Team Glazer, Open Thread

December 23rd, 2018

“Pay attention, Joel.”

JoeBucsFan.com will rack up 20 million pages viewed in the calendar year of 2018. (Yes, it’s 100 percent verifiable.)

And some of those clicks belong to the big guns at One Buc Palace.

Want to be heard as the Bucs fire and hire a head coach?

Let it rip in the comments section below. Rank stupidity and hate speech will be deleted.

Remember the great quote by Bucs co-chairman Joel Glazer after firing Chucky in 2009?

Here it is:

“Our fans are our stockholders. They’re what we play for — the people in our stadium and the ones that watch on TV. That’s what it’s all about: winning and how they feel about the team. If they don’t feel good about the team, then there’s something wrong. . . I think you all know the sense that’s out there. It was time for a change.”

Have your say, Tampa Bay!

    Stop hiring bums!!

  2. Mike69 Says:

    Harbaugh

  3. Cs2 Says:

Listen, don’t get bottom of the barrel coaches terrible teams fire. Draft a decent QB to replace fitzpatrick and maybe if the opportunity presents itself, could replace winston

  4. Ndog Says:

Please oh please just get a coaching staff that is not stubborn, coaches modern football and plays to our players strength. If you do that the chances of success are very good with the talent on this roster. And BTW you already have your QB in Jameis, let him be him and focus on the offensive and defensive lines.

  5. Eric in Denver Says:

Please!!! Get us back to the Playoffs!

  6. AlteredEgo Says:

The ONLY possible change should be a new GM
However I still say the best option is to keep Licht-Koetter and Jameis
one more draft and FA class
we will no whether Jameis is what everyone hoped he was and would become

Completely senseless to keep Jameis with new HC….

Licht could be the odd man out with Jameis and Licht staying thru 2019 under a new GM who would have a year to sort everything out
    .2 cents

  7. PSLBob Says:

    Ndola, I second that!

  8. ColoradoBucs Says:

Please, make it worth our money once again. Season tickets, road game tickets, and NFL Sunday Ticket. I am, and always will be, a TB Buccaneers fan. I just want to be a PROUD Buccaneers fan again.

  9. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Let’s go for a younger coach with great passion to win…..let’s get some fire at One Buc Place…..

As for GM……let’s get someone with a proven track record of success with the draft and FA…..if one exists that would be available.

    Surprise us pleasantly.

I can already predict that half the fan base will be skeptical of the selections as the should be……because the Glazer’s track record has been abysmal.

  10. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

Your QB is set with Jameis Winston.

My choice for a new head coach would be Kris Richard.

  11. Aceofaerospace Says:

First of all Joes, congratulations, well deserved. I don’t agree with everything you write, but I love reading it all anyway. Now, Mr’s Glazer, don’t f**k this up! Hire a dynamic, innovative coach, hint hint, Jim Harbaugh. Let him run the show. He is a proven commodity. Throw the vault at him. Make him an offer he can’t refuse. Get it done. Give me a reason to be excited again.

  12. Howard Cosell Says:

Lol wow Joe. Awesome bro! You are the man of grande cajones.
Props for going to the root of the problem.

Howard can only imagine that the Glazers are irritated right now but not in a good way. Howard imagines they are irritated because they actually have to think about their stupid cash cow NFL franchise and the possibility of large scale fan unrest.
As far as being irritated by the performance of the team over the last decade, Howard assumes that is the farthest thing from their minds.
Howard further assumes that they will resume the recent status quo and do nothing of real long term significance to improve the team even though the jig is up and curtain is pulled back on how the “wizards” operate.
Smart fans figured this out after Gruden was let go. That’s why the Bucs are one of the worst in the league at corporate ticket sales

  13. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Speaking for Pablo

“Pablo will go on record here: Pablo’s choice for 112 year old Tom Flores for GM and Pablo wants Ron Rivera for HC. Pablo his hopeful that Rivera will choose Juan Castillo as DC……Pablo realizes he has chosen Hispanics but Pablo insists this is merely a coincidence. Pablo believes Hason should be canned but Haboo should be retained. Pablo thinks Heff Garcia should be brought in as a back to Hamus.”

  14. Dave Says:

    Already set at-
    QB
    WR
    TE
    LBs

Some decent new CBs and Safeties.
    Some decent DL and OL

The main need is (ALWAYS) more OL and pass rushers.
    Another CB
    And RBs

    Keep Dirk and Jamies.

  15. Dewey Selmon Says:

    PLEASE CHANGE THE UNIFORMS!!!

  16. RyJo Says:

If the Glazer family has been making the head coach hiring decisions this past decade, then maybe the prudent move would be to have somebody else make the decision this time.

No offense, Glazer family, but you guys are under-performing.

Perhaps focus your search on a new general manager with the explicit understanding that the newly hired general manager can lead the search for the new head coach and make the final decision. Such power has got to be appealing to a potential general manager and should deepen the pool of candidates. Also, I find it unlikely that the newly hired general manager could do a worse job of it than the organization has been for the past decade.

Its mean, I know, but true. Search deep within yourselves, Glazer family, and you’ll know it to be true. Its like George Costanza in “The Opposite”: “If every instinct you have is wrong, then the opposite would have to be right.”

Promise me you’ll think about it, Glazer family.

  17. BucBargainBin Says:

Bring in a coaching staff that tailors it’s system to it’s players’ abilities instead of constantly harping about how much they need “their people”

You have more talent than any of these other teams that have openings.

Don’t appease us as fans with the “hot name.” Bring in the talented outside the box thinking candidate and the results will speak for themselves.

  18. RyJo Says:

    @Dewey Selmon

    A-motherf~cking-men brother!

  19. Howard Cosell Says:

I’d definitely keep Koetter and Winston and Monken and most of the players.
Firing coaches every 2 years to appease the rabble is irresponsible at best

  20. Rojas Says:

I like Eric Bieniemy, can’t go wrong with the Andy Reid coaching tree, or take Vic Fangio from Chicago and build a dominant defense, and get Zac Taylor from Rams as a OC.

  21. BucEmUp Says:

Hire Bruce Arians. Somehow convince him..Jason Licht and Buckner have both worked under him.

Also go to every game. Roam the halls of.one bug throughout the entire season. Mingle with the players. Show that you are invested with more than just the pocket book make them see you.want to win..Thats all.I got

  22. LakeLand Says:

    Bring out the broom

Give the fans a Happy New Years present

  23. BuccaneerByBirth Says:

See if Jeff Vinik is willing to buy the team from you. We like him better than you all

  24. Warrenfb12 Says:

Definitely think they need to make a play for Jim Harbaugh. But, when they are unable to get him, I think they need to go with an experienced open minded NFL head coach.

