Jackson-less Bucs Soon?

February 19th, 2019

Will Bucs leave him in stairwell?

Just judging recent history before Vinny Curry, when the Bucs start salary cap cuts prior to the free agency dinner bell ringing, those come in late-February.

Today, it is Feb. 19.

So with that in mind, Joe thinks of malcontent wide receiver DeSean Jackson. He has done just about everything he can short of standing in front of the Glazer family museum and bark at children to not read books to demonstrate he and wants out of Tampa Bay and cannot stand America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston.

In short, Jackson has said it’s either Jameis or him. The two apparently cannot coexist on the field of play.

Two weeks ago, new Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians and Jackson were supposed to have a sitdown. Where and if the two broke out the peace pipe is anyone’s guess at this stage.

In Joe’s eyes, Bucs life without Jackson is a very real possibility. So at the World Congress Center in downtown Atlanta during Super Bowl Week at a CBS media availability, Joe asked heavy metal headbanging CBS Sports NFL columnist Jason La Canfora if the Bucs may move on from Jackson.

JoeBucsFan.com: What do you think will happen between Bruce Arians and DeSean Jackson? Jackson has the Bucs between a rock and a hard place. Hearing through other sources, Jackson seems to like Arians and loves his offense. But Arians is a Jameis guy and Jackson does not like Jameis.

Jason La Canfora: I think at the end of the day they may go in a different direction. It wouldn’t surprise me. Use that money to keep Humphries and use him in the slot and then you have Mike Evans, Brate and Howard. You have a lot of options there at tight end. Now DeSean, on any given Sunday, can still take the top off a defense. But, because of the interpersonal dynamics there, him being more of a Fitzy guy, I can see them going in a different direction.

Joe honestly thinks Jackson may be the most overrated receiver in the NFL. Joe watches playoff games each and every year and Joe cannot remember Jackson making a play in a playoff game. Imagine that, teams can make the playoffs without DeSean Jackson? (Yesterday actually was the 10-year anniversary of the one special playoff game of Jackson’s career.)

Joe understands it annoys some Bucs fans, like when their girlfriend changes the radio station right in the middle of an Eddie Van Halen solo, when Jameis can’t hit Jackson on a deep pass. As we found out recently, it doesn’t help that Jackson blows off Jameis when he wants to work with Jackson to solve this issue.

It is best for all parties that the Bucs wash their hands of Jackson.

There is zero guarantee Jackson’s nonsense will stop. And the Bucs would be much better off funneling the money budgeted for Jackson to a receiver who is much more productive, say, Adam Humphries.

Teams also make playoffs without Jw3 as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 2019 season will reveal answers to the sheep, that the “real” fans already know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    GO Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can’t wait till this cancer is gone…When did he actually extend or fight to catch a ball? NEVER …alligator arms and cared little…he gave up on the ball if it wasn’t perfectly delivered

  3. First Down Tampa Bay Says:

Well, we had better keep at least one of Humphries or DJax, because without them, our offense is going to be extremely stale. As we all know, Mike Evans is obviously not a burner, so it is a must to have some speed somewhere in our receivers to make the DBs respect. Last year, when DJax and OJ Howard were out, our offense had no speed, and subsequently we put up our worst offensive stretch of the season.

Right now, it’s all too easy to wave goodbye to DeSean, but his speed absolutely must be replaced, or we will fall into the same offensive ineptitude we’ve seen in recent years.

If we cannot replace him, we cannot let him leave.

  4. Larry Says:

Goodbye!!! Can’t wait until he is gone! You new he was a problem when he refused to attend the ota’s his first season in Tampa.

  5. Steve in Mad Beach Says:

With a week WR free agent and draft class we should be able to trade this nut for some draft capital!

DJAX was a cancer on the eagles and redskins and now here in TB.

It’s ashame because of his ultra speed that teams still sign this cancer…

  10. Jonzey Says:

Keep McCoy, Kwon, and Hump draft Devin white in the first Jeffery Simmons in the second, sign Ramon Foster and Trent Brown . Let Cut Djax, Allen, Gholston, Dotson, Benenoch, Bond, Conte, Fitzpatrick, Grimes, Minter, Rodgers, Ryan Smith, and Tu’iklovvatu. Move Kwon to outside and put White middle.

  11. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

It never ceases to amaze me how Joe can pull these quotes from past interviews. I don’t see how he even remembers them. I’d love a peek at his organizational methods. I forget stuff from two weeks ago, yet I see him pull up stuff from years ago (not in this case).

