Cam Newton completed 76 percent of his passes today. The eight-year veteran had only done that five times in his career.
The Panthers also averaged 5.6 yards per carry against the mighty Bucs defense.
How exactly are you supposed to win games giving up the booty like that?
And the Bucs’ tackling woes are brutal. Teams are supposed to be tackling better by Week 9, not looking like they often do on opening day. That’s how the Bucs looked today.
Tampa Bay registered five quarterback hits on Cam Newton, which is a bad day for most teams. But it’s an improvement for the Bucs after they only hit Andy Dalton twice last week. The pass rush wasn’t good enough, even with Gerald McCoy and Vinny Curry back starting.
The Panthers, on the other hand, belted Ryan Fitzpatrick 11 times and forced two turnovers.
The Bucs haven’t had interception since September. And they’re on a two-game streak without generating a turnover.
It’s reached the point the Bucs offense has to score 40 points a game for a prayer to compete.
Carolina is a complete football team despite a bunch of injuries and rookies on the field. The Bucs are a mess.

Horrible, just horrible….your team is out of it before half time every week. Yes we come back to make a game out of it. But that is when the other team has lost interest. When we make it interesting late. The other team bears down and march the ball down the field like nobody is there. Friggin sickening to continue to see good offense go to waste.

Dirk Koetter is done. He took the hands off approach on defense and it is coming back to bite him in the ass. He must have taken the head coaching job assuming that he would ever have to worry about the D. The chickens have come home to roost. It is time. Well I don’t support Winston because of turnovers so I can’t give Fitz a pass either. Early interception led to quick points for the Panthers! Even though the game may have been out of reach down 14 late in the 4th there there was still hope before the turnover on the pass to Jackson.

Can’t start like that every game. Where was any pressure or blitzes. How come our ends never contain. This team is soft. My mom could tackle better. We consistently lose and take no chances. At this point what do we have to lose. Sooner or later the finger pointing is going to start and then the coaching staff will be gone at years end if it hasn’t started already.

😡 Licht is one of the bigger problems this team has. His free agency and draft picks are poor. See drafting a kicker in the second round. Who does that. I agree he’s hit on some in the the draft but he fails to address the same key areas every year. Defense can’t sack, cover or tackle every year. The team is weak mentally especially on defense. See GMC apologizing to Ben R. Laughing and dancing when we are losing. Weak and non competitive. Khalil Mack should have been a buc. Licht should have been all over that. Poor decisions multiple years. We need a strong solid GM with drafting skills and free agency smarts. Like I said one of the problems. We have several. Fire the GM new GM will get his coach either way.

This defense is what you get when you go into the season with Chris Conte and Ryan Smith as starters.

The other part of that isn’t that Conte and Smith, the two worst players at their position according to Football Outsiders, by themselves aren’t already bad enough already, but that when they are starting it generally means the players behind them are even worse.

He is way over his head, he is responsible for this defense, and Mike Smith was his scape goat. Now Winston is his scapegoat for the offence. He isn’t a team guy!! T REX- I don’t think there’s any choice! You hear guys talkin’ “I’ve been a Bucs fan since 1977” and I’d venture to say there’s some B.S. there. No matter, I can remember my first Bucs game back in 1980 when Pittsburgh barely beat the Bucs. Doug Williams, Jimmy Giles, Scott Brantley…..a long time ago.
I watch this team right now and ask, “Why do we make it look so difficult?” I don’t care that we’re not the only ones! Why are WE so bad?! Outside of a singular ‘blip’ this team has been historically awful.
The Culverhouses were cheap beyond belief and I just don’t feel like the Glazers care. It’s bizarre.
There are a MULTITUDE of reasons to ‘burn it down’. For a HC or OC to call a play that sends in the smallest RB you have to run up the middle on 2nd and 1 versus your 220 lb. “powerback” running it?!!! This is football. OK? We’re not reinventing the wheel here! Right play, wrong personnel.
Defense? Yea, that’d be a nice addition!!! OMG, how can we be SOOOOOOO SOFT! Carolina was PUNKING players. PUNKING them!

It is difficult being a Bucs fan. Seems anything that can go wrong…will go wrong. Every year.
On the bright side, Bucs fans may be watching history in the making. Our defense could become the worst defense to ever suit up in the NFL. EVER
No other defense, in ALL the NFL’s years, was as bad as the 2018 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We’re literally making history. Hope you all can enjoy the history making effort. There seems little else to cheer for this year. Having watched this defense, I believe we have a great shot at being the worst…EVER

So let me see if I got this right: the defense Sucks and can’t give up less than 30+ points, so the offense has to score score score. You do that with a young QB who has spent about 2 weeks practicing with the starting offense, and he naturally throws more interceptions than the veteran… who has LOST 4 games of the 5. Who should get rid of?
