No Update On Vita Vea’s Lower Leg Injury

July 29th, 2018

Just a brief update on the bad news Joe brought this morning during the opening 11-on-11 session in full pads.

Vita Vea went down and walked off the field. He didn’t even appear to be trying to shake off the injury. It was as if he knew something was wrong. And Vea eventually was carted to the locker room.

Dirk Koetter called it a lower leg injury during his post-practice news conference. Koetter had no update, which may or may not be good news.

Joe will bring any update as it comes.

Joe, he walked over to the sideline, and was then carted off the field. I’m hoping this is nothing serious, but lower body injuries on 340 pound guys are always extremely worrisome to me.

  2. Stanglassman Says:

Both Rapaport and Greg A. reported it to a calf strain. I don’t think they would have heavily taped it after it happened if they thought it was a serious injury.

Under the glazer watch paper cuts have the potential to become career enders… par for the course for worst ran franchise on planet earth. Get well big guy and make sure to get outside opinions given this franchise history

  4. Trench War Says:

I hope it’s just bruised and not an achilles or a fracture.

    @Stan

Be that as it may, soft tissue injuries can be lingering, and being a man of Vea’s size could potentially exacerbate that problem. Like I said though I hope it’s nothing serious and that it heals rapidly as to not effect Vea’s play significantly this year.

  6. Stanglassman Says:

I get that Vita is the 1st round pick but I’d like to find out about L. Websters’ injury. It seemed to be more serious.

  7. Seminole Bill Says:

I question whether he can be effective at 347 pounds in the Florida heat.

  8. Buddy Says:

Fat boy hurt already??!? Welp here come the start of #KluelessKoetters excuses…

Usually Bucs seasons are over by Halloween.

This year, we are aiming for Labor Day.

  12. Buddha Says:

This is the most negative FAN board I’ve ever witnessed. Doesn’t appear to me that more than a handful of people who post here actually root for the Buccaneers.

  13. Oxycondoms Says:

Imagine someone morbidly obese injuring themself

  14. Willy D Buc Says:

    You said it, Buddha!
    SMDH
Here’s hoping that they’re minor injuries and the injury bug stays well away from our team.
    GO BUCS!!!