  12. Joe Says:

I don’t see how he even remembers them.

Are you familiar with voice recorders? Each smartphone has one and Joe assumes the hand-held devices are still sold at Target.

  13. tnew Says:

Need to be smart at the WR/TE position.. Currently, the Bucs have $40 million or so allocated to Evans, Jackson, Brate and Howard and they need to make a decision on Hump. If Hump is allowed to test the market, only one team could go Jerrick McKinnon and he could have a $10mil salary. A realistic situation could see the team without Hump and Jackson. I have hope for Watson and Wilson, but losses of Djax and Hump would need to to be addressed either in the draft or free agency. Gonna be an interesting off-season.

  14. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

Bonzai, that was a super meaty fastball for joe to tee off on like willie mcgee swinging for the bleachers…..but if djax was such a widely known POS for the team why did jason licht not send him packing?

  15. Joe Says:

willie mcgee swinging for the bleachers

Nah, Willie was a doubles/gap hitter.

but if djax was such a widely known POS for the team why did jason licht not send him packing?

Coaches wanted to keep him. As Todd Monken himself said, “We’re trying to save jobs.”

Just you suggesting this tells me you don’t pay attention. Brown is an even worse diva than Desean Jackson. He’s completely gone off his rocker.

  21. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Joe, I was going by the Buccaneers roster page and Spotrac. The Bucs page lists him as on the roster.

  22. Jarod Says:

This team and it’s fans would also be much better off if the Joe’s would just stop writing the same crap about jackson..we friggen get it ! Jackson hates jw3, he doesn’t think he has to put work in because he’s a vet , jw3 can’t hit him in stride going deep , his 10 mil can be used in better ways , he likes fitz better , and yadda, yadda yadda ! I hope he gets cut soon just to save my eyes and thoughts on this site for better material to read..its a bummer you joes keep beating this dead horse..go bucs

The Licht will retool roster, but I highly doubt we see the massive turnover Bonzai lists.

Curry (cut), DJax, GMC, B.Allen & Dotson = ~$40M in 2019 cap space….All can be replaced via Draft & FA for much much less.
(This Edge / DT / RT heavy 2019 draft class helps immensely!)

  25. Robert Says:

wish him well, he deserves a QB that can actually throw it to him.

  26. Robert Says:

    ARE YOU HIGH BONZAI??????

Kwon is hurt, but yeah sign him guaranteed money, GMC is the definition of losing culture and old, but sign him, Hump (love him) but he aint worth 8 mill to this team-maybe NE or NO but not TB

I just can’t comment anymore that $%^& is so stupid.

  27. TOM Says:

    YADA YADA YADA

  28. DaPostman Says:

This MeSean debate is probably the stupidest of all debates. MeSean catches 3.8 passes a game for his career. That’s about 55 catches a season. He averages 2 yes 2 long TD’s a season. BTW, Winston hit MeSean on a long pass in Cincy this year. They played together about half a season and MeSean got his 1 long TD from Winston. Right on average. Even Drew Brees misses Ted Ginm Jr on deep passes. Deep passes are like Home Runs. Sometimes you hit them but mostly you will strike out.

  29. Robert Says:

jw the crabman can’t go deep

not deep like white boy deep. i.e. brady, brees, manning

  30. ertleslaw Says:

I love what Hump brings to this team. He works hard, takes well to coaching, has good hands, and he’s the only WR on the team that produces YAC. He’s a valuable contributor, and he seems like a great guy.

All that being said, he cannot be retained at 8+ million per year. That price tag is fine for a #2, but if you count WRs and TEs, he’s at least the 4th option in the Bucs passing game (Evans, Howard, Godwin). We’re already overpaying Brate. Don’t overpay Hump (if we must overpay one, choose Hump over Brate).

I’m surprised that there’s not more chatter about pursuing Jamison Crowder. He and Hump have a very similar skill set, they’re both 25, and the eyeball test says Crowder is faster (despite his 4.56 combine 40). He will probably end up signing something closer to 4-5 million per year. Why not with Tampa?

