Three Out For Stinking Panthers Game

November 2nd, 2018

Injury report update.

The Bucs will be down three players for Sunday’s game with the Stinking Panthers.

We all know about right guard Evan Smith (hip). But there are two others out as well.

Running back Ronald Jones will be missing with a hamstring injury. Also, cornerback M.J. Stewart is out with a foot injury.

For the Stinking Panthers, only wide receiver Torrey Smith will miss the game. He has a knee injury.

Defensive linemen Gerald McCoy (calf) and Vinny Curry (ankle) both fully participated in practice today and are listed as questionable. Curry told Joe earlier this week he would play.

Put RoJo on IR and be done with it.
MJ Stewart got completely exposed in that last game- most of those catches were against him. He should have been replaced before he ever got hurt. These coaches are completely lost during the games. Who is in the press box telling tham what the hell is going on out there?

  2. bradinator Says:

MJ needs to be turned into a Safety. I honestly thought that’s what they were drafting him for when his name got called. I didn’t care for his speed during the combine. Good enough for Safety, not so much for the speedy slot coverage.

  3. The Real Malloy Says:

You know, I just love how all your arm chair QB’s harp on the coaching 24/7. What the hell do you know? A couple of you actually might have played the game in HS. Maybe a college player in here. Definitely no coaches.

This is why you work at Office Depot and live with your mom, so STFU and support the team.

  4. Joe Says:

This is why you work at Office Depot

Joe’s looking for a deal for a laptop briefcase on rollers. Must have a trolley strap which is a dealbreaker.

  5. Jameis Almighty! Says:

Hey Real Malloy. If you can’t tell Koetter sucks and Jason Licht can’t draft… then here is why: Jason Licht picks crap players with the rare exception. He passed inn derwin James this year. Koetter sucks because he has no cojones. Fire both of them after the Panthers loss.

  6. Jameis Almighty! Says:

MJ Stewart should never have been drafted… that’s another Jason Licht baffler.

  7. The Real Malloy Says:

Joe, get with Jameis Almighty. He’s definitely the Office Depot guy.

  8. buc15 Says:

I want to see Shaun Wilson get more touches. I thought we was going great when he got the chance.

  9. The Real Malloy Says:

Yeah, Koetter sucks. We have the #1 offense in the league. Something Tampa Bay has NEVER seen. He’s had nothing but amazing offenses everywhere he’s been. Should he have pulled the plug on Mike Smith? Yes. Licht has had a mixed bag drafting. He’s had some truly genius picks, and then he’s had some head scratchers. The one miss that will cost him most likely (barring Fitz bailing everyone out) is your ‘Jameis Almighty’. Your mom is calling you. Time to go to work at PetSmart or whatever it is you do.

  10. BucThis Says:

    The Real Malloy-

I dont think Koetter deserves so much praise. With so many weapons you’d expect a Top-5 offense. What Koetter was hired to do though he has failed miserably. He cant coach up anyone let alone a QB

  11. 813bucboi Says:

    buc15

    I agree

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!…#PRESSURESONTHECOACHES!!!!…GO BUCS!!!

  12. The Real Malloy Says:

    BucThis,

He was hired to lead this team. He was not hired specifically for Jameis, no did he choose Jameis. What he is doing is his best to WIN GAMES, and that included benching the “franchise qb” that never really was. We go on a run, all the sudden all of you will be singing a different tune, except for the Jameis apologists that would rather us fail and lose under Fitz to prove their point. A lot of those loser trolls on here.

“With so many weapons, you’d expect a top 5 offense”. Great point. We’re #1, so I guess our offense is above expectations. We can afford to draft extremely heavy on the defensive side of the ball IF we don’t blow the whole thing up, which hoping they do not. Dirks teams have 0 quit in them. Cant say the same for the Lovie, Schiano, and Raheem teams.

  13. jjbucfan Says:

Dirk (Real Malloy) is that you? We do support this team- just pointing out that MJ Stewart was being exposed over and over again and they left him. As a coach- you have to see that and make a change. It wasn’t MJ’s positioning- it was his speed, put a faster guy in- that is all. As far as RoJo- he is taking up a roster spot and he was not very effective no matter how much you want him to be. I’m not saying he won’t be a beast next year, but for this year we are missing time on Shaun Wilson and the kid from Wisconsin on our practice squad looked the part when he came in during the preseason.