  25. Destinjohnnn Says:

Simple, just spend spend spend and put everything into building a scouting dept.
Then after that is in place and u have had 3 good drafts….then u can round out with a free agent or two.
Jameis will never be a top 10 qb
Just wasn’t born with the chops
If u can live with him being 23rd….
    Then he is your man
    Start purging the vets

  26. Loyaltotheend Says:

    Clean sweep

Dirk or Licht hasn’t done a good enough job to come back. Don’t get swindled into thinking Licht is good at his job

  27. Knack2Babbyyyy Says:

Eric Bieniemy and Kris Richard, should be the top two candidates on the Glazers HC list.

  28. AlteredEgo Says:

Patience Coach Hoppers….unless Jamesi is not resigned….it would be reckless to change coaching on him and expect anything other than chaos in Jameis’s head

  29. Texas Tony Says:

It’s simple! Hire a President of Operations that knows football

  30. Costa Rica John Says:

We have the talent on the roster to win. For whatever reason they can’t put it all together at the same time. If it’s the head coaches fault then move on from Koetter. I think Licht has done a decent job with the exceptions of a few picks. Never draft a kicker!!! I would like a head coach with experience. Someone that makes adjustments at half time when you have the lead so that you actually win the game. It seems we only do good in the second half now when we are behind and the other team becomes conservative. So when your looking at coaches find one that wins games in the second half of the game. If that’s Harbaugh or someone else bring them in. GO BUCS!!!

  31. Pooh Pooh Says:

Whatever you are doing is not working, and you have already lost a core piece of the fan base who have grown up the last ten years in witnessing total futility.

  32. Plex Says:

hand over full control to proven winner. If Rivera or Harbaugh hit the market it’s a no brainer. Don’t fall for the Mike Mccarthy trap. Dare I say make an insane offer to Dabo Swinney? whatever you do get rid of the cancer that has been plaguing this franchise for a decade.

  34. Darin Says:

Please please make sure this next one can lead men. You’re definitely not asking the right questions in the interviews. You cant hire a HC who is worse at game and time management than some 13 year olds are. Cmon guys. If you must hire someone who’s had success at it before then do it. Otherwise find a football guy to get the right answers and make the right hire. Do it

  35. University of Seffner Says:

Dear Glazer Family, I love the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with all of my heart, and I’ve been a Bucs fan all of my life. 16-0 or 0-16 the Bucs always will be my team. However, the product we’ve been seeing on the field has been horrendous to watch for the past decade. Ever since the last 4 games of the 2008 season, the product of what we’ve been seeing on the field is infuriating to see because not only are we losing on the field, our stadium is being overrun by opposing fans in RJS. It’s hard to watch on Sundays because the expectation of seeing the other team coming in and killing any energy we got. The days of 1997-2002 are definitely years we’re proud to have, but the more and more losing that’s been happening makes it seem like the glory years aras ancient as the Roman Empire. I hope y’all feel my pain and know perspective as a fan I have right now. My recommendation is that you replace the current coaching staff and front office with Jim Harbaugh. He has 3 NFC Championship appearances, with 1 Super Bowl appearance in his 4 years as an NFL Head Coach. Please give him an offer he can’t refuse. Please give him an opportunity to coach our team. Sincerely, A die hard Bucs Fan.

  36. JimmyJack Says:

Whoever’s bright idea it was to blow $10,000,000 per year for D-Jax needs to be gone.

Matter of fact they should have been gone last year. Learn the game of football. Jeez.

But look at this coaching staff. They have no developed one lineman(on either side of the ball) in three years……Unless you count Vita Vea. The whole staff needs to go, I can accept keeping Buckner.

  37. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    I have a few suggestions:

    • Change the Uniforms. Please go back to true blood red and pewter instead of reg red and charcoal.

    • Hire Jim Harbaugh as team President.

    • Keep Monken as Offensive Coordinator if you fire Koetter.

    • Fire all defensive coaches, except Buckner, but DO NOT promote Buckner. Let the new coach decide whether to keep him.

    • Replace the QB, OL and RB coaches.

    • Make the preseason games free to season ticket holders.

    • Give outdoor seating back to training camp fans…covered with fans.

    • Start saving for a retractable dome stadium!

  38. JimmyJack Says:

And for the love of God please stop hiring your own assistants cause your ass gets tight when the league shows interest.

See Dirk and Raheem hires. And now you see what happens when you retain somebody got the sake of continuity.

The process behind your decision making is rank.

  39. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    • Keep Jason Licht, unless Jim Harbaugh wants him gone.

  40. Cobraboy Says:

    Dear Team Glazer:

We appreciate how you saved the franchise from Hugh Culverhouse, kept it in Tampa and are overjoyed you’ve made a bazillion dollars on ownership. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

I personally have spent over $35,000 with you through 2007 on season tickets, parking, concessions and swag.

But please, please sell the team to Jeffry Vinick. It’s time.

  41. JimmyJack Says:

A dome stadium? Are you on pot?

  42. Knoxville Bucs Fan Says:

Good way to rack up clicks Joe&Joe…. DABO SWINNEY And I’m not a Tiger fan, I think he would be a heck of a hire… And Please do something about the uniforms… probably the worst in NFL.

  43. westernbuc Says:

    Dear Glazers,

    Two points:

    1) You don’t want to hire another coach. Fact is, you aren’t even sure you know how to find a good coach. So give Koetter and Licht one more year, clean out some of the assistants, and see if we can right this ship. There’s too much promise to tear everything down.

    2) Get rid of those god awful uniforms. Please just go back to our 2000s era. Please, if nothing else

  44. sandwichman Says:

Go get Bruce Arians or Kris Richard or Dan Williams! My top 3 in that order. But please clean house!!!

  45. Jim Says:

If you’re through with Koetter, then hire the best HC available and make it clear that he is free to choose his QB. If you keep Winston, for God’s sake draft a QB with real potential…

  46. Steve Says:

Top ranked offense with your starting quarterback being suspended 3 games to start the year. Keep kotter and duff pick up some more pieces. You’re almost there. No need to start all over!!!!

  47. Whatinthebuchappend Says:

Do everything for the right reasons please.you guys are really going to have to swallow your pride and hire the right guy to be prez of football operations then take a back seat to everything else other than writing checks ! If you guys would just hire bill cower to take over , not only would all the fans be really interested , it would be the start of better years ahead.

  48. Stu Says:

Defensive pressure the passer, consistently run the ball on offense, and a disciplined team that forces turnovers.

What Coach can you procure that shares some of those philosophies?

  49. Pitt of misery Says:

    Make a splash

  50. El_Buc941 Says:

KEEP DUFFNER AT ALL COSTS! he’s done a hell of a job and we’re a player or 2 from being an elite defense. Also if your going to get a new Head Coach get someone with a proven track record!