  31. Not there yet Says:

A trade down will for additional picks will set the table to retool and move on from our high prices free agents. The only reason we would keep unproductive guy like Geraldine would be the same reason this team loses so much. You can’t pay a guy based on what he did years ago and he has not been the same player for a couple years and can’t wven get to the meaningless pro bowl anymore, that’s not going to magically change with age. This is a young mans game and we need to get someone in the draft with fire and something to prove. Winston has that before all the losing and interceptions started to mount but rookie year he looked like he was the unquestioned leader….. as a rookie so these vets need to go

  32. Jean Lafitte Says:

Joe will go absolutely bonkers if they decide to keep him.

  33. Lord Cornelius Says:

@Realist going all-in on the Bucs / Arians / Winston being a disappointing failure in 2019.

    GO BUCS!

  34. StoutGospel Says:

Yeah @Robert…Bonzai’s (stuff) was abit whackadoo to say the least! That Kwon nonsense, and Donovan Smith’s agent isn’t going to let his client sign a 4 year deal with 1 YEAR GUARANTEED?! Hump figures a bit too high, but a team out there might reach. Adam Caplan says Bucs are sticking to $6 mill per for Hump, his camp wants $8 mill annually, obviously. And the Steve T stuff…lord dude ain’t on the team! Use OverTheCap, it’s always better, always.

Terms on LVD and GMC are fair, agents might allow if player wants to stay put.

    But think things through Bonzai….

    Go Bucs!

  35. martinii Says:

I am all in on cutting a loser and retaining a winner.” Goodby DJAX, sign here Adam.”

  36. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Djax is still here?…..that’s sure news to me…..I’ve read so many “He’s Gone” articles that I thought he was history weeks ago.

  37. Defense Rules Says:

Bonzai … Savings $$$ by releasing players is the easy part. Filling the resultant holes that are created … with comparable or (hopefully) better talent … is a LOT more difficult as you well know.

You cut 3 DTs (GMC, Allen & Unrein … Stevie T doesn’t count), 3 DEs (Curry, Gholston & Spence) and 1 RT (Dotson) plus 1 WR (DJax) & 1 LB (LVD) to get to your $75 mil number. That’s NINE significant holes that NEED to be refilled. Add in the number of starters & key rotational players we’re already down (2 LB … Kwon & Taylor, plus 1 CB … Grimes, plus 1 Safety … Conte, plus 1 RB … Rodgers, plus 1 LT … D Smith, plus 1 backup QB … Griffin) AND replace Benenoch with a real Guard and that adds another EIGHT positions that we NEED to replace … for a total of 17 players we’d have to pay for out of that $75 mil that you saved. Of course we won’t talk about adding some real DEPTH to our roster, or finding a kicker who can last longer than 6 months.

That turns out to be about $4.5 mil apiece average to replace all those players, several of whom won’t come cheap (LT, CB, LB). Not gonna cut it IMO. All I can think is that BA, Licht & this coaching staff has a real challenge on their hands.

  38. Issaic haggins Says:

Koetters offense was junk w out Jackson on the field !!! Now a running game can negate some of what Jackson brings ? Jackson does have some trade value , what he brings for an offense that doesn’t have it is a bargain at 10 mil . Jackson is the best deep threat in the history , that’s right history of the nfl ,think about that !!! The Bucs can get value but Licht isn’t McKay who got a second for Harold Bishop !!!

Licht is just a body that thinks way way to much of himself and will probably blow it Again

  39. TexBuc Says:

Why would D. Smith or L. David accept less than market value? Why should the Bucs give 9M to K. Alexander recovering from a serious knee injury? Why cut Spence a player on a rookie contract who has been asked to play out of position who still may demonstrate potential in a 3-4?

  40. Lord Cornelius Says:

“You cut 3 DTs (GMC, Allen & Unrein … Stevie T doesn’t count), 3 DEs (Curry, Gholston & Spence) and 1 RT (Dotson) plus 1 WR (DJax) & 1 LB (LVD) to get to your $75 mil number. That’s NINE significant holes that NEED to be refilled.”

1 of those DT never played (Unrein).
The other was a bad part time starter (Allen).
The other is an aging veteran (mcCoy).

For the 3 DEs – 2 of them basically were non factors / non starters on any other team in Gholston/Spence. Curry was a very weak starter at best and more like a teams 3rd or 4th DE than a starter.

For the RT – yeah Dotson is a legit starter.

For WR – we have the replacements on the roster already. Djax was ineffective here so we might literally be better just by moving his targets to our more efficient players.

LB – Lavonte is a starter.