  14. stpetebucsfan Says:

This may be the healthiest we’ve been in a long time. At least we can now go to Carolina all 813 Bucboi…NO EXCUSES.

  15. jjbucfan Says:

Well Malloy- If he was hired to lead the TEAM, he failed miserably. Mike Smith was literally the worst DC in the league for last year and so far this year and he never stepped in. He is ultimately responsible for what his position coaches and coordinators do. And you are wrong on the draft, we need to go O-Line which is not glamorous but this is what this team has needed for several years. How would McGlinchey and Nelson look on the right side instead of Vea and RoJo, just sayin’

  16. BucThis Says:

    The Real Malloy-

Im pretty sure the main reason they canned Lovie (other the his atrocious defense) was to retain Koetter in order to further DEVELOP Jameis Winston. Listen, I agree with the benching last week and this week. However, this WHOLE coaching staff has proven time and time again it cant DEVELOP players. (excluding the offensive line). At the end of the season, whether we make a run or not (im assuming not with our defense) Fitz is not nor will ever be the answer at QB. Some fans are just a little to quick to dismiss a QB when his coaches, IMO, have failed him miserably. Don’t forget, this is the franchise that let Doug Williams and Steve Young walk out the door.

  17. Fartman Says:

Nobody gonna miss Rojo, Elliot may be an upgrade to Stewart. Evans will be missed… marginally.

  18. GhostofSchiano Says:

The Real Malloy Says This is why you work at Office Depot and live with your mom, so STFU and support the team.

My Mom says “Screw you and GO BUCS!!!!!!!”

  19. shane47 Says:

The problem with Koetter is he’s still learning how to be a head coach in the NFL, given time I think he will be good.

As far as everyone being an arm chair QB, well, we all have eyes and we are all seeing the same things; the same things that have plagued this team for the last 3-4yrs under this staff.

We all stood around with a confused look on our collective faces as no coaching changes were made at the end of last year. Then, we all applauded as the play calling was handed over to Monken. We all pumped our fist as Buckner took over as our D-line coach and we all celebrated like we won the lottery after Mike Smith was fired!

We are all still wondering why we can’t run the damn ball or why our Special teams are terrible. It’s still a mystery why our Oline is still struggling and our Dline can’t get pressure. And last but not least, why is our secondary always lost and/or out of position? It doesn’t take a NFL analyst to see these issues, it does however take good coaching and a good GM to fix them. Which is why so many people are tired of hearing it’s the players.

At some point the finger has to be pointed at “The coaches”!

  20. Tampabaybucfan Says:

If you had to pick 3 players we won’t miss much…..these will do.

Elliott can play the slot…..Cappa is no worse than Benenoch…..and Rojo is on OJT.

I questioned the MJ Stewart pick in front of Carlton Davis and was berated by many posters saying “Licht knows what he is doing”……

We will see….but I still think there had to be several better choices than Stewart.

  21. The Real Malloy Says:

I guess the Office Depot thing hit a little too close to home eh GhostofSchiano?

  22. Noles Says:

    Real Malloy

We have #1 offense based on passing yards & they all come because we are getting our arse kicked and have no choice but to pass. The D we are playing against are playing off and not to lose so we get some garbage points and yards. This team continues to lose and that’s why fans are upset. I get none of us are coaches or have that experience but what we are watching is aweful and has been for a long time..it’s easy to see the draft failures by Licht just look at the players he has passed on. While none of us may be qualified to make the picks they can sure hire someone else who is.. These fans aren’t being non Bucs fans it’s more of them venting their frustration because of their passion for the Team. If you are a Tampa native then you know this has been the tone for all but maybe 6 – 7 seasons since 1976 not exactly a good track record. I for one hope I am wrong that they need to start over but I just don’t see it.. & there is nothing wrong with working at office depot at least you are working which is more than I can say for the Bucs.

  23. jjbucfan Says:

shane- How’s the kicker still hear? LOL

  24. The Real Malloy Says:

    TBBF,

I agree about MJ Stewart, but its still early on him. That being said, Carlton Davis looks really good. Future starter for a long time, and we need that 6’2 frame in our division. Excellent pick.

  25. shane47 Says:

    @ jjbucfan

    LOL!

  26. Bird Says:

Good to see defensive line healthy. We have to stop their run and cam’s qb sneaks. Yah. Elliot is no different then MJ at this point . MJ a rookie and I hope he will be better next year. Rojo a ghost so nothing there.

