O.J. Howard On Extraordinary Pace

November 4th, 2018

It’s time for a happiness break in the wake of another train wreck Bucs loss — in another train wreck Bucs season.

O.J. Howard has moved into the zone of elite NFL tight ends. Sure, he’s got plenty to prove and is just a season and a half into his career, but it’s clear that Howard virtually can’t be covered.

His two touchdowns today give him five for the season and, halfway through the season, that puts him on pace for 10 TDs, 56 catches and 946 yards. Those are beastly numbers usually reserved for guys like Rob Gronkowski and Jimmy Graham.

And Howard is a willing blocker with a fantastic attitude.

When the Bucs’ regime likely blows up after this season, Howard no doubt will be an attractive piece for the team’s next hierarchy.

Joe wishes the Bucs used him more. Joe loves seeing a first-round pick play like, you know, a first-round pick.

If Carolina was taking away the deep shot today, as it appeared, and they were blanketing DeSean Jackson and Mike Evans, then why isn’t the inevitable Howard mismatch being exploited more often?

This saints and rams game is pretty good

  5. Season Is Over Says:

Maybe Koetter can ride his coattails. I don’t see much else he wants to take credit for.

  6. Grt1 Says:

No Sh!+ joe, how about a story on Fitztragic garbage day and how Klueless still has a job.

  7. Mike Johnson Says:

Koetter and Smitty are no Dummies. They already got themselves nice little Division 2 college schools to coach next year.

  8. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Fitz actually had a decent day

  9. TheBucsAnthem Says:

I think Mike is right on the $$$

  10. Rod Munch Says:

Basically everyone on the offense, except anyone involved with the running game, is on a historic pace, which you need if you’re expected to win with this defense.

  11. Resurrection of Duff Says:

A gem in the waste offense of 2018.

Hard to write but the Browns fan will have a better season than us.

    sighhhhhhhhhhhhing

I’m watching stud Aaron Donald making plays………and we got PANSY AZZ GMC……………..sucks

  13. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

Everyone knew he was a stud and a freak. It’s just great to see him out there proving it. Much improved routes and catching from OJ this year, it’s a big leap from last season.

  14. Rick Says:

One of those two teams is winning the super bowl.

  15. “That guy” Says:

Well joe, that’s because he’s not actually open as often as Adam humphries.

  16. orlbucfan Says:

This offense is for real: OJ Howard, CBrate, ME13, Ungodly Godwin, Hump (who deserved a game ball today), etc. What is with the idiotic game plans???????????? You could stick a kid in there as QB and we would win. The problem is the moronic HC who put this offense together and doesn’t see it. ARG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

OJ is a stud. Brate is expendable. We need to trade him as he’s a good caliber starting TE and is worth something.

  18. westernbuc Says:

If you blow up the regime, the new suits will want their own players. They’ll probably trade off most the team and set the organization back another 5 years.

But that’s exactly what Buc fans want. This organization is cursed

  19. Rick Says:

How the hell did we beat this saints team? Brees is going to set another half time scoring record on the Bucs next time we see them. Holy crap it’s going to be ugly.

  20. Jeagan1999 Says:

Love this kid! He’s everything I thought he’d be when a handful of us were lobbying for him in the draft 2 years ago! The sky is the limit for him!

  21. Rod Munch Says:

westernbuc – You mean if they get a new regime that blows up the team and dumps Jameis it will set the franchise back another 20 years.

  22. Kobe Faker Says:

So the only way for tampa to trade JW is with the guareented 21 mil?

No team will be willing to give draftpicks and forced to pay JW for 21 mil

Im guessing Tampa will just cut him and get nothing

JW will be free agent and go to a winning team with the best contract or 1 year tryout

  23. Rod Munch Says:

Kobe Faker – If you actually believe that the Bucs couldn’t trade Jameis and get at least one 1st rounder out of it, you’re a bigger idiot than I thought.

  24. destinjohnny Says:

    Lets get him Tua RTR!!!

  25. Erik w/ Clean Athletics Says:

    Rod Munch,

U think a team would give a 1st-rounder (plus possibly more) for Jameis?

    That is ridiculous.

And you tried to call someone dumb for not agreeing with that outlandish opinion.
I guarantee that no team would or will ever give up more than a single 3rd-rd pick for Jameis.

There’s a little dose of reality for you…