IMO the only concerning legit “significant” holes or players in this entire list are Gerald McCoy / Demar Dotson / Lavonte David. Those are the only 3 legit full time starters that were significant contributors / actual decent players.

Sure we will need depth – but guys like Unrein/ALlen/Curry/Spence/Djax were not key to any success here or any wins here. THey are not core key contributors.

They were depth that was super expensive for the production. In theory if you just spend more efficiently FA you could upgrade those positions while paying less.

  41. Defense Rules Says:

Lord C … How good or bad they played (and in Unrein’s case, didn’t play at all) wasn’t the point. They’re POSITIONS that NEED to be refilled. They’re SIGNIFICANT because of the POSITION, not because of the player filling them.

  42. Robert Says:

the team did not do well when d jax was out with his significant thumb injury.

we do NOT have another true number 2 on the roster.

  43. Dre Says:

Y’all gonna learn … it’s not desean it’s jameis … you will learn after the season coming up that jameis sucks

  44. Lord Cornelius Says:

    @DR

I guess I just have a different definition of “significant” then. 6 of the 9 guys you mentioned were not guys any team would have wanted to start/rely on last year. They are not new significant holes in our roster that we create by releasing them. They are just existing holes that we filled with expensive garbage and we need to fill with better quality.

Maybe a better way of saying this is – where you seem to see a major problem – I see opportunity. To me it’s dumping expensive garbage and re allocating resources better.

i.e. $10M on Djax goes instead to an adequate CB or RG that is better than 2018 Grimes or 2018 Benecoch, with no need to spend big on a 3rd WR given our depth.

i.e. $13M on McCoy goes away and his replacement is drafted in R1 for much less and the rest of that $$ saved is spent on a better 3rd DT than Allen or Unrein. DT group upgrade / made younger / for less $$.

See what I’m saying? We haven’t spent $$ well and should be getting better bang for our buck if we Licht were wiser

  45. Kobe Faker Says:

    “Worried about the receiver?

hey sheep we have huge holes in 8-9 key positions we need filled to have a nfl caliber team on the field

    -#1 corner
    -left tackle
    -right guard
    -right tackle

-middle linebacker….what the hell is Kobe talking about we need 3 more linebacker starters with LVD in our 3-4 def

    -safety
    -runningback

    you sheep worried about receiver?

Kobe wants to know who the “real” fans The Buc Realiest is talkin about?”

    LOL…you clowns

there is 1 key in the 2019 season

    only 1….

    OJ HOWARD

how BA is going to get him healthy to play full 16 games and to fully exploit OJ because…

OJ HOWARD is the number 1 mismatch in all NFL

when BA can utilize both JW and OJ together to make our offense defensiveness is the reason we will play in the 2019 NFC championship game

dont get Kobes motor started so early in this silly season”

    Kobe Faker”

    God only knows.

Pretty much agree with you on needs right now. I think LT will be Smith tho for at least one more year.

    RG
    RT
    RB

    #1 CB
    Safety

DL/LB depending on the 4-3 or 3-4 plans and how the draft falls.

Based on what will be available in FA and our cap:

    Claiborne/some ex Bowls LBs/Landon Collins/

Covers starting outside CB, some LB depth, and S

trade back and draft 2 OL and 2 DL and a RB in first 4 rounds.

    i.e.

    R1-Ed Oliver
    R2-Chris Lindstrom
    R2-R4-BPA-OT/RB/DE

Can’t get it all in one offseason. Will still be relying on youth in our secondary developing and depth in our WR group and OL improvement via new blood but that seems like it could be done.

  49. Lord Cornelius Says:

Just saw we signed Andre Ellington. Basically BA’s Jaquis Rodgers lol

    i agree….

They are not new significant holes in our roster that we create by releasing them.

cutting those underachieving vets will give players the opportunity to develop….who knows…we may be able to fill a spot or 2 with payers that are already on the roster(wester liedke)

    #REALISTKNOWSNOTHING!!!!!….GO BUCS!!!!

  54. 813bucboi Says:

    kobe

i think bowles fingerprints will be all over the draft….we need youth and players that werent brainwashed or ruined by smitty….lol…

BA will grab a couple FA’s for offense(RB maybe a back up QB)
i think we draft 2 olinemen and the rest defense so bowles can develop players for his defense…..

    #REALISTKNOWSNOTHING!!!!!….GO BUCS!!!!

