Leftwich Returns To Tampa Bay

Former Bucs QB may return.
It seems a former Bucs quarterback may return to Tampa Bay to run the passing game.
And that certain someone is Byron Leftwich. The big-armed signal-caller from Marshall once quarterbacked the Bucs in 2009, basically keeping the seat warm until leaky, sleepy Bucs rookie quarterback Josh Freeman was ready.
But Leftwich was benched for Josh Johnson after the Bucs started 0-3 and that was the end of his Bucs days.
Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Leftwich is expected to become the passing game coordinator for the Bucs. He spent the last three years at Arizona as the Cardinals’ quarterback coach in addition to his duties last season as offensive coordinator.
Per Rapoport, as Joe also expected, Harold Goodwin is also expected to come to Tampa Bay and serve as the run game coordinator, offensive line coach.

And the reports are now confirming Bowles as DC. I’m not sure how I feel about him. His coaching record isn’t great.

Bowles has a fine, proven record as a DC most notably in preventing scoring, as Joe referenced a few days ago. And you can’t judge someone based upon how they did as a HC with the Jets. They’re about as dysfunctional as the Bucs. But, I truly believe that we just hired THE perfect HC for what this talented team of poorly coached players needs!!! And Jameis must be out of his mind with joy and excitement. I’m damned certain that Sean Payton, Dan Quinn, and Riverboat Ron aren’t exactly popping the bubbly that the Bucs just signed Arians!! BELIEVE THAT and GO BUCS!!!

No Dan Quinn isn’t popping anything that guys in desperation mode. One more bad season and he’s gone. There’s a good chance koetter will be front and center for 4 HC firings (including 1 for himself) in 6 years.

He was tough in college.. Pros not so much.. Maybe he is a better coach.