  51. Buccaneerscotty Says:

Hire a manager of football operations make the GM and head coach have to answer to him Stop drafting kickers Lets you do draft another quarter bag make sure hes accurate in his a good completion percentage If he can’t do it in college more than likely he can’t do it in the NFL Draft or get a good free agent running back thank you

  52. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

Did you guys like the “all reds” uniforms? I have to say that i dug ’em. But guessing i sm in the minority?

Sounds like alot of you guys are wanting to go back to the 2002 style uniforms, yes? — I could definitely go for that. I wear those era jerseys all the time.

  53. ben Says:

as a season tkt holder ..trade Winston and move on with new coach

  54. Rojas Says:

John Harbaugh is staying with he Ravens.. it was just announced. They’re going to work on an extension after the season. Scratch him off the list.

  55. Broodlaw Says:

Hire a President of Football Operations that lives, breathes and understands what it takes to run a football team, look what Yzerman did for the Lightning as a GM and that is what you should be looking for as a Team president. Licht’s tenure as GM will hinge with that hire first, he’s had some decent draft picks and FA/Offseason Trades and pickups here and there but the record speaks for itself on that, could upgrade but again up to the Team President. Koetter has to go though, guy can do wonders with an offense but that is really about it, we need someone that can handle our team in making it so we are a united force, Dungy was successful since he had that mentality to keep the team united and to install a culture that we still dream of having again. We need a leader of men as the next Coach. That should be what you target, it doesn’t matter about getting the first hire or the hot name, make the right hire like you did with Dungy, that should be your goal.

  56. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

And what about the helmets? Like the bigger logo… the smaller one… or something in between?

  57. Tbbucs3 Says:

    Fire Jason Licht!!! He’s terrible.

  58. BucEmUp Says:

Steve your smoking crack put the pipe down

  59. GMen Says:

    Merry Christmas to the Glazers!

  60. Chris Says:

Fill the seats at the stadium! Demand excellence from all players and personnel. We need a championship driven mentality. Get rid of all cancerous players and be more visible in terms of home games and interact with the fans. Hire a coach that will demand physicality. We are a team and team that needs a good defense. Have a coach focus on the fundamentals aka defense and running the football which comes down to the line of scrimmage. The fans need a winner and will come back to the game. I hate seeing road fans. We need a home field advantage and a team. Take your time picking the right coach but use people who know the x and o of football to help decide. First and foremost we need to start beating our division rivals more consistently. Find a coach that can develop players and only bring in hard working guys. This team needs a makeover but we can’t have people ok with mediocrity or just being in the conversation for playoffs. We need a real contender. I love this team so much and it pains me each day to see how we perform. Make me proud as a fan again. PLEASE

  61. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

Thanx Rojas for the John Harbaugh update. Soooo… he is off the list.

And ben…. cmon man. JW can still win you over. I can feel it.

  62. Tbbucs3 Says:

Bonzai, You nailed 2 of your 9 suggestions, I agree to make pre season games free to season pass holders and the training camp seats. The rest need work. Jim Harbaugh as team president? Cmon man.

  63. Mort Says:

Keep Licht. I’m on the fence with Koetter. I believe in him, but he needs to be more involved in the entire team, not just the offense. Take ownership of problems and get involved.

  64. Tbbucs3 Says:

And people commenting, the Glazers do not control whether or not Winston is the QB of the future. They could if they wanted too, but they are not football people.

  65. tmaxcon Says:

you guys are hilarious…. stormy daniels is more likely to date the pope than the glazers do the right thing. worst job in sports. you are talking like anyone wants this job or any job with a small market minor league franchise.

  66. Joe In Michigan Says:

Maybe I’m biased because he was my favorite player, and was in Tampa during our glory years…How about Derrick Brooks as team president? He could keep Licht if he wanted to, or replace him if it’s in the best interests of the team. I don’t know which coach would be the best for us, but there’s plenty of good options.

  67. Todd Says:

Pretty much I have no faith in this organization anymore! We keep hiring bad coaches and a bad general manager that has built what in 5 seasons now ? Our job is not attractive to land a legit coach.

  68. Not there yet Says:

Yea basically stop hiring losers. And at the same time stop thinking you know what coaches are best for the head coach you hire. I remember the store about how Raheem wanted Atlanta’s now head coach as his d coordinator. I remember not wanting to hire someone as d coordinator from the lions because the team had just went 0-16. Either butt out or get a VP of operations, the failure starts with you since you hire the head coach. And no more rank amateurs, despite what this team has shown on the field you have a contender, just allow the new coach to get rid of the decade long losers

It’s timw for a new voice at front office, head coach and in the locker room. Time to move on and stop building around loser players because they Had pro bowls. Start over with player leadership.

  69. Jonathan Lipnicki Says:

With brother John now off the potential list…I say Jim Harbaugh. He was great for both Alex Smith’s and Kapernick’s careers…he’s a proven winner and fiery…something this team needs.

  70. Chris Cotten Says:

Richard from the “girls”, Harbaugh from UM, or Lincoln Riley from OU

  71. Tbbucs3 Says:

We have a general manager who has had 5 years to build a defense and last week against the Ravens we trotted out there with Adams, Josh Shaw, Javieon Elliot, and Jordon Whitehead in the secondary.

  72. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

New uniforms is a must! These eye sores need to die with the losing culture of this team! Let the fans vote and/or fire whoever the heck approved the last uniforms.
Bring in a coach that sets the standard at excellence for this team. Bring in a coach that players will play their bits off for.
Hire a coach with a plan.
Hire a coach that can coach in the new modern NFL.
Talk you Kris Richard THIS WEEKEND while you are in Dallas.
If that fails, bring in a coach with a proven track record like Jim Harbaugh, Jon Harbaugh, Ron Rivera.
If you guys can’t make this decision hire someone who can! Like a Tom Coughlin for team president.
Spare no expense on coaches. If it takes a Gruden contract to get your guy, do it!
Just bring us back to respectability please! I have never been so embarrassed to be a Bucs fan. Schiano MRSA and freeman’s meltdown, the Lovie blowouts, the Dirk defenses.
Just bring us back to being proud of our team!
If you can’t do this, step aside!
    Can’t wait for next year.

  73. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    JimmyJack Says
“A dome stadium? Are you on pot?”

If they want games to sell out, they need one. Between the heat and rain, more and more people are not attending games. A controlled environment is the way to go.

  74. Pete O'Connor Says:

    Dear Glazer Family,
Firstly, thanks for our Buccaneers, we do appreciate them. However, as Dewey Selmon stated above please get rid of these horrid uniforms and go back to our Super Bowl uniforms.
Secondly, please hire a President of Football Operations, please step back from that role and let a football guy run the team. In my humble opinion, please hire (at all costs) Tony Dungy for this role.
Thirdly, get a proven GM, proven aggressive Head Coach, and invest heavily in defense. Defense wins Championships.

    Thanks for your time.

