Visor Mystery Solved
November 30th, 2018Well, Bucs fandom can rest easy tonight. The riddle has been solved.
We now know why America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, wears a visor. And it has nothing to do with his eyesight.
Jameis was asked yesterday about this mounting issue that has the Tampa Bay community gripped with anticipation and suspense. In short, Jameis said his decision to wear the visor is more style than substance.
“I really just decided to put it on for a little swag,” Jameis said. “I’m happy it has paid off.”
Jameis wore it against the Giants in New Jersey and, of course, at home in the Den of Depression when the Bucs hosted the 49ers last Sunday. The clear visor, Jameis said, is not used as a corrective aid at all.
No word if Jameis will wear it again, but just guessing, he doesn’t want to jinx himself and will continue to wear the clear apparatus.

Mr. Magoo finally found his glasses?
November 30th, 2018 at 10:09 am
Glad to hear Jameis sounding confident. I hope he gets his swag back and puts this team on his back to consecutive victories. Football is a lot more fun when you don’t have draft talk in November.

Just win dam*nit!!
November 30th, 2018 at 10:12 am
Swag.
Good Lord.
Style over substance.
November 30th, 2018 at 10:16 am
Nothing wrong with that, whatsoever. Jameis is just trying to find his mojo. Whatever works. — Keep it going, kid.

November 30th, 2018 at 10:33 am
Swag? How about accumulating some Wins. Now thats Swag! We don’t care if you look like Sponge Bob..Just Win Got..ammit!!!!
November 30th, 2018 at 10:36 am
Non story
November 30th, 2018 at 10:45 am
Only a QB with more Interceptions than TD’s would be worried about swag.
November 30th, 2018 at 10:45 am
All that him saying that it was prescription is open more questions as to why it took 4 years…he also said he was innocent last spring but later couldn’t tell you what happened and blamed drinking
November 30th, 2018 at 10:46 am
News we can’t use! What else ya got?
November 30th, 2018 at 10:48 am
Who was really wanting to know why he wore a damn clear visor though? Crickets…..
November 30th, 2018 at 10:56 am
Good Lord…calm down…ol folks…
It’s all about gettin his MOJO…his COOL hand…
November 30th, 2018 at 11:08 am
What a bunch of losers some of you people are.
November 30th, 2018 at 11:08 am
Yet no one has bothered to ask about the glove he has worn ALL YEAR on his non throwing hand is that “swag” too or has he taken over for Freeman impersonating Michael Jackson at the velvet lined Ramada Inn?
November 30th, 2018 at 11:10 am
@Nole4JabooANDdBucs
Exactly. – Not sure what is so hard to understand about that.
November 30th, 2018 at 11:16 am
I wish it was for a smart reason like: seeing better (which he needs).
A smoke/mirrored visor would be way swaggier lol
November 30th, 2018 at 11:22 am
No one on here ever did anything or wore anything, just because it made them feel a bit more confident. If anyone needed to change something after Cinci it was Winston. Erik… can’t wear the smoke/mirror without medical reason in NFL.
November 30th, 2018 at 11:27 am
It is a heads up display and Fitzpatrick is telling him where to throw the ball…
November 30th, 2018 at 12:05 pm
Hey Dewey Selmon
That’s total BS. Yes because of ONE BAD GAME and being thrown in cold in second half against bears he has 10 TDS & 11 INTS. By seasons end he will probably have 21 TDS & about 14 INTS IN 9 games! Rookie 22TDS 15 INTS 6 rushing TDS. 2nd year 28/18, 3rd year 19/11( hurt 4 games) so other than Rick Stroud talking BLIND side fumbles which he has made great improvement this year he is NOT A TO machine! Heck Dak Prescott has 11 fumbles this year but no one is worried about it. My suggestion is to quit puttting ANY STOCK into the BIASED ANTI JW TBT
November 30th, 2018 at 12:16 pm
Did fans actually care? I feel like this is one of those fake media driven “stories”.
November 30th, 2018 at 12:17 pm
if he want swag he could just borrow some of djax chains
oh wait….
maybe FHITP tattoo
November 30th, 2018 at 12:17 pm
You can’t wear a Visor just for SWAG in the NFL. It has to be for vision. If he said it was for vision, then there would be more questions he didn’t want to answer. If’s for VISION
November 30th, 2018 at 12:23 pm
Time for Jimmy’s meds…..
November 30th, 2018 at 12:27 pm
No one has glasses 6 inches from you eyes….this is not for “vision”. Wow people on here…..
November 30th, 2018 at 1:01 pm
The tide has turned…I said so he day you were drafted!
November 30th, 2018 at 1:04 pm
Jimmy t … get help for your crush…Winston has 4 yrs and great receivers and so far nothing special..
November 30th, 2018 at 1:04 pm
If it helps him focus and win, he could wear a Hello Kitty tshirt for all I care. Just, ya know, under the jersey.
November 30th, 2018 at 1:20 pm
I’m not buying it. I’m still leaning towards him now wearing contacts and trying to protect his eyes from getting poked.
Too many times over that past several years have I seen him squinting on the field to read the score board or to look to the sidelines. I saw none of that this past Sunday. I have always thought he’s had physical site issues on the field.
If it is due to contacts, I’m glad. If his vision is bad enough to have to squint to see the score boards, it will most definitely affect his ability to throw accurately. Just coming from a guy who’s worn glasses for 35 years.
November 30th, 2018 at 1:30 pm
Charge,
That is incorrect. Tinted visor yes. Clear you don’t need a reason. A finger in your eye, or “swag” doesn’t matter.
November 30th, 2018 at 1:59 pm
Finger in the eye hurts! Never go to the sidelines again and miss a play due to trainers examining your eyeball…sounds like a smart move to me.
November 30th, 2018 at 2:25 pm
Sponge Bob? That’s a good one Mike!
November 30th, 2018 at 2:45 pm
finger in the WUT WUT said jaboo!
November 30th, 2018 at 3:03 pm
Mike Johnson says
“We don’t care if you look like Sponge Bob.”