  55. Defense Rules Says:

@Lord C … “Maybe a better way of saying this is – where you seem to see a major problem – I see opportunity. To me it’s dumping expensive garbage and re allocating resources better.” That’s fine, we can look at it like that. IMO the real bottom line is creating a TEAM roster … that can WIN. And I suspect your goal is the same. When a ‘hole’ is created , whether it had been filled by Stanley Studly or by Harvey Dragbutt, it’s still a HOLE and has to be refilled. And most of those HOLES that were noted were being filled by either starters or key rotational players. The FACT that we went 5-11 for 2 years in a row tells me that many of them played more like Harvey Dragbutt and deserve to be replaced. Whether we can or not, because of $$$ AND available talent (in FA & draft), is another story.

But still LC, players like GMC are hardly ‘expensive garbage’. I’ve said many times that I don’t believe GMC’s worth his $13 mil salary & that his play has declined, but he could still be a significant force in the center of the DLine. It’s up to management to determine what value they’re willing to place on his potential contribution this year. And the same with the other players like Allen, Gholston & LVD that went into Bonzai’s $75 mil savings. IF we cut them, they STILL have to be replaced, hopefully with comparable or better talent. And that costs $$$ that we may not have.

Of the 17 positions I noted, I’d guess that up to 5 of them MIGHT be filled by draftees (if we’re REALLY lucky). And that’ll probably only be about $7-$8 mil (maybe). It’ll still be a daunting task to re-make this lineup with so many other new starters & key rotational players for the remaining $65 mil or so, or to re-sign our own FAs for those positions (like Donovan & Hump hopefully). In any event, it’ll be interesting to watch.

  56. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

*Kobe likes us to trade down to QB hungry team and grab Devin White plus 2 more 2nd rounders ”

I’m scared, I think I actually agree with Kobe.
If the “Big 3” are gone, I see this as the best case scenario.

  57. Lord Cornelius Says:

    @DR

Agree on building a team. & I wasn’t referring to McCoy/Lavonte/Dotson as “expensive garbage” tho.

When I use that term I’m talking $10M for 2 DTs who did nothing for us, $8M for 3 sacks from Curry, $10M for nothing from Grimes, $10M for a WR that has had subpar #’s and complains after our best win of the year, etc.

Licht has spent pretty terribly in FA. We’re just lucky we’re not locked into that $$ with most these guys.

Also what is with this headline about leaving Djax in some staircase? Is Joe referring to the Realist Tampa 2 Mafia or something?

  58. Defense Rules Says:

Lord C … Out of curiosity, in your 4:11 PM comment, why didn’t you list LT, MLB & backup QB as NEEDS? As of this moment, none of those are on our roster. I also think we’ll franchise Donovan, but that position is still a NEED until we do. And once we do re-sign him, subtract about $15 mil from available CAP $$$.

No idea who we’ll sign as a MLB, but I’m sure that position will cost us at least $5 mil and probably more (unless we draft a MLB of course). Same with backup QB; hard to find a good one for less than $3-$5 mil.

  59. calbucsfan Says:

I would not be surprised at all that since we haven’t heard a whisper after the alleged Arians Jackson meeting, the two have agreed to that he should be traded. The agreement probably goes something like this, HC says:

“Hey DJ, it’s clear you want out of here, so give me a list of the team(s) you would like to go to, and if you KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT I give my best effort to get you traded to one of them. But if you run your twitter-mouth about this conversation or disrespect Jaboo one more time, you WILL go to a team NOT on the list! Do you feel me?”

  60. Widerightandleft Says:

Why cant these guys just run the routes they are asked to ,shut up and play a game they should love, get paid crazy money, and go home .Realize they are blessed to be doing so.SMH

  61. Kobe Faker Says:

“Kobe doesnt think BA needs 7 different key offensive players

BA will have 2-4 starters doing most of the heavy pulling

BA is a very confident SOB and should be. He knows offenses and how to beat defenses. BA doesnt need Djax, Hump nor Brate…i think he will love Auclair

he will bring his cheap complement offensive players (oline vets) but the draft and FAs and the salary cap money will all be for Bowles to make us a playoff caliber defense

BA knows he can make this offense work and how it will work months before he accepted the job. BA knows how to score now its up to Bowles to only allow less pts than us each game”

    Kobe Faker

  62. Lord Cornelius Says:

    I prefer dissentient egocentric.

This phenomenal receiving group suddenly gets very very thin if DJax and Humphreys go.