  75. Richard Says:

Sell the team immediately. Your track record of failure speaks for itself.

  76. JimmyJack Says:

Keep Duffner? His defense just got walked on top of last week. Just because we are not Good awful doesn’t mean he’s a great DC.

Let’s just see what Dallas does to us now that they saw our Bal game.

  77. JimmyJack Says:

Bonzai the heat is our greatest advantage. Any fan whining about it is being selfish. They are not supporting the greater good.

But there are plenty of Floridans who have no problems getting loud in a boiling stadium. We live for that s***.

If you think the heat detracts fans you must never have been when we fielded a competitive team.

  78. Mikiebucsfan76 Says:

yes Alaskan A S love those choices however, just read that John Harbaugh is staying with the Ravens. Jim Harbaugh not sold on but Kris Richards I think would be a good choice or B Arians would be a good choice to bring in and hope he bring in some very good assistants that could move right into the HC job once Arians retire for good, he is in his late 60.s. my point is, let Arians re-build the respect for this team and keep it going for some years with one of his assistants. I wouldn’t mind seeing a Arians K Richards combo

  79. WillieG Says:

Keep Koetter. Let him draft the QB that HE wants. Wasn’t he opposed to drafting JW? What if in the discussions he predicted everything that has happened?

I’d give him 2 more years with a new QB, a new defensive coordinator and more say on draft day. It’s not fair to judge him on the bad decisions made by others. Yes, hers made mistakes but most were made by others (Lovie, Licht, Glazers).

This is not the year to be searching for a new head coach.

  80. Troy Says:

I don’t care who the Glazers hire because until they get the stench of failure and losing out of the building nothing is going to change. Too many people there, from the GM down, accept losing. Frankly, most of the people need to be replaced. There has to be a change organizationally from top to bottom. They need to get a winning culture in place from the top down.

  81. JimmyJack Says:

That’s ludicrous WillieG…….Dirk didn’t have to take this job and he was well on his way to getting a HC gig when he took it.

And when he took the job he did so knowing who his QB was. Guaranteed he told the Glazers he could provide results with Winston.

  82. Bradley Clement Says:

Michael Lombardi and then get out of the way please. At least he knows what it should look like.

  83. JimmyJack Says:

The organization had their chance to move on from Winston in the last draft when they had a Top 10 pick with 5 QBs drafted in Round 1.

There is no second chances at this point. If their plan was to move on they screwed it up royally. If then didn’t have a plan beyond 2018 they are beyond helpless.

Either case is grounds for dismissal as is their results.

  84. Christopher Schiefen Says:

Even if there’s no football-centric president that’s hired, please hire a GM, and let him hire the coach. The last time that *really* happened was when Rich McKay hired Tony Dungy. Enough forced shotgun weddings, please.

  85. Easy Says:

Sell the team and move it out of Florida. Maybe here in Texas. Floridians don’t need to suffer anymore.

  86. Mikiebucsfan76 Says:

Sorry WillieG, Koetter is gone. Remember Koetter went 9-7 in his first year with less talent on the team. Now he has a bit more talent and the team has really regressed. The Bucs have to make a move this off season. the stands are half empty for home games.

  87. Dooshlarue Says:

A lot of good ideas so far and a few bad ones.
    Tough call for the Glazers.
I think Rivera would be good. He’s always had a solid DL, running game and the Panthers seem to draft pretty well, although I don’t know how much say he has in that.
I would keep Monken, Duffner and Buckner and sh!tcan the rest of the coaching staff.
I would also overhaul the scouting and training departments.
I would keep Jameis for now and hire a real QB coach.
President of Operations would be nice but that depends on if they keep Licht or not.

And as others, including myself have stated many times…….
    Change the freaking uniforms!!!!!
They don’t have to be replicas of the SB team, but God dam, at least make us look respectable.

  88. BucGator Says:

Completely agree with Christopher. Hire a proven leader and let him build the team in his vision.

  89. ATLBuc Says:

Jameis Winston is about the same as he was coming into the league. Despite all of his hard work during the offseason a player cannot developed himself adequately. If I have one major gripe with the coaching staff it’s their inability to coach players up. I think Litch has done a decent job in the drafts but the coaching staff is not getting the best out of them. Under Duffner, every one on the defense looked better, played with more confidence and more aggressively.
Dynasties are built through the draft BUT, they must be coached up. Find coaches who are teachers as well as motivators

  90. Wesley Says:

First fire Licht then hire a great football mind to be in charge of all operations. Oh and RJS needs shade for us regular folks.

  91. Not Americas QB Says:

    Fire Jason Licht First !

  93. Pierce Says:

I hate this team. I’m tired of getting excited year in and year out rooting for a team that continues to be crap. I’m so over it. And it all starts at the top. The Glazers have made mistake after mistake (hiring Raheem at the last minute then not spending a penny during his tenure, hiring Greg Schiano (wtf was that???) hiring Lovie and not doing their homework). This organization sucks and it’s because of ownership.
I’ll always root for this f**in’ team, but I’m tired of losing.
Oh and Michael Clayton sucks! Why does the Bucs network have such a waste of space on the radio. He should have been OL instead of WR and instead of being a DJ. It goes to show how mismanaged this entire franchise is.
It’s a Bucs life and I’m getting ‘see’ sick.

  94. EG Buc Fan Says:

Glazers please find us a GM that knows how to build a team and a coach that brings toughness. Also, a coaching staff that knows modern football and does not use outdated schemes. Some one who is aggressive. Thank you

What I’ve found in business is..If you want a sucessful business and don’t really know a lot of the ends and out of that business, You hire advisors or experts in that field to assist you. Its Sorta apparent these Glazers do not know how to put together solid Football Mngt. So who helps them? Anybody? I’m sure nobody helps with the profits they make. I’m concerned the Glazers are not all in on bringing a winning organization to this Buc Football brand. Hire good people to assist you Glazers. Give us longtime Buc fans something to be proud of. WE ARE SICK OF LOSING GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  97. HolyBuc Says:

    Fire Licht and Koetter!

    Hire: Will McClay for GM

    Hire: Kris Richard for HC

Get out of their way and let them build a team.

I have seen the rumor of Glazers going after a team President which I’m for if it’s the right guy and he has total control. I can’t think of any candidates, (Dungy has said repeatedly he has no interest) anyone have any ideas on a President?

The fan base deserves better. Please clean house, hire qualified and knowledgeable football people, and absolve yourselves from the hiring process for a new head coach. Let the football people handle it.

    Thank you.

  103. Jerry Jones Says:

Just please be honest with yourselves Glazer’s about this franchise and how passionate you are about football and winning. If you have any doubts bring in someone (like a Tom Coughlin) to help you and this franchise.

When your team/business is this bad for this long you hire consultants to help right the ship, so be humble Glazers because you are not gaining fans every day but you are losing fans every day.