Evan smith is ehhh. Give Cappa or liedeke some snaps at guard.

Our run game will suck but if fitz can get some throws downfield early it will open up field. We have best group of receivers and tight ends in the league. Can’t cover them all.

  27. Noles Says:

    Real malloy

12 winning record seasons in 43 years with 5 of those seasons being 9-7. The BUCS are the worst team in NFL history which is a fact .387 winning percentage so if you have been watching all these years as well, you can understand why fans are so upset. Of course when you are upset you are not always logical but I can understand their frustration which I share.. Always rooting for the BUCS just think they need a front office change & again the Glazers need to hire a VP to help them make the best choice… hope we can figure this out

  28. SchwiftyBuc Says:

    Jameis Almighty

My sentiments exactly. Some how some way, in a draft with 4 picks in the first 2 rounds, this is shaping up to be Jason Lichts absolute worst draft. Which seems hard to fathom when you consider just how bad 2016 was. And MJ Stewart is by far the worst pick of the bunch.

  29. GhostofSchiano Says:

    The Real Malloy Says:

I guess the Office Depot thing hit a little too close to home eh GhostofSchiano?

Not at all, I just saw an opportunity to make a smart @$$ comment and took it.

  30. Lord Cornelius Says:

#1 offense in the league in YARDS.

We’re 7th in points scored. Which is solid but not even top 5. The top 3 offenses all average 5 more points per game than us.

Koetter’s offenses historically are solid in yards but never top 3-5 in scoring. His offense is good at getting chunk gains but not in the red zone and not in general efficiency.

Regardless this is a team sport. We don’t know wtf the future is at QB. Our GM’s draft looks sketchy as f*ck at this point. I duno how to feel good unless Winston comes back and looks good. WInston single handily has ruined my outlook on the franchise right now.

  31. Mike Johnson Says:

Again Non-comprehending Bucs fans… You can have the greatest Offense the leagues ever seen..If you got the worst (or close to) Defense in the League, you will not win games. Funny how the Bucs won more games with a great Defense and very average Offense back in the day huh? Now sit back Sunday and watch the Carolina Panthers lead by coach..RiverBoat Ron. They have a truly..balaanced attack.

  32. Wesley Says:

Those three guys have stunk anyway

  33. RobertG Says:

    Go Bucs!

  34. Shane247 Says:

    @ Robert

There is NOT plenty of winning!

  35. jjbucfan Says:

Here is my opinion (like anyone cares)- I am not ready to give up on any of our players. Benonoch needs to benched the same way Jameis was or this is just personal with Koetter. Jameis, at least has been good at times. I’m not ready to give up on any of our draft pick, at all, but if they are not performing, they have to come out and you have to try someone new. Ro Jo has been a non-factor all year- so put him on IR and give someone else a chance. If we make the playoffs, is he really gonna help this team? Try Shaun Wilson first now that he has had time to sit and watch. If he doesn’t work out try Wisconsin dude if he is still on the practice squad. MJ can come back when he is healthy, that is fine with me. Just because he was exposed against a damn good receiver in Tyler Boyd doesn’t mean every team has THAT guy. Vea- keep your ass fighting. It was good to see Watson get his first playing time. Please put anyone on this team other than Rodgers back on kickoff return and that includes Vita Vea (who wants to tackle that in the open field, LOL). Just kidding obviously but seriously-try something new. Try a fake punt, just to show us you are alive and not a robot. Blitz and if they burn us, blitz em again, because what we are doing right now isn’t working. Cut Catanzaro after his next missed extra point, just take his helmut right there on the sideline and escort him out and go for 2 every time just like if he blew his knee out celebrating an extra point he made (I’m looking at you Billy G).

  36. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Joe wins comment/comeback of the day!!! Perfect!

  37. Bucs fan #7423 Says:

Dirk Koetter is pure offense. He’s so good he can even make the Bucs the #1 offense.

Dirk has to put up with horrible defensive coordinators, horrendous quarterback play, and terrible kickers. Oh yeah, and Jason Lichts draft picks busts.

What head coach u know can win Super Bowls with that??? NONE!

  38. BuccaneEric75 Says:

This is why I don’t comment much about play calling and coaching decisions. I’m smart enough to know that the worst coach in the league knows 1000 times more about the ins and outs of football than than I ever think I learned on Madden! The coaches see these players every day and know what they can and can’t do. Wether the player translates what he knows to the field is another story.

