In this edition of The Todd Wright Fantasy Football Podcast: Bucs Bulletin, Todd talks about the one man wearing a Tampa Bay Buccaneers uniform who will be drafted in every season-long fantasy draft on our planet. There’s only one. Mike Evans carries WR1 value in that second tier of wide receivers with a consensus ADP on a national level.
However, much like someone in Seattle will draft Russell Wilson over Aaron Rodgers and someone in Cincinnati will draft Joe Mixon over Leonard Fournette, you know there will be fantasy players in Tampa Bay reaching for Evans a round too early. After that, there does not appear to be another Buccaneers WR worth anything higher than your last non PK/DST selection.

What a moron!!!! LMFAO
Mike Evans said he believes the Bucs have one of the best WR groups in the NFL and Todd says, “No, No they don’t” and then says the Fantasy #s back him up.
So stupid!!
Going off of last years numbers is how 95% of people draft in fantasy leagues.
People don’t have any confidence in Tampa’s receivers because last year they didn’t produce!! We get that!!
I’m calling that a fluke and not anywhere close to a true indicator.
But to say they don’t have one of the best WR groups is pure foolishness.
Just watch and see. I’ll bet you at least 2 have 1,000 yards and 2 have over 10 TDs. QBs will combine for 40+
TEs will combine for THE MOST TDs of ANY team.
All top 5 #s.
Then I’ll be doing your podcast and you can keep hoping last years Fantasy #s back you up!!

Billy_43 – I think Evans is good for around 1100 yards and 8 TDs, but that’s not a negative reflection on him as a player, as in he hasn’t declined, it’s just the Bucs have so much depth they will spread the ball around. So Evan’s place in fantasy is about how you value other players. The other issue with Evans is because there are so many people to catch the ball that his upside is limited, and I think my stats are near the upper end of what to expect.
I did grab D-Jax in a 14-team league, and this was before the Titans game, because I do think if Winston is healthy, that D-Jax can give the Bucs a few big weeks here and there, but it will be all match-up based. He’s not a guy I’d plan on starting every week, but just in case I got him because he’s cheap. I don’t see Godwin as being a fantasy player this year, but in dynasty he’d be a good pickup if he was cheap, since I think by next year, assuming DJax and Hump are gone, he’s a guy who can give you 1000 yards and 7 TDs for a very low cost.
Brate can also be had, basically for free, so I’ve grabbed him in a few leagues. I think OJ is a much better player, but Brate has Winston’s complete trust and just catches more balls as OJ does more in blocking. So Brate, as a last round position pick, isn’t a bad choice in PPR.
As for the other guys, Humphries, no thanks. Bobo, no thanks. Watson, I like what I’ve seen so far, but nope, obviously not going anywhere near him this year. 3rd TE? Nope.
So really, if you break down all the WRs, you have Evans, who is a borderline #1 in a 12 team fantasy league (and one of the best in real life) and that’s about it. Maybe you can take a late round bet on DJax, but if he does have value I don’t think he’s until Winston is back as Fitz seems to have the same arm that I do at this point, so I can’t see the deep ball being in play.