  104. Bradentonbuc Says:

Please lower your prices. I was a season ticket holder for the 2015 season and had such a good time. I appreciate the reinvestment into RayJay but those ticket prices should not have gone up. The team had just drafted Winston and at the time it really felt like the price hike was in relation to a new era that hasn’t yet arrived. The reason why the seats are empty is because of the product. The players feel this emptiness. Bring the fans in so on 3rd downs we can come together and make RayJay rock. It can be a place where buc players don’t go just to collect a paycheck. ManU makes enough money to compensate for the reinvestment into RayJay. Lower your prices for the product that is put out there

  105. Dooshlarue Says:

Does that automatically translate to he can be the president of an NFL football team. It’s just a name it’s laughable.

  109. cmurda Says:

It’s not worth stating the obvious but I will anyway. Dirk needs to go. I’m somewhat on the fence about Licht. There’s been good there and bad. It’s hard to fully judge the talent until I see a competent coaching staff. There were far too many losses as a result of Dirk and staff being outcoached for me to be convinced that the talent on the field was lacking. I think we should be thinking defensively with the next Head Coach. Take a look at the bubble teams and playoff teams in the NFC. They all have at least a pretty good defense. We already have a solid offense. We are a 5 win team because of defense.

  110. SchwiftyBuc Says:

    Tbbucs3

Who has evaluated more film than Peyton Manning? He was known as one of the most cerebral QB’s to ever play the game. And he’s been around greatness his entire life and knows what it takes to build a winner.

If Peyton Manning wanted to, I have no doubt he could follow in the footsteps of his fellow Denver Bronco SB winner John Elway and become a Championship caliber President.

  111. JimmyJack Says:

Go to any elementary, middle or High School and ask students what they think of the Buccaneers. Most will either laugh or reply “the Bucs suck”.

You have done nothing but alienate potential fans with you embarrassing teams. Pretty soon your entire fanbase will be a bunch of grumpy old men screaming obscenities at your kickers. Men so grumpy and miserable that the outside world will want nothing to do with us. The effects of this team will be so bad that we won’t even get laid no more…….Basically we will all turn into tmax if we have to keep enduring this for decades.

  119. tmaxcon Says:

uniforms and pricing have nothing to do with the bucs sucking up the nfl. if you can’t afford a nfl game you should not have had kids, married better or stayed in school and got real job. although ugly the uniforms are not the reason the bucs suck.

  120. BrianBucs Says:

If I had the Glazers’ ears for a minute, I would tell them that they have hired the wrong people.
Even though I think that Jason Licht is a good man, he has failed as GM.
His draft choices have been hit or miss and in free agency he has tried to make up for his draft day misses. His record now in his 5th year is 27- 51 which is highly unacceptable. His team looks to be moving backwards instead of forward.
One of Licht’s biggest mistakes and failures was the squandering of the #1 pick in the draft on Jameis Winston. Winston came out of college with red flags concerning his off field behavior and concerns about his turnovers and flaws on the field. Both of which have come into fruition as a Buc, as he has shown that he can’t be trusted on or off the field. He has not improved or progressed and is just average at best. I know you are very concerned about the very low attendance at home games. The vast majority of Bucs fans don’t want him here and will not pay the ticket prices to see him play. As long as Winston is the starting QB here the home crowds will continue to dwindle. Also, it was an insult and slap in the face of most Bucs fans when you decided to keep Winston on the roster after the details and statement of his suspension from the NFL were released. I know that Jason Licht has based his career with the team on making Winston a successful, championship winning franchise QB, however both have failed and both need to go.
As far as Coach Koetter goes, he has done his best. However, he has not been able to put a winning team on the field wit the players that Licht has given him. There have been injuries, but every team has them. Having to totally change your plan for the season due to the opening three game suspension by your starting QB was very difficult for him. However. They came out of that period with two unexpected wins. And things have went downhill from there. Koetter’ s offensive scheme may be a little outdated but he stuck with it. A big name coach may bring a few folks back into the seats, or a new young innovative offensive coach may bring some excitement. However, some qualified head coaching candidates may look elsewhere if forced to play Winston as their starting QB.
A large number of longtime, devoted Bucs fans have lost interest because of disappointment and frustration. However, they would love to come back into the fold if the Bucs could be a winner again with the right people, wanting to relive the glory days of Alstott, Barber, Lunch, Sapp, Barber and the rest. We all hope that you, the Glazer Family, are willing to make the aggressive, wholesale changes that are needed to make this all happen. Thank You

  121. GMen Says:

Dear Santa Glazer, I know that we have been a very naughty fan base this year, but this is what we would like for Christmas:

    12 wins this season
    11 good defenders
    #10 to get re-signed
    9 dale mabry strip clubs
8 games at home (not 7)
    7 made extra points
    6 scores per game
5 super bowl rings (yes I know)
    4 non-flag calling refs
    #3 to quit throwing turnovers
    2 prime time games
And ONE QB who can keep his hands to himselfffffff.

  122. Jeagan1999 Says:

We will be in a good position to draft another QB this year…drafting somewhere in the top 5 – 10 most likely. I don’t know if Winston is the answer or not long term, but I would pick up his 5th year option AND draft another top young QB…like Haskins from OSU. If Jameis gets his stuff together on the field, and has no further lapses of character off it, then you can always trade the guy you draft down the road. But if Jameis continues to perform like the 20th – 25th best starting QB in the league (which he basically is at the moment), or has any more “off-field issues” come to light, you can cut ties and move on!

The rest of the draft should be focused on O-line and depth on defense. Trade for, or sign a good free agent, RB in the off season!

  123. tmaxcon Says:

no one calls mediocrity glory days like low standard bucfan. you people absolutely insane with the rewriting of the history…. dungy the clowns bucs were pretenders NEVER contenders. I am embarrassed for those who consider 500 football with absolutely ZERO chance in postseason glory years. only in a mentally weak trophy for all society does failure get rewarded with glory day labels.

go back and watch dungy the clowns offenses… dungy the clowns’ offenses made lovie the dummy’s defenses look like the steel curtain. selective memory amongst the low standard ones is at an epidemic proportion.

  124. Bucko40 Says:

Have you finally figured out what a collasall mistake drafted Jameis Winston was? He lied to your face in the predraft process about not having anymore offfield issues. He lied again about abusing a woman. Winston hasn’t progressed! Have you figured out it’s time to move on? Hopefully yes.

  125. Tbbucs3 Says:

I have no doubt that Peyton Manning can break down two quarterbacks like few can. That video tells me he has potential to be on OC not a president. Two different jobs.

  126. Max Says:

Give control of the team to only one sibling or just sell it.

