for a 4-year contract with $4.5 mil guaranteed. According to Spotrac, his dead CAP impact is $3.2 mil this year. Not exactly what we need right now. Turns out there’s a pretty severe CAP penalty for drafting non-impact players high. Two other 2nd Round picks (Stewart & Davis) together add another $3.7 mil in dead CAP (almost as much as RoJo).

Joe, now that I think of it, since you’re giving Licht credit for turning Vita Vea around (as opposed to crediting his coaches), why don’t you have Jason talk to RoJo pretty soon. Obviously all that he needs is a good talking to, just like Vea. Then after RoJo becomes a superstar, we could nickname Jason the ‘Draftee Whisperer’.

  89. cmurda Says:

The Browns picking up Kareem presents a huge opportunity. While everyone pisses and moans about “losing out” on Hunt, I’m excited as to the prospect of Duke Johnson. The same guy that rushed for 5 yds per carry and is a true threat catching the ball as he average 9.1 ypc. He handled the ball just over 5 times a game. ONLY 5 TIMES A GAME. It’s borderline criminal how underutilized he is which means plenty of gas left in the 25 year old. Stop thinking about the soon to be suspended Hunt and start thinking about a guy that can do it all in the backfield named Duke Johnson.

  90. Joe Says:

Let’s think about this for a moment. If the Browns dump Johnson (hasn’t happened yet and likely won’t this year), are you saying the Bucs would be better off with a guy a team replaced with a woman-kicker than the actual woman-kicker himself who is one of the best backs in the NFL?

Nope. Not saying that. I was in the get Hunt crowd but I am saying that a guy that has always been trumpeted as underutilized could greatly improve our team. I don’t anticipate it being by way of FA. I think if B.A./Licht wants Duke, we trade a mid to late rounder for him. The reason I like him is I see him fitting in perfectly in B.A’s offense. Look at how beastly David Johnson was under Bruce. Duke’s skillset favors getting him in space like Arians likes to do. We know he can catch. 74 receptions for 693 yds 3 TZD’s in 2017. I haven’t given up on ROJO yet, but I have zero confidence that guy can consistently catch passes out of the backfield. Duke’s never missed a game in his career. Nevertheless, the tread is light on his tires.

I don’t think Arians has even had time to think about Free Agency yet.

“Hunt could of solved out kicking problem also. lol”

    ROFLMFAO
    I -CANT-STOP!!! OMG that … ugh… my belly sore. Try catch breath…

Dewey wins the Internet today! That was outstanding.

  94. Pickgrin Says:

Hunt already lives in Cleveland. Pretty sure that has a lot to do with his choice to sign with the Browns…..

For all those disappointed in the Bucs not signing Hunt, go kick a girl …it will probabllymake you feel better.

  96. EARL BEDFORD Says:

Unbelievable! He has 3 separate personal conduct violations incidents and hasn’t played in 3 months and have a job and Colin Kaepernick did a peaceful kneeling protest, took his team to the Super Bowl, had an 11-3 td/int the following season but can’t get a look as a back-up QB! Kneeling people!!! SMH.

  97. Old School Athlete Says:

Thank you, Bucs, for not disgracing us by signing this guy.

  98. J.T. Cross Says:

Yeah, the so Bucs would have a woman feeler and woman hitter. Both being chargeable felony offenses with a simple phone call. No thanks to both. One problem child is enough.

  99. bucsdelight Says:

I just saw MJD’s mock draft, he has the Bucs drafting a RB. Josh Jacobs – Alabama.

Alabama RB Josh Jacobs is the top RB in this year’s NFL Draft, but there’s something to Jacobs that makes him different than the typical top RB.

    School: Alabama

    Year: Junior

    Height: 5’10″

    Weight: 216 lbs

During his time with Alabama, RB Josh Jacobs spent most of his time as a rotational player. He didn’t start many games with the Crimson Tide. Despite not being the starter for most of his time with the team, Jacobs made the most of the playing time he did receive.

In fact, he did so well with his limited playing time, he’s being considered the top RB in draft class full of RBs who have been the starters for several seasons. That’s impressive. Let’s take a look at what Jacobs has to offer an NFL team.
    Strengths:

    Size and strength

At 5’10”, Jacobs is a little bit shorter than the typical workhorse RB, but his frame is right where it needs to be. Just by looking at Jacobs, you can tell he’s got the body to punish defenders. NFL teams will love that about him. A workhorse RB needs to have the size to be able to consistently punish defenders, especially on runs inside the tackles.

Good. How the hell do most of you give this guy a pass?

Lots of bad people – including Ray Lewis – have played the game.

But man, get with the times. Dude got cut for reason, and really shouldn’t be back on the field any sooner than Ray Rice. Don’t any of you losers have women in your households – including the Joe writing this nonsense? Clearly not.

  101. Bradinator Says:

Sign and trade deal, just like w/ Bridgewater. The Browns have Chubb, and he’s a workhorse. They are just waiting to see what the punishment is so they can set the price. They don’t have to pay him a dime for the 1st 10 weeks of the season. They can wait until somebody loses a RB and make a deal. The Bucs got NO ONE at RB. Can they afford to wait 10 weeks for this guy? Not really. There are guys just like him waiting around to be drafted, for less money and the best ability of all…Avail-ability.

  102. IBelieveinJameis Says:

Glad Bucs didn’t sign him. I get it’s a minimal financial risk, but the PR nightmare and impending suspension make this one a potential toxic mix. Smart hard pass by Licht.