    I see DJax gone, Hopefully
Hopefully traded and they get some value.
They need to resign Humphries then.
    Fantastic in the slot

Godwin opposite Evans and two great TEs.

I wonder why he doesn’t like jameis passing to him?

  66. Kalind Says:

Trade him to Pittsburgh for a conditional turkey club sammich and get him gone.

there is only one cancer and that is the selfish POS camera hound cancer93 the leader of the losing culture and the softest player in nfl history….

oh and yes the bucs will win another basement title and go 4-12 and 6-10 over the next 2 years. can’t win with glazers running the show they have proved it for two decades outside of gruden’s glory year.

  68. Pickgrin Says:

Evans, Godwin, Humphries, Watson, Bobo Wilson

Thats a more than acceptable group of WRs – especially considering we also have OJ Howard and Brate as excellent pass catching TEs….

  69. Bird Says:

Most overrated receiver in nfl? lol.

Yup. We know which joe wrote this article. Cause he didn’t play well with Jameis. Didn’t kiss his ass. Chose fitz over America.

24 career tds of over 60 yards. Just beat out jerry rice last year. Over 10,000 receiving. Will be close to 15,000 when done.

People on this site were saying how great it was that he was on the team after first 3 weeks with fitz. Fitz was his chance at putting up filthy numbers cause he still has speed that receivers dream of. And then fitz took a big dump on himself. And so ….then posters couldn’t wait for Jameis to get his shot with desean because he connected on 2 deep balls in preseason. 😂

You all are to funny. Especially joe. You are right joe. He is terrible and malcontent. So overated. Yet Jameis lives up to the hype. Wow.

Is he worth 10 mil. Hell no. You are just bashing the guy cause you take it personally that he was mean to Jameis. Meanwhile, no other players had issue with him.

  70. Jean Lafitte Says:

I guarantee when they release DJax, Mike Evans receiving totals will take a hit as well. Unless they can replace DJax with a receiver who garners the same respect from the defense like DJax does, Mike Evans will see more double teams. Called it here first. Godwin is growing but struggling to stay healthy. The wildcard is Watson but he has no reputation so he will be guarded single man. We have arguably two #1 WR’s. Is Godwin a #1?

I’m actually hoping in a way that DJax wants to stay for BA and hash out any differences, if he really has any, with Jameis. In fact, Jameis doesn’t act like there’s any rift between them at all. DJax and Jaboo may struggle hooking up but there is no doubt DJax’s presence immensely benefits Evans. It’s a new season and tampering with what works on offense is not what we need right now. Fix the o-line and the running game will get better.

  72. CC(Head) Says:

    Go get Tyrell William’s. Only 27 years old , 6’4″ deep threat who runs a 4.4 40.

    @Jean Lafitte…

Look, normally your stuff is pretty spot on. Usually. Not here though, in this thread.

“I guarantee when they release DJax, Mike Evans receiving totals will take a hit as well. Unless they can replace DJax with a receiver who garners the same respect from the defense like DJax does, Mike Evans will see more double teams. Called it here first.”

First of all, don’t use the phrase “called it here first”…or things like that, unless something so major is coming next, like Adam Schefter breaking news for free agency trade of OBJ to some other team outta nowhere….or something is about to happen. Which, you don’t drop that kinda mic.

Second of all, DID YOU WATCH 2014 with a 32 year old Vincent Jackson all washed up and crippled (basically) when Evans AND Jackson put up 1,000 yard seasons in THE SAME YEAR?!? With a 32 year old that spent himself in San Diego, and was a hard worker here, albeit washed up…..

Mike Evans will handle Evans….with OJ over the middle (hello Safeties), and any human being with a heartbeat worthy of pulling an NFL paycheck, across from him, at WR.

Don’t…say stuff like “called it here first”. That’s sad. Unless there’s a hell of a lot of thunder that EVERYONE can prove, behind it, before it, and spot on it it.

Just get back to your winning ways, pretty good stuff….prior.

ME #13 will be just fine.

    Go Bucs!

  74. Jean Lafitte Says:

Even at 32, Vincent Jackson was well respected. Do you think Godwin has earned that kind of defensive respect that they’ll roll coverage towards him leaving ME13 one on one?

Love Godwin but he has to be more consistent. So far in each of his seasons in the NFL he couldn’t hack a 16 game schedule either from his allergies or being dinged up. Major upside, but Adam Humphries is the model of consistency. He answers the bell each season and produces.