  127. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

So John Lynch is more qualified to be in the front office than Peyton Manning?
    …Right.
Peyton is one of the most dedicated and smart players I have ever heard of. His preparation and ability to find weaknesses and exploit them were next to none. I think he is just one of those dudes that would be successful in anything he puts his giant mind to.

  128. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

Also, to the Glazers: Jameis Winston is one of the few reasons to be hopeful about this team. The loud minority would have you think otherwise but just because they stand on their soap boxes doesn’t mean they represent my opinion or the vast majority of fans that love this team.
I am not a FSU fan, I am a BUCS fan.
You fans can’t call Dirk incompetent and then say Jameis has to go. Wouldn’t Jameis’ struggles be on the incompetent one? You can’t have it both ways.
Dirk goes, Licht goes, Jameis stays and gets fairly evaluated by the next coaching staff. If we suck, fine, we will be in line for drafting his replacement. If we win, even better.

  129. Deminion Says:

Clean management!!! Bring in Jim Harbaugh or Chris Petersen

  130. Lamarcus Says:

    Glazer’s

You have a top 5 Qb on your hands get a guy that knows how to at least develop the players. All players are stagnant including ME13. I believed in Koetter until he and his staff was retained and those said coaches came out to the public and blamed the players. Ok. So what’s happening now? If the players choose to suck that means they are still choosing to suck. But the players do try. Its a coaches coach and players play system and it’s taking literally. It’s start at top(coaching) to put these talented players in the best position. I don’t believe that’s has happened. Coaches put alotta pressure on the players and call them out to the media. These are young players. Build on these players and get a staff who’s philosophy is in development.

  131. KYbucFan Says:

Fire everyone, clean slate. Bring in someone to be head of football operations. Someone who has a wealth of knowledge about football and are a forward thinker.
Give him total control of the team. All you guys need to do is cut checks, focus on Man U, and hopefully reap the benefits of that persons good decisions.

  132. jjbucfan Says:

Please bring back the creamsicles! That is who we are, we should never forget where we came from! Also, don’t listen to the morons, Jameis will be fine in a different offensive scheme that is built for him. Thanks for the support you all do in our community.

  133. AlanBucsfan Says:

All of the winning teams have invested high draft picks ( 1st and 2nd round ) into offensive line and defensive line. Colts, Saints, Chiefs, Cowboys, Chargers, Ravens, Steelers, Titans all have 1st and 2nd rd picks anchoring offensive line.

With exception of McCoy, Vea and Smith, Bucs have not done this.
They hit on Marpet in 3rd. That’s about it for later rounds.

Last week’s loss is a prime example- the DL could not stop run in 2nd half, they had 0 qb pressures and OLine could do nothing in 2nd half – just 3 and out.

  134. Joe Blahak Says:

Orange unis, a coaching staff that doesn’t get out coached, players committed to football, a QB to replace Winston, an Under Tackle replacing McCoy and a frickin kicker!

  135. Im tired and 87 is right Says:

Bring in a coach that holds his team accountable for their actions on the field. I want a team that shows heart and passion on the field. I am a season ticket holder who screams for this team because I care about being great, and not the laughing stock of the NFL. Maybe it means something to me deeper like being the underdog in the fight. As a fanbase I think we care more then the players. It shouldn’t be that way. The players say they care and put in all the effort but why is it on game day they can’t even accomplish football one o one? Guys tackling air and falling to their knees like they have never hit anybody in their lives. Kickers who act like they are just learning how to kick. WRs who just drop passes when last I heard their job is to just catch the damn ball. Players who think they are bigger then the game itself. We do not want to hear the excuses, talk excuses, nor be excuses. We want results and it starts and ends on the field. You want to be great then let these guys all know the meaning of accountability. It starts with all of us understanding we have to be the best at what we do. Because there is no other option.

  136. Im tired and 87 is right Says:

One other note Jameis is a player who shows so much talent and passion for the game that he is screaming for help. Coming from someone who has played the game I respect him for truely caring about the game. We need a coach who will challenge Winston and believe in him. I quickly realized he was screaming for help and tuned Koetter out after that meeting they had in hard knocks two seasons ago.. Koetter did no even have an answer for young Jameis. Never give up!

  137. Johnny Says:

Get Tony Dungy to help, hopefully as team president, or at least make him senior advisor, a big part of evaluations and hiring / firings. The Glazers aren’t bad people and they aren’t stupid. Their choices just haven’t worked since 2002. Let’s get a highly respected football guy who can reinvigorate the team’s connection with the community, and let him put his steady hands on the wheel. He can decide, or help decide, what to do with Jameis, Koetter, and Licht. And if they must be replaced, he can direct or at least help in the search for their replacement(s). I like Dungy for this role, and I think he might accept it.

  138. Mike Evans Goat Says:

    Alan
Marpet was a 2nd rounder. Same year as Smith

  139. D1 Says:

    I’m tired,

We need a coach that trusts, trust is the word you’re looking for, winston. Challenging Winston is interesting , I think He already has of challenge to master before adding to his plate.

    The question I have is,;
a new coach comes in day 1, why would he trust jameis? I’m not talking about the dog and pony show put on for the media, I mean does a coach restore or reset the trust button give winston a clean slate or does he come in wary and suspicious and force winston to earn it back little by little.

Since there’s no shortage of people on this site who know winston has one issue, coaching., Fix that and with his talent level , its superbowl MVP with a stop in canton.
How does a coach start day 1 with JW? Which will work best

  140. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

The more I think about it, if they cannot get Jim Harbaugh, and they fire Koetter, then this is the set up I prefer:

    HC Mike McCarthy
    OC Todd Monken
    DC Rod Marinelli

Then replace the rest of the defensive staff, except Buckner, and replace the OL and RB coaches.

I think Jerry Jones will move on from Rod Marinelli (who I think is in his last contract year, or next to last) and will promote Kris Richard to DC in order to get him to stay.

I do not feel Kris Richard should be our next head coach. He’s no different than Mike Smith after his first year. H is only year as a DC he had the worst passing defense in the league, got canned and then seems to have one good year in Dallas. Remind you of anyone named Mike Smith? Who had a decent first year and was the talk of the town?

Stop looking at one year wonders.

  141. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Team President: Tony Dungy
    GM Jason Licht
    HC Mike McCarthy
    OC Todd Monken
    DC Rod Marinelli

  142. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

Bonzai again you are talking on things you know nothing about. Look beyond the stats man. Do your research on Kris Richard, watch how he coaches, watch his mentality, his passion. .Him and Mike Smith could not be any more different in personality or philosophy. And a one year wonder at 39 is much different than a 60 year old. The guy has plenty of football ahead of him.
At least do a little digging.
I promise it will take less time than one of your posts.

