“This Secondary For The Steelers Will Get Torched”

September 24th, 2018

Bold words.

As Linsday Rhodes of the NFL Network said, “Yeah, we all saw this coming.”

It’s the undefeated Bucs hosting the winless Steelers. Let those words sink in for a moment.

The men and woman of NFL Network’s “Total Access” give their quick takes on tonight’s game that Joe found interesting. Most seem to expect a shootout. David Carr noted whenever Steelers wideout Antonio Brown throws a hissy fit as he did last week, he blows up the following game. Carr is looking at Brown racking up 200 yards receiving tonight.

Joe hopes Brent Grimes has something to say about that.

Willie McGinest is not fond of the Steelers’ secondary. In fact, he had strong words for what he expects from the Bucs’ aerial attack tonight.

“This secondary for the Steelers will get torched.”

This will be a track meet and expect big ben and the steelers and AB to post crazy numbers and it will be up to the Bucs and fitzmagic to match those numbers as both secondaries and defenses are horrible

  2. Knoxville Buc Fan Says:

Well hopefully before the night is over there’s a deal on the table to trade Bell to us and it wouldn’t matter who is throwing to these amazing receivers. No way they would’ve made a trade before tonight’s game anyways.

What does Leveon Bell bring to the Bucs? He is an explosive player who can take it to the house. That is perhaps the LEAST of our needs right now.

Meanwhile we’re going to surrender what draft picks for a head case who holds out for more money virtually every year.

Don’t get me wrong…I respect Bell’s talent it’s just that his talent is in the area we least need it. It’s kind of like Antonio Brown…great player but we simply do not need another WR!!

Now Khalil Mack would have been an entirely different story. We still have a need for a pass rushing, QB crushing, DL.

    Boy…that’s a bold prediction!

Seriously though…I think our defense will be better this week. It usually takes 2-3 games to get the defense going good. That’s with most teams.

We have the talent there. I’m not saying they will be outstanding (though they could be, you never really know), but I think they will be much improved.

  5. Slugglife Says:

No was Dusty. Not tonight. Our defense is gonna shine.

  6. SOEbuc Says:

Signing Bell, AB, Mack? So we’re getting rid of Ali, Kwon, Jameis, JPP, DJax and major draft picks in the future? Don’t think so.

  7. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Yes, the Steelers will get torched, as long as we can protect Fitz.
IF Fitz has time, no team in the NFL can cover all of our weapons effectively.
It is true that Mike Evans is open, even when he is covered, and since Fitz has taken over, we have “re discovered” DeSean Jackson. It will not hurt Jameis to sit for awhile, and watch how Fitz spreads the ball around.

  8. SOEbuc Says:

Grimes is back to direct this young, upcoming secondary tonight. Start Whitehead!

  9. BucfanBF Says:

Lets just stop with the Leveon Bell talk. IT is ridiculous. he is a Prima Dona and wants QB money. He is good but what do we give up for him? No thanks!!

  10. orlbucfan Says:

Nothing like coming on this site to laff at the yahoos. What do we need a prima donna/locker room headache like Bell for? Hope big Offense continues to improve as it plays together. Would like to see Whitehead, too. Kid is already showing stud marks. Go Tampa Bay Mighty O!!!!!!!!

  11. 813bucboi Says:

no to bell please…..he would want to offense to be focused around him…..the offense goes around protection and the open player…..

    #TUNNELVISION!!!!…GO BUCS!!!!

  12. DRFEELGOOD Says:

Our defense is not horrible. The Saints showed yesterday in the ATL that they can light up anyone. The only reason Philly came back toward us is a huge dropped pass and a huge fumble by ME13. He knows it. And the D overcame that!! In today’s NFL, teams are gonna score a ton of points. The true test comes when you need a stop late in the game. Last year, we puked. This year, 2-0. The jury is still out, but our defense is not horrible.

I love khalil Mack. I’m from Chicago and it took 2 # 1 picks to get him. But you know what ? After his first 3 games with da Bears; He’s worth it. Remember 2 first round draft picks.