  39. Not there yet Says:

Benonoch gonna get destroyed, I am ready to see Cappa, if he plays better than Benonoch once again a negative on the coaching staff for waiting

  40. unbelievable Says:

#1 offense lol….. yea, in YARDS!

    For the 100 millionth time:

    WHO CARES ABOUT YARDS????

Yards are meaningless. All that matters is points. You must have more than your opponent. And we are NOT #1 in points scored, not even close.

  41. unbelievable Says:

My bad LC, you already posted that.

And put it more eloquently than I did…

  43. RobertG Says:

    That was bitching and whinning

  44. Rod Munch Says:

MJ has looked like a slow version of Ryan Smith so far this year… but you really can’t, and shouldn’t, judge corners based on being forced into the lineup in their rookie year. Just like how Vita has given the team absolutely no production and looks like the 3-4 run stuffing NT that he profiled as – you can’t say he’s a garbage player since rookie interior defensive lineman rarely produce much their first year. Even with that qualifier, MJ is concerning since you rarely gain speed as you age and he looks very slow out there, but he might play faster if he’s not running around looking lost, and that is a very real thing. The idea of moving him to safety is what they did with Ryan Smith and we’ve seen the results – so I’m not sure that is the answer either. But why a 2nd rounder on the guy? I didn’t see him nearly that highly rated anywhere and his combine numbers didn’t look good either. It seemed the Bucs just said take the biggest guys regardless of their speed, which might be OK if you played on the line and jammed guys, but the Bucs (at least under Smith) play 15 yards off the LOS.

  45. Jameis Almighty! Says:

So Malloy wants to throw his wallet around in an attempt to cyber bully a fellow Bucs fan. Seems like one heck of a fella… I wish I lived with my mother for the record! She’s 5 minutes from the beach and she can cook extremely well. But yeah, Jason Licht is killing this team and the coaches have to coach what he gives them. It’s more on Jason Licht than it is the coaches, but gee the coaches seem like they could be better. The not going for it on 4th down against Pittsburgh is why Koetter people gripe. The problem is, the average fan who hasn’t played football can see something isn’t right. That’s bad.

  46. Jameis Almighty! Says:

Vita Vea is a complete write off at this point. He is not worth the slot he was drafted at. Vea is slow… I mean really slow. Jason Licht is going to lose his job over that pick. The Glazers are owners and want winners. Jason Licht is a loser and so is Koetter. Not exactly the best environment to bring up a superstar QB.

  47. Jameis Almighty! Says:

Real Malloy… there is nothing wrong with anyone who works at any of those places you have mentioned. I personally do not, but, I have a job and do my best, just like the Joes and other posters on here. It’s easy to bully behind a keyboard with anonymous posting and another thing in person. If that’s how you get your jollies, whatever, lol… coward.

  48. Defense Rules Says:

@StPete … “This may be the healthiest we’ve been in a long time. At least we can now go to Carolina all 813 Bucboi…NO EXCUSES.” You’re right St Pete, this is the healthiest we’ve been in a long time. BUT … we’re still badly beaten up & our depth really sucks. Carolina on the other hand seems to be fairly healthy.

Panthers’ defense is only giving up 20 PPG (as opposed to our 35 PPG). Panthers’ offense is scoring at a rate of a tad over 25 PPG (as opposed to our 30 PPG). If it wasn’t for the defensive thingie, we might have a pretty decent chance. Carolina’s offense is rushing for an average of 140 YPG (not too shabby), and Cam’s actually passing better this year too (completing 66% of his passes), but a lot of those have been short. But what’s interesting (to me at least) is that he’s thrown 9 INTs in 7 games, and fumbled 4 times … that an average turnovers on just him of 2 per game.

Looks like the keys to the game for us are (1) stop the run; (2) win the turnover battle; and (3) control the clock by running the ball especially. The 2 games the Panthers lost (they’re 5-2) were BOTH because the other team ran well against them (Falcons got 170 yds rushing & Redskins got 132 yds rushing). Panthers TOP is all over the place this season, but averages right at 30 mins/game (Redskins beat them by keeping the ball for over 35 mins & by winning the turnover battle 3-0 … plus out-rushing them). MAYBE our OLine will finally rise to the occasion and actually run block Sunday.

