Joe Is In Indianapolis

February 27th, 2019

Greetings from cold Indianapolis.

So Joe is here at his usual winter hangout, downtown Indianapolis at the Indiana Convention Center (nee: Hoosier Dome) for coverage of the 2019 NFL combine.

(This is always an irksome item for “this Joe.” Of course, it is the “NFL” combine. It’s like calling the Super Bowl the “NFL” Super Bowl. Ya’ think? The combine Joe is at this week sure as hell isn’t a $750,000-piece of farm machinery.)

Anyway, Bucs fans starving for news sure will get plenty over the coming days including later this morning. Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht is scheduled to speak to the assembled NFL media from around the globe at 11 a.m. followed by Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians at noon.

(To Joe’s knowledge, these speaking appearances will not be broadcast or streamed live anywhere.)

And yes, Joe will be there live interviewing various college prospects and banging out all sorts of stories until he boards his plane to Tampa on Sunday.

    Joe,
Do they let the press outside of the podium interviews talk with the players?

  2. BuccYa Says:

    WE WANT IRA!!

The somewhat illegal tampering begins today.

Conversations happening in alley ways / behind closed doors between teams / agents

Joe- wear a wire. Get some intel.

Did you see the browns signed left tackle Greg Robinson to 1 year – 7 mil deal.

    đŸ‘€

Bucs – get real done before Trent brown gets his mega deal. That’s huge. Donovan smith had a little better year and is year younger but again that is something to measure up to this year. I think bucs May want to get deal done now cause the market could change next year.

Giants paid Nate soldier 15 mil per last year which was overpaying joke cause no other options. He is average like smith.

If Bucs can get smith around 10 a year then do it. You can always still draft a tackle and move smith inside for year or right tackle if he struggles in future to live up to contract. Make 1st two years guaranteed

I have my eye on Quinnen Williams and David Montgomery, both would be immediate upgrades at their respective positions.

But I might be a little biased because I’m an Iowa State fan.

Joe….I’m outside smoking some pork in my sandals.

Have fun watching guys practicing in their underoos.

Not what Joe flies to Indy for. Could give a rat’s rear end about the glorified indoor track practice.

Yeah, I know why youre there…very important too. But im one of those that loves the combine events. Yeah, true speed doesnt replace football speed, no pads, not much pressure, yada yada, but watch those drills from the O linemen. Those are telling. Thats how Marpet stood out to me.

Im starting to think we go guard with our 2nd pick since moving back into the first for Sweat probably isnt feasible, and we need help there. Keep your eyes on Dalton Risner…high 2nd rounder! Would fit right in if we stay pat with White as our first and no trades are made.

G Dalton Risner…he’s a LG and we could try moving Marpet back to RG.

  12. MadMax Says:

My bad, he’s an OT…had him in my notes as LG, sorry.