“What a bunch of losers some of you people are.”
Of course they are Bonzai…they’re Buc fans!

November 30th, 2018 at 6:00 pm
oar says
“I’m a loser.”

🙂
November 30th, 2018 at 6:11 pm
that’s bs…
that visor is for vision…
and..
that visor is so the opposing team can’t see how he eve balls and stares down his targets…
watch that visor also darken up a bit over time…
so he will be like the ghost rider – with no eyes
November 30th, 2018 at 6:12 pm
mccoy must be all ecstatic now…thinking jameis is trying to look like a super hero…
with swag…of course
November 30th, 2018 at 7:00 pm
The “America’s QB and pro bowler” nonsense is absolutely ridiculous.
He didn’t make the pro bowl. He got asked to go because the people that actually made it before him backed out.
He’s not a pro bowler and to call him such is ludicrous.
But I wouldn’t expect anything different from an FSU fan.
I bet my house if he went to UF instead he wouldn’t be called that.
November 30th, 2018 at 8:56 pm
Joe saw him play in the Pro Bowl. Thus, he’s a Pro Bowler.
November 30th, 2018 at 9:54 pm
Lmao Joe you fail to take into account the pro bowl is a joke these days. If you dont make all pro you shouldn’t be on the list. But if guys dont want to play in the pro bowl they still have to have enough people to play the game this winston is a “pro bowler” .
November 30th, 2018 at 9:55 pm
Thus*
December 1st, 2018 at 1:42 am
He probably doesn’t want to get poked in the eye in the scrum. That’s the dirty part of the NFL.

Better To Look Good
Than To Be Good
December 2nd, 2018 at 3:48 am
Someone I know that used to play for the Bucs told me the visor is for glare reduction, that players actually don’t like to wear it because it looks dumb and there is a reflection off of it (sometimes gets in the way for photographers to get a good facial shot).
He probably realizes he needs it to see his targets better when they play mid afternoon in the blaring sun. Hopefully, it’s the aid that is reducing his interception ratio! He probably said the swag comment to make it not as bad, because he has no choice but to wear it.
I say anything to make him better!
