Bucs Sell Naming Rights To One Buc

August 27th, 2018

That didn’t take long.

The Buccaneers’ gorgeous new indoor facility has a new name, as does One Buc Palace.

It was all announced today and the movers and shakers involved were talking about it.

Welcome to the Advent Health Training Center, officially located at One Buccaneer Place, Tampa, Florida.

Advent Health will become the new name of Florida Hospital. And the hospital’s West Florida Division entered into the partnership with the Bucs to promote their community wellness programs plus 10 acute-care hospitals and three free-standing Emergency Room facilities.

Unfortunately, nobody was talking money, which might be the most interesting element of it all.

Bucs co-chairman Bryan Glazer said many companies have approached the Bucs about naming rights but this was the right partner for the Bucs’ community and health focus.

Mike Schultz, president and CEO of the Advent Health west Florida division, said the new partnership is all about the Buccaneers’ strong and powerful name in the community and the teams tremendous connection with people of all ages. He cited a recent “back-to-school bash”, a health fair held at Raymond James Stadium, that drew 35,000 for eye exams, sports physicals, health screenings and more.

“There’s no way Florida Hospital could command that much attention in any of its efforts [without the Buccaneers],” Schultz said.

The new partnership is part of a new extension on a previous five-year marketing arrangement with the Bucs and Florida Hospital.

Schultz added that teams have their ups and downs in the standings but that wasn’t a primary factor in the decision to unite with the Bucs. It was all about their “well respected name.”

So will Joe start calling One Buc Palace, the Advent Health Training Center? Absolutely!! For a very reasonable fee.

The money spent by Advent Health for these naming rights could be put to better use by helping those who are sick.

Gross. I hate “corporate naming rights”

Stupidest yet best ever was the “1-800-Ask-Gary Amphitheatre” 🙂

  8. Pickgrin Says:

    ^^^^^^

    Takes money to make money.

Remind me again why it is that we allow our Health Care system to largely operate “for profit”??

Doctors aren’t always the brightest when it comes to spending their money.

  15. Adambomb418 Says:

This does nothing for the fans. It only pockets more money for the owners.

  16. SOEbuc Says:

So who’s gonna still call it One Buc Place? I am. I just read the new name two seconds ago and I’ve already forgotten it.

  17. SOEbuc Says:

They better not try to put a gigantic Advent Health Care flag up next to our big one.

  18. Howard Cosell Says:

    @ D-Rome
Health insurance isn’t about helping sick people (especially poor sick people) it’s about making more excessive loot for billionaires.
    so it’s win-win….
Win for Glazer loot and a win for Team Advent CEO and investor loot…..
……and hta’s all that matters, right?

That’s the right attitude Joe!!! Remember when the late great Chris Thomas refused to call RayJay….either Raymond James or RayJay and always referred to it as the CITS….Citizen Investment Tax Stadium…since WE freaking paid for it.

Raymond James just greased the Glazers palms even more. When you realize USF only got their ticket revenue and parking and concessions still went to the Glazers after WE built it with our tax dollars you realize how our love of sport has opened us up to all manner of ripoff.

Stu Sternberg is the very WORST! After spending long months to convince we in St. Pete to give up our waterfront permanently…it was to include part of the Mahaffey parking lot…Goldman Sachs Stu was also going to receive the first floor on Beach Drive for retail stores which he would have leased…and then less than a month after the deal fell through and his sales pitch with loser Michael Kalt leading the way…the Rays released a report stating that downtown ST. Pete would not be considered again because it was a terrible place to squeeze a team. Really? First it’s the greatest then it’s no good?

    Stay in Brooklyn you carpetbagger!!!

It hasn’t been One Buc since it was a trailer off of Westshore (or was that technically Airport Access Road or something?)… the new digs should be sponsored. Why not. Bring it on NFL. its just yet another small thing that fans of this sport have to tune out and TRY TO STILL WATCH A GAME. The league will fall on its sword soon enough.

I grew up with this sport and love it, but the Bucs now only get 90 minutes of my attention via DVR per Sunday (hit play around 2:30 and you’ll watch the end of a 1pm live – quick tip) and not only don’t get the $2500 I used to spend on tickets, but I don’t see any ads of these companies that have put up millions to interrupt my game. It’s sickening and tiring that every year the major sports sell every last piece of what made fans, fans. They can’t even name a practice field without asking for a buck?

Within 10 years, the NFL will find out they’ve alienated anyone that once loved the sport. Rule changes, but also because of stupidity like this.