  143. BrianBucs Says:

The NFL, in its statement regarding Winston’s suspension said that if he violates it’s personal conduct policy once more that he would more than likely face an indefinite suspension.
With Winston’s behavioral history it’s a matter of when, not if.
That is a very dangerous basket to put all of your eggs into and a very big risk to take for a QB that is only average at best and looks and plays more like a backup.
Best to move on and get a QB that you can build on and around, and can be the true future and face of your franchise.

  144. T REX Says:

Dear Glazers, fire yourselves. Nice job on Winston. LOL. That pick bombed. Sell the team.

  145. Pete I Says:

You will net over a billion in cap gains if you sell the team. DO IT! After all, isn’t profit a better measure of success than winning games in a Glazer’s world?

  151. Tbbucs3 Says:

    Lincoln Riley for HC!

  152. Buc1987 Says:

Please sell the team to anyone not named Glazer.

  153. MTM Says:

Hire a president of operations who actually knows how to build a team. Let him hire a GM and coach.

  154. “That guy” Says:

The only person in the coaching staff I think should be kept is duffner. He’s showed a lot of promise as def coordinator.

I think the whole vertical offense scheme is killing this team. Once the opposing def coordinator trusts the back end of his defense it’s basically game over for our offense. I would like consistency on offense, and for this I think Koetter has to go.

Hard to say if Winston will ever develope into a starting QB. He plays like an all star at times, but completely implodes with his desicion making when it’s a close game when we need…. field goals. He goes for the throat instead and this is were I see the majority of turnovers and/or not getting the few yards we need to ensure an easy kick for the FG.

  155. Kalind Says:

I would suggest hiring coaches who are at their core NOT STUBBORN. The last 3 have declared they are going to do it their way come hell or high water. That’s TERRRRRRIBLE Leadership. Coaches and supervisors both need to adapt to their work force as much or more than the workforce to the management. Koetter sank because he wouldn’t let Mike Smith go. Despite a mountain of evidence, he continued with the worst option. Compounding that with the fitzmess…he is simply too stubborn.

My other suggestion is to hire a game management coordinator. Someone who can work the clock and/or train the coaches to manage the time to our advantage. The great coaches play the clock management game for the ENTIRE GAME (crazy right?), not just the last 2 min of the half.

Attack the draft. This concept of letting the draft come to you…it’s not working. Attack it. Make uncomfortable trades to maximize capital (McCoy? David? Jackson? Curry? Spence, RJones? Hargreaves?) draft with the idea of moving around up or down to increase value. We took both Spence and Jones and neither of them fit our system. Why was that??? Some of us knew those were busts immediately.

Can I also ask you guys to PLEASE take a heavier hand with the league office? Our team gets hosed by the officials ROUTINELY!!!! I’d love to see you guys blast Goodell or the officials once and awhile when they really target our team. (Mike Evans? Disparity of holding calls? Late hits on Jameis etc) it’s an epidemic, and our team suffers from you guys not kicking some a$$ every once and awhile.

    Thanks for reading!

  156. “That guy” Says:

    P.s.

I have noticed that none of our LB can cover, or play in the A and B gaps on gut runs. Just watch the film. Duffner has done a great job of using them to their strengths(blitzing and using them as outside rushers) but to have a consistent defense that position group needs to be the most well rounded of any other position group on offense or defense. They also completely bite on play action(because they cannot stuff runs in the A/B gaps). This problem desperately needs to be addressed.

  157. Neal Says:

STOP LISTENING TO THE FANS. Most of us don’t know what we are talking about, and we rely strictly on emotions when making decisions. Get a “football brain trust” together (Dungy, Brooks, Barber, Alstott, etc people the fans trust) to make decisions going forward.

  168. gp Says:

    Glazer family,
In my opinion, Licht has done a passing job, Koetter has developed an explosive offense, and Duffner has revitalized a depleted defense.
I would be agreeable with keeping all three but that doesn’t mean we don’t need some changes.
Most of the position coaches with one or two possible exceptions, are not doing their jobs well and need to be either replaced or “motivated”.
Reportedly, the next draft is heavily weighted towards the trenches. This is good for us because this is our greatest weakness talent wise. To this point, I would advise Licht to trade some of our “dead weight” for more picks and build our OL and DL. Wasting an early pick on any other position would be advised against.

    Now to the big issue

In the past three years it has been obvious (at least to me) that we have approached every game with the same game plan.

I say again… The same game plan.

There have been few adjustments if any for each individual and different opponent. And seemingly no adjustments at all in game.

To remedy this I would like to see someone with game planning skills hired as an “assistant” head coach with the primary duty of prepping the team for the next opponent.
I have seen Peyton Manning’s name show up in this thread several times and think he would be a perfect fit for this “new” position. If he is inclined to seek a coaching career to follow his playing career, this would be a fast track path to a head coaching gig for him.

In short, In my humble opinion, no changes equals same or worse results. A clean sweep, on the other hand, means up to five years or more of rebuild (again). We’ve been rebuilding (arguably) since 2003 and many/most fans are getting a little tired of it.
We need some continuity for a change, just with a few “Little” tweaks.

    Thank you for your consideration
    GP

    Glazers,

After having met you twice before games it is apparent you care about this team and from your contributions to the community you care about the area. This community would not be what it is without your museums, and outreach to schools and organizations. With that being said PLEASE hire someone to run the football operations so you can focus more on what your family has succeded at and give our team a solid chance of success.

With that here is a solid list of actions that would be beneficial to this team.

    * Change the uniforms. Anything has to be better than what we currently have.
    * Find a solid, young coach who is a great teacher and focused on details. Even though they are pros there is always something to learn. (I’m not going to pretend that I know who is bettet than the next without ever talking to the candidate)
    * Trade or release GMC his time has passed and hasn’t really contributed much since being here. He has the best TE playing mext to him and as a result one of his worst seasons. Not living up to the contract.
    * Demand whoever you bring on to hire a legit QB coach. How a QA coach from at the time a floundering Tennessee program is qualified to be an NFL QB coach is beyond me.
    * Install bigger, better seats in the stadium. You may lose out of the number of seats in the stadium but we never sellout as is. Plus I am sure you can find a way to sell tickets to other areas to make up for the loss.

  170. PSK Buc Fan Says:

I want someone who will be the head coach, the coach of the whole team. We need to get th is search going so there is time to hire a staff. I don’t know who should be hired, but our two most successful coaches were young and driven. Find someone with passion, with a plan. If Joh Harbaugh or Mike Tomlin are available maybe. Get a young passion, driven guy to reshape this organization. Go Bucs!

  171. View from 132 Says:

Burn the digital clock uniforms. Awful.
Let Dirk and Jameis have one last year together.
Trade GMC and Lavonte while they have value.
Burn the whole ship if it fails (2nd round of the playoffs or bust, no 8-8 wild cards).

  172. StoutGospel Says:

Team Glazer….landing John Harbaugh would certainly make this non-season ticket holder purchase a game day ticket in 2019, and there certainly would be more like me out there!