  49. AlteredEgo Says:

LOL… butthurt Jamyth drones are popping up with newly minted screen names…

  50. The Real Malloy Says:

    Jameis Almighty,

You’re lame. Also, there is plenty wrong with being anti-buccaneers on this website. We’re 3-4. Quit your F’ing bitching. There is also plenty wrong with people similar to what I described (living with your mammy and working at office depot) telling a seasoned NFL coach how to do his job. Nothing wrong with working at office depot, but you are where you are. Probably shouldn’t tell professionals how to do their jobs when you can’t get outta mommas house. Congratulations for moving out though, we’re all very impressed.

I can tell I upset you, and that is funny. Thin skinned a little?

  51. The Real Malloy Says:

Perhaps you need a safe place?

  52. Tampa Bay Tailgater Says:

    Lol @ TheRealMaloy!

I agree how easy is it to sit here and throw garbage on how many people Licht missed on. They are the same people crying for Dalvin Cook and would’ve crucified Licht for drafting injury RBs. I actually think Dirk isn’t that bad either. He’s drafting players that would be drafted by other teams too so why aren’t we getting the most out of these guys? I mean the kickers we bought it were proven and suck when they get here… It’s a cultural issue for years here. No heart, no passion.

  53. TheNorm Says:

    Guess who else is out?

WINSTON LMAO. Couldn’t out play a 35 year old backup lol.

    Bum.

  54. Jameis Almighty! Says:

Here are the facts. Jameis Winston is a great human being and QB. Real Malloy is a douchebag troll. The Bucs are a dumpster fire because of sorry ass Jason Licht and Clueless Koetter. Now, JoeBucsFans, back to your regularly scheduled Jameis bashing and Friday enjoyment.

  55. Resurrection of Duff Says:

    Can Jameis kick field goals????????????????????

  56. Firrrreee Licht Says:

Jameis can outplay Fitz. He did against Chicago this year. If you can’t realize how many valuable picks Jason Licht has messed up and how bad Koetter has been, you haven’t been watching. This is my last post on here until this dumpster fire is put out or Jameis comes back in and Balls out.

  57. stpetebucsfan Says:

Tailgater……They were also the ones who were whining and crying when Licht passed on 🌮 Charlton.

  61. Ndog Says:

Why do I feel like the rest of this season is useless and nothing from this point forward really matters. We are a dumpster fire again with nothing to look forward to at all. At best, AT BEST we are a .500 team with no long term QB,, no long term DE, no long term RB, no long term RT, no long term RG, one decent CB, one decent S, no kicker and complete moron with no leadership skills as a head coach. We wait all off season for football and this is what we get. Not only have they ruined this season but somehow found a way to destroy the next 5 years as well. That’s how bad this organization and coach is. Disgusting!

  62. JimmyJack Says:

Screw you Ndog the season aren over yet. But we don’t stand much a chance on Sunday do we? Still though, we could get a lucky bounce bro and be at 4-4 and looking fine

  63. JimmyJack Says:

  64. Ndog Says:

JimmyJack first of all what did I do? Secondly please tell me where I am wrong about anything I just said.

  65. JimmyJack Says:

Ndog….I’m just saying the season is still alive at the moment. Not a dumpster fire just yet. A loss on Sunday basically gets us there.

  66. JimmyJack Says:

But you don’t need to have long-term solutions at every position. Well coached teams tend to get good play out of guys we never heard of.

  67. Ndog Says:

No not every position but you do a certain positions and they happen to be QB, DE, and CB which, thanks to this crappy coaching staff, we have none of the above for the future.

  68. Bigbucfan90 Says:

Should’ve gave the giants what they wanted for Colin’s we missed out smh

  69. JimmyJack Says:

Ndog that is true. And I did agree with most of your post……just not that we are in dumpster fire mode just yet. If I act like a jerk about it it’s only cause I’m a pissed off Buc fan.

But I think you might wanna reconsider the CB position. Aside from missing time with injury I don’t see what’s not to like about Carlton Davis.

  70. Ndog Says:

I like Davis but when he will have his 3rd defensive coordinator within a year, when next year starts, that’s not really how you cultivate talent.

  71. JimmyJack Says:

Yeah it’s not the way you draw it up.

I’d love to tell you hope ain’t dead and Dirk’s team could rebound and save football in TB……. unfortunately there’s no logical basis for that argument.