JOHN Harbaugh would bring the kind of organizational credibility that Team Glazer should definitely strive for and absolutely pursue, especially in light of the way that current Bucs roster and management personnel are constructed.

ANYONE… is available, for a price. I suspect, in unison with how PFT interpreted the JOHN Harbaugh farce of announcement as well, that Ravens wanted to start driving up the bidding war now, should they also need to quickly find their subsequent replacement.

  173. D1QB Says:

The Bucs sign Harbaugh and a week later the Panthers sign Urban Meyer!

  174. BuccaneEric75 Says:

We can argue about this coach and that coach. When the new coach is hired fans will be happy and fans will be mad. Whatever the name is, we won’t know if it’s the right choice. Let’s not get hung up on not getting the guy you want. Let’s go in with an open mind. And can we stop complaining about the Glazers when we don’t hire a coach that “we” want, or stop complaining about the GM when we don’t sign a free-agent that we want. It’s a two-way street, and the player and/or Coach has to want to come here. It doesn’t mean they weren’t offered a job.

  175. Tom S. Says:

The Glazers should’ve fired Licht is when he was 22-42. Now he’s 27-51 with a 5th straight season without the playoffs, a very questionable 2018 NFL Draft and an absolutely terrible three second round picks.

Whether it’s George Paton, Joe Douglas or Nick Caserio there are talented GM candidates out there who would have never traded multiple picks to draft an awful kicker in the second round or perpetually miss and overpay free agents. Look at how successful Jon Robinson has been since he left.

  176. Wesley Says:

For god sake don’t listen to us.

  177. Noel Says:

Glazers need to get this thing right now, the Lighting and Rays are stealing all the thunder along with ticket sales. Clean house, enough is enough!

  178. AlteredEgo Says:

    Wesley…… LOL…

  179. BrianBucs Says:

    Would also like to tell the Glazers;

If you keep on doing what you are doing, you keep on getting what you are getting.

  180. BrianBucs Says:

And, if you do decide to retain Coach Koetter, get him the QB that he really does want, Nick Foles

  181. Roscoe The Pirate Says:

    Hello Glazer Family, Merry Christmas.

    Please change the uniforms.

Mr Koetter’s offense has performed well, but defense needs to be better managed.

Perhaps hire another executive level above Koetter to oversee the defensive improvement and total football operations, keep Koetter and Winston for another year.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do, GO BUCS!

  182. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    JimmyJack Says
“Bonzai the heat is our greatest advantage.”

That is a claim that has never once proven out to be true. The reality is that other teams play just as well in the heat, and the Bucs feel it too.

  183. Shamefulbucfan Says:

Hire bill parcels as president of football operations grantee he turns this dumpster fire around

  184. Mike Johnson Says:

Buc Bonzai..I like your thinking on the mngt and coaching tree you made there. Pretty impressive. But man..I got no faith in these Glazers. Hiring Dungy in some capacity right out of the gate would be a great start though.

  185. Buc407 Says:

Bring back a physical defensive team and mindset

  186. Buc407 Says:

    And change the uniforms

  187. '79Defense Says:

As others have said, please, please, change the uniforms back to the previous ones. You hit it out of the park with those. Thanks for your efforts, but I’m just not sure how the current ones won approval and was seen as an improvement.

I truly believe that a switch back to the old ones would be incredibly well received by the fans and very much appreciated.

  188. Pickgrin Says:

    1. Change uniforms – they suck and you know it.
    2. Keep Licht – Fire Koetter – Find and Hire a true ‘leader of men’ for new HC – Experienced but not old.
    3. Sign Winston to a 4-5 year deal while you still have the negotiating advantage
    4. Insist that GM Licht focus on drafting help for OL and DL the next 2 years

  189. SchwiftyBuc Says:

Pick. Licht has to go. Too many misses with premium picks. To many impact players at positions of need that were passed up on in favor of bums. Too many malcontents and check cashers signed in Free Agency. I certainly believe he’s a far better GM than Dominik, but that’s no reason to keep him around.

  190. Usedtocould Says:

Please make the oline top 5 in the league. Look at who we’re playing today. Dak is mediocre at best. But when he has ten + seconds to throw he’s a hall of famer. Imagine how your number one overall pick would do with half the time. Thank you for your concern. Merry Christmas joe.

  191. BucsFanSince1976 Says:

Bring back Tony Dungy as President of Football Operations with total control of everything. Father Dungy will rebuild this Hot Mess of a franchise. Open up your wallet and get it right for once Joel and Bryan.

  192. HolyBuc Says:

Fire Jason Licht and Dirk Koetter!

It’s going to take a lot of money but hire Will McClay for GM.

Let McClay hire the coach hopefully Kris Richard who McClay got familiar with this year.

  193. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Joe…a good poll to consider: Should we keel the current costumes or return the the pre ious uniforms?

  194. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Sheesh, my tablet hacked up that post. Poll should have been

“Should we keep the current costumes or return the the previous uniforms?”

  195. Owlykat Says:

Koetter and Warhop both need to be fired. I have no problem with retaining Licht to see if he can entice Arians out of retirement who should keep Buckner and decide the rest of the Assistant Coaches. Keep Jameis and Fritz both. Fritz is needed to come in to handle red zone plays and be the backup.

  196. John Says:

    Get rid of Winston

  197. Bolt Isle Says:

I never cease to be amazed at the number of “fans” that come on here and act as if they are speaking for the “vast majority” in wanting Jameis gone. I’d say it’s a 50/50 deal. Just a very vocal small group that won’t be happy unless he’s gone.
Facts are facts and has been pointed out on this website, his numbers are on par with several recent high pick QB’s. If he had a halfway decent D instead of arguably the franchise’s worst the past couple years, this talk would be much less. Finally got a good QB who wants to be in Tampa, and we have a group wanting to run him off.
The first two games were a mirage quarterbacked by a guy that got certain fans excited when ignoring the fact he was on his 8th team for a reason.
Too many pontificators and moral judges with personal agendas for whatever reason. He made a horrendous mistake, paid his price and has settled it with the accuser. He’s done nothing else to embarrass this franchise. Amazing what winning did for Ben and Kobe. Hope they sign him to a long extension just for reaction entertainment.
The Glazers cannot keep both Jameis and Dirk. We’ve seen this the last two years and its obvious the relationship is shot. Guilt on both parties. I’d rather ride with a 24 year old QB with a high ceiling than a 50 something coach who can’t seem to get consistent first half productivity from his team.
Could make reasonable arguments on both sides for Licht. He knows how to find undrafted TE’s. Wish he could find a RB as easy.

Koetter and Licht must go, both made serious mistake of keeping Mike Smith way too long–he should never of been given a high pay contract–he was never very good.
Jason Licht has made so many mistakes–stop the madness!

    Sell the team.
